Vincent's face lit up in a bright smile; he liked talking about animals and it is always nice to meet another animal-lover. He is sure that they are not rare to come by, but it is the first time he has spoken to someone who has a pet as well...
But then again, now that they are in Hogwarts, almost everyone has a pet don't they? Vincent felt his excitement overtake his worry for a brief second, and quickly shook his head in respond to Skyla's words, "Ooh, you have a cat? Can I see it? Cyrus didn't like cats all that much, and he gets annoyed at my whenever I try to feed the strays-I've never petted a cat before...their fur looks so soft..." He sighed, almost imagining running his hair through silky fur...
"What's the name of your cat?" He asked curiously, very keen on learning more about it-would she let me pet her cat? he wondered what does the cat like to eat; in the telly it is always fish or milk but the last time he left a bowl of milk out for the stray cat that has been coming by his house for nearly a month, it had never returned.
Even till this day, he couldn't help but wonder did cats hate milk that much.

When Vincent asked what her cats name was ,skyla smiled and replied "midnight-because of his black fur"
Skyla was glad to have not messed up,and that people had the same likes at her-wait,I guess there's lots of people here,of course they would.she wasn't expecting to meet people with her likes and interests so soon however , "If you'd like to see him,il let you see later .as he's not here right now." Skyla explained "il have to make sure he's not in a fighting mood though.."she mumbled ,as she usually enjoyed attacking things ,particularly humans if angry ,in fact he attacked her face quite abit.
" actually,I drew a picture in my sketch book," she said,opening it up to the page with her cat on ,it was pretty good,in her own style,though.
"I know it's. Not realistic ,but he looks similar to this."
The cat was in a sitting pose,with his head seemingly looking at her ,of course he wasn't as it was a drawing
It was coloured with black fur ,amber eyes and the background was the garden in her own home,covered in snow aswell,as when she was drawing it ,it was snowing quite a lot ,it was special as it was her cats first time in the snow.

Sarafina listened to the others talking around her. She was kind of sad she wasn't involved in a conversation, but listening to her friends talk was nice. She loved watching people become friends; seeing how they interact with each other was cool. She heard someone make a comment on writing and perked up. She loved writing. She wanted to say something but didn't know if it was right to enter the conversation or not. Instead she sat back and listened to their conversation a lot longer. It seemed to get lost around the mention of Skyla's cat.
"That's cool," she chimed in. "I want a pet, but I'm not sure what type of animal. I used to have a cat back in London. They can either be sweet or destroy your entire house," she joked. It was true though. She learned that from several experiences. "Cats are nice, but I think I'll get a pet that I haven't had before here. Something small and adorable. Any recommendations?" she asked. Maybe the others would know, she thought, shrugging. It was worth a try. Hopefully she could get a pet that wasn't too expensive. She shook that thought off. It would be worth it whatever it was.

When skyla heard fina wanted recommendations for a pet that was small and adorable, skyla first went back to her rabbit-they are small,cute and quite easy to take care of
"I think a rabbit would be good,if you can get one that is. I used to have one,it was a nice pet ..but they are in danger of other animals people may choose,so you may want to be careful." Skyla explained,thinking back to the time she found hers killed by a fox,she shook of the thought "I think il probably get another cat,but it depends .i may change my mind depending on what there is...." skyla wasn't really sure on what she should get,but decided to try and keep the conversation going ,it being her first time,she was glad she didn't make that awkward ,but she loved cats,so she would probably get one if given the chance,but who knows .things could change .

Vincent tilted his head; Sarafina wanted to get a pet that is small and manageable? The first thing that popped into mind was a guinea pig; it certainly fits all the criteria mentioned as it is not only cute, but also small and easily manageable. Especially considering that he has seen one of his classmates at his previous school take care of one without accidentally killing it from neglect or rough-housing...and hopefully it wouldn't die anytime soon either.
When Skyla suggested a rabbit, he nodded in agreement. Rabbit's are relatively low maintenance and their droppings are easy to clean up, the only problem would be when it sheds, he supposes. But nonetheless, getting a rabbit is a good suggestion, "That's a good idea..."
But, perhaps Sarafina would like more choices to choose from? "What about...a guinea pig? It is small and really cute...a lot of other kids have it, and its easy to take care of...I think." He smiled slightly, " Or maybe a parrot? If I remember correctly...they are quite easy to take care of...minus the cleaning of course."
While Vincent has read more fictional books than he could count. on the rare occasion that he does read any non-fiction books, it is almost a guarantee that it would be about one animal or another; he simply loves animals that much, even though having to clean up their excretion and occasionally pick the lice out from Cyrus' coat could be troublesome at times.

Sarafina felt the mood sadden a little, realizing that Skyla had said she used to have one. She wondered if something had happened to it. She tried to lighten the mood.
"Thanks! A rabbit sounds wonderful. They are really cute. I think I might get one. I'll just need to find somewhere that has them. Finding time will probably be harder than finding one," she laughed, smiling at Skyla. She hoped Skyla felt happier. She hated seeing people upset, especially one of her friends. Maybe that was one of her Hufflepuff traits. She had made so many friends already, she didn't know what to do. She'd never known this many people before. She had a few friends back at her old schools, but never anywhere close to this amount. Maybe Hogwarts wouldn't be so bad after all, she thought. As long as she knew a few people in her classes, she knew she could make it through. It wouldn't be so hard, she reassured herself. Who knows, maybe she'd even have a class or two with Skyla. Vincent nodded to Skyla's suggestion.

When fina thanked them for the suggestions,skyla nodded "your welcome" seeing as she felt comfortable with these,she hoped she had some classes with them,it may have been abit far fetched,but not out of possibility . "Do you know what lessons you have today?" Skyla asked,hoping to be in some of the same lessons ,she didn't really like to be in classes where she knew nobody at all ,and these had welcomed her,which had not happened in years,and she thought the others may not exactly treat her the same,as it was all she has known in her years of living
I mean,her own wizard parents abandoned her ,nevermind the family that had adopted her .they didn't even help when the foxes attacked her,gaining the scar from it.
"I think I have charms first,not sure for the rest." Skyla explained ,anxiously waiting for their reply ,she really didn't want to have to be alone again ,as she was awful at meeting new people.

“You’re welcome,” Skyla he replied. Then Skyla had asked what classes she had. Sarafina was worried.
“I have no idea. How do you know? I probably should check, because it sounds important,” she said. “I hope we have some classes together.” She started nervously playing with a strand of hair. When she got anxious or worried she had many bad habits. School was on the top of her worry list, and not knowing where to go was certainly not helping her at all. She swallowed to try to calm herself. “Thanks for saying something. I probably would’ve forgotten.” She remembered Skyla had said she had charms first and she hoped she did too. She wanted some classes with her. She would hate to be in a class and not know anyone else there. The thought reminded her of whenever she would move to a new school and she would just sit in the back awkwardly, not knowing what to say and not having anyone to say what she wanted to say to. She pushed the thought away. Bad memories didn’t do anything but make things worse. She looked back over at the people around her, reminding herself that she did have friends. There was nothing to be worried about. Hopefully.

At that, Vincent found himself flushing and back to smiling awkwardly again, truly glad that he has contributed somehow. "N-no problem!" He almost chirped, and hid a wince at how his voice sounds-truly, he couldn't wait until he would stop sounding like a weird hybrid of Elmo and Big Bird which, if he was honest with himself, didn't sound very cool at all.
Vincent finally, taking the opportunity of the lull in the conversation, to take the last of the tarts on his plate and begin nibbling on it; blueberry tart, he decided, is his new favourite food...though anything sweet will do really.
"Do you know what lessons you have today?"
Taken by surprise, he blinked, realizing that he has completely forgotten what lessons are available in Hogwarts; quickly, he attempted to recall what subjects are there. History...Transfigurations...Charm...Potions and...Herbology? He is sure that there are a few more, and attempted to rack his head to recall what classes are there.
There should be a...Defense against Dark Arts? That's right, he made a small 'o' with his mouth when he finally remembered what lessons are there. And then...besides that..I think there is Astronomy and flying lessons?
Honestly, it is the last two that he doesn't really look forward to. While Astronomy seemed cool in theory, the fact that they might have to stay awake at night for certain lesson is already making him dread it; Vincent loves his sleep, thank you very much, and he, for the life of him, couldn't seem to stay awake past 9.
On the other hand...flying lessons are- well, he supposes that being able to fly on a broom sure is nice, but at the same time he is quite scared if he is to be honest. They are going to be levitating above the ground, moving and on a broom-

Skyla explained,she had saw many students there and looked ,realising it was the lessons new students have
"Or should do,unless they expect us to look there every day."skyla dully joked ,she didn't usually make jokes,and when she did it was usually something like that,she didn't know how to make them,so she just laughed that one off ,hoping it didn't apear as fake as it sounded "no one is there right now,so we could go check." Skyla said ,in an effort to find out "I think there starting soon ,too.so it's best we look quickly...." she mumbled ,hoping it would be heard ,she was slightly glad it was over ,she didn't like all the crowds so it wasn't really her thing,she prefered small groups like these.
