You mean if you join as a first year now (let's say you join in February 2023), you would auto move into your second year on July 1, 2023. Unless you decide to remain a first year and not move up. So what you're asking is whether you should move up to second year or if you should not graduate and be able to rp out your first year by taking 'first year' again.

I'd definitely stay behind a year and not graduate to Y2 or else you'll feel like you're missing out. Unless you activate your new character sometime in September 2023. Then don't stay behind a year as the new term would have just started. Okay I checked your registration date is October 18th, so 6 months from then would be April 18th (unless your validation date is different that is). So yeah if you activated directly after you were allowed to you'd only have 2 months to rp as a first year.

So I'd definitely stay behind a year and not graduate.

Or to make things easier, you could just rp on Ava until August 31st and then deactivate her then and then when your new character arrives you'd instantly be starting a new school year.

Yea, I’d wait and keep them back otherwise you sort of miss out essentially on their first year.

Any new character (regardless of status: pureblood, wizard-born, halfblood, muggle) can go to summer camp if they haven't attended Hogwarts yet. They just can't participate in any games or events there that require stats or abilities because you wouldn't have stats or abilities yet.

I think back in the past they couldn't even go to summer camp but last year for summer camp I think the rules changed and they are allowed to do so now, they just can't participate in games/events that require stats/abilities. We had a few students who hadn't started their school term yet last summer.

I think some had their stats approved by then. I could be wrong.

I don't think so, they joined in July or August and went to summer camp which means they wouldn't be attending Hogwarts or got their stats/abilities approved until September 1st.

Their first year would start September 1st of that year. If they'd joined before July 1st then yes, they'd have their stats/abilities. But if they joined after July 1st they wouldn't have either since their first year would officially start on September 1st.
