Donny seemed genuinely happy about his arrival, and Ruka was still surprised sometimes that he had managed to not only find a friend but a best friend. The two of them were definitely each other's rocks at this school!
"I figured it'd be a good way to meet people?" he answered, chuckling nervously. As he looked around he saw faces that he'd definitely seen in passing but never talked to, and it made him feel sort of sad to think about; The school was so full of people and he still managed to feel lonely sometimes. "My dad says I shouldn't spend all my time drowning in lakes with you." He laughed and quickly stole a sip of Donny's punch, licking his lips at the taste. "So, have you tried the cupcakes yet? They look amazing but I'm not too sure about the flavours." From everything he'd seen in the magic world so far, Ruka had definitely learned to be careful about flavours because they often were not quite what he expected them to be.
He looked around as he waited for Donny's answer, his eyes falling on a girl close by who kept looking over at Donny like she wasn't sure whether to talk to him or not.
Maybe she didn't want to approach him while Ruka was still around?
He offered her a small smile when she looked their way again, lifting his hand in a friendly wave that was supposed to symbol that she could come over to chat to them if she wanted to.
Ruka knew what it felt like to sit by himself and wait for people to talk to him, and knowing Donny he wouldn't mind having someone else around to chat to either, so he hoped the girl would catch onto his welcoming gesture and join them at their table.

Donny was very happy as Ruka spoke, laughing hard at joke about their adventure at the lake. "That sure was a good one!" he pointed out. He listened intently as Ruka asked about the cupcakes, quite unsure as Donny was to have actually tried one. "Er... I wouldn't recommend it!" He said, grinning, and adding on, "I thought i'd get coconut... but lucky me got sour, tangy Onion!" he laughed, watching Ruka take a sip of the punch, it was quite good, the house elves had really outdone themselves for this year's festival.

He then saw Ruka waving at someone over the small crowd of people. He had instantly recognized her! It was Jade, the girl who hadn't only saved his life, but whom he'd become good friends with. He sat up in his seat, giving Jade an energetic wave, and pulling out a chair for her as she came over sheepishly to the table. "Well! Fancy seeing you both here!" he said, beaming at the trio. "Say... we were just talking about friends... so this is Ruka, Ruka this is Jade!" he said, changing his hand motions and pulling the two's hands together bemusedly, laughing as they all got settled for the day. "And by the way... I like your dress." Donny said promptly to Jade, motioning an 'okay' sign with his hand and clicking his tongue...

Today was the day. After receiving a surprising owl back, she wasn't sure if she was excited or petrified.
At her dormroom, she could barely contain herself. This was her first ball. At Hogwarts even. Filled with delight she picked up Pip. 'Oh Pip! I'm not sure what I feel right now but...' Her hands had gotten sweaty, quickly placing her fluffy companion on her bed. 'Oh... Sorry.' Wiping her hands off her shirt. She sighed and sat down next to Pip. She couldn't help but feel like a princess. Like Cinderella. 'I mean. Look at me, talking with you.' She giggled embarassed at her pet. 'I can talk with animals, right?'He looked back at her, squeeking as he shook his head. Even Nico thought it was kind of rediculous. But she hadn't felt this way in a while. Maybe she had gotten insane, maybe she... Who knows.

Sliding off, onto her knees, she pulled out her suitcase from underneath her bed. It wasn't dusty since she cleaned up her dormroom during the search of Professor Jensens keys. The suitcase had been her dads, a strong firm leathery material. Sturdy enough to handle the bumpy ride on the train on her way to Hogwarts. In a plastic cover, her new dress had been safely stored. 'Look, Pip.' She smiled softly placing the covered dress on her bedsheets. Pip rolled over to the side, making room for the delicate treasure. Carefully, she zipped it open to reveal the royal blue dress. 'I'll put it on, then you can tell me what you think, okey?' Pip nodded, rolling over to her pillow. Patiently waiting.

After some minutes, Nico twirled around the room. Showing off her elegant but playful dress. She felt happy, excited... Pip squeeked with approval. 'And as a finishing touch I added a bow aswell.' She stroked it delicately. It wasn't a perfect bow but she tried her best. 'It... doesn't look stupid does it?' The Pygmy Puff shook his head and hopped up and down. 'I'm glad you're just as excited as I am.'Taking her wand in one of her pockets, she eyed at her bag before leaving her room. Should she take it with her? Ah... She could always return to pick it up should there be the need. 'I'll see you later, Pip!'

Arriving at the Ball Nico felt nervous. So nervous. She had quietly arrived at the Dancefloor, her eyes darting at all the students that were already present. Was this... really a good idea? Just moments ago she couldn't wait to be here but now... Actually being here. She didn't feel so sure.

Trying not to pull too much attention, Nico made her way to the Buffet. If anything, she had always loved food. Probably like so many people. But still... As she stood there, contemplating her options, she noticed a large man. A Professor. Solomon Lear. She had heard of that name before but... The context they spoke of him was rarely positive. She decided not to stare and to focus on the plates filled with savory and sugarry goodness.

After some unbearable pondering, she decided to go for a Cupcake and hope for the best: Pumpkin. Not bad! She sighed relieved and looked over at an empty seat. As she nibbled on the cupcake, her memories of who'd she meet at this party came back to her. Her legs felt like they were ready to give in but before she would let them, Nico quickly shuffeled over to sit down.

Sighing she thought of Pip. Maybe she should've brought him with her... But she would be fine. Right? Drifting off in her own thoughts, she quietly munched on her cupcake. Occasionaly glancing over at people at the party.

Mari steadied herself as she walked to the dance. She still felt emotionally overwhelmed at the events that had befallen her and at times that caused a dizziness inside her. Unfortunately, this was one of those times. She cursed the evil boy's actions and wished she hadn't tried to attack him. The aftermath of her injury had been monumentally bad, healing aside. Even her dad, whom she had been on the best terms with, oddly, scolded her for her injury. You shouldn't have attack him, he wrote. Obviously he was not in his right mind.

Either way, she didn't really want to wear tight dresses due to some of the injury still healing, so she settled for a flowing one in a rich purple. Unfortunately, it was still a little too big on Mari due to the fact that she was quite small for twelve, and the movement of fabric made a rustling sound against the protective coverings every time she moved. She felt uncomfortable. Honestly, she probably wouldn't have attended the ball at all if it weren't for the fact that Spring was her favorite season; though her face lit up with joy, Mari looked anything but comfortable in her formal wear.

Moving slower now, Mari took in the sights. The first thing she noticed was the Headmaster; having only noted his existence at the feast, she was quite shocked to realize that he wore a suit of armor to dances, as well. Mari wondered if he was in his right mind. Obviously, she would not attack him due to his position of power, but having learned her lesson with Kaegan regarding weird people, she noted that if she ever had any reason to attack, she should probably just run away, instead. He probably carried a knife on him, even if he tried to dress up his suit of armor with a tie.

The fountain of drink next took her attention. Mari slowly wandered over to the drink. She couldn't quite figure out what the flavor was supposed to be based on appearance alone, so, like any rash-behaving person would do, Mari merely grabbed a cup and filled it. A flicker of paranoia crossed her thoughts when she wondered if a psychopath like Kaegan had put it out to poison the others. This is a Hogwarts school event, Mari reassured herself as she took a drink. No one will hurt you here. She smiled. Fruit punch, her favorite. She grabbed a few glasses to hand out to anyone she saw on the way.

Mari then turned toward the food table when she realized how many students were there. She feared who might be there, and as that fear escalated, she felt panic. Noooo... her thoughts moaned. She had to get out of here. She needed to better prepare herself for this, prepare for what - or who - may be there. She quickly grabbed some food to accompany her drink and headed away.

Where to, though? This was a public event, but there were a few exits: the cabins or the lake. Hearing splashing and what could only be described as ruckus, Mari turned towards the cabins. As she was only a first year, she had not been to the cabins yet, but she figured it would be a more private place to breathe and possibly have the second panic attack of her life, this time, free from a crazy person and an audience.

She turned, eyes beginning to well, as she wandered away from the party. Fearful for further injuries, Mari knew that she probably should not have been walking as fast, but in her mind, possibly running into a crazy daemon was a desperate time that called for such a desperate measure.

Elena Jones and Anatole Evans Have Left The Party
Some people were running off in random directions, it looked like anyone that'd been near the crazy stabby child were particularly running. Although looking at her assembled friends, Elena had an idea, a small idea, and probably one that wouldn't work out too well but an idea all the same.

"So, I heard there's cabins nearby, if anyone wants to get a bit of peace and quiet, I'm going to steal some cupcakes and head on over." Elena demonstrated by pulling a small container out of her satchel and taking five cupcakes, 2 Cream Puff, Peach, Chocolate, and Strawberry and Peanut Butter Ice-Cream. Delicious.

"Anyone who's up for a bit of an adventure, just follow me. I have a marauders map, it'll get us there fast." Elena closed up the pilfered cupcakes and put them safely in her bag, "Otherwise, well I don't know, maybe just mill around the party?"

The Slytherin mostly wanted to spend some time away from all the bright lights and loud noises and oh holy lord was that some fifth years making out? Did not bear thinking about, moving onward and hopefully towards a better train of thought. Elena smiled at her friends hopefully and adjusted her tie before just leaving the party, hoping they would follow.

On the way past Elena saw a kid with a tablecloth on his head, and decided to take his hand and drag him along with her.

I'm weak my love.

To go, or not to go, that was the question River had been contemplating since she first heard about the upcoming Blossom Fest. River had never in her life been a fan of these fancy things, and she had certainly never been to a ball before. I'm going to be all by myself, I don't have anyone to go with, and I don't even know what I'll wear... She laid down on her bed, and looked thoughtfully up at the celling. I mean, there's nothing better for me to do anyway. She thought, as River did not have any homework to be done, and didn't make other plans either. She didn't really know herself, but she did have an urge to go. She wanted to see what it was like, and who would be there. Maybe she'd meet some nice people she could get to know. After what seemed like hours of just lying there, contemplating, she decided she'd just go. And if she didn't like it, she could just leave, it was that simple.

Now for what to wear... She had only packed a few things in case of an event like this, so she didn't have much of a choice when it came to attire. Of course, the few things she had packed, were things she liked, so she knew she'd feel a little confident in her outfit at least. She pulled her dress, shoes and accesories out of the bottom of her luggage, and changed. She went over to a mirror, and admired her work. It was certainly something different from her usual sweaters and jeans.

River had been nervous about what to wear, as she had never really felt comfortable wearing a dress, but for the occasion, she had put on a simple, dark blue one, which reached her calves. Sure, River had mannaged to make herself wear a dress, but there was a line she did not feel comfortable crossing. She would NOT wear heels. Nope River had decided to put on her trusted, black converse with her dress, it was a choice she knew came with a lot of controversy, but she didn't really care. She had even done her hair fancy, which she actually liked in these rare instances. To top the whole outfit off, she wore her necklace with the pendant of a small bird, which she never took off.

River walked nervously up to where the dancefloor was. Trying to take it all in, not that it was an easy task, as River could feel her anxiety slowly creeping up on her, ready to attack from behind. She took a deep breath, and shook her head slightly, he wouldn't let her anxiety ruin this. She hadn't put herself in a dress, just to leave after a few seconds. No she was staying.

When pushing her anxieties away, with difficulty, she actually saw how incredible the place looked. It was truly different than what she had expected. Maybe it was worth going after all? She thought to herself as her mood lightened a little by the atmosphere of her surroundings.

The young Ravenclaw stood silently by the side of the dance floor and looked carefully around for familliar faces. She noticed a few, but no one she really knew that well. She had never been great at attempting to make frieds, but it seemed like today would be an opportunity to practise. Still, she did not feel ready to approach anyone, she wasn't that upfront, or brave for that sake. Perhaps the food will be something to check out while warming up to all the surrounding people? She thought, as she spotted the tables a little bit away from her.
She walked up to the table decked up with more cupcakes than she had ever seen. She picked one thet looked particularly appealing. It was a brown one with white frosting, and River expected it to be chocolate or something along those lines. She took a bite. Wow, that's good! she thought. It was not chocolate as she had expected, but rather coffee flavoured. She loved herself a cup of coffee, so she definitely did not mind that. She continued nibbling on the cupcake as she stood there, looking at all the surrounding people enjoying themselves.

Interaction with Donnovan Perrywinkle and Ruka Tan

As Jade glanced over at Donny's table again she saw the boy he was with waving at her. Then Donny turned around and waved her over too, Jade was relived that she had someone to talk to. She shyly walked over to their table still a little nervous.

When she got there Donny introduced her to his friend, Ruka. After Donny introduced her to Ruka Jade sat down and placed her drink on the table. "It's a pleasure to meet you Ruka. Thanks, you two look great two, I particularly like that shirt." Jade said beaming at them.

This was going to be fun. "What do you think of the party? The elves have really outdone theirselves with this punch." Jade said taking another sip of her punch, this time it had a bit of a berry flavour to it. The punch was obviously trying to figure out which Jade loved more.

At that moment Jade's stomach let out a low growl, looking over at the food Jade stated still smiling broadly "I'm going to go get some food, I'll be back in a sec if either of you want to join me" And with that she got up and started towards the food.

Brief Explanation: Anatole and Alexx (and maybe others, but these two I know for sure) do end up leaving the ball with Elena Jones. However, we agreed that in order for this to happen, we need a few more posts in the ball for conversational purposes. That being said, this post is before Anatole leaves (permission given by Anatole Evans, plotted 4/1/19).

Turning her attention to the first year, Alexx smiled, very relieved that she was found. It was truly amazing how many people she really knew. Once she thought about it, Alexx realized that she had more friends than she really considered. Finley was not someone who she expected to enjoy being around. It had very little to do with her as a person, but really, Alexx didn't seem to be around first years a lot. She had no reason to be. However, after meeting Finley and passing an excessive amount of notes, she decided that this was someone who she would enjoy being around.

She smiled, nodding her head. "Indeed, it has been a while," Alexx confirmed, tilting her head. She reached onto her shoulder and pulled Rosalie down, presenting her to Finley. "This is Rosalie. She's my new pet," she explained, watching the ball rotate around on her palm. She smiled fondly at her companion, thorough enjoyment filling her. Somehow, Alexx knew that Rosalie would draw people to her.

Before she could continue the conversation, out of the corner of her eye, Alexx spotted a familiar face. Well, she had seen him around before, though she would admit that the two had never really interacted. But he was Anatole Evans, formed Head Boy. How could anyone in her year or up not know about Anatole? The better question was- what happened to this kid, anyway? She always sort of suspected that he was a burn out; got tired of playing a part and ditched or something. Kind of like when you start in school really smart but as the years go on you have no will to continue it and everything slips away from you? Secretly, Alexx always figured that happened to Anatole. Being Head Boy must have been hard work, anyway, so no one could really blame him. Besides, now they had-! Well, no one, actually. But it was cool. Life at Hogwarts went on.

Turning back to Finley, Alexx started up again. "Sorry to change topics so quickly, but you see that boy right there?" She asked, gesturing discretely in the direction of the Former Head Boy. "That's Anatole Evans. You might not remember him too well if at all, or maybe you've head of him- I don't know. The point is that I think we should go say 'hi', be... Ya know... Nice." She didn't really know what else to suggest, all she knew was that she needed to meet Anatole Evans formally. Merlin, how she missed her gossip column days. This would have been the perfect coverage. Slytherin Insider on The Mysterious Anatole Evans: What happened to the beloved Head Boy? Where is he now? What a title that would have made.

Glancing back towards the direction of Anatole, Alexx smiled, inching slightly closer, however not too far away from her friend. "Anatole!" She called out, hoping to grab his attention. She didn't know how well he would take to a stranger's approach, though she secretly hoped he wasn't hostile or anything. Perhaps, though, he would recognize her as a staff member. That is- if he knew. She joined the team after he left, but maybe word got around to him? However, Alexx wasn't exactly a big shot; she wasn't popular, nor was she hanging around a crowd that stood out from the rest. Alexx drifted and found herself emerged in little groups and friendships here and there, but she didn't find herself being popular. So, maybe not. However, there is always time for first impressions.

Finley was extremely excited to see a small pet like Alexx had! It had been so long since she had seen her family cat, which was rather bratty, and the miniscule furry thing reminded her of the feline friend. Of course, Alexx looked beautiful, but Finley would rather be entranced in this ball of fluff. As the girl pulled the thing, introduced as Rosalie, off her shoulder, Finley let out a light squeal of joy and tried to pick up the thing. ”Aww! She’s so cute!” It clearly wasn’t used to her touch, so she jumped back her hand as the Pygmy Puff came closer. ”Little...feisty, isn’t she?” She laughed, smoothing out her yellow frock. While Finley was entranced by the girl’s pet, the other girl was busy scouting out the region. While Alexx was thinking strategy, Finley thought affection. While Alexx thought of legends and rumours, Finley thought of the singular moment: sweet and lovable. It was even safe to say that Finley loved this girl even more just because of her pet, who slowly warmed up to her touch. Rosalie was just so adorable!

”Huh?” Finley was snapped out of her rose-colored pet trance when Alexx’s voice ran back into her ears. Something about a boy? None of her instances with boys so far had been good. ”Yeah, I see him...behind that table?” The name Alexx brought up held very little meaning to Finley. She hadn’t paid much attention to student government, and at this point didn’t even know who her Prefects were! ”His name doesn’t sound too familiar…” Finley remarked with a grimace. ”Last time a Slytherin told me to say hi to a boy across the room, I had to hug a boy in a teddy bear suit. You’ve got to be sure about this!” She was rather blunt with her statement, but Alexx had a much nicer first impression, so she decided to trust her for once. ”Alright, fine…” Finley accepted her offer and walked over to the boy, making sure Rosalie was falling right behind.

As Alexx called the boy’s name, Finley made sure to remember it. He sounded oddly important from Alexx’s point of view. Anatole Evans. Anatole Evans. ”Uhm, hi Anatolieee,” Finley mispronounced. ”I’m Finley McGill. Nice to meet you!” This plot sounded oddly familiar, so Finley decided to bite into her cupcake more, cross her fingers, and hope for the best.

The boy arrived on the floor a tad bit late, but it was such a hassle getting dressed without creasing his suit, and with the added challange of the wheelchair, he had a valid excuse. His appearance though, was worth it I believe.

Unlike the other males, who wore plain, or childish suits, Rowan wore something... extraordinary, because well... he was a rich pure blood, with a father who simply wouldn’t accept him looking like anything but the most important guest at the event.

His hair had been swept back, the usually unruly curls flattened with some product, so it was slicked. Some blue gems and silver studs adorned the many piercings in his ears. Khol lined his eyes, only making his pale eyed gaze sharper. Simple silver bands adorned his fingers, shimmering in the light as he rolled through the grass.

And finally, the crowning jewel. The suit. The pale flowers adorning the blazer seemed to sway gently with the ripple of the fabric. A tie to match. And the black shirt only further in contrast with his fair complexion.

Rowan looked over the crowd, smiling slightly. So many careless youths. His eyes landed on one person in specific though. Miko.

The male rolled over to him, the same smile on his face as he approached. His harsh gaze would seem to cut into him though, more intimidating than he really ment it to be.

“Hello again, Miko.”
