Everyone felt the same in the beginning. Doing errands and being in top earners will allow you get some galleons/sickles

Yeah, everyone needs more money, but you just have to wait each day for the daily scholarship amount. You can get more money by starting up a shop where you offer services like making banners, creating codes etc... things people might want to spend their money on. You can also sell things for money (things that are in your trunk that you can sell), if people give you things that you don't need/want, you can sell it back to the shop and get some money that way too. Plus if your House wins the House Cup for that month, everyone gets something for winning. But it's really hard to win the Cup unless you're Ravenclaw or Slytherin. Those two are usually the most active on winning House Cups. Gryffindor and Hufflepuff have won before but not as often as the other two.

However, we shall see if that remains true from now on! Gryffindors are slowly rising!

You can also make more money if you join the Headliner (when spots are open), win a quidditch match, win a broom racing match, win a dueling match, become a prefect, become a mentor, or become a staff member. If you apply to become a special race and take part-goblin, part-goblins make I think 2 times the amount for daily scholarship that others do. But you have to apply there within 30 days of being validated, or you'll miss your chance.

You're in luck though for joining around this time. When I joined the daily scholarship was 1 sickle per day for Y1 and I think even Y2. The next level was 3 sickles and then 5 or 7 sickles and that was only when you become a Y4 or 5 or 6. It was horrible. It took so long to save up. Now we get 10 sickles per day which is AWESOME. I cried when the change happened because it made me so happy! I can't imagine going back to 1 sickle per day it was torture. I mean yeah the prices of items raised too when we got 10 sickles per day but even though they are more expensive it's not that bad.

Back in the old days Silver Arrow brooms cost 60 galleons and you made 1 sickle per day. Now you make 10 sickles a day but the same broom now is 173 galleons I think.

So it would have taken 1020 days to get the broom back in the old days from JUST the daily scholarship. In the present time it would take 346 days to save up for it JUST by the daily scholarship alone and not counting anything else. All the newcomers are so lucky now because we all get 10 sickles per day now. Just imagine getting 1 sickle per day -dies-
