Lizzy Solace wrote: 28 Jan 2022, 21:29 Hello! I was reading through the races and abilities post and saw this:
The bite or the scratch of a werewolf is said to transmit lycanthropy. However in this community consent is a big part of the roleplay experience, you would be effectively forcing a change upon another user potentially damaging their experience. Please have posted on site documentation of their consent and please be aware that even with OC consent there will be IC consequences for this action. If a user is scratched or bit, their body will overcome the disease and they will survive. If the user chooses to allow this disease to take hold then their specialty race would become Lycantrope rather than human or the specialty race they previously had and their stats and abilities would reflect this change. To clarify, a turned human in the 7th year would not earn additional abilities because they were turned on year 7, rather they would need to pick and choose what abilities they will have in addition to their lycantrope skills.
I had originally wanted Lizzy to be a werewolf, but was still confused on how it worked because I was so new to the site. As a result, the deadline of 30 days passed me by. My question to you is this information above is making it sound like I could still get Lizzy to become a werewolf if I found a werewolf character and had an accident happen? If that is correct, would you mind explaining to me how this would work and how it would affect the abilities and stats I already have?
That couldn't happen because the werewolf characters are supplied by wolfsbane potion which prevents them from losing control when they are in wolf form. That means, if you were bit by a werewolf, that would be on purpose and a crime for which that character would get put into Azkaban- which we don't have, plus I don't know any player who is willing to give up their character.
Okay, thank you!

Elaine Pendrast wrote: 25 Jan 2022, 20:27 You have to re-Index for things that would retrospectively change your backstory or that go against the rules of our setting. For example, if your character's father was dead, and was suddenly alive, you'd need to explain how that came to be. Same for bringing things into your backstory that shouldn't be there, like your character suddenly claiming that their parents vanished a year ago and nobody noticed (which would make Hogwarts look very bad). Mostly re-Indexing is a matter of people taking their (back)story to places it shouldn't have gone without consulting or despite having consulted and been told they couldn't to what they had in mind.
Ah okay, thank you!

Hi, could I say that Selena's siblings are in Hogwarts even if they aren't PCs? Just casual mentions and whatnot?

I said that for Noah and his siblings, and I said it for Cody and his siblings. I haven't been called out on it so I believe it is allowed

You are allowed to have family members, but the same rules for NPCs apply -- they cannot impart information or access you do not already have. Also, you are roleplaying from your perspective, not theirs. Finally, try to keep their mentions to a minimum, the threads you are in with other players are intended to be between you and your new friends not you with several of our other personalities.

There is something about ambition, how it not only propels you but also defines you.

Animagi Questions
1. Can a student change into their Animagi form off school property? I would assume no, not until they are of age at least, but I am curious if it would count as magic done off school grounds.
2. Would temperature affect someone in Animagi form?
Example: If someone's animagi form was a lizard native to a desert environment, would being in the snow/cold for too long cause them to freeze up or slowly lose health.

not sure as for 2, but for 1: I have seen in applications such as ami's where the transformation takes place off school site. in this case there was a prof present though.
