Well I did lamprey, frog and earthworm in 6th grade Earth Science whilst I'm currently a Junior in high school (11th grade) and I chose to be in Anatomy, you don't have to take that class or your school might not even offer it.

Dead ones don't bother me. It's the LIVE dissections that are disturbing.
As a science major, one of my requirements was dissecting a live frog.
Mine was not properly sedated (by the professor who was in charge, even), so the event was...a little traumatizing.
