Determination Quidditch Gryffindor v Hufflepuff

Adrenaline would pump through his veins as he felt himself launch forward, as he narrowly was able to steal the quaffle from Howard as a broad grin found its way onto the Gryffindor's face. Finally! He could hear the fun jab from Howard as he delivered the quaffle through the goal hoops and threw a triumphant arm into the air. "Gotta be faster than that!" he chided his friend, @Howard White teasingly and even had the audacity to quickly stick out his tongue for a second. Quite childish but that's what he was and right now he hoped to pull off more stunts like this. Perhaps he was finally ready to put a stop to the Hufflepuff team's luck. Then again he felt like their numbers had drastically decreased, which meant that his own team was also doing a great job even if the play could be considered a bit too violent for his own taste. They were so close to being able to pull this off, if everyone would give it their best shot, so Alan too would do his best in the hopes to not disappoint his team. Then again he was already quite proud with himself!

Kyle was gripping the bench at this point. The game was going well enough, but not perfect. Hufflepuff had scored alot, but the bigger concern was the lack of Gryffindor goals in return. If they could catch the snitch the season was theirs, but a few more goals could secure it as well. It was moments like this, so tense and exhilarating but merlins beard was it stressful as well!

Chasers

With Howard preoccupied by returning to his broom, Alan would make the most of his opportunity to go up for grabs in an attempt to further close the gap the unnerving chaser had created. Handily handling all three quaffles, the already proud chaser would go on to make his pride proud of him like the dignified member of the elite he was. Hufflepuff would eat his dust as he raced towards victory fearlessly, and all of Gryffindor would cheer him on.

Keepers

Goals undefended, Alan Vane's smooth sailing would go unimpeded during his first two shots. Whether taking his time due to the lack of pressure or riding the surge of adrenaline like a lifeline straight to the goalpost, the Gryffindor would sink one shot after another. The crowd would go wild and the game would go on longer. Shocked or startled, Alan would miss his final shot as Anastasia Beckett appeared at the edge of his peripheral vision to terrorize her own teammate. As unsatisfying a climax as it was, he would still earn a resounding awwww from the crowd as the quaffle was lost to the mud below.

Beaters

Not one to wait long for a chance to beat the badgers bloody, Scarlett would turn her back to a screaming bludger once more. Lining up yet another perfect trick shot, Scarlett would rock Lindsey Springhall's world. Lindsey would hold on for dear life, recovering just in time to dodge the second blow coming her way. Bounding towards one opponent and then onwards over her head, the bludger would bash into Annie Morgan as she ferried Howard to the safety of his own broom. Pain and shock would strike her simultaneously as the bludger came crashing in, but Annie's death grip would not fail her now.

Timing, just ever so slightly off, would cause Griseldis's surefire shot to soar in nearly the wrong direction. Missing Lindsey by a figurative mile, or in more understandable imaginary metric one point six kilometers, those in the stands would duck or evacuate in panicked reaction to Lindsey's timely dodge spelling their doom. Luckily, for everyone but those who bailed overboard, the wizardly canon ball would slow its approach before reaching them. Taking a u-turn before redirecting itself towards those currently on the field and playing the game, the bludger was not interested in those who lacked the clubs to whack it.

If god had heard Stanley's pleas for help and decided to acquiesce, then it was up to Stanley to interpret that message through the cloudy haze left by the spring rain. Praying for an opportunity and seizing it rarely coincided, and Stanley would fail to spot the snitch. Perhaps spending so much time looking at the ground was a bad idea if you wanted to lead your team to victory. Keep your eyes on the prize Stanley, and most importantly, keep them open.

With given directions Annie made her way off to get Howard back on his broom, but sometimes getting to the destination wasn't free of harm. There was no way she could see it coming, much less hear it. At first she only felt the wind as it whipped by her, next thing she knew a crippling pain hit her in the chest. Well damn I never had to deal with this as a chaser She grit her teeth, her knuckles imbedded for dear life into the broom handle. She'd arrived to his broom, not unscathed at all, but still on the broom. "Your taxi service has arrived, do not come again cause I am not saving your butt another time. Good luck out there and show Alan who's boss." Annie wheezed out to Howard before saluting and turning around to go back to all the action. Hang in there, breathe.. not too deeply though dang there's gonna be a bruise there..

As the pair wove through the rain, Ana's thoughts raced. While she couldn't really make out anyone specific in the rain, she was reasonably certain that there were only a handful of yellow blobs left and far more red blobs. That was certainly a good sign, right?

The snitch seemed to have decided that down was the way to go, so Ana dove after it. She pulled up sharply when she realized they were far closer to the ground than she would have liked. She'd lost sight of the Snitch, which she was alright with since her job was not to spot or catch the snitch, merely to get Evelynn to it as efficiently as possible. As she scanned her surroundings for any glint of gold, something else caught her eye. "Decipio, isn't that your broom?" she inquired.

An idea flitted into the blonde's head. Having their Seeker back on her own broom would eliminate the communication aspect and make it much quicker for Evelynn to catch the Snitch. After waiting a moment for confirmation, Ana voiced her thoughts. "I'll return you to it, then. Since we're already down here, we may as well," she called over her shoulder.

Once the Seeker was safely on her broom, Ana's dark eyes peered through the rain, desperate to figure out what had happened in the game in the time she had been focused on the Snitch.

Long story short, I survived

More goals and their seeker was getting closer to catching the snitch. It had been a long game, and hufflepuff got a big lead at the start but it seemed like the aggressive strategy of the lions was now paying off. Victory was hanging right there, they just needed to reach out and grab it. ”Cmon lions! Finish it! Show them what we got!”

Things were looking up. Things were starting to turn in their favor. The second string seeker on the puff team looked a good deal younger than their first string, and with youth often entailed inexperience.
Still, Piérre applauded the kid for giving his all. It was admirable.

Just as admirable as Alan making two more scores for team Gryff! Piérre whooped loudly for his friend before focusing again. Nothing eventful had happened on his save duty, but perhaps things were soon bound to change and he would soon be needed in a different role.

The game progressed, Gryffindor was able to score again, and with each goal scored, Haley cheered loudly and jumped up from the bench, throwing her fist up in joy. "YES!!! You got this!" she cheered for her team and sat back down on the bench looking around sheepishly, surprised at herself for how much she was getting into the game and cheering along.

Hufflepuff was still ahead, but they could still get it. Victory was near and she watched their Seeker, fingers crossed tightly as she had been all game. She had no clue where the snitch was but surley their seeker did "Come on, finish it!" cheered Haley on.

Stern eyes scanning the field below, Rafael inhaled deeply, his hands tightening about the handle of his broomstick. It would seem as if the boy’s penalty lap was finally nearing its end – the adrenaline of impending gameplay humming within his very veins and muscles tight in anticipation, he took a moment to observe the events of the game at hand. After all, lack of playing time tended to open one’s eyes to a many number of various sights, the most entertaining of which at the moment was his beloved teammate’s careful and practiced advances on the Hufflepuff Hoops. Rafael had always appreciated the talent of his fellow chaser on the field, but perhaps the full effects of his capability had at some point slipped his consciousness – Alan looked quite at home on his broom. With as much effort as the guy was putting into his playing, it shouldn’t have come as a surprise, but even so, watching such actions could still bring a bright grin to surface on the Captain’s face. He couldn’t help but express his excitement verbally, shoving a fist into the air as he shouted in the direction of his dormmate – “Clean shot, mate! You’re amazing!” he exclaimed brightly, raising his eyebrows cordially. It was probably best he didn’t elaborate any further, given the game at hand – nonetheless, speaking to his friend left him satisfied, ready to continue with vigor.

Having finished expressing himself for the moment, he promptly refocused his gaze upon the lap at hand – oh, here he was, right ahead, then. “Yeah, okay,” he muttered quietly to himself, hands tightening once more upon the sleek polished wood of his Silver Arrow. The end was so close – tangible even, its proximity encouraging the Captain to push just a little harder, bank a little faster. The game was just about at it’s end, figuratively speaking. Pushing wouldn’t hurt anything, he supposed.

Steeling. his nerves, the Captain pushed on, passing his lap and reentering gameplay.

Abilities:
INTERCEPTION
When a Quaffle is being passed, users with this ability automatically get a chance to Intercept the quaffle. This does not replace their normal action for the round. This put the quaffle in your and by extension you teams' possession.

Also, if the Quaffle is dropped for any reason, you would automatically (without it taking up an action) attempt another Quafflegrab. At present there would be no mid-round way to drop a quaffle due to the order of operations, however there will be certain effects in future patches that can cause this effect.

CATCH
Able to catch two falling players on your broom when playing Quidditch. These additional caught players would be brought to the ground safely and they would be allowed to retrieve their broom and enter play again the next round. This can be done every round as the player's action if they choose to do so.

With brooms that have the feature where an additional player may be caught (such as Bluebottle) where there is a stackable chance of failure with each additional person caught, there is no stacking failure chance for players with this ability.

After having gotten over the fear of falling so very high, Stanley focused his attention on the game around him. His eyes scanned every where looking for the tiny little golden bugger than would end the whole game. It was hard to concentrate as the wind flew through his moderately long hair whipping it into his eyes.

Silently, he groaned and pushed the hair out of his eyes before squinting them and doing a 360 hoping for any sign of the snitch's presence. If Stanley hadn't seen the snitch being released at the start of the game he would have guessed that it wasn't there at all! It was like it had disappeared off of the face of the whole earth.

He took deep breaths violently shaking his head in any and every direction. Nothing was coming up. It was hopeless. He was never going to be as good at Ethan or Serena who had come before him. He couldn't give up though. Stanley could not let his team down. He let a small frown fall onto his face while looking at the empty benches of where all the second strings should sit for Hufflepuff before returning his gaze to the endless air and muttering words of encouragement and confidence to himself.
