You could say the car crash led to Sage's displeasure seeing others sick or injured. Even from a young age, she always wanted to be around when her sister, step-mum, or father were sick. "I want to help them get better!" she would insist.
Her interest in healing particularly started around the time she left home with Cassie and Kora. When Cassie began teaching her about the wizarding world, she'd show Sage books about topics Sage found more interesting. Healing was one of those topics. "It's so cool that there are people that know exactly what to do to make people feel better! I want to do that!" Sage would tell Cassie whenever she'd finish a healing book.
Cassie would smile at her step-daughter. "I'm sure you'd be excellent at it, Sage."
So, with the inspiration of the books and her family, Sage began to study. After Sage began learning, she caught a cold. The cold left her knowing that she could help herself.
Cassie would offer her soup or tea, and Sage would brush it off. "I want to help myself! If I'm going to be a healer one day, I have to treat myself when I get sick."
And so she did. Every time someone at the house would show signs of sickness or injury, Sage would do her research and try to find simple ways to help them. Anytime she'd come home from a run with a scrap, torn muscle, or other running related injury, she'd fix herself up with a bandage and homemade medicine.
Cassie would always be on standby as a resource for Sage, but not long after Sage picked up that first book, she didn't need much help. Cassie would often quiz Sage on healing matters to make sure she wasn't going to accidentally mess up and injure herself or others.
Once Sage started at Hogwarts, she was certain that healing was something she'd be interested in pursuing in her future. She read more and more about healing now that she had the whole Hogwarts library at her fingertips. She was gaining more and more of an interest in helping others feel better and curing illness.
She developed a Healing ability from years of research and the natural gift she had of it. Sage loved the feeling she had whenever she'd get the chance to help Kora or Cassie when they were sick, and she always knew in the back of her mind that she wanted to be a Healer when she grew up.

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: The Muggle Condition
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it): 441/400
Reducio
Despite being a Half-blood, Alyssea always saw herself as more Muggle than magical. After all, her father is the true Half-blood among them and her mother is a Muggle-born. Growing up, magic wasn't really part of her life. She spent more time moving across the globe and singing under the stage lights of her local drama theatres than hitting the books on charms and hexes. Being a threatre kid was hard work! And it took up a lot of time in her life, so much so that she would spend almost every evening for weeks on end at the theatre. There was no time for wizarding magic, just theatre magic.

Besides, her parents always told her to find Muggle alternatives before magical alternatives. If Alyssea had trouble sleeping, some warm milk would be better than a sleeping draught. If Alyssea had any injuries and bruises, there were enough Muggle medicines over the counter that could fix it in a few days. If Alyssea needed any extra energy, chocolates and a can of Coca Cola were the go-to. It was quicker, if she were being honest, than having to sit down and brew a potion. Cheaper, too. If you can do it faster and cheaper the Muggle way, why bother doing it the magical way?

Her first few months at Hogwarts were spent fawning over magic, as expected. She learnt all the spells she could and watched a duel, but the school did have a rule about not using magic unless it was for academic purposes. So, it was no surprise she reverted back to the 'Muggle way' of doing things pretty quickly. If she could carry all her books by hand, there was no need for a levitation charm. Those days when she still duelled and caught fire, she never used the extinguishing charm to put it out. If she was cold, she would just throw on more layers. When it was time to clear out her dorm and prepare for summer camp, Alyssea toiled with squashing all her clothes into her suitcase as if the packing charm wasn't a viable spell. There was the occasional need for a wand-lighting charm when she remembered her phone flashlight wouldn't work and a paper-mending charm if she couldn't find tape, but otherwise, she was pretty close to being a Muggle. The philosophy of 'if you can find a way to do it without magic, do it' was pretty strong. Strong to the point that her best friends Raizel and Zach thought she was a Muggle-born through and through. That had been a pretty rude revelation considering the real Muggle-born between them was Zach.

Without a doubt Kiera is a sight to see. She is just a naturally very pretty girl. Of course Kiera being Kiera wants not just to look good, but to look her very best, always. Using her already pretty self, she always picks out her chest clothes and makes stunning outfits on the daily. Kiera even finds ways to make her Hogwarts Hufflepuff uniform look eye catching! Always styling her hair and doing her makeup, precisely choosing her clothes and spraying her favorite perfume. To keep up with her summery, beachy, vibe, she puts on her summery, beachy, perfume. Kie is a firm believer that scent is part of looking good, you have to smell good to look good! She is not a try hard, and she is not one of those people who only cares about her looks, but she just feels her best when she looks her best. Even on those few days where she decides not to get ready and just leaves herself as she is, she still looks amazing. It is always hard for anyone to look away from her. It used to bother her quite a lot when she was a little bit younger, wondering why everyone would stare, not quite understanding it yet, but as she grew older, she started to like it. It made her feel even more beautiful, which is why she started making sure that she would always look her very very best. On the rare occasion it still does make Kie feel fairly nervous when she knows she is distracting, feeling all weird about it. She never wants to be the reason to distract others, unless it’s in a duel, then of course she does. The best part about catching the eyes of other people is when those other people are other girls her age, especially the ones in Hufflpuff too. In her own experience, when people notice you, usually they talk to you, and when people talk to you that’s when you start making more friends. Being the only one in her family currently at Hogwarts, with her sister being still to young, she needs to make friends so that she doesn’t spend her years at boarding school alone. It is usually pretty easy for her to make friends as she is very kind and pretty talkative, but catching people’s attention never hurt. Through all of her hard work and natural beauty, she has come to be quite the beautiful young girl.

Ruby’s path towards becoming a healer began at a very young age. She is a smart and curious girl, and has always shown interest in her parent’s activities. Her parents, being caring and nurturing, saw the potential and passion in little Ruby, and have always been supportive of her decisions. They taught her everything they could, and Ruby took in all that knowledge with enthusiasm.
Her mother is a Muggle. But she has been studying herbs and herbal medicine since she was a girl. It has been given down from her parents. She has a lot of knowledge of the healing properties of plants and herbs. She has a garden next to their home, where she grows her own plants. This love she passed on to her only daughter. Ruby has always seen her mother taking care of the plants, and she also grew a love for the plants. In addition, her father planted some magical plants next to the Muggle ones, so Ruby could learn both. She has her own little garden patch, where she grows her own herbs and vegetables.
Ruby’s father is a healer himself at St. Mungo’s hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. He has been Ruby’s example growing up. He often took Ruby with him to work, when it wasn’t busy, and he showed her a lot. It also taught Ruby a lot about compassion and caring for others, traits that are needed to become a great healer. He gave Ruby some books about healing, and read them all, studying the different illnesses and cures.
At school, Ruby always took care of the little ones. She was the first to be there when they fell, and soothed them while helping the teacher tend their scratches. She loved to help them, and as she grew bigger, the teachers let her attend the minor injuries by herself. At home, she extended her knowledge of healing for people, and also started to take care of little animals that came to their garden injured. She would nurse them to health before setting them free again.
Ruby is a kind girl, dedicated, patient and loyal, and was therefor placed into Hufflepuff. It can aid her journey to become a healer, because Hufflepuffs make excellent healers. She is determined and willing to work hard to get where she wants to be. She likes to visit the library, and search for more books on healing.
Her favourite subjects at Hogwarts are Herbology and Potions. This comes in handy, because these are essential subjects to become a healer. The love for Herbology was certainly passed on by her mother, and fuelled by her father. The love for Potions also comes from her mother, who makes a lot of lotions and herbal medicine at home to share in their community. She taught Ruby a lot about the Muggle methods, and now Ruby wants to expand her knowledge in the Wizarding World.

Why This Fits:

After five years of bopping around from Quidditch position to Quidditch position, with none managing to keep her fancy for longer than a few years, Aly Salinger was quite sure she had finally found a home as a Seeker for Ravenclaw.

Keeper had been fun, but it had lost its shine following her father's death. Chaser had been fun too, but after playing only two matches in that position, it had begun to remind Aly far too much of her mother. Switching to Seeker just before the last match of her year had been one of Aly's best decisions at Hogwarts so far, and she was determined not to mess it up. (Especially after the final match of her fifth year, in which Ravenclaw may have won, but the elusive Snitch had slipped from betwixt her fingers, much to her chagrin. At least she had seen it in the end.)

One of the things she had always most admired about Ravenclaw Seekers in the past - and Seekers in general, honestly - was their uncanny ability to spot the Snitch all the way across a pitch just based off of a single glint of gold even on the brightest of days (something which Aly had nearly failed to do during her one and only match as a Seeker). That sort of attention to detail was something Aly strived to get herself, so upon arriving "home" to the Salinger family house for the first week and a half of summer - aka the house in which she now lived with the family house-elf Becca, and the house in which her mother only occasionally slept, preferring her office couch over her empty bed - Aly hatched a plan.

Of course, the plan required Becca's help and a couple dozen eggs. Aly spent the first few days of her summer vacation trying to figure out how to empty the eggs without breaking them entirely, a skill that required a needle and a very steady hand (also something necessary for being a good Seeker). The day after that was dyeing them in various bright colours (Aly would just have used Colovaria if it were allowed, but it wasn't, so hence she resorted to Muggle measures), and then they had to dry, and only then did Aly hand off the eggs to Becca with the request that the kindly old house-elf hide them around the house.

And so it became a daily occurrence, every day for the entirety of the summer (except for the days of camp), no matter rain, shine, or Hesper's appearance: Becca would hide the eggs in the morning, thirty-six of them in total, and then Aly would hunt throughout the house for them, finding each and every one in their strange hiding places. On top of cabinets, hidden behind glassware, perched in a dusty corner, tucked into a mouse hole in the wall - though at first she struggled with finding all three dozen in a day, soon no rainbow egg could escape her rapidly keening eye. Once she found all of them, or (at the beginning) gave up, the soon-to-be-sixth-year would return her findings to Becca, only for the whole process to repeat in the morning.

Would it have been the most entertaining summer for most? No, but Aly quite enjoyed it - and by the end of the summer, not only did she know every nook and cranny of her house even better than she had before, but she could also safely say her eyes were keenly ready for Snitch-searching come fall semester.

Pericles was no stranger to maneuvering through limited lighting. He had spent the last decade of his life sharing a home with a vampire, meaning the curtains were routinely drawn against the day. More often than not, the manor's winding halls and yawning rooms were pitted into a persistent gloom, with the pale heir more inclined to navigate the darkness than to haul around a light source. He maintained a grace to his gliding gait as he made his way through shadows, senses peaked. The soft sounds of his own movement bounced off of obstacles and indicated their nearness. This alternate ability would develop new dimensions through dueling. Pericles had long since lost count of the number of instances in which he had been in plunged into smoke or buried in a dense fog. Through practice and practical application alike, the Ravenclaw learned to utilize his senses beyond sight: listening for the trajectory of an opponent's voice when they called an incantation, bracing to dodge when he heard the whistle of an incoming spell. Pericles was so focused on such a feat, he could not have considered that his own eyes could be taken for granted until one of his was lost.

While the Dralt heir was already known to have a Keen Eye, becoming an animagus refined that fact in fantastic ways. Yet in the same year he acquired the very eyes of an eagle, the rightmost one was ruptured in an unforeseen attack, permanently altering even his most basic daily functions. In weeks of recovery to follow, bruised shins and shoulders from bumping into furniture would be the least of his worries. Peri was prevented from flying as he adjusted to monocular vision. His capacity for depth perception took time and trial to restore, reacquaintancing himself with visual cues, relearning the placement of his own body in the world. He toiled through the trauma, urged on by the subliminal paranoia he might lose the other, forever plunging him into darkness. When he returned to the comfort of his home, Pericles began to train for the possibility. Hours were willingly dedicated to functioning beneath a blindfold. He would tie together all of what he knew: the quiet dark of his upbringing, the chaos of being blinded during duels, and the hard-learned lessons he acquired from living with one eye. As ardently as Pericles honed the sharpness of his gaze, he equally prepared for a life without it.

A courageous heart, a brave soul and unyielding determination.

Traits that Raizel believes that she doesn’t have to the point that she thought the hat had made a huge mistake for putting her in Gryffindor. She had always seen herself as someone timid due to her quiet nature and how she could easily feel nervous when faced with things that are new to her. But what she doesn’t know and realizes is how easy she could toss those feelings aside, awakening the sleeping lion within. Facing challenges before her with determination and courage, not letting fear paralyze her in taking action despite how dangerous a situation is, that is the kind of person she is.

She was a Gryffindor, through and through.

At least, that’s what she hears from people that know her but of course, it took her some time to believe in them, to see that part of her. After all, she sees herself as somewhat far from a true Gryffindor at first. While she does make some stupid decisions every now and then, it was always under the influence of something else like that one time where she drank a spiked juice during a cookie decorating event. Those aren't things she considers bravery but rather foolishness.

Her true bravery shows in situations where she must face her own fears to take action. She would be lying if she said she wasn't scared during her first official duel, much more when her teammates went down one by one until it was only her that remained. Giving up was her only choice, that was so easy to do too but she didn't. Instead, she cast her fears away and fought till the bitter end. It didn't get her that win but it sure did show her courage to take on impossible challenges. You'll never know unless you try, right?

It had always been like that for Raizel. Fear, she always tries to never let it have its way with her whenever a challenge arises, whenever she finds herself in a dangerous situation where your actions matter. She’s not one of those who would let it control her and keep her from achieving her goals or simply trying to change a definite outcome. She is far from a person who had completely casted away any form of fear from their being though as there are still things that she is terrified of in this world. What matters though is that she has enough courage to face those fears which is what she believes in to be the true meaning of being fearless.

Don’t ever let your fears hold you back.

Noah entered Ollivanders, getting another wand seeing as Theodore thought it'd be funny to snap his wand in half. It only irritated Noah. He wasn't as sweet or as innocent as he was several years ago. He was feeling conflicted, like he wanted to dissociate himself from reality as much as he possibly could. If he could barricade himself into a room of his own, of which he didn't have because he shared with his brothers, he might be able to work away some of the anger and hesitations and even the tears he'd cry sometimes when people go too far.

Yes, he knew the phrase (and the song), Boys Don't Cry, but honestly, as conflicted as Noah felt right now, with hormones flaring and having jerky brothers and being behind a year, he felt stupid and alone, that he allowed himself to be trapped in this moment. He wanted to be happy, but how could anyone be happy? He wanted to live life but what point was there to living life if you were only one of millions who tell themselves that they'll mean something in this world daily?

As he went through a test drive with the wand offered to him at the front desk of Ollivanders, it was a good fit, it felt like the wand was someone who knew him well enough, better than people could claim they did. Better than he could claim that he did.

The wood was hawthorn, and he knew the wood liked those complex, like he was, and intriguing. He knew that the wood did best with healing spells, something he was committed to when he was younger a few years prior, but also curses, to which he felt the need to acknowledge because he felt like he was being hurt enough to actually cast one at people. (66 - Wood)

Noah lightly bent the wand, taking notice of how it didn't snap or sound like it was going to crack, noticing it was pliant. He knew he, when in a good mood, could be flexible and you could get him to do practically anything, but there was a point where he would draw a line before he snapped, like the wand would. (62 - Flexibility)

The wand was long, bigger than an american foot in measurement terminology. Every time he would speak, he felt like he wanted to cry, the hormones were hitting him hard at this age, his spirit draining as he cried in public, but he could also be extremely angry quite easily if someone pushed his buttons, rather than crying, but he could also be joyful at random times. It was like his hormones just enjoyed toying with him. (77 - Length)

He looked at the man who gave him the wand. "What is the core?" He asked, getting the answer of 'White River Monster Spine'. He asked again, a different question. "What does that core do? What is it known for?"

The core seemed to be prejudicial towards wealth and racial superiority, and Noah was not either of those. However, it was noted that the wand often chose them, but it didn’t mean it always did. Maybe Noah’s brothers have invoked that prejudice in him, or it was his surrounding with thousands of purebloods day in and day out at Hogwarts. Regardless of what it was, the core chose him. (69 - Core)

The wand chose the wizard after all.

Noah wasn't exactly happy with the fact that he was losing these duels and losing honor for his own house. That was humiliating, a bit like a major 'screw you'. His brothers idolized quidditch so when they played with other wizard friends that they knew, they did try and cheat, often ending in an argument between his brothers and the other wizards, but regardless, this was what Noah was looking for. He wanted someone to teach him the ways to cheat in these games, at least to teach him the ways so he could perhaps use his brain and figure out where they went wrong and see what drew the attention to them.

Over the summer, when they were in their beds, they talked softly to one another, leading to Noah popping the question, to ask for help. Theodore laughed at him for how stupid it was that he didn't know how to cheat. Most kids would've known how to by early childhood. Noah knew how to, he didn't like to. Especially not in a family of sore losers.

When they told him of some of the cheating moves in Quidditch, they put emphasis on what he could do, like for example the play called the Quaffle Grab and Haversacking was the quaffle being put through the hoops by holding onto the quaffle when the ball is technically supposed to be thrown. Noah nodded, getting that much. The next thing brought up was something he was fully aware of in the game of quidditch, something he thought was common but was always curious as to why they were being flagged as cheaters, Blatching. His brothers chose to expand on that, explaining that was when players would willingly collide into other players just for the purpose of trying to knock them off the broom.

Noah continued to listen and take the mental notes on that, considering that his brothers have tried frequently to do blatching on the wizards they knew in the gameplay, but kept getting flagged. Perhaps there really was no way to actually get away with blatching, but perhaps he would be the first to break that restriction, that constant wall that would continue to appear.

He went to sleep, only to wake up to his favorite brother, the nice one, Johnny, staring at him as he woke up, a broom in his hand. It was a simple and default broom, the kind that the school provided for flying class. "We're going to practice, come on!"

He would get out of his bed, and put on black shorts and a red t-shirt, ignoring shoes. As he went outside, he saw his dad tying a pillow off the trunk of the tree just so that way he didn't have to keep up the concentration to hold it into the air for a while. "You boys have fun now! I'm going to make some breakfast, eggs anyone?"

Noah got onto his broom and heard the words "blatch him blatch him blatch him" on repeat as he began to levitate off the ground.

He concentrated, his shoulder turned to face the pillow as he darted towards it on the broom and he felt like his arm hit something, the pillow being thrown backwards, still tied to the string.

Wally called out, "See! It's that easy, Noah!" Cheating wasn't too hard, as long as he just got the gist of what his role was.

Aida grew up on a ranch in a remote area of the Highlands and learned animal husbandry starting from the earliest age possible, first riding a horse at age 3 (much as they do in Mongolia). Aida's first use of accidental magic was in calming horses during a surprise encounter with a kneazle, and the wix went on to help former professor Morfran Griffith in the care of magical creatures via the CoMC R.O.A.M. program, further developing skills with magical creatures. During interactions with Griffith, Aida shared one story from their upbringing on the ranch to demonstrate experience with animal husbandry and interactions with wild beasts.

As someone who has spent all of their life developing skills with non-magical animals and is now spending all available free time trying to come to understand the care of magical creatures, Aida's aptitude with creatures is undeniably their biggest personal strength due to the intense investments put into developing these skills.

As part of more recent adventures across the wilder parts of the Hogwarts premises, Aida encountered merfolk in the Great Lake and began to study the Mermish language. Aida’s experience of 2023 and 2024 was marked by an overwhelming obsession with the biology and culture of Merfolk. While Aida’s command of the Mermish language had to grow from humble beginnings that spoke mostly of fish, weather, and the basic feelings and thoughts of the colony’s inhabitants, in no time the wix was beginning to broach more potent questions. Of particular interest was the point of view of the lake’s merpeople regarding global changes to their ancestral territories and habitat degradation. Wanting to become a strong advocate for difficulties experienced by merfolk worldwide, the white wix strove to understand how a bipedal landlubber like themselves could be of help.

Aida’s sixth sense, enhanced by their extremely sensitive nose, is able to pick up on a number of scent cues that would be overlooked by most engaged in the study of fauna and magical beasts. This added edge, combined with the practical lessons provided daily by their strong Beastmaster connection with the owl Scheherazade, makes Aida’s constellation of abilities combine to make it seem like they were born to be a magizoology crusader and revolutionary.

People who have experienced Aida’s interactions with magical beasts in past balls would have seen not only the wix’s profound compassion for non-humans, but also a burning need to free captive beasts on sight. Like the compulsive impulse of a kleptomaniac to steal, Aida cannot bear to see magical beasts in cages and is liable to attempt releasing them – whether their “owners” like it or not.

From an early age, Kim had always been a perfectionist, striving to do the best he possibly could in whatever he chose to focus on. Coming from a powerful pureblood family who had always excelled at sports, Kim was expected to carry on the family tradition. He'd always wanted to please his father and make him proud but his father had been a quidditch player and wanted him to follow in his footsteps. But with Kim's fear of heights, that would never happen. Therefore, Kim needed to figure out a different way to make his mark on history for the Sato family and that path had eventually led him to dueling. Unlike many who started dueling, Kim didn't have a passion for it from the start and had only begun to do it to make his father proud of him. But as time passed and he met Galton, who became his idol on the dueling piste, Kim started to actually like the sport. Win or lose, it was something he actually had a passion for now. But of course, he was rather competitive by nature and he did want to win his matches.

Starting off with a bang, Kim destroyed his competition and ended up meeting Rose, who made him waver about his decision to remain a duelist. Because healing was also something he'd always been interested in but wasn't sure if he had any talent in the field. If he'd had to weigh the way things were now, Kim thought he was more skilled in dueling than he was in healing but he couldn't help but wonder which path he should pursue. Continuing on the dueling path, Kim started to experience failure after failure after this point in time. Determined to make his skills better, he began to put all of his time and effort into making his accuracy improve. Slacking in other aspects, he became almost laser focused on making his accuracy as good as it could possibly be. Sometimes he ended up not even sleeping as he worked on building up his skill in this regard, until he eventually began to incorporate other people into his practice. These people were either willing participants, also known as those who thought of him as a friend, or unwilling unwitting participants, also known as those Kim went after for pranks. As time passed, his accuracy grew way better than it had been before and he became determined to test it out in an official match. If it make a difference, he'd continue to do this type of training for as long as it took in order for him to overcome any and all weaknesses he might have.

Most people might have stopped their practice and training at this point in time, only starting up again when the next match was about to take place. But Kim continued to practice, train and hone his accuracy skills, not wasting a single second because he knew in order to become the best he couldn't afford to sit around and do nothing. He needed to fix all his weaknesses and become someone his team could depend upon in a sticky or hopeless situation.

Please note that this had been improperly assigned in the recent trunk update as +1 wis and +1 acc instead of +2 acc as specified here, so I fixed that.
