I keep getting a sneaky suspicion that we're supposed to clean their dishes as well. Now, I'm usually fine with it if it's for conferences (since the guest numbers are small in these cases and it's for a formal event) but for normal students still living in accommodation, it can get pretty hectic. As an example, today, there's a whole collection of dirty dishes towered on a small counter they have in their kitchen. Even if I was meant to, there was no way was I going to do them - I barely had enough time to do the stairs and front entrance as it was.

But more so the fact that it's not a cleaner's responsibility to clean their own dishes. We go in to do the surfaces, floors and maybe take the rubbish out if need be. We shouldn't be picking up every single piece after them. Otherwise there's no self discipline or code of hygiene they'll actually abide by. If we do absolutely everything for them, then surely they'll leave everything dirty and think we'll clean up after them in every sense, and that's how these buildings get so bad.

Not me. Even when I lived in accommation the cleaners never did our dishes.
