Hogwarts Summer Camp  Capture the Base
Agh, Ilvermorny had lost the lead. They were being spread too thin over the playing field with so few people to capture and defend. If only more of his lousy teammates had shown up maybe they would've already won by now. He yelled out a rallying cry to his fellow students that were actually here to represent. "Come on Ilver! We can't let these Europeans make us look like idiots again!" Ah, colonialism.

After he had lost yet again to capturing the base, he almost wanted to switch to defending the measly two that they had currently. But there was something in him that didn't want to stop. This new fuel of competition delighted him. What started as just some random game to play to get Rafael to pay attention to him had turned into something else. A desire to represent his school, a desire to win, to outsmart the other teams and take them down even though they had the smallest turnout. Maybe it was from his involvement of sports as a kid or just his damned pride in his school compared to the other ones, but he was going to just go with it for once and have fun. It didn't seem like Rafael was really paying attention to him anymore anyway. Quickly his eyes darted around and decided to go for base #1. Because... why not.

Hogwarts was… in the lead?

In the midst of the ongoing events, children getting tagged and bases being repossessed, the young Captain couldn’t help but squint in intrigue at the bustling playing field, a hand reaching up to rub his temple as he pondered a scene that confounded his tired eyes. After three despairing rounds of participation, it couldn’t be true, surely? However, it would seem as if fate had finally found favor within the British School in this particular instance – with three bases to call their own, the Golden Team only narrowly clutched onto the title of first place, their grip weak yet existent as they fought tooth and nail for the lead. The succession of events was far from pretty, no one could disregard this fact, but the game was surely a competition, in the least! What more could a spectator ask for? Such a quandary would inspire a spark of imagination within the mind of the weary Captain, and for a moment, Rafael would allow thought to consume his mind, his imagination wandering throughout the contents of his brain like the clouds slowly shrouding the summer sky. If Hogwarts could fight for the lead so errantly, surely they could defend it just as fiercely! Even so, the other teams were far from lenient in their own attempts to steal away the lead from Hogwarts. The playing fields, the Gryffindor would soon conclude, were just as even as before. Blast.

However, the evidence of such a conclusion would be nonexistent upon the face of the young commentator – anyone watching the young Captain, in fact, would surely notice the vibrant smile splashed upon the boy’s features, a proud stance marking his demeanor as he proudly watched the succession of events. The game was, after all, a war at its finest, and who was Hogwarts to step down from a challenge? Only time would tell. However, Rafael had long since made up his mind. Lifting the megaphone to his lips, the young Captain would promptly alert the field to the new turn of events – “With three bases to their name, Hogwarts secures the lead against Durmstrang and Ilvermorny! But can they keep it?” Now, that was the question of the hour. Allowing the megaphone to drop to his side, the boy would continue his pondering, a lip tucked in between his teeth as he rubbed the scruff of his neck in anticipation. I damn hope we can, he would wonder idly. I simply don’t know what we’d do otherwise.

──────Rett v Greta v Lydia──────
Lydia Cooper was, in all aspects, a champion of her field. However, the captor of Base I would surely not remain cordial for long.

After seducing fifth-year guardian Arjan Oberoi and securing the lead for her team, there was simply no telling what thoughts were going through the mind of the young veela, nor was there a proper way to evaluate her performance based on the people it had taken to reach her goals. However, whatever successes she had gained would do nothing to save her now. For Ilvermorny and Durmstrang had set their collective targets on the measly first base – from one end of the field would emerge the wild card Rett Brooks, Ilvermorny power player and playboy extraordinaire. His skills, of course, had proven useful in many a situation for the western team… but would they assist him now that he found himself matched against an equally dangerous opponent? And on the other side of the field approached the small but mighty Greta Franssen, being a power player herself for the Durmstrang Quidditch Team. Of course, it was a fact ill-known throughout the competitive community in such a moment, but Durmstrang tended to get what they wanted when they wanted it. And though Greta had suffered misfortune in more than one instance, there was little evidence to support an ill play on her part now. It was two against one, a dangerous and fickle game to gamble on. So, which team would steal away the base?

Certainly not Lydia. Sorely outnumbered, the girl simply wouldn’t have the resources to capture all her opponents, no matter how hard she would attempt. However, that wasn’t to say that she wouldn’t go down fighting. Her beautiful brown eyes striking the nearest opponent to her – the Ilvermorny representative, Rett Brooks – she would waste no time in darting out, her fingers brushing against the boy’s side in what could only be described as a well-practiced movement. Rett would promptly be sentenced to a round in prison… however, as Ilvermorny had fallen prey to Hogwarts, the Golden Team became victim to the efforts of the Russian Team. Greta Franssen, having wasted not a moment in her advances, had promptly clipped a blue flag to the rafters of the base, securing the first territory for her faction. A proud win for Durmstrang, and an embarrassment to Hogwarts.

Lydia retained her honor, however – marooning the dangerous Rett on the prison bench, she fled from the scene of her defeat with haste, escaping on to another location as to fight for her team’s name another instance. It would be the only fact that warmed Rafael during the entire succession of events. A frown would consume his features instead, his lip puffing out in disdain as ruefully recalled the events that had doomed Hogwarts to another round in second place. Oh, well. If they had captured a base, then so could Hogwarts, right? Especially with a player as talented as Lydia still on the field. Nonetheless, it was his duty to alert the field of the turn of events. A sigh escaping his lips, he would spare a moment to lift the megaphone to his lips, his voice dripping with the sense of failure as he voiced the faction change of the first territory – “Durmstrang secures the first base! Arjan Oberoi is subject to escape!” It was okay, he reasoned to himself. There was still time to win…

──────Cash V Phylicia──────
Finally, Phylicia faced action.

The girl, an Ilvermorny student, had been waiting patiently at her base for precisely the right moment to strike out and defend her location. And finally, an opportunity had arrived – Cash, as it would seem, was a dangerous opponent themselves, and ready to snatch away a win from the team that had damned Hogwarts to the second place position many a time. The Slytherin’s shoulders tense and eyes narrowed in on their target, their will would be more than apparent to the guardian American as she steeled herself for attack. A fearless creature she was, Phylicia was far from tapping out at the sight of adversity. The playing field, as it seemed, was even – so, who would take the title?

It was unfortunate, Hogwarts found themselves victim once more. Her hand swiping out, Phylicia would promptly apprehend her opponent, leaving no room for the opposing player to capture her faction’s territory. Dammit. From the commentator’s position, a groan would resound, expressing the disappointment the Gryffindor commentator surely felt. “Ilvermorny retains the second base!” Rafael stated sourly, running a hand through his hair as he regarded poor Cass with sullen eyes. Then, in a quieter voice, “And Hogwarts plays victim again…”

──────Iris──────
Iris was good, but this was just too easy.

It was smart of her, when one should stop to properly consider the actions of the Ilvermorny player, to target the base without a guardian. After all, there were a multitude of dangerous locations across the playing field – what were the odds that she would choose to steal away one of two remaining unguarded? Her victory would be more than apparent in the ease it took for her to scurry across the field, slipping a red flag into the place of the formerly golden one. A loss for Hogwarts, then. But a win for Ilvermorny! “Another one?!?” Rafael couldn’t help but exclaim in rage. “Seriously?” It was rather ridiculous, the ease it took for the Americans to steal away a base from the other teams. Nonetheless, it surely wouldn’t be long until the tides were turned again. This would be the rationale goading the young Captain on as he stepped forward, his fists clutched upon his megaphone as he spoke in a silvery voice. “Ilvermorny steals the third base!”
Iris, uncontested, succeeds in capturing the third base.
Base IV
──────Barren──────
The Durmstrang Base, of little surprise of the Gryffindor Captain, saw no action – no one graced its prisons, and no one strove to claim it. No one defended it. The tent, in fact, looked strangely lonely in this instance, a bit dead, even. It would seem as if Durmstrang had gotten lucky – this time. This was, of course, no solace to those commentating– the Captain would instead release a breath of irritation, disappointed in the lack of action on the field. Was it that the players were growing tired? “Durmstrang retains possession of the seventh base!” he commented dryly, looking at Tyr, as if pondering her thoughts. It was all he could do to repress the irritation he felt towards his own team.

Base IV remains in the possession of Durmstrang..
Base V
──────Lizzie──────
Lizzie, a former prisoner, was out for revenge. Unfortunately, nonexistent were the opportunities for vengeance.

Much like the other bases, it seemed as if the field were barren where she stood, no competitors darting before her gaze and no opponents approaching to challenge her supreme authority over the base. It may have been just as well, however – with only herself to guard the base, what would happen if more than one opponent came her way? Nothing good, surely. Ah well, it looked as if she would simply have to settle for this small blessing. The relief she would or wouldn’t feel would at least be reciprocated by the commentator – Rafael let out a sigh of relief, his gaze loosening as he peered over at the location. Hogwarts really couldn’t afford to lose another base. “Hogwarts retains possession of the Fifth Base!” he would instead call out. “Good work, Bambi!”
Lizzie, uncontested, automatically retains the fifth base.
Base VI
──────Karilyna──────
Karilyna would represent the sixth base like a boss. So much so, that she would find no action.

No one challenged her base, much to the surprise of the commentators, nor did anyone step forward to taunt the fearless champion. Ilvermorny, of course, was a dangerous opponent, but how dangerous were they truly? Surely not so much that they could outright intimidate the other teams? It was a foolish notion. “She’s only a girl,” Rafael asked in partial awe, shaking his head. “She can’t be that provoking.” Yet, it seemed that the girl was simply too fearsome to face. Who would heed the call to arms against such a player?
Karilyna, uncontested, automatically retains the seventh base.
Base VII
──────Alexei──────
Alexei knew what it was like to be imprisoned. Perhaps that was the reason he chose to guard his team’s base.

It was unfortunate, then, that no one would attempt to challenge the other base. Poor Alexei, so hungry to oppose someone with his team’s power. Oh well. Perhaps next time? It could be counted as a blessing, if he stopped to properly think, that his team was held in a safe regard this one instance. Durmstrang held on to the lead by a thread. [Did Alexei think, anyways?? Rafael wondered idly.] However, such a notion would surely leave the Golden Team reeling – “Dammit!” Rafael muttered silently. No one wanted to challenge the potty mouth? Just as well. Karma’s a bitch, he thought wryly. He’ll get what’s coming.
Alexei, uncontested, automatically retains the seventh base.
Jailbreak
Well, it seemed as if it were that time of game again. Ten minutes had passed since the last jailbreak, having marooned many a player in their respective prisons. But no more. Without wasting a moment more, Rafael would liberate them from their sullen confines with a simple word – “JAILBREAK!” he would announce into his megaphone, his words filled with enthusiasm and excitement. Sure, there were few imprisoned, but even so, it had been long enough. It was time to free up the playing field! What would happen next…?

It didn't seem that anyone was interested in taking his base, which irritated Alexei. He had fought so hard for this base, and now the other players were acting as though it wasn't even worth trying to capture. He paced slightly and scanned the field for anyone contesting his ownership of this base.

"Cowards!" he called at the passersby who couldn't bother to even attempt to take his base. He wanted to take another base, to secure Durmstrang's lead. However, abandoning his base meant leaving it free for the taking. He couldn't do that. He had fought tooth and nail for this. Well, not really tooth and nail, he had beat out some random American, but still, he had fought for this! It was a matter of honor and he was going to guard the shit out of this base.

He paced like a lion on the prowl, ready to capture anyone who dared challenge his sovereignty. He was the king of this base. "How's this for (LANGUAGE WARNING) a pussy-assed bitch boy, Ублюдок?" he shouted the moderator. The game was seemed to be nearing a close, and Alexei felt he had more than proven his point. Anyway, the pretty boy was just generally annoying.

Hogwarts Summer Camp  Capture the Base
Playing as Ilvermorny iNPC Phylicia Stanwood
She grinned as a purple-haired Hogwarts student came her way. This was what she wanted: action. Success was second to the thrill of competition in Phyllis' opinion. As the Hogwarts student drew closer, Phyllis got ready. And then she pounced. Her hand touched their shoulder, meaning they were out.

As fun as being a pest and holding down the second base so no one else could get it was, it wasn't the best way to face a bunch of action. People came at her, but only every once and a while. And with another shout of jailbreak from the announcer even though it seemed like he'd literally only just called one, she figured if the Hogwarts girls in her prison really wanted her base, they could have it. Phyllis had set her sights on another base.

For some weird reason, no one had touched the third base for a while. No Hogwarts student were guarding it and no one had stolen it. That meant Phyllis' path was open to snatch it for Ilvermorny. With a smirk and a salute to her former prisoners, she darted towards the third base. A switch of the golden flag for a red one was all it would take for the base to be Ilvermorny's.

Miranda had been staring at her feet, but looked up when she saw someone making their way to the base where she was held prisoner. It was the purple-haired Slytherin - Cassandra. Miranda had met her after they had received an unfortunate howler the year prior, and now that selfsame person was rushing towards the base still defended by the Ilvermoney student that had captured Miranda twice now.

Unfortunately for both of the Hogwarts students, it didn't take the base's defender long to end the short flight. Miranda made an apologetic expression in the Slytherin's direction, and scooted over to make room for her on the prison bench.

"Annoying, isn't it? But I appreciate the thought." She smiled slightly, then turned her gaze out to the field once their conversation had finished.

However, much to their luck, the referee called a Jailbreak right after, and Miranda wasted no time in springing to her feet. Enen better, the former base's defender had taken off, most likely to try her hand at capturing a different base. While Miranda couldn't believe her luck, she sympathized with the Ilvermoney student. It must have been annoying to stand guard over a base for so long without reprieve.

Grinning, Miranda made her way to the flag, determined to switch it out for one of Hogwarts'.

Concentrated on the task at hand, Lydia had completely blocked out anything else that wasn't important; she wanted to keep control of the base as long as possible, Hogwarts needed to win. It didn't happen too often that her competitive side would properly come out, but whenever that happened, the red headed girl would try her best to win. This was one of those times, and Lydia's focus was 100% on the people still running around the field; she needed to be ready to capture whoever got too close to comfort, and secure that base to Hogwarts.

So when a brown-haired boy (Everett) started making his way towards base#1, Lydia was more than determined to capture him. But just as he got closer to her, the young Hufflepuff spotted the same girl (Greta) that had almost captured her at base#3; she couldn't possibly catch both of them, but who could she go for? She quickly looked around to see where Ariana was, but she couldn't find her anymore, so that meant that she had to act quickly and in a smart way, otherwise she might have ended up back on the jail bench.

Focusing her attention back on the Ilvermorny boy, Lydia quickly touched his side as a small smirk appeared on her lips; after that, she quickly left him on the jail bench next to the Durmstrang boy, and focused her attention on Greta. However, she would not even try to capture her as well, because the youg girl had managed to claim the base for Durmstrang, which meant that Lydia had to get out of there as quickly as possible, especially because of the Jailbreak.

As she ran away from Base #1, Lydia's eyes scanned the field and widened in shock the moment she realised that Hogwarts was losing. Shaking her head, she decided that she would have taken a base away from Durmstrang, the same way that they had taken her base away from Hogwarts; her eyes fell on the blue flag that was waving in the wind, right where Base #7 was. Protected by just one boy, Lydia decided to try her luck and attempt to capture that base for Hogwarts.

No one had tried to get the base. It was all back to normal as if it should have been hers all a long. There was a small relief that has been lifted off of Lizzie's back. She could rest for a bit without having the trouble of fending off other students trying to capture her base.

Amadea had seemed to abandon her or just not go with her at all. Maybe she had decided to do something else. Of course Lizzie would not judge as she was not the ginger haired girl and she did not make decisions for her either. All she could do was hope that she came back before some ruthless people came and slaughter Lizzie. That would not be a good sight to see. No one wanted to look at a grumpy Lizzie Verdine who had just been caught.

Eyeing the area, Lizzie cheered silently. Hogwarts was tied with Durmstrang with three bases. That was an accomplishment and a half. The Durmstrang students were known for being quite harsh and competitive so gaining stuff for their hands was defiantly something to be proud of. "Go Hogwarts!" She jumped up and smiled before getting back to defending the base.

As far as Greta could tell, Drumstrang was doing decently well. Or had been, at least. They'd managed to secure three bases at one point, although since the recent escape of prisoners (or whatever exactly had happened), there had been some exchange of flags. They had lost possession of a few, gained a couple others, and ended up with a grand total of two. Which, if they wanted to secure a victory in this little game of conquering, simply wouldn't do. They'd need to divide their forces and secure more victories. With Romeo electing not to venture forth to attempt to capture another base, Greta went in his stead to attempt just that.

Greta could hardly have picked a better base to assault. There had been no particular rhyme or reason for picking the base that she had, although the solitary girl serving as guard didn't look so terribly frightening. Pretty, certainly, but looks didn't mean that they were athletic, and in a contest of dexterity, Greta nearly always managed to outmanoeuvre someone her own size. She was nearly to the base, blue flag firmly in hand, when another figure approached at another direction. Recognizing him almost immediately as the opposing queen from the chess duelling, Greta almost backed out. She'd seen first-hand just how agile he could be, and if it came to her having to face the pair of them, she wasn't sure she'd be able to manage. Better to save her own hide.

Only...her initial worry that he was coming to reinforce the defence was wiped briskly away as the girl turned her attention to him and made for a capture. What luck. Flared into motion with the distraction, Greta sprinted forward past the dance, swiped away the existing flag and planted her own. Another base for Durmstrang! Shoes slipped a bit in the loose dirt as she tried to reverse her movement moment's later. A planted flag meant that she was clear to attempt to catch prisoners, herself, and she swiped out a hand in an attempt to catch hold of the girl. Not quick enough. The blonde danced out of reach just in time to safety and scampered off to a new base.

No matter. Greta's brief disappointment was remedied with the reminder that she had just helped to bring her school back to the forefront of the race, and she intended to keep it that way. Pausing to catch her breath, she scoured the field in search of anyone who might try to take her base away from her. She'd have something to say about it if they did.

RPing as approved Durmstrang iNPC Vyacheslav Preobrazhensky
Slava had served his time on the bench of jail impatiently until he was freed, feet tapping repeatedly on the ground as his hands clung to the bench. Waiting was so boring. He preferred the action, the spotlight or the thrill of the chase. Soon, he would get it, leaping up from the bench and quickly checking to see who was heading for what base so far. He could help to protect one of the bases that Durmstrang currently possessed, but he had already figured out that he was having the most fun in this game when he was charging for a base, the stakes fairly high but the glory and satisfaction great when he succeeded.

Besides, he liked dodging and trying to be faster than his opponent, and guarding hadn't been working out too well for him, just leading him to be captured a few times. He was seeking victory! Regardless of his role in the game or the outcome, however, he prized fun above all and so long as he was having fun—which he was—he was happy. Guarding or going on the offensive, it all was entertaining enough. It was just that he had a slight preference for the offensive, daring choices, which probably had something to do with why he enjoyed Quidditch so much, particularly going on the offensive as a Beater instead of staying back in defense. With as cheeky a grin as ever, Slava took off towards one of the other schools' bases, hoping for the best and that no one would snatch it away from him at the last second.
