"Yes I just love it. It is so comforting to see commotion." She smiled at him and looked around at all of her housemates. They would probably hate her so much. She didn't care any more. So she continued to eat her food some more. Hearing clary she looked toward her.. "Yes I did cut my hair. It was to long." She sounded slightly annoyed. She turned her attention back to the Slytherin boy and smiled. She loved that everyone was staring at them. She hoped they wouldn't hate her from now on though. "My house will probably have a different opinion on me from now on."

She looked back at her food and ate some mash potatoes and green beans. She stabbed some of her meat with her fork idly as she observed everyone at her table. Kaegen still looked like he might attack any second now. "Want to go somewhere else where there aren't so many glowering faces?" She smiled at him as she asked curiously. She could still hear the whispering of her tribe mates.  She didn't mind but she didn't want them to hate her for the rest of her seven years at Hogwarts. So she sat and waited for his response.

People's voices were sort of buzzing around around him, he had shut them out. Every muscle twitch the slytherin boy made was watched as closely as Kaegen could manage. Why was no one else worried about this? Was he the only student with any sort of common sense?
Smoke started billowing out of Kaegen's collar, smelling like plastic burning, but worse. Vortigern had gotten restless, his humming had worked too well. Oh well, if no one did anything soon, he was going to have to make sure that slytherin never bothered them again. What kind of battle plan was this anyway, send in one boy to cause some mischief? Kaegen had studied animals, he knew how to make them stop. Take out their base. Could a acidum salamandra imperium burn down the door to their dorms? Probably, unless it was magic or something. He would have to study pretty hard to get a chance. The smoke was coming out thicker and thicker. The salamander was melting the vial Kaegen carried him in. This was probably not the best thing that could be happening. Would vortigern even know who the enemy was? Would he just melt the face off of some ravenclaw? Maybe Kaegen could throw the salamander over to the slytherin table before he got too much acid spit over Kaegen's housemates.
Now they were going to leave? Was that good, or bad. Should he stop them or let them go?
This would be a whole lot easier with some help.

Clary resisted the growing 'bout of resentment she was formulating for Eri Windstone, a girl she had once thought was a sweet, and rather interesting member of her house. Nowadays, the girl always traveled around with a more serious expression, and her short hair made her resting judgemental face much more prominent. She'd never been scared of the girl, per sé, but something just felt a bit off about her. Shaking her head, Clary ignored the thought, until she heard Eri murmur that she loved 'to see commotion'.  What was that supposed to mean? Was she trying to start a fight at the Ravenclaw table? No matter what, Ravenclaw should come first before members of the other house, and although she had no issue with the Slytherin boy's presence, she did have an issue with the fact that they were both actively trying to entice trouble.

She frowned, hearing the sharp tone in Eri's reply, and resisted the urge to roll her eyes, prepared to go back to her own meal before she noted smoke billowing out of Kaegan's collar. She turned the Ravenclaw boy hesitantly, offering him a questioning look as the acrid smell of burning plastic wafted into the air. What magical creature was slipped up his sleeve at this point? She noticed a curious gleam in Kaegan's eyes and could tell he was plotting something, though what, she had no idea of knowing. Claryssa shook her head and glanced warily in Kaegan's direction. "Kae, don't try anything..." she warned quietly, glancing over in James' direction for a bit of backup. If the Slytherin boy and Eri were trying to entice conflict, then Clary wasn't about to let Kaegan give them the satisfaction of succeeding.

She started eating her food calmly. She started smelling the smell of burning plastic. Oh no vortigen. She thought. He better not through it at the slytherin table. She shot a warnign glance at kaegen before going back to her food. It was very quiet there and she wished everybody would stop staring at her it made her very uncomfortable. She could handle the low whispers but the stares that was to much for her to handle right then.

So she continued to observe everyone quietly. She could tell she was being silently judged. She made a mental note to apologize to her house when she got to the common room. Maybe it would go better than this. It was just sometimes so hard to hide her real personality. She couldn't just stay quiet when something like that happened. She smiled to herself and decided to just leave so Kaegen would calm down."Okay Kaegen calm down I'm leaving." She turned towards the Slytherin boy." If you want you can join me in the library." She gathered her satchel and stood up from the table and headed for the door taking one last look at everyone before leaving the great hall.

That was... What?
What just happened? The girl had gone from being confident, enjoying the chaos and potential mischief to looking hurt? What? What was he supposed to do now? It threw everything off, didn't make any sense. What had happened? He had been looking so closely, there is no way he missed something, was there? He didn't think anything had changed in the environment, but honestly he had been too busy staring and planning his potential attack of the slytherin forces.
It was the most bizarre thing, did all people do this? Kaegen was at a crossroads. He had been reasonably sure a second ago but this was a monkey wrench he hadn't even dreamed about. Who could have predicted this? Was it a trap?
The smoke kept getting thicker and thicker, he did not have very much more time before vortigern freed himself. Should he attack? There must have been something he missed, there must be!
Kaegen's eyes started flashing around, faster and faster, trying to find that thread of information he missed. He had to have missed something, and attacking anything without knowing as much as possible was pure folly. It was suicide. And Kaegen would much, much rather live and take his time.

"I'd love to join you," Xeno replied, standing up and following Eri out the room. As he passed Kaegen, he smirked, and while he knew it was risky, this was just too good of an opportunity. "Something stinks in here anyways." He wrinkles his nose in exaggerated disgust, shooting Kaegen a challenging look as he walked away, and while his pace was steady, he didn't exactly take his time, using catching up with Eri as reason for his hasty retreat.

As he left the hall, he looked back at the Ravenclaw table, and in one final move, he called across the room to Kaegen. "Seems like you'd be a decent opponent, with those tricks of yours. Maybe I'll see you at duelling club at some point." Of course, Xeno had no intentions of actually showing up, as not only did he dislike fighting, but he had no idea of how to actually duel. He barely even knew any offensive spells. Turning away, he walked confidently by Eri's side, smirking at her conspiratorially. "So, the library, huh? I haven't actually been there yet. You'll have to point out the good books to me. Especially ones to do with potions and magical creatures"

"At the dueling club?"
Kaegen's face was starting to change. His voice that once resembled a gust of wind gently rustling some leaves was quickly becoming a storm cloud, his smile was growing and growing, becoming a grin, some would even call it a grimace. A challenge. He had not had a challenge in so, so long. Everything in hogwarts except maybe the stairs and floor, were soft. He was going to grow weak if he kept this up. His hands retreated into his robe as he leaped off the table with a gigantic bound.
Landing on the ground, his eyes winced slightly. This dang stone floor was going to be the death of him. "I'll fight you now, turn around and face me."
Whipping out his slingshot and a single stone he grinned at the slytherin boy, his adrenaline had already started to pump, he was ready for this. The smoke coming out of his robe had started to obscure his vision. All you could see of the ravenclaw boy's head was his stark eyes and chesire grin. The smoke was going to be a problem, it was so hard to see through it. But it was alright, he could handle this anyway. In the fens he tangled with all manner of beast. He didn't feel at home without some form of challenge, some form of combat.
This was going to be amazing.

She didn't exactly approve of the what Xeno said but she stopped and whipped around facing Kaegen. Her wand drawn. "Kaegen stop being defensive. This is not the place to fight." She still looked hurt. She pushed Xeno out of the great hall. Man things were getting out out of control.  She needed to make things right with Kaegen. She would do that later. In the common room when she could talk with him without the eyes of a Slytherin. Her thoughts began to swirl in her head. This was becoming to much. Would one of her first friends hate her from now on? She frowned.

She would never shoot a friend but she did no a spell she could use to defend herself. It would help her protect her and the Slytherin from Kaegen's projectiles. So she made her face serious. Her emotions on her face were very stone cold. So she pointed her wand at him again."Put the slingshot down Kaegen." People were staring at her like she was crazy. Did she care right now? Yes a little bit. She already destroyed her reputation with some people. She stared at him with no emotion so he couldn't read how she was feeling.

Was he allowed to fight with a member of his own house? It looked like she wanted to, though.
Why was none of this covered in orientation? She had her wand out, but it didn't matter. The only spells the first years had been taught so far was a pathetic levitation charm and maybe lumos. Tops. His slingshot would be more than enough to contend with what for all combat purposes was only slightly better than a piece of wood. So he kept it trained on the slytherin.
Why was this place not the place to fight? It was a common grounds, open with plenty of space to move about. It was one of the best places to fight, come to think about it. You had backup ready if you needed it, there was food for after the fight when you were hungry, and if anyone got close to death a professor was probably on hand to help out with that.
She was telling him to put his slingshot down. That was insane! If he put it down, then he would be essentially disarming himself. Letting his guard down for the slytherin, who said that Kaegen would be a decent opponent. That meant that he was at least as strong as Kaegen. Why on earth would someone from his own house suggest something like that?
Maybe she just didn't understand the situation. That's the scenario that made the most sense anyway.

"Diffindo" She shot a a beam of light towards him when she actually meant protego. "I'm warning you Kaegen I know more defensive spells than you think." She stood in shock as she realized what she had done. Hiding her emotions she looked at him and frowned. Would he really just want to fight the Slytherin boy? She sighed. She turned towards Xeno. "I'm going to find somewhere to think. You can deal with this." She said shakily. By somewhere she meant go to the library and hide. She looked at all of them. She observed her classmates as she turned towards the exit.

Her mind was about to explode. She kind of whishes she let the Slytherin sit with the other boy. She thought he was nice and everything, but she had worked so hard to make friends and now she has to remake more friends. She sighed and wiped some stray hair off of her face. She put her wand away into her robe and frowned. Looking at nobody in particular she forced a smile to herself. Only her friends knew she hid in the library but she hoped they didn't go to check on her. Then she left and headed to the library.
(If anyone wants to. I am setting up a thread in the library as a continuation.)
