Why do you want to be a mentor? First when I joined the site, I was really confused about how the forums and roleplaying in general worked. So I totally understand when new members also feel that kind of confusion, and I want to help them. Since I've been on the site only for 6 months, I'm still kinda familiar with those feelings, especially after the slight change in the layout . I also try my best to answer owls and questions as soon as I can/as soon as I have an answer, and I personally don't enjoy leaving people on read for a long time, especially if they just have a harmless question about how the site works. Even when my friend joined the site, after I did, she kept asking me questions about stuff she was didn't know, ironically, I'd been on the site for just a few months and didn't know much either, but could still answer her questions. (I know very well that mentors can't/aren't allowed to mentor their irl friends. My first step was to tell my friend to sign up in the mentorship programm and she did. But she still asked me stuff instead of her mentor. She's not that active on the site anyway.

Why do you want to be a mentor? I remember feeling quite lost upon arriving. It was my first time joining an RP site; navigating the creation, let alone writing, of a character was confusing. Having been here for a while now and thus familiar with the site's functions, I feel that I should contribute back to this community in some way. The programme is also instrumental in creating connections for both the mentor and the mentee.

Why do you want to be a mentor? I started as a mentor in 2022, became Mentor Team Co-Lead in 2023, returned to Mentor briefly in 2024. I am applying because I'd like to have something to do, I do not like not having a reason to do anything onsite, and this gives me something to do and a reason.

Why do you want to be a mentor? I remember when I first joined site, I was completely unaware this was roleplay. I genuinely thought this was a game and I had never roleplayed before, so I had no idea what the community etiquette was, and I was very nervous and self-conscious of everything I did. And, most of all, I felt incredibly lost. My mentor helped me greatly and so did the friends I made along the way. They all taught me the ins and outs of the site, how to roleplay, and I have grown to truly love this community. I have a strong desire to help people, and I wish to pass on the community's values to the next generation of players, help someone who may feel just as lost as I did, and guide them in times of need so that they may love H.io as much as I do.

By the time I found the mentorship programme, it was a little too late to make use of it however I was incredibly lucky to talk and get help from some lovely members of the Hio community who were incredibly patient and helpful, for which I am very grateful. Why do you want to be a mentor?

I want to be a mentor because I have been in this site long enough to know the ropes and how it works, gotten used to the new layout so navigation is fairly easy for me to go around with. Many people had helped me along my way with how the site works and getting started though I never gotten the chance to use the mentee program this is my way of getting into it. I want to help those who are newcomers and those who never even roleplayed before in the style we do, so a helping hand can be beneficial. I want them to have a wonderful experience in HIO just like how I did when I was once new, I've grown so much since then. I can't wait to see others grow and have fun just like it should be!
