Question of the Day

Why did you choose your character’s name? Was there any significance? Is there meaning behind the name?

I’ll go first: Sabine is a French name that is common in her home country of Ghana. I wanted her name to have some connection to her roots. Blumenthal is a traditionally Jewish surname common in New York after diaspora; I wanted a surname that felt whimsical while also reflecting the diversity of New York City.

I chose Clair because I really liked the sound and meaning to it, I chose the spelling which would normally be the male version because I liked it better for how it looked and it meant the same thing so I thought that was cool Clair or Claire means Clear in French or bright.

I chose the middle name Jean for Clair because I like the meaning which is God is Gracious which I feel like it shows Clair's religion but is also not in you face and I also chose it because I love the name Jean for a girl

I chose Fernandez because again I liked the flow it had with Clair nd because I did not have a plan for Clair and did not expect to stick round for more then a few days I picked it without knowledge of what it meant until later, it means Son of Fernando or Brave traveler which i feel like the second meaning fits her.
