Does Calming Presence has any effect in broom racing? As the other abilities that create sort of an aura (e.g. Charmer, Terrible Presence) work in the race, but it seems I cannot find Calming Presence in the relevant abilities list. Can it somehow give allies the auto-hit buff if within units in the race?
Also, regarding the ability Comprehend Languages, must the character be decent/fluent in the language at the time when the ability is taken? Is it okay if the character is still at the apprentice/journeyman level and still has some way to go to truly grasp the language when the ability is applied, but will eventually become fluent? Since it takes a relatively long period to become decent in a language and I feel that it might be inappropriate to mention in RPs that the character is learning the language before having this ability in trunk, as in the process of learning they should already know some words, phrases, spellings etc. If they must be fluent at the time when the ability’s applied, then can the learning process being mentioned (e.g. saying that they are spending time learning it and now know a few basic words) in roleplays before it’s applied?

This is fine, no worries. I'd just ask you not to mention that your character's father is, for example, the healer in a charge of a specific ward etc. We avoid overly specific descriptions, like Head Auror, because those positions are limited and would therefore be exclusive to the person who claimed them. The ability lets you be fluent in a language of your choice. How fluent your character really is, is up to you. Your RP would need to involve your character actually studying/being taught the language you apply for, but if you won't claim it and say that they are still studying and getting better, this is absolutely fine. If you have the ability, you can choose to use it however you want to (though it would make little sense to have it and then claim your character wouldn't understand it, to be honest).

You could meet your cousin, however not in Beauxbatons. The only people who can RP in foreign schools are the dNPCs from said school. They have access to the relevant boards. All students not from those schools wouldn't be randomly allowed to go visit them.

A quick addendum on Quinn's question -- when playing your dNPCs (like grandparents), make sure that you are not roleplaying from their point of view but rather from your point of view.
"My grandfather looked disappointed." Good
"I was disappointed in Quinn." Bad
You can describe the character's actions and mannerisms but just make sure you are doing it from your character's point of view. I will try to make a few threads for future examples since this is a common inquiry.
There is something about ambition, how it not only propels you but also defines you.

Random question, but if my character is outside of hogwarts durning the summer break, and in a RP can I mention her having a phone and earbuds?
