Chess Combat (Match 1)

Okay they had pulled it back into their hands.. Barely. Jan got hit again, more fire that would seem to have a lasting affect unfortunately but with his willpower he had got a big wave of relief in the form of healing from his own wand. With their combined healing spells thrown his way, he had probably just survived this round.Playing as iNPC Milosh Rehnquist
And then disaster struck in the form of his wand getting snapped out of his grasp. He heard the wand land and roll a distance away, but wasn't sure where as his glare was focused in the direction of his attacker. Damn it. He ran a hand through his curls. Alright, time to improvise until he could his wand back. And hopefully soon as the game was drawing to an end and the health points were very narrow.

Chess Combat (Match 1)
Alexander saw the situation and acted quickly, he could not allow one of his team members to just burn. So he quickly aimed his wand and said “Extinguo”, then moments after he saw with some measure of satisfaction how the flames on his teammate died down. Yet moments later he saw how she got hit by another spell, seeming to push the air out of her.
Alexander then looked around the battlefield, seeing the slog that was going on. The long, bloody battle with so much pain on both sides. Was this closer to what a real war was like ? Not moments of glory but rather this long, tiring protracted battle where neither side had the edge. Where the balance of power could change at any moment.
Perhaps, but he had to focus on the battle itself now. It was far from won and he still had his part to play.

There was a swell of pride when her spell hit, despite her target's attempts to heal himself. He was just borrowing some time for himself, no reason to worry yet. Equal to her pride was the relief of her own teammate putting the flames on her shoulder out. Sure, it didn't quell the pain, but it was better then being aflame. That relief was short lived though when she took a knock-back to the chest that nearly took her breath away. Nearly. It at least hadn't been enough to actually push her back.
Illowy never could be sure why, but it always sparked something in her when she took a hit. The shock of adrenaline maybe that unchained something in her; made her want to hit back harder, fiercer. It made the game more fun. What was that phrase? What doesn't kill me, better run.
I was told I was dangerous. When I asked why, they said, "Because you don't need anyone." That's when I smiled.

The longer it continued, the more one-sided the match seemed to become. Half of the visiting team was motionless on the field, while Jan tried to extinguish the flames dancing on his clothes. Illowy, amidst the chaos, had the calm and presence of mind to heal herself a little, while the rest of her team remained on the offense. The flames spurting from Santario's wand left Jan swaying on his feet and once again aflame, while Alisa managed to dodge Alexander's attack. Milosh, wandless, made a frantic attempt at dodging the spells coming his way, but only succeeded partially: Gracefully twisting out of the way of Ileen's Knockback Jinx left him open to Bridget's perfectly aimed (and quite nearly perfectly cast) Flipendo. That probably hurt.
The match was nearing its end. If the international team wanted to turn it back around, they would need a good strategy.

It seemed to Ileen that her team just needed some time to calibrate to the opponents. They stood well and were able to protect Alexander, and they had created a gap on the opposing queen. Although the other students were older than most of their own team, they had somehow managed to gain the upper hand.
An excited smile flitted across her face and her brown eyes sparkled. Although her own spell missed the target, another flash of light came flying over her shoulder and hit the boy squarely.
The young Slytherin bit her lips resolutely and tried not to let the burgeoning elation carry her away. Everything could still change. They had an advantage right now, but it could be used against them just as quickly. She felt increasingly confident to act in the group and knowing Bridget at her back, who had already given her valuable tips in the first hours, reassured her additionally.
Her thoughts were focused on only one goal. She wanted to win. She wanted to make her team proud.

Crap it wasn't looking good for them anymore. The small lead they had slipped away from them yet again. Milo would curse under his breath. He got slammed again with another Flippendo and braced himself for impact. Shaking it off, his legs becoming slightly shaky, he felt his energy was draining quick. What made him fired up again was Jan only managed to put out one flame, then getting hit with another spell by a Slytherin girl. Not too many rounds ago she was on the verge of death but she had come back. Damn. It was his fault for not having a strategy and now, he couldn't even do anything without his wand. The boy curled his hands into fists and nodded to Jan. "It's almost over." He closed his eyes, letting out a slow exhale before opening them again, fixating his dark orbs on the enemy team. It was a stretch but maybe..Playing as iNPC Milosh Rehnquist

They were so close to the end, and all she could hope was that they continued to prevail. The rook across from her had done precisely what she had thought he would do. While Jan had extinguished one set of flames from himself, he still took damage from the other set, and even then, Santario’s determination was not about to let him feel any more satisfaction. If he wanted to stay standing, he was going to have to fight for it. She had told him to sit and now stay.
Their queen didn’t look like he was doing so hot, but she supposed he wouldn’t be feeling so great without his wand for the rest of the duel they had rendered him basically useless. A feeling that Santario did not envy one bit. A quick scan over the rest of her opponents and teammates told her what she needed to do.

INTERACTIONS: Guest Team
Everything was going to tatters and there was not a single thing Jan could do to reverse that. He had mangaged to barely just scrape by before someone had the marvelous idea to try the flame thing again and much to his immense frustration and also horror, the flames lapped away at him robbing him of some much needed relief as he dropped to one knee, his wand hand shaking. "Cut..it..out." He forced the words out saying it more to himself than anyone else really. They had been doing so well at the start until Rodion had gotten completely folded like a napkin and now apparently, he was second on the list.
A low growl erupted from his throat, a sound mixed somewhere between pain and frustration. This was not he had planned for things to go and that whole speech he had been giving to himself in his head about not giving up didn't seem as much of a great idea. If he was gonna go down, he was going to take someone with him. Jan didn't care who it was but someone was going to have answer for this offense as he struggled to his feet attempting to pat out the flames to no avail. "You asked for this then." If they wanted to really test some boundaries, Jan was more than happy to give them a display of what happened when you prodded someone too much. Well, if he didn't completely burn to ash before that as a spark of pain shot up his shoulder grimacing a bit. This was not going to be a fun ending neither for him nor his opponets.

A small scowl appeared on Alexander's face as he saw how Alisa had managed to just get out of the way of the Flipendo. Dodging by only a small margin and sending his spell dissipating into the distance.
Thus he furrowed his browns once more and tried to focus again. Feeling the weight of his wand in his hand and gaging the situation on the battlefield. With what he saw being a good sign. For he saw how the tide of battle was slowly but surely beginning to edge towards the Slytherin duelling team. Though it was hardly definite yet, the possibility of a Slytherin victory was slowly edging closer. But to achieve it, he had to do his own part as well. And as such Alexander jumped back into action.
