SLYTHERIN!

June blinked in shock. She took at deep breath and walked confidently to the Slytherin table. She sat near the corner of the table. June didn't like to attract attention. "Hey! What's up? What do ya think 'bout Slytherin? It's great right?" June smiled and nodded. I guess I can't just sit in the corner and not talk. Well, let's see how this goes.

"I'm June Diaz, what's your name?" June asked with a shy gaze at the cheerful black-haired girl. "I'm Selena. Don't worry, we aren't that far. I'm only a second year. But still, you're going to learn lots!" the black-haired girl replied.

June smiled at Selena and cleared her throat. The new students were still getting their new houses so there was lots of time to talk. "So, since you're a second year, what's your favorite subject?" June asked casually. Selena seemed lost in thought for a moment and replied, "Ah, gotta be Defense Against the Dark Arts. Everything's just so interesting y'know?" June nodded. She liked the idea of Defense Against the Dark Arts as well, but was more interested in Charms and Transfiguration.

"So, talk about your family. I hear you're a Half-blood. I mean, that ain't bad, just saying." Selena said. June sighed and said, "Well, my mother's the witch and my father was the muggle. He was-" June didn't finish her sentence when Selena exclaimed, "Hey hey hey, you just said a bunch of 'He was'. Isn't it supposed to be 'He is'? Oh, um sorry. It's just that I get real picky when it comes to wrong grammar ya'know."

June breathed sharply because she knew that she was going to have to explain her father's unexpected sickness. "I'm saying 'He was' because he died. He had blood cancer." June explained plainly. Selena seemed shock and opened her mouth to speak and closed it again. June guessed she didn't know what to say.

"Oh, I'm um, sorry. I didn't mean.. I didn't... I shouldn't have asked you that." Selena stammered. June smiled, "It's alright. People ask all the time." Selena nodded and looked away. And from that moment, they didn't talk until the feast began.

Felix walked to the Slytherin table after being sorted. He thought to himself,' At least my parents won't be disappointed and disown me...' He then sat down hoping to soon see his Siamese kitten Sian. He was growing bored and soon started playing and picking at his food with his fork.

Ellie looked around curiously, sitting in one of the empty seats. She was unsure of what exactly to do if she even got into a conversation, so she kept to herself and sat quietly. 'I really should talk more, or at least that's what others keep saying. I wonder if I'll make any friends......' She noticed as some others sat close by, a little too nervous to start a conversation and her hands gripped at her sketchbook in her lap. 'Just stay calm, not everyone is like the others at home......' She softly smiled, trying to look more friendly.

Lucien walked up to the Slytherin table looking for a place to sit. He was happy he got Slytherin, his whole family had been in Slytherin after all. He at first thought he was going to be put in Ravenclaw. He preferred to sit with people he didn't know since most of the time. He found a few open seats next to people he wasn't so sure about. Eventually he saw an empty seat next to a girl with rather long dark brown hair. She seemed to have a sketchbook in her hands and it almost looked as if she was holding on to it as if someone was going to take it from her. He took a seat beside her setting down a book on potions and herbology on the table. They didn't take up much room luckily so there was plenty of space for plates and cups. "I should have asked if it was okay to sit down before I sat down, my apologies. Do you mind if I sit here?" He said turning to the girl noting she had bright green eyes. He dind't want to intrude on any conversations that could have been going on before he had sat down at the table.

My eyes aren't both blue. One is green. One is blue.

She turned to look at him, "O-Oh, it's fine. I'm Ellie by the way." Her hands slightly loosened their grip on the sketchbook, looking at him curiously. 'One green and one blue eyes...? He could be a good model if I did color sketches again......' She thought to herself as she attempted to be friendly. She looked at the books on potions and herbology, noting the subjects subconsciously as things she would have to start studying.

Cara didn't know what house she wanted to be in, because she had never heard of any of them before. When the Sorting Hat said she was a Slytherin, she didn't know what to think. She heard a chorus of sighs around her, except for at the table under the green banner with a snake. The children at that table were smiling and clapping, so she figured that they were also apart of the Slytherin house. She smiled to herself and made her way down the steps and over to the table. Cara didn't know any of the other people at the table, so she just sat at one of the empty spots near the end of the table. She wasn't that hungry, mainly because she was nervous, but also because she never really ate much back in Dublin, which explains her petite size. She looked down at the rest of the Slytherin house and once again smiled to herself. She began twirling one of her locks of bright red hair around her finger like she often did when she was nervous. "You're going to be okay... It's all going to be okay... You're going to have tons of fun and make a bunch of friends..." she mumbled to herself in her heavy Irish accent, hoping no one around her could hear her.

Ezekiel looked around the table at all the new Slytherin's who kept joining them. All these people I could be friends with, this is awesome. He thought to himself, taking a bit of the food he had laid out before him. He was excited yes, but also, very nervous. He didn't have any clue what was going on like all of the pure-bloods, seeing how he only just learned of the school a few months ago. Even still, he wanted to be just like his mother was. She was a graduate from Slytherin and a proud one at that. He fiddled with the necklace, just out of site. He missed her already, and he had only been here for a few hours at the least.

The conversations around him were all about what classes they thought they were going to enjoy, what professors looked the scariest, and who looked the nicest. But not much of that mattered to Ezekiel at the moment. He just wanted to get out there and make a few friends. The only people he knew so far were the HoH, and the prefect, Lucette. He had yet to meet the male prefect of Slytherin, but he was sure he wouldn't eventually. They were going to be in rooms together.

Ophelia approached the Slytherin table, reflecting on what had just happened.

Slytherin. I'm glad I'm here, but my family hasn't seen a Slytherin in years. I get any advise from them...

She looked around the table for an empty seat, which one luckily happened to be next to a group of other first-year students. She said to no one in particular, and with a somewhat quiet voice: "I hope you don't mind me sitting here."

While Ophelia wouldn't consider herself as shy and was definitely excited to make new friends, she certainly felt awkward sitting at the table without a familiar person beside her. It finally dawned on her the moment she sat down at the long table that she was no longer at home in comfort in Manchester, but in a new environment filled with strangers. She also didn't want to be the first to interact with someone, as she was afraid of saying the wrong things; she wanted to make strong first impressions. Lots of the people around her were conversing, but she didn't want to intrude on their conversation, so she let them all be.

While her mind kept racing, Ophelia began picking at her food. She started looking around the Great Hall and absorbing details, a way to keep herself calm and relaxed. She wasn't normally this energetic, but her dreams and anticipations of finally attending Hogwarts were finally realized, and she couldn't help but let her mind wander.

As Guy approached the Slytherin table he looked around at the many members of his House, he didn't know much about Slytherin but he was proud to be one. Guy paused for a second as he looked for an open spot among the many students at the table. Spotting one next to a pale girl with black hair, Guy plopped down next to her, not paying much attention to her at first, distracted by the good food in front of him.

"Wow!" Guy says to no one in particular as he takes a bite of the roast in front of him. "This is better than anything my father ever made, and that's saying something!" Guy says, again, to no one in particular. Looking to his right at the girl once more, he taps her on the shoulder and extends his hand to shake: "Hi, I'm Guy!"

Finally, lunch time. Dianis ran a finger through her hair and pulled out a white strand, immediately regretting it as she discovered it was just the light. She sighed, glancing away to search for an unoccupied seat. Dianis had taken her time to explore the many rooms of Hogwarts, and now began to see why she shouldn't have. The Slytherin table was full, everyone crowded together. Sighing again, the young girl turned to leave. There should've been enough seats, but maybe one got broken or something. I'll find a lunch in the Leaky Cauldron, Dianis thought, counting her coins, I should have enough on me for a few drinks, then I'll grab an ice-cream at that Ice Cream Parlour in Diagon Alley.
