As her first year came to a close, Ruby looked back at an exciting year. She wants to be a healer, just like her father, and already learned a lot from him before Hogwarts. She had been with her father to St. Mungo’s, at the department for potions and plant poisoning. She had seen much there, as her father took her on holidays when it wasn’t as busy as usual. But she was still too young to understand the subtle, or sometimes not so subtle, prejudices against non-humans. For her, everybody and everything was equally important.
At home, being an only child, she turned her care and attention towards the little animals that came to their garden injured. She would take care of them and nurse them back to health. She gained a greater interest in all sorts of creatures, and was looking forward to a life at Hogwarts, where other magical creatures would be accessible.
At her first year, she visited the library often to study books about healing, not only for humans but also for magical creatures. In her lessons it became clear not all witches and wizards were as open to the non-human world as towards their own kind. She learned about suppression and discrimination of certain groups, prejudices and hatred against others.
She met a lot of people in her first year, and discovered not all of them are fully human. She heard of werewolves and metamorphmages, part-Goblins, -Giants, -Veela’s and -Dhampirs, and discovered they were not so different from herself. She started to read books about them, their history, the challenges they faced and the prejudices they endured. The more she read, the more determined she became to not only be a healer, but to specialise in non-humans to give them the love and care they deserve. In the library, she couldn’t find a lot of books about healing these non-humans to expand her knowledge on this subject. Maybe it was up to her, when she would be a future healer, to study and research this further and maybe write some books herself.
As the year continued, she became more aware of the magical creatures in the magical world. She wouldn’t be able to study Care for Magical Creatures until she was a third year, but still she learned a lot. She would visit the Owlery at least one time a week, bringing threats for them and watched them as they came and went. She joined clubs for non-human welfare, like the Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare (S.P.E.W.), to find other spirits like her, so maybe one day they could change the world for the better for everyone, human or not.

Jacob was observant from his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It started when he noticed many things about the other students, like when one of the Gryffindor boys to his left of Defense Against the Dark Arts eyes twitched in fear whenever asked a question. Or whenever his mother frowned in concern for him. He noticed facial expressions and behaviors quite well. There was even that one time with a Slytherin boy who had a nasty smile whenever he bullied another student. This became apparent when he noticed that his fellow students seemed to admire his potion-making skills during his first potions lesson. He saw small expressions of his fellow Gryffindors when he failed his first Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson and gave him small glances of disgust.

One of them even twitched an eyebrow and looked like an angry hawk. His father had taught him to be very observant even as a child, but he only thoroughly learned the lesson of being observant of even the smallest detail from any lesson from his father up until now. Today, though, he seemed to notice a lot of things during the Christmas Holidays, from the slightest twitch of eyebrows from his mother whenever she got excited about what he had learned from his schooling to the way her eyes twinkled when he asked for his mother's advice on certain things about Hogwarts. Now he noticed his mother had cleaned the room of present wrapping paper since they were done with the gifts they had gotten for Christmas from each other. One of the presents had an odd shape. It was in a weird shape. A small circular shape that he could only guess was a new ball. He could think it was a quaffle for Quidditch or just for throwing around whenever he got bored.

During the summer holidays after his first year at Hogwarts, Jacob's father shared a story that filled Jacob with pride. Jacob had stopped a pair of Slytherin bullies from making fun of a slow Hufflepuff boy. The twinkle in his father's eyes and the small smile on his face as he said, "I am proud of you," Were moments Jacob would never forget. His mother would do the same whenever he showed intelligence, those values that Ravenclaws valued more than anything else. One time, when he was reading the Standard Book of Spells, he noticed one spell in particular he had been looking forward to using. The Disarming Charm, Expelliarmus. He went to the Hogwarts Express and looked forward to his new year.

- You explain a lot of "why" Jacob has the ability, but I would like to learn more about "how" he has gained the ability.
- I noticed that many of your examples of why he has the ability are the same instances in the Harry Potter movies/books.
- I kindly ask that you remove these examples and seek more original examples rather than instances plucked from the books.

It seems that you currently don't understand what the ability sixth sense is. Jacob does not actually have a sixth sense that works like a seer's intuition- that is what your application reads like. I recommend you read some other people's sixth sense application to get a better understanding of the ability.
Many of the examples you provide would need some extra re-registrations as they have 0 context or motive. Please remove all examples including cursed items or people intending to commit murder.

Jacob recently became a master of Potions; he had himself in potions books of all kinds and studied potions day in and day out for months on end. It would be something if he were not to be studying for his final potions exams, but it was by far his favorite subject. When it comes to potions, there is no way Jacob would separate from his potions books. He would, in all likelihood, fail his exams. However, Jacob was passionate about potions since he had mastered them, and it would only be a matter of time before his talents were noticed by the staff at Hogwarts. He often practices at home whenever he is away from school. Jacob also ensures that his homework is completed on time and that no extra time is wasted on not producing a potion worthy of note by his professors. It reached a point when even one of his friends noticed that he had this rare mastery of potions; it was all he could think about. Even his family saw him going through this. He once brewed an entire Antidote to Uncommon Poisons by himself without supervision. This may land him in trouble doing so after dark, but he doesn't care as long as he is brewing a potion; Jacob doesn't care if he gets into trouble. Thankfully, he knows when it's time to stop. But his mastery of potions at home is even more impressive when you consider what type of potion he makes, healing potions, environmental potions, and all sorts of potions he could make in a heartbeat. But only the ones taught to him in potion books or classes assigned to third-year students and not anything that could disrupt the class schedule. He thankfully knows that he is good at this subject; today was one of those days when he was attempting to make a revive potion at home. First, he filled the cauldron with purified water. Then he chopped three Murtlap tentacles, added them to the cauldron, and allowed it to simmer for five minutes. While this, he ground three lionfish spines into a coarse powder. He then added it to the cauldron. He then added two measures of salt to the cauldron. Then, he stirred it three times in a clockwise rotation. He then added five drops of Essence of Wormwood to the cauldron. Then he took one sprig of Dittany and added it to the cauldron. He then stirred it five times, counter-clockwise. And then finished it with a wave of his wand. He then filled it into vials to show off to his classmates when he got back to school.

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Advanced Casting
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Reducio
It is a cold winter day in Hogwarts; Jacob has been an advanced caster for quite a while now. Jacob had a lot of destructive potential and could be a great duelist. He also had the possibility of blowing away a lot of people, even from a young age; he had great power on; it all started at his very first Charms Lesson, where Jacob was able to learn the Mending Charm at such power that he was practically a genius when it comes to spell-casting, it also had the effect of making a lot of people uneasy when it came to him. He had a lot of potential but also knew that he could do it if he wanted to do more with Jacob's powers, so Jacob knew that he had to be a great caster, especially in a dueling situation. Jacob knew that if Jacob had enough spell-casting potential. He might blow away windows and chairs and get into trouble because of his spell-casting. This could lead him into all sorts of situations. Even detention or expulsion from the school. He once performed a Disarming Charm so well that the person bullying a first-year's wand went straight out of his hand and into Jacob's hand. Today, he was practicing the Knockback Jinx with a friend and ensuring he was ready for the real world. He knew that he had to be prepared for the real world. He also knew that someday, it would lead to a duel with a former student if it came down to it and even a dark wizard if the worst came to pass. So he prepared himself for the spells that would come; he would get in there; his friend cast the Knockback Jinx but managed to take cover behind a barrier they erected in the dueling area. Now it was his turn, so he began with a downward curve with his wand, and then he had a fast ascension with the wand; he wondered if his father would want him to perform this spell often. Then, finally, with a final hook with his wand, he drew out the spell, and then finally, he uttered the incantation to finish the spell: "Flipendo." he drew it perfectly, and a red light whooshed passed and hit his friend and knock him back by a longshot. Jacob knew he could do it; Jacob had the gift of knowing what spells to perform and how to do it right.

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Non-Verbal Magic
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Reducio
It was a snowy day in Hogwarts, and Jacob learned non-verbal magic. He had learned how to do this through many years of hard work and dedication to ensuring he could do this rare ability of non-verbal magic. Through long practice, he had learned this exceptional ability. Years ago, this was only taught to students who studied for their sixth year at Hogwarts or any other Wizarding School and only in Defense Against the Dark Arts. Students needed to learn how to cast non-verbal spells, as this would give them an advantage over their opponents in combat. This was crucial as it could make them unpredictable in certain situations. Now, Jacob would learn the same. So he had to make this count. He learned this ability for the first time in class in his fifth year. And seemed to have a knack for doing it. He practiced non-verbal spells ever since and could not believe that they could be taught at a young age; his fellow students were impressed at his skill in non-verbal spell craft every time. If he wanted to get ahead of his colleagues, he knew he had to practice this particular bit of magic. It was clear to everyone that he was terrific with non-verbal spells the more he practiced with this specific form of magic. This was something he could do. How he got this ability was because of a lesson that was taught that year during Defense Against the Dark Arts. He first did the spells whispering so that it could sink in. He then practiced on thinking the incantation instead of saying it out loud. The process of which is where he thought long, first he searched the Library after the class to see what more he could learn about non-verbal magic then he practiced many spells over and over in his head. During this time, he was trying to use the Knockback Jinx he gave a downward motion with his wand that headed toward the right, he then had a sharp upward turn to the right, finally he drew a hook in the air to finish the spell and he whispered the incantation “Flipendo.” A streak of red light shot out of the end of his wand and hit a training dummy he set up, when he tried to do it non-verbally. He once again did the exact same wand movement and did it non-verbally for the first time and once again hit the training dummy. After this he felt exhilarated, knowing that only a few were able to do non-verbal magic. It would only be a matter of time before the whole school noticed. Now, he would show this in a duel against a practice dummy and demonstrate how to do many spells non-verbally. Eventually he decided to show some of the school. Thankfully, he knew an array of spells that could be useful in a duel, different abilities, and talents that he could employ to significant effect against this training dummy first would be the Disarming Charm, Expelliarmus. Jacob knew how to do the wand movement; it was one of the very first spells he learned as a second-year student. So he pointed his wand and drew a downward motion, which was slight to the right, then ending it with a swirl like a pinwheel, and he thought of the spell and the incantation in his head, 'Expelliarmus', and focused on it. Then, a red light shined from his wand, reliving the dummy of his wand. He then used his wand when the spell ended, traced a 'Z' shape with his wand, and concentrated on the incantation in his head, 'Confringo.' a fire-like orange light emanated from the wand. Finally, he drew a diagonal line down to the right, then drew a downward motion to the left and concentrated on the incantation and the spell. 'Reducto,' and the training dummy was destroyed.

I would like to learn more about "how" he gained the ability. You explain well the importance of learning this ability and provide great examples of Jacob's determination and examples after he learned it. However, I am missing the "how" he accomplished this feat.
- What was Jacob's process for learning this advanced magic? Please provide examples of techniques that helped Jacob reach mastery of non-verbal magic.
STATUS: Pending, Opeila 14/07
Please remove the mention of Harry Potter's skill level in non-verbal spellcasting. This is not public knowledge that Jacob would have access to.

Since a very young age Argento had something that made him stand out irrespective of his beautiful blue eyes or perfect little lips. Even the people around him would get distracted at times. He would tend to use it against the unsuspecting people.

Young Argento was a confused little fella and whatever he did in this confusion, made him feel sorta a mix of emotions. On one side, he was happy that he was getting so much attention and on the other side he feared that he would hurt someone and make them get angry with him. He didn't want to hurt anyone's feeling to be honest. Pushing the thought aside, Argento smiled as he saw his tutor one fine day to teach him about stuff. He knew his parents wanted him to get the best of the best education.

He remembers a time when he was supposed to be studying in the backyard that they had, and as a five year old boy- Argento didn't want to study that day. He wanted to be mischievous that day knowing very well that he had to study. He pouted his lips and his eyes looked soft with a puppy dog eyes gesture. And his Tutor was so distracted by it that he had let Argento go and do whatever Argento wanted.

This excited the young Argento and made him feel happy. Not that he was going to make it habit. But it was something was going to happen now and then. Sometimes he used his ability to get away from trouble. Despite that, he made a lot of friends because there was something very charming about him. He ended up with a huge line of young kids who wanted to know more about him.

He could tell them all tall stories and get away with it. Like once he told them that his parents had gotten him from a tree of life which gave occasional pods of small kids. It was something that he had read in one of the books and thought it would be fun to throw that at his friends. He would giggle as he heard them gasp in shock. He would go on doing it as it thought it was funny and he could get a few laughs himself from it. He was hoping that he was not hurting anyone by doing it. It was supposed to be a joke but sometimes he couldn't know for sure whether his friends took it as one or not.

Whilst Pax had been so focused on quidditch, they had to be grateful for their older brother Nico. During the holidays that Pax had elected or been forced to return home, their brother had been willing to help them train and keep working on improving their skills. This year, however, they wanted to repay the favour.

The first week of summer, Pax woke up early and gathered up all of the tennis balls and beach balls that they could find in their house before going to disturb their brother. Despite his complaints and protests, he obliged and dragged himself out of bed for an early morning training session, half-heartedly listening as Pax explained their new training idea. And, simply put, Pax's plan was to help their brother with his aim. Of course, this would also help them with their sports ability, as he would be hitting the beach balls back, and they would have to dodge them.

So, every day, at the crack of dawn before they had to go about their day (or whatever plans their parents may have had in store for them), Pax would drag their brother out of bed and get them to train. They began to practice with beach balls, with Nico throwing them as accurately as they could whilst Pax attempted to dodge them. Of course, however, with beach balls, they were simple enough to throw and dodge. Even the size didn't have too much of an impact as they travelled leisurely through the air, giving Pax plenty of time to predict its landing spot and move out of the way. So, within a couple of days, they'd switched to tennis balls.

Tennis balls proved a lot more difficult. They flew at a pretty ridiculously fast speed, faster than Pax remembered them being able to travel, and hurt significantly more at that speed than they remembered as well, though at least they were less painful than a bludger to the stomach. It didn't take long for them to quickly learn that, with tennis balls, they had to keep their head on a swivel to make sure they could dodge them effectively. Nico also got better at being stealthier, timing his throws when they weren't prepared, including even in the house (Pax's parents were definitively NOT happy about that development). Since then, Pax had to be constantly ready for a tennis ball to be speeding in their direction at any time, heightening their evasive abilities and keeping them always on their toes, ready to dodge at any moment.

Aston grew up in the countryside, essentially in the woods, as a result of the quietness of his old home his senses were always quite good. His hearing and vision was especially useful when his mother was teaching him how to track animals like his mother before him, and her father before her. Because of all of this Aston's instincts grow to be surprisingly accurate, being able to sense when animals, or even people are coming. Aston's mother's fighting training also helped a lot, she wanted to make sure Aston was ready for absolutely everything, leading to some rather harsh moments. For example the one time in training where Aston couldn't dodge quickly enough which led to him getting punched in the face. In the aftermath of that when his mother was patching him up she told him, "You have to be ready for anything at any time okay? People have attacked that way before, trying to hit me when I'm not looking. You have to pay attention, all the time, you hear me?" Which he did take to heart. Aston's good hearing and sight, combined with the fighting practices his mother would do with him led him to being good at evading attacks and knowing when they are happening.

After moving to London his father tried to keep teaching him muggle fighting, but the unfortunate reality was that Aaron was simply not as good as Loretta. In an effort to continue bonding with his son in the way his mother used to, Aaron tried to introduce his son to quidditch, as a former beater for his school, Aaron was still quite good after years of not practising. Thus he and Aston practised that aspect of quiddich quite a lot, the two of them didn't have any good brooms or nice equipment, but they certainly did enjoy themselves. Aston's instincts came into surprisingly good use during these mock games with just the two players, he proved himself to be good at evading bludgers and hitting them back at the same time.

As a student in Hogwarts Aston likes flying classes a lot, since the very first time he's been on one he has found being on a broom to be an experience unlike any other. What prompted Aston to try to join the Ravenclaw quiddich team was seeing his first official match. Having never seen one before going to Hogwarts, actually seeing one play out in real life was amazing to him. All the people flying and dodging, throwing and beating, the way everything flew out in the air looked fun as heck! Which is why he asked his father to keep practising with him at home in the holidays, his father was overjoyed by the fact that he wanted to be a beater, just like his old man. Thus even on the brooms, Aston is able to keep his guard up and be ready for anything, just like what mom hoped for.

Alexandria grew up with strict expectations from her parents, Reyna and Michael. She was expected to always look her best, be on her best behavior, and uphold the family name. She was expected to have the same standards as her parents, to look down on anyone who was not a pureblood or who did not come from a family with money or power.
Alex hated having to hold herself to her parents' standards. She never understood why her parents wanted her to act like she was better than everyone, so untouchable. She knew she was just like everyone else, there was not really anything that set her apart from other kids her age. That became very apparent when she started Hogwarts.
During her first year at Hogwarts, Alex realized that nobody was going to care if her father was an auror, if she was a pureblood, or if her family was wealthy. All anyone really cared about was that she was nice to them if they ever talked to her, and she was. So no one really ever paid her any special attention.
She never was the kind of person to stick out from the crowd, so she never did. She found that if she treated everyone with the same kindness then everyone would treat her nicely and she wouldn't have any problems. It never mattered what the person looked like, or what kind of background they came from, Alex would treat them all the same.
She never thought her parents could be wrong about anything, they were always so sure about everything they did and said. In a way, they were unreachable. Maybe that was why Alex never felt very close to either her mother or her father. They acted like they were too good for everyone, even their own daughter. They only paid her attention when she did something the way they wanted her to. If she dressed properly, spoke with dignity, and never associated with the lesser, then her parents would give her attention and praise. But if she broke a rule, or talked to the wrong cousin at a family reunion, the only people who would give her any attention were her grandparents.
Alex's grandparents were good people. Her grandmother, Helen. was the one who taught her not to look down on people. Helen told Alexandria that there were some people in her extended family that her parents don't talk to anymore because they were different, or because they had friends who weren't purebloods.
Alex decided she wouldn't be like her parents, instead, she would be like her grandmother, who treated everyone fairly, and only judged them based of how they acted and how they treated others.

It was early in Anthony's second year at Hogwarts, he still couldn't help but think about his greatest failure last year. He was the first one to be knocked out in the Ravenclaw vs. Slytherin duel and Anthony couldn't help but feel helpless. Anthony hated feeling helpless, he hated watching his teammates worry about him and begin to crumble. He didn't want to let down those who needed him. He wanted to make sure that would never happen again.
Walking past the Hogwarts billboard near the Entrance Hall Anthony spotted a flyer that caught his eye. He walked over to it and read the big bold silver and gold letters. It read "Duelling Club Sign Up Sheet" This flyer reminded Anthony that it was a new year. A new beginning. It was up to him on what he would do with it.
"This was exactly what I was looking for!" Anthony thought in a moment of realization and relief. He would study harder than ever, and learn more spells than ever. It didn't matter if it was allowed or if he had learned them in class or not. He would learn them. He wouldn't be taking any extra classes of course, just getting ahead each year - classes would just slow him down anyway. Sure it may add on to the personal re-studying courses he had planned for himself for his first-year classes along with the classes for his second year but he was dedicated to doing to better help his teammates in a duel. He didn't know why he was so desperate and dedicated to becoming a good duellist, but he liked the small thrill of the battle and wanted to taste the victory and success of his strategies playing out. He always found satisfaction when he experimented with new spell combos in his head to see how they would work and complement each other as well as what will be able to counter certain spells. Add in two more people who share a similar vision and that created the perfect catalyst for not only seeing victory but also seeing the success of his strategies that led them to that victory. It was always a satisfying feeling. This will just help to expand his arsenal.
Anthony took a quill and book that he had stored in his pocket. This wasn't his normal personal notes book. This was an empty one, one he had been saving for something important. One he would now be used to write down dueling spells, help study for new spells, and compose new dueling strategies. However, there was a thought in the back of his mind. "I probably shouldn't study ahead for all of my classes, so maybe just one for now." With this in mind Anthony thought of which class he would like to pick as his extra studies class.
After thinking for about five minutes, he figured that his best choice would be his favorite class of his first year. Defense of The Dark Arts. Anthony had little doubt in his mind that Defense of the Dark Arts Class would fail to impress this year or any years after for that matter and he knew that many spells that are authorized in dueling would be learned in this class, so it would naturally be the best pick.
So, with a mind full of ideas and a heart full of hope he wrote the title of his book: Dueling Journal He then wrote the beginning of his first chapter: Defense Of The Dark Arts Dueling Spells. He then flipped several dozen pages, leaving plenty of room for another extra studies class if needed. Anthony wrote his last chapter, what he would write on the last 100 pages of his new dueling journal: Dueling Strategies. "It's a new year. A new chance. A chance to start over and do better. But first, I will need to catch up." Anthony then headed to his dormitory, it may have been getting late but he would likely study all night.

- Solid app so far! I simply think there may be a misunderstanding of what Prodigal entails, but easy fix!
- Prodigal is simply having so much enthusiasm, your character reads a year ahead of the curriculum.
- This is not a class to enroll for, just displaying enthusiasm (or out of necessity) in ways that prompt your character to study ahead to better.

There is no doubt that Jess has always been an attentive student. From since her time at primary school, her teachers have endlessly repeated the words, zealous, diligent and hard-working when asked to describe the young girl. Due to her strong-willed nature, Jess made sure that this reputation was maintained, even when she arrived at Hogwarts, where her lessons were vastly different to Spanish, Science or PE... Immediately, Jess set to work on her wizarding classes, and achieved an O in every lesson. However, it would be ignorant to say that this was done without serious effort. Often times, this constant and desperate striving for the unachievable had negative consequences, and Jess had to struggle intensely to avoid a dramatic disaster in her first few weeks at school, when she accidentally submitted incomplete homework to her teacher, Professor Fresnel, for her very first Charms assignment.
As always, once she was given the assignment to do, Jess worked tirelessly to produce the best result possible. Every night, when her dorm-mates had gone to sleep, Jess would stay up late, improving on her work, writing and re-writing answers, and tossing balls of crumpled paper onto the ground, until it was nearly impossible to traverse. Unfortunately, all of this reduced sleeping time took a toll on Jess' alertness, and when it came time to hand in the homework, she confidently passed her work to Professor Fresnel. The wrong work. It didn't take Jess long to realise the mistake she'd made, when she returned to her dorm that evening to find a pristine final copy of her work lying on her bedside table. She fretted intensely for several hours, before going to Professor Fresnel's office early the next morning, and begging to redo the homework. Thanks to the grace of her teacher, Jess was allowed to do so, and spent the late hours of the evening and early hours of the morning creating a perfect resubmission. To Jess' delight, she received 100% (although, she didn't find this out until she was told so by her classmates after the lesson, because she had fallen into a deep sleep during the lesson, from sheer exhaustion).
All of this is to say that, from the very start, Jess has been called a perfectionist. Whether it be taking charge in group projects to ensure the highest mark, or organising her broom care equipment to keep track of her items, Jess likes to make sure that everything stays perfect.

Alliasta had always been a cute girl, but more so than her peers. The girl has always been considered very beautiful. His eyes are perfect, especially thanks to his heterochromia. When she was born, she impressed all the relatives who came to see her. She seemed so beautiful.

Alliasta has really cute facial features, a beauty inherited from her mother, and her eyes resemble her grandmother's eyes. Alliasta is the only daughter of her family and was really always raised with care. Her mother always used grooming kits for her skin. On top of all this, as Alliasta grew older, her facial features became more beautiful. She was a girl who received compliments even while walking on the street. People found her facial features and eyes very attractive.

In fact, once when Alliasta went to a park with her mother when she was little, some people in the park saw Alliasta and wanted to take photos with her. This really surprised her mother because she didn't think this situation would happen to anyone else. Her daughter had always been beautiful and she knew it, but this was really a bit much, wasn't it? Maybe not because Alliasta is really beatiful. Of course, she kindly allowed them to take photos with her daughter.

This really impacted Alliasta's circle of friends as she grew older. People wanted to be friends with him. And the girl welcomed it happily. She knew she was beautiful, but she never bragged about it. She didn't want people to think that she was just about looks. She always applied the best creams on her face and always kept her cheeks soft and moisturized. But even if she didn't do these things, everyone thought she was beautiful.

Alliasta's genes were a mix of beauty running through her family; her father's side had always had a healthy body and skin, and her mother's side had soft and expressive facial features. The girl was grateful to her parents for this. But of course he always loved his family. Alliasta's heterochromia enhanced her beauty, which was taboo for everyone. But Alliasta was sometimes made fun of for this. Of course, being different was perfect for her. So who else has different eyes? Well, maybe there is, but Alliasta has never met anyone other than herself. Alliasta has three moles on one cheek and a mole on the other. When she was little, her friends used to tag her moles. There was no blemish on her face other than these moles, her cheeks were perfectly soft to be squeezed.

There was something so unbelievably frustrating with being able to memorise the theory of something perfectly yet struggle with applying the theory in a practical way. At least that was what River felt over the first few months of learning magic at Hogwarts. She would groan and frown with each misfired spell or faulty potion, knowing that her pronunciation and movements were perfect replicas of her professors' demonstrations, especially potions. Therefore, over the course of the summer holidays back home after her First Year at Hogwarts, River bugged her parents into hiring tutors in all of her classes so that she could practice more with practical applications of magic.

For hours she would stand behind a bubbling cauldron alongside her mother, memorising her First Year potion recipes once again and following all of her mother's tips and tricks from when the woman still worked as a magizoologist. Elena Luxley nee Hembley was a very smart woman and showed that in her fluent and confident explanations. She was quick to correct her daughter's handling of ingredients, her timing for stirring or heating her potion, even her ability to think of why certain ingredients are used in potions and the way that they are prepared before being added to the potion.

Similar to potions, River also practiced other forms of magic such as Transfiguration, Charms and Defense Against the Dark Arts spells. She wouldn't actually cast the magic, but with the help of her tutors she was able to build up her muscle memory to finely tune her wand movements until she knew she would never make a mistake with them even if she was moving around at the same time. She also stayed up late most nights (which wasn't too difficult for her since she was used to late or even sleepless nights back at Hogwarts) just so that she could practice mapping stars and recognising constellations for Astronomy.

River loved every second of it, no matter how tiring or tedious. She was in love with magic and all it brought into life. She felt immense satisfaction whenever a potion or spell came out just the way she wanted it. River new she was a perfectionist, it was shown in everything she did, like with her studies like mentioned before, but also in her everyday life. Her bed was always made like in those muggle bedroom catalogues, her drawings were always done without a single line out of place once she was done with them, and she even walked with perfected steps that she had learned in her etiquette lessons.
