𝓐madea was seriously regretting walking over to this giant group of people. She definitely should have waited for one of her tentmates, no matter how tense the situation was; Amadea would take the tension over the awkwardness of the amount of people that were here any day. It seemed that everyone was too busy fawning over the Durmstrang boys that were at the barbeque to really even notice her, which almost made the situation even more awkward. Not only was Amadea standing around with a bunch of random people she didn't know, but they were a bunch of random people that weren't even interested in talking to her.

She fought the urge to roll her eyes. She didn't understand why all of the girls were so obsessed over the boys. Sure, they were pretty good looking but they all had these giddy expressions on their faces as they surveyed the crowd. She gave a small smile to the boy who was standing in the circle along with all of the girls, as he had introduced himself as Alexei.

Amadea turned back to Frost, who had greeted her with a smile. "It seems like you've gathered quite a crowd," she teased, knowing that it wasn't the Hufflepuff who had gathered all the girls. "We have to find a time to catch up, somewhere a lot less busy than this!" Amadea said. She felt like she had missed out on a lot of potential bonding during her third year because she had been gone for so much of it; she was hoping that she could make up for some of that this summer.

"Anyway, let me know when you have a spare minute and we can make plans to catch up!" Amadea said with a bright smile. There were way too many people to here to properly catch up with anyone and it seemed like Frost was preoccupied with all of the boys here as well. She figured she could dip out before too many people arrived. That wasn't breaking the pact she had made to herself, right? After all, she had made an appearance at the event. She had never specified an amount of time she had to stay at it. Amadea waved at the group, wondering if any of them would even notice as she slipped away, heading back to her tent. Sure, the tensions in the tent were quite awkward, but it was marginally less awkward than standing around with a group of girls gawking at the Durmstrang boys.

Exeunt Amadea.

Hearing the girl introduce herself as Phyllis he gave her a pointed side-way glance. It was not all too difficult to guess where she was from as her accent would tell him in an instant. From that it was also easy to conclude that she must be from Ilvermorny. She would repeat the very same introduction towards Ella, making the corner of his mouth twitch in amusement. When Ella would introduce him the two of them, the Durmstrang student, he would sigh. ”Jag har redan presenterat mig själv”

He got jabbed into the side by the dhampir which made a smirk escape him as he directed it towards the pale boy. The girl that had previously joined them soon enough, clad in Hufflepuff clothes had stopped talking. The boy would surely not take her food. It was of course Phyllis' time to speak her mind again, letting them all know that Howard preferred raw meat. He doubted that she knew the dhampir for much longer than he did as they did not quite seem like buddies, so he could not help but scowl in displeasure. He couldn't stand it when people budged into a conversation and replied for others, it was seen as rude by common etiquette. She even confirmed seconds later that she had just met Howard. Perhaps etiquette was not taught in Ilvermorny, if that was the case he was happy to be born where he lived and go to Durmstrang. He was quite lucky as it was a rarity to have Muggle-borns interrupt a class to ask nonsense questions about the magical world. But he had to admit it was amusing to see the dhampir scramble to explain himself and safe the situation by himself.

When Greta who was a friend of Ella joined their group, she greeted his sister and then him, calling him by that damned nickname which resulted in an immediate glare from him. She should know better than to call him that, they had known each other for a while after that. But since she was quick to apologize he bit back a snarky remark and inclined his head in a light greeting. He wondered where she had lost her brother again, but quickly moved on to focus on the conversation lazily. When she shared her disappointment about not being in a tent with Ella, he could have rolled his eyes. He was kind of happy that there were not even more people in their tent, he already couldn't stand three of the people in his tent, he wouldn't need someone in addition to that to ruin a good nights rest.

"De är inte mina vänner,” he would correct his sister swiftly when she implied he was friends with any of the three others in their tent. "Bara Disa." His sister should have known better but there were no hard feelings. He had been clear but not mad for her assumption, which already hinted that she might be special. After all he would rarely snap at her and only mildly if he did at all.

At the grill he would start to gather what he needed for a burger but he would leave all the fresh ingredients behind for now so that he could focus on the person who would be responsible for grilling the food. A kid he barely knew would bother to join them as well [Ash Andwiltz] but Nichlas did not even bother to pay him any form of attention as he headed towards one of the professors he could see; one who was not a creature or overwhelmed. "Sir/Miss, could you perhaps grill this burger and roast the buns for me?", he asked calmly, but annoyance was not hidden from the tired look in his eyes.

"I'm here to babysit my sister," he would let the girl from Ilvermorny know when she asked whether they were on the Quidditch teams. "She is in the team, so she had to come." It was simple as that. If it was not for his parents wanting him to watch out for Ella, since this would be a whole other country, he had to come along. And Ella had to go because she was the second string seeker of the team. Not wanting to be here without anyone he actually got along with as he did not want to third wheel constantly, he had convinced Disa to join them. Little did he know that they had to share the tent with more than just the three of them. The interactions with strangers found no ends as another unfamiliar girl joined them, one that seemed to know Phyllis which made him think that perhaps they shared a school. As she began to speak his assumption was confirmed as her accent clearly showed. He would just let the situation pass by as he waited for his burger to grill so that he could finish assembling it. He was looking forward to everyone having some food, because conversations usually calmed down as soon as that was the case. Then again there were those who had no plan of social etiquette so who knew whether he could eat in peace.

She almost choked on her food - and her own words - as Meenauh spoke up after moments of silence. Nothing about the food or the apology, oh no. The Gryffindor prefect decided to voice her thoughts on the whole situation - and Caradoc's feelings - claiming that he liked her. Really really liked her.

Hjørdis swallowed the bite she had in her mouth, as carefully as she could before taking a sip of the juice. It took her several moments to reply - mostly because she was trying very hard not to choke on the food or 'ahem'.

Caradoc's feelings were... not subtle. Although he had never voiced them to her, Hjørdis had suspected for a little while now. But it had reached the level where random students also noticed. Not entirely surprising given how... weird his behaviour was. He literally walked over to apologise, asking for a burger and not taking it and was... odd, for the lack of a better word. A part of her hoped that it was not true. It would be so much easier if he did not actually have any feelings for her, beyond friendship. They were friends. It was perfect this way. Anything more would just ruin their friendship. And she did not want to risk that. He was likely the closest friend she had. It was just not worth the risk...

Her gaze flickered through the crowd to spot him. Lowering the glass of cranberry juice from her lips, she placed it back onto the arm of the bench, "Perhaps. But who doesn't, Miss Silmataurea?" She replied in her usual vanity. It was the easiest way to respond to this. She was arrogant enough to believe that anyone who was into women was likely into her. Of course, this was not true. But she could maintain her usual arrogance to act as though it was. At the very least, she was not throwing him entirely under the bus. Though, admittedly, he was not doing himself any favours. With that, she resumed eating her burger - at a normal pace - allowing the quiet to fall over them as her mind wandered on the matter. Caradoc... 'really really' liking her... was a bad idea... It would not end well, would it? Mentally, she sighed.

This was another reflection of Bloom needing to get herself out there. She needed to be back to her old self-- the kind of person who can start a conversation with anyone, not caring about what they thought. What better than to practice this interpersonal skill than right now? Plus, most of the students were from Durmstrang... She wasn't going to see them again... She thought.

Bloom finished her burger and grabbed a cup of water to drink. She began to walk around and saw so many people forming their own cliques already. Some were just Durmstrang, others were just Hogwarts, but most were intertwined between the two houses. There were quite a lot of extroverts attending both schools. Bloom used to be one, but suddenly became more and more introverted. Bloom looked around and saw that there was a seat that wasn't filled with a large crowd. She sat down, sitting next to a boy from Durmstrang.

Should I say hi? He doesn't look like he wants people to talk to him..., Bloom thought, looking at the boy from the corner of her eye. Maybe she was wrong? Maybe he was looking for someone to talk to and he was just like her... Not knowing where to begin.

Bloom took a deep breath and turned her head to the boy next to her. "Hi... I'm Bloom Silverton," she introduced herself, a small smile appeared on her face to show her friendliness. "Crowds aren't your thing either, huh?" she asked, starting up some kind of conversation with him.

Watching @Hjørdis Jensen and conversing
What was the woman thinking? Several moments passed between the question and the answer. Enough time to die from suffocation if the goddess would choke with the goddamn halloumi burger. That would be unfortunate. Meenauh met her up close when she was handing her the halloumi burger the previous year. And no one from them would know the next year would be the last time they would meet.

But the woman was a strong controller of her body and emotions. Despite the choking reflexes from the potentially unexpected question, Hjørdis Jensen managed to cope with it. And not only to quickly recover from a 0.02% death opportunity but also to come up with a witty answer.

But what did she mean by who doesn't? Was she referring to the undeniable fact of her striking beauty no living being could calmly pass by? Meenauh wondered whether the goddess was a part-veela or something because even watching her at that moment — an elegant process of eating a burger with all the roasted fat slowly dripping onto the plate; pieces of the contents constantly trying to fall down, when not properly held; sauces insidiously making their ways onto the thin delicate fingers... Even watching her at that moment was something that brought joy to any silent admirer.

Meenauh wordlessly continued to eat her last burger, while her beautiful neighbour continued to eat hers. Meenauh felt a sudden inflow of warmth, a touch of a friendly aura that makes a person feel good under any circumstances. A few minutes passed, but they weren't awkward for Meenauh, they were the minutes of understanding. And also minutes of curiosity, because Meenauh was looking for ways to move forward with their conversation.

"You are, indeed, a beautiful woman, professor. I am sorry if I involuntarily touched a sensitive topic," she started, "I know little about the actual liking of boys, to be honest. I read too many books on psychology and human relationships, but they say that love is not something one could explain easily, no matter how many books are written and read," she looked away at the flickering lights, scattered around the barbeque area.

Where was she heading with that?

"Did you ever love, professor?"

Slowly making his way toward the BBQ area, Zahid took his sweet time to take in how it was pretty much teeming with people already. He had not arrived to as early as his colleagues that were organizing the BBQ and this time there also seemed no need for him to get involved making potato salads as he spontaneously volunteered for helping with at last year's BBQ, so he had felt no particular urge to be there from the very beginning. Better enjoy a last moment or two of relative calm before the storm that was summer camp kicking off. He was not trying to be fashionably late or what it was called that some people did, either. He was most likely far too early still to fall under that category, anyway.

Considering that he was not hungry (or thirsty) yet, Zahid decided to just find a bench to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere. And maybe to people-watch a little, too. He would wait to seek out his colleagues once the first rush of students were all fed and watered, so to speak. Upon finding a free bench next to an empty table, Zahid sat down and put his light summer jacket down next to him on the bench, as it was still warm enough that he had no actual need of it. It would be interesting to see if the students of the other schools behaved differently from their students. Mainly though, he was just relaxing and curious to see if any students would be curious or brave enough to want to engage him in conversation.

The smell of food had lured Percival out of his comfy pure-blood tent and out into the BBQ area of the campgrounds. His stomach was rumbling and waiting a tasty snack, but what that would be was yet to to be found. He gazed around the crowed area and looked over to the food, which was a nice selection of burgers, hotdogs, and anything else was mandatory at a BBQ event. Unfortuneately, it was the kind of food he didn't have regularly. Back home a chef always cooked them the finest meals, not the lower class kind of food like the ones being served here. Percy hesitantly walked and helped himself to a beef burger, and decided not to have any toppings added on. All he could do was at least give it a try, what was the worst thing that could happen?

Percy made his over to a bench and slowly sat down next to his history professor, Zahid. He shot a quick gaze over to him and sighed "Evening Professor" before looking back down to the tasty burger with a sigh. Ever so slowly, he took a bite out of the small burger and chewed on its contents. The boy continued chewing until he slowly came to a stop, his faced amused by how unspecial the whole thing tasted. Percy lowered the plate beside him and managed to swallow the excuse of a burger down his throat, making sure to keep a mental note to not get a burger this place again. He slowly shook his head and leaned forwards slightly to put both of his arms on his lap, annoyed that he even decided to taste such a thing "Who would of thought the worst burger in history was made here..."

For the first time in a long time, Maya was excited for the summer camp program that Hogwarts was putting on that included other schools. It was definitely not because of her job chaperoning the students, but rather there was a "Muggle" component that she was leading alongside some of her colleagues and a Prefect. It excited her to have students learn about the muggle world other than the world they live in 24/7. To Maya, it was a great adventure for them to observe and she had the best idea in store for them.

But of course, a program does not just start out with learning but a social interaction for students to meet each other. This was also a great time for colleagues to catch up or meet each other prior to the festivities beginning.

The first part of the program was the "Welcome Barbecue". It was a big to-do with lots of students mingling with each other. Which only meant for more professors to be around to chaperone. No one wanted what happened last October. In addition, Hogwarts students had a knack to start something unforgivable, and the professors were not in the mood.

Walking on the BBQ grounds, her signature red cloak wrapped around her body, Maya looked around. Everyone was having fun and conversing with each other. It felt relaxed. She was relieved to observe such a happy and well-kept activity. The smell of the meat that was barbecuing from one side made her stomach rumble, but she was not yet hungry.

She saw Caradoc in one corner and Hjørdis in another talking to other people. Maya remembered chatting with Caradoc so long ago. She knew of him to be a good person and was there for Maya when she really needed it. Hjørdis, on the other hand, was still a friendship that was slowly being rekindled. Slowly. Maya felt that connecting with her now would be too much and she should give as much space when needed.

Looking some more, she saw a professor sitting alone. It was one that she had never sat down to talk to before. It was Professor Zahid. There was never a moment that they would run into each other and she was far too interested to know more about him and his educational background. From what she already knew, he was the History of Magic professor. She figured the amount of information he knew must be interesting to pick.

Maya walked over to Professor Zahid and put down her red hood, revealing her tightly-knit hair combed back into a bun. On one side of him, there was a jacket that was probably his, and on the other was room for someone to sit. Maya was walking to make her way towards the professor when a student had sat down next to him.

Maya had no clue who the student was. She was only very much aware of students who were third years and higher. She did not make so much of an attempt to connect with students that were in their younger years. As the student was conversing with Professor Zahid, she moved his coat to the side and sat down on the other side of him quietly. Crossing her legs, and leaning her elbows into her knees, she watched the kids ahead of them. She felt that there was no need to ask to sit next to him as it was a barbecue and everyone was conversing one way or another with each other.

The student made a statement that was both terrible, but a good attempt, at connecting with an adult. Maya looked at the student with a small smile, sharing with him that for his age, it was truly a good attempt. Knowing nothing of Professor Zahid, Maya was interested in seeing how he would react to a student who was trying to connect with him. Would he laugh at the statement? Put it down? Who knows.

Sylvain's cool sharp grin showed the joy it gave him knowing that Alan shared his enthusiasm for chocolate frog cards. The avid collector in him hoped the fourth year would take him to get that folio he mentioned awhile back, but it was Sylvain's fault the two hadn't gone yet. Sylvain still needed to find a way to Hogsmeade anyways. The sweet-toothed youth heard there was a candy store with all kinds of treats to try out, and had been dying to get his twinkling fingers on them ever since.

Sylvain hugged Dealla a bit awkwardly from the side, squeezing her neck with his chin on accident. He chuckled and said "Sorry." Sylvain let his hands relax down to his sides rolling his shoulders back and taking a deep breathe after she let go of him. He was doing it! Going to a party! Only there were sort of loads of People! Sylvain chuckled a bit nervously as the circle grew larger and tighter. For now he was still in it.

Seeing Ileen's sparkling smile then put the nervous wizard at ease as her delightful demeanor reminded him of their private conversation in the library before leaving for camp. For someone who had secrets hidden away, the bashful witch certainly didn't let it crack through to the outside. Syl leaned in to give her a quick hug. Sylvain had recently discovered he was a hugger, and she would just have to find a way to adjust to it. "Good to see you Ileen, you look great. Ready for food?"

Syl's eyes lit up at Aida's mention of the cave. Aida had invited him to it once, well, he'd invited himself, but that was besides the point now. If everyone really was going together, he desperately wanted nothing more than to be spirited away for the month-long boredom that awaited him. The shy lad just wasn't certain he could handle their response to his question. So instead of speaking up, he anxiously chose to sit quietly like a dork while they discussed the future without him.

Was homicide socially acceptable in Britain? Alexei doubted it, but when he saw a certain classmate approaching him. Why on earth did Maksim feel it necessary to speak to him? Alexei vastly preferred his brother. Sure, Slava was mildly goofy at times, but he was far better company than the self righteous ass-hat that was Maksim. Alexei snorted at the other boy's words. Just because he somehow still was able to get girls back home did not make him more desirable or better company than Alexei. In Alexei's opinion, he was vastly superior to his classmate in every way except his attention span. Alexei would be the very first to acknowledge that he had an attention span comparable to a goldfish when it came to romance, but that didn't make him less amazing!

"Asshole, it isn't my fault that none of these lovely women want anything to do with you and you have to poach them from me, Alexei said brightly to his unwanted companion. His smile and tone did not even remotely match what he was saying, meaning that anyone who didn't speak Russian would likely think the two boys to be the best of friends. The jerk seemed to have grown to be the same height as Alexei, which Alexei found to be incredibly rude and inconsiderate. Alexei was still vastly more muscular and attractive, but the height thing bothered him more than it should have. No matter, Alexei's brothers and fathers were quite tall, so Alexei would win in the end. He rolled his eyes slightly when Maksim was babbling abut napkins. What a stupid excuse to spend time with a girl... "Why do you need napkins, Maksim? Are you two planning to make a mess?" The boy winked on his last words so that Maksim would know exactly the kind of mess he was implying.

Turning his attention back to the lovely redhead, he switched gears back to his more charming self. "I will count the minutes until you return, Frost," he said, his eyes meeting hers for a moment. As he turned back to his lovely company, some short boy with a girl's haircut crashed into him before practically dumping his cup of punch on Alexei's shoes. "Blyat! Are manner not a thing here?" he exclaimed, his voice irritated as he snapped at the boy in Russian. Unfortunately, he couldn't really say or do more to this little fool at the moment, seeing as he was surrounded by ladies that he didn't wish to make think badly of him by strangling someone. Still, he was here for several more weeks and he resolved to make that idiot pay. "It's nothing," he said, smiling at the boy. Turning back to the girls, he pretended to ignore the boy while slightly sticking his foot out. The motion seemed causal and not even noticeable, but had somewhat questionable intentions. Depending on how flustered the younger boy was, there was a strong possibility that he would not notice the small change in the Russian's stance and trip over the extended leg. Not that Alexei intended for that to happen or anything...

"So, Anastasia, why did you not tell me you had such lovely friends?" he asked, glancing back at his friend (not his friend). "I suppose that, Miss Ariana and Miss Lizzie, that makes us friends as well, since any friends of Anastasia are friends of mine."

Long story short, I survived
