The Slytherin Table 2017 - 2018
Aravis was poking at her food not really caring for it, she was awfully picky about food after all. She had her long black hair in a braid over her left shoulder. The light made her appear even more pale than she already was. She ate a bite of the food despite not liking that day's meal. She didn't pay much mind to the person who had sat down beside her. She heard someone speaking about the food but payed no mind to it. However, when someone tapped on her shoulder she turned around.
The person hadn't been directly speaking to anyone but then turned around towards her and introduced himself as Guy. Aravis looked at the hand in front of her. She reached out her hand to shake it with a smile. "Ello, I'm Aravis. Nice to meet you." She said with her posh accent kicking in. Her blue eyes seemed to glisten and shine in the lighting. "Welcome to Slytherin! My whole family has been in Slytherin for generations! What about yours?" She said to Guy unsure if he was muggle-born or not. She figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. She had a tendency to assume everyone to be a pure-blood.

Matching Aravis' smile, Guy shakes her hand firmly, first noticing her accent, he realized he had never actually met someone from London, only ever seen them on the television. Continuing his smile as he listened to the girl speak, he quickly became amazed that not only was this girl a Londoner but her family had been in Slytherin for generations!
"Wow!" exclaimed Guy. "As far as I know I'm the only person in my family to ever attend Hogwarts, I guess that also makes me the first to join Slytherin." Guy paused for a second afterwards to wonder how many other students have had parents attend Hogwarts in the past. That must make things a bit easier... Guy thought to himself. Getting caught up in that thought guy looks around once more, truly amazed by the Great Hall and the world he has been accepted into.

The Slytherin Table 2017 - 2018
Maeve had been watching conversations go on at her table without speaking. She didn't want to open her mouth and risk stuttering. She loved listening to other people talk about their wizard family heritage, though, and spoke up without meaning to.
"My family's usually in Ravenclaw. I'm the first one in forever to be in Sly-Sly-Slytherin..." Maeve piped, her cheeks flushing red with the stutter. "I'm sor-sorry..." She mumbled. She knew that now that she was flustered, if she kept talking she would just continue to stutter.
Maeve turned back to the food and tried to ignore the few stares she was getting. Why had she spoken up? She didn't know, and definitely regretted it.

The Slytherin Table 2017 - 2018
"Oh you're the first at Hogwarts! Welcome to Slytherin, most of the houses will probably stereotype you as an evil person but just ignore them, a lot of dark wizard came from this house which aids to the stereotype. We're actually a great house, we all have to stick together due to other houses not being so fond of them. Over there..." Aravis said pointing towards the Gryffindor table. "...those are the Gryffindors, they're supposed to be all brave and noble but most of them are incredible stupid and gullible. Oh and over there is Hufflepuff, they're supposed to be the sweet innocent kind loyal kind of people, also known as push overs. I've only met one that I get along with well. And lastly over there is Ravenclaw. They're supposed to be really smart and studious. If you ask me, I say we are the best house." Aravis said with a smile. She figured she would give Guy a basic run down of the houses.
When Maeve stated she was the first in Slytherin Aravis clapped happily. "Another first time Slytherin in a family! How exciting! Being a Slytherin is amazing, ever since 990 A.D my family has been in Slytherin. Not one of us hasn't. I was pretty sure my brother would end up in Ravenclaw but he got Slytherin like the rest of us!"

"Huh, seems like I got placed in the right House then. To me there is nothing more important than being able to rely on your friends. Ravenclaws don't seem so bad either, always good to have really smart friends I suppose." Guy paused after saying, thinking to himself Dark wizards? Evil? No one really told me about that, I guess it makes sense though, theres always bad guys out there." Looking back at Aravis: "You seem to know a lot, can you tell me about these dark wizards? I am a bit out of the loop and no one told me anything about them! Are they like the Joker or Dr. Doom! Those guys are so cool in the comics!"
Looking over to Maeve, Guy noticed she seemed a bit flustered. "Hey, don't worry about it, I'm the first Slytherin in my family too and at least you had someone to explain the whole Hogwarts thing to you! I'm sure you'll make your family and the house really proud!"

Aravis looked rather confused for a second. "Joker? Aren't those court jesters? Dr. Doom? I've never heard of him..." She said unaware of the comics. She shook her head focusing back on the topic. "Of course, right, dark wizards. Well there have been many people who want power to themselves. Some of them, like Lord Voldemort, are more well known. My grandmother and my grandfather from my mother's side were dark lords. Their names were Pandora and Azazel. I don't know much about ''em but they were terrible. They killed many people. It's a hard subject to speak of, most people hate my family because of them, and because of my Aunt Farrah and my Uncle Arthur, not that you've probably heard of them though." Aravis explained, she didn't normally talk about her family past or that she was going to follow their foot steps in the future.
"So, Dr. Doom and the Joker. Who are they? Are they evil overlords without magic in the muggle world?" She said trying to switch off the subject of her family's dark past and anything that could get her in trouble that she was involved with. Plus, she wanted to know more about these folks that Guy had spoken of. She turned to Maeve and smiled. "Maeve have you ever heard of them? I haven't seen them in the papers my dad brings home from the Ministry."

Maeve smiled. "No, it's nothing about my ho-ho-house.." She murmured. "It's the stupid stutter."
She shifted uncomfortably on the bench, but perked up again when they began talking about muggle things. "No, I haven't... Who are they? My mother never allowed me near muggle things, and my father isn't around enough to care what I do." Maeve leaned forward, resting her elbows onto the table as she listened. Maybe she would make friends here at Hogwarts.
As she listened to her two new friends talk, her gaze wandered to the Ravenclaw table, where her siblings all were. Alexander was laughing with his friends, and Dahlia and Benjamin, the twins, were sitting next to each other, talking quietly. They kept glancing over at Maeve, worry evident on their faces. Alexander didn't seem to care that his younger sister wasn't with him. In fact, he seemed to be happier away from her than he ever was with her. That kind of hurt.
"Wait... What were we talking ab-about again?" Maeve said, shutting out her siblings. They were obviously well enough on their own. "Sorry, I was looking at my brothers and si-si-sister..." She murmured softly, chewing the inside of her cheek anxiously. Even if they were happier without her, she was definitely stressed without them. They were the only friends she had had growing up. She missed them.

Guy's smile shifted into a frown, realizing the severity of the situation. "Oh, uh Joker and Dr. Doom, right!" Guy said, trying to also shift topics and conceal his embarrassment at bringing up such a gloomy topic - "Well, they are part of a series of what you would call muggle stories, or comic books. Basically they are small books with pictures and tales of heroes battling against villains! Two of these villains are called the Joker or Dr. Doom! They aren't real but they are super powerful and cool!" Guy realizes he's beginning to yell and lowers his voice level a bit. "Basically, they fight against the heroes, the Joker is this crazy clown like guy that fights against the hero Batman who is just trying to protect his city of Gotham. Neither the Batman or Joker have any real 'power' they just have to use their muscles and smarts to overcome each other..." Guy trails off for a moment before resuming - "Now, Dr. Doom! Now he is a sorcerer he uses magic and all kinds of powers to fly and wreak havoc, a group of heroes called the fantastic four are his sworn enemy and do everything they can to stop him from hurting people, they are so cool!"
Guy pauses for a moment and listens to Maeve: "Whoa, you have siblings here at Hogwarts, thats SO cool! Tell me about them!"

Maeve grinned at how excited Guy was getting. "You seem to really, really like your comics." She chuckled. "Oh, my siblings? Alexander is just a year older than me, he plays quidditch. Um... He re-re-really likes eating. He's the one over there that looks like me, just as a guy." She said, pointing.
"Dahlia and Benjamin are the twins. They're three years older than Alex and I. They never stop worrying about me. They thi-think that this stutter is going to ruin any chance I have of making friends. They're pessimists around Alex and I, but around our parents they're bright and bubbly. I suppose they're like that around their friends, too. I'm a bit of an oddity in our family. Int-intro- introverted. I just didn't grow up around anyone except my siblings. They hated it. I loved it."
Maeve glanced over at Guy and grinned. "But, I am glad that I met you and Aravis. You guys seem like wonderful friends!"

The Slytherin Table 2017 - 2018
Marcus sat himself down in the middle of the table, listening to the conversations going on around him while gathering some food onto his plate for lunch, glancing around seeing the new people at the table "I would advise, we group up while going from class to class since I have heard a few of our house being attacked while they were in the hallways with other students from other houses, seems the hate of our house is still strong even with Voldemort dying once again" he said in a calm yet kind of bored voice.
Beginning to eat his food while using his utensils, he glanced over to the other tables to see if they were planning anything while keeping silent as he eats and listening to the rest of his house.
'I'm surprised no one from the other tables have pranked us yet, shame on them.' he thought eating his fish and chips "Name's Marcus for those of you who don't know or who are new." He told the rest of the table with a slight grin then glances over to the other tables to see which of them are on their house quidditch teams, seeing as he is the seeker for the team, he will need to scout the other houses sometime in the future.
