Isla’s mother (Kityara’s grandmother) was a seer. The gene skipped a generation, but it passed on to Kityara. Around the first time she showed her magic, she started to have gut feelings about things. Feelings that she should bring an umbrella with her just before it started raining (despite there not being many clouds at the time she felt she should bring one), feelings that she shouldn’t stand somewhere right before a heavy object fell off a shelf, etc. She also started putting up a cover above the beehive in her yard whenever she got a feeling it would rain, even when her parents didn’t think it would (since bees can get hurt by rain- it can keep them from flying). Sometimes, after combing her hair, she’d find strands in the brush that looked lighter than the others. For a while, she didn't know that she was a seer, her young brain misremembering the situations and thinking her parents had just told her beforehand to do/not do those things.

She found it funny that her hair was turning paler, and said she might look like her Grandmother soon. Soon after that, her mother decided to show Kityara an old picture of Grandmother- young, but with pale hair. She then explained to Kityara everything she knew about seers. Kityara handled the news surprisingly well, as she had started to wonder herself if she was a seer based on all the information she had read in her books about what signs seers showed as children. Her hair is still only slightly paler and she sometimes gets those gut feelings, but she hasn’t gotten any more than that.

She sometimes goes to visit her Grandmother Elise, who sometimes tells Kityara stories about her childhood and her own experiences as a seer. The Bleumont family has a history of strong seers, the gene often skipping 1-3 generations.

Even though the family is proud of having this many seers in their bloodline, they don’t judge the ones who don’t inherit the gene, still treating them like they’re just as important even without the capability of having visions. One time, there were even a pair of twins, only one of which inherited the gene. Despite this, they were treated equally, and the non-seer turned out to have his own talents. For example, Kityara’s younger brother didn’t inherit the gene, but is still treated the same as she is.

The only exception to this was Grandmother Elise. Elise’s parents, while not hating her for it, found her strange, as she inherited the gene directly from her father instead of it skipping a generation or two like all the other cases. Her parents weren’t necessarily rude about it, but Elise would sometimes notice them looking at her strangely whenever she spoke about gut feelings, strange dreams or her hair turning paler. Because of this, Elise is always careful not to look at Kityara that way, not wanting her granddaughter to feel like she’s strange for having visions or having inherited the gene after only one generation.

She lives in a big house with her parents and 4-year-old brother, Leo. She is the daughter of Isla and Henry Dragonfang. Her father was raised by Muggles for reasons he refuses to talk to her about, so she's had access to Muggle things since she was little. However, she did grow up in a wizard community, so she has limited access to said objects and is normally only able to get books about Muggles or small things like her contacts.
When she was growing up (which they still do sometimes now), she and her family would visit her grandparents in Canada, and sometimes switch houses due to having multiple properties. Besides this, and being homeschooled, Kityara still managed to make lots of friends, often hanging out with wizards and witches her age, but often not bringing up her interest in Muggles due to fear of being judged for it. But her friends found out anyway, and due to their positive reactions (finding her access to Muggle art supplies unusual but cool, etc) she doesn't bother to hide it anymore, often hand-sewing things for good friends. She does own knitting needles that knit by themselves and stuff like that, but only because she observed them in order how to knit with non-magic needles
She’s very excited to be going to Hogwarts, as she wants to be able to learn more about Muggles, magical creatures and possibly make her own art-related spells(once she learns the basics)

Why her father was raised partly by Muggles (SHE DOESN’T KNOW THIS YET). When her father was young, he was raised by his pureblood parents. He was raised in a full wizard household til he was 5, when his insane Uncle (on his mother’s side) came back to Britain. His Uncle had k*lled all Henry's other aunts and uncles, leaving him and Henry's mother as the only siblings left. To make sure Henry would stay safe, his parents sent him away to Canada to live with his aunt (on his father’s side), who was a Squib with a Muggle husband, since that’s the last place his Uncle would think to look for him. When he was 15, his Uncle was finally arrested and sent to Azkaban. His Muggle adoptive parents then told him the truth, and he went back to Britain and caught up on magic from his parents before going to Hogwarts for his last 2 years. He met her mother on Platform 9 ¾, when they were both standing in the corner awkwardly and eventually realized they both spoke French.

When she was 7, she was drawing with crayons she had been given for her birthday. She wanted to draw the sky, but didn't have the right shade of blue due to having used it up already on her many other sky drawings. She was upset, but didn't want to bother her father for more since she thought they might be hard to get. When she looked back at her crayons, they were suddenly all sky blue. Her parents noticed, since she'd only had one crayon of that color, and ended up having to get her a new pack anyways.

-In your backstory a lot of it is about Kityara's father rather then herself and her story, please edit it so that Kityara's backstory alone will meet the 220 word requirement, right out it is at 83 when not counting the paragraph about her father
STATUS: Pending, Elena, 30th of January
-Thank you for making the edits required! Sadly your backstory (without the paragraph about Kityara's father) still doesn't reach the required 220 wordcount (216, only eight more words to go!). Please develop a bit more by for example telling us more about your character's personality or likes.

Thank you for making the required edits. Upon reviewing I have noticed that there are little detail's on the father's uncle in regards to why the father needed to be kept safe from the uncle and also what crimes the uncle had committed to be sent into Azkaban.

Lenny wasn't quiet by choice rather, it was the overwhelming weight of hearing and understanding what others couldn't. The whole point wasn't hearing it was understanding. At first she thought that others simply ignored those sounds that she couldn't but she wasn't sure and she truly will never be.

Ever since she came to Hogwarts, got sorted into slytherin, the snakes 'hissing' or as people like to call it 'noises' are no longer just hissing or noise rather its a language for her now. For her at the very least, it's some dialogue, like the background characters that others simply ignore and bother not to hear.

Yet, somewhere inside her, she knew that, it wasnt the first she connected with snakes, the beauty of them,  that is deadly. She connected with them ages ago, the first encounter, in her garden, where she sat in the grass, reading a book and one snake - it was emerald tree boa, a rare one to find in a place like London but there it was, the beautiful snake looking up to her and for some reasons, she did not scream, call it stupidity or bravery, all the same. She looked at him, how did she know it's a him? Perhaps because he greeted her, she talked with him. called her stupid, for not running away and what did the child, who was only what? six? do, she smiled, as if it was common as if it was another day in garden with her best friend calling her stupid, she smiled and told the dear boa, that she was not stupid and she was a fast Learner, she showed him the book she was reading and proudly proclaimed that she was always the one reading in her class, the snake, hissed and tilted his head at her and replied, that he did not care, about what a class was, and he simply did not care what she was reading so there they were, six year old lenny, telling a snake a story about cinderella.

However, this incident was long forgotten until she came in Hogwarts,  until she found herself listening and understanding those beautiful creatures. She tried speaking, but she can't,  or more like, she don't know yet. she speaks, she speaks to them the only difference is that, she doesn't know that she is. She speaks and understand them like it's english or like any other language she knows and speaks.

Why she speaks Parselmouth, is maybe due to her heritage, the heritage she never got to know but she have seen those books, the books which only can belong to a pureblood slytherin, they belong to her father and they were one of those she stole, it explained quite a bit about slytherins, specifically salazar slytherin, she is not naive enough to believe that she is somehow connected to him but who knows? what steps may have taken in the wake of a family, that is for some reasons, no one aware of.

What works in her favor is that, no body knows that she speaks such a...rare language, and she prefer to keep it that way, not because she knows what she will face afterwards but because, she is not ready to be so vulnerable with anyone, yet, including her parents.

Character back story ::
ৎ 02. She comes from a upper-middle class family, and is the only child. Her father was born and raised in England, while her mother was born and raised in China. They met when her mother shifted to England for job, and soon found out that the man she married is a wizard. She really didn't care much about it...well until she found out, her daughters the same.

Her father studied in Hogwarts as well and used to be in the very same house as her, Slytherin. Her mother is a professor, while her father used to work as a Curse-Breaker, serious job but he quit after lenny was born and decided to be a writer instead.

Being the only child and not very close to her parents, she spend most of her time reading, and writing. Which, by the way, made her father assume that she'd end up in Ravenclaw. Feeling insulted of this, she somehow started spending less time studying - her mother was furious but her father did not really care as he kindly put it for her ❝you are a witch anyway

After hearing the wonders of hogwarts from her father, she was...worried, what if she turns out to be...normal? that is, devastating.

Having no personal experience from magic, the only magic she saw was when her father rewarded her for being a good girl and showing her some of his small tricks, she knew they were quite useless and small, and he could do so much more, she still found those tricks fascinating, and she may have stolen - she however address those as 'borrowing' - some books from her father about magic and would've learnt a few spells, still, she was too much of a coward to actually do those.

First Instance of Magic :
ৎ 03. Her first instance of magic was rather uncommon, she was almost ten and was in a store with her mother, the woman standing behind her kept mumbling, and after a few minutes, she moved away, the women flashed her a smile and walked away, her mother raised brows curiously, she just shrugged and said 'she kept asking for it' she was talking in russian, lenny does not speak russian. they honestly even forgot about it, until the letter showed up.

-Please make it clear if you are applying to be a Parselmouth, which can both understand and speak Parselmouth and is a special talent, in which case you would have to write a 500 word application about why she has this talent as it is passed down from parent to offspring, or if you are applying for comprehend languages like you have in the ability applications thread, which will mean that you will have to remove the application here since comprehend languages is a special ability, it will also mean that Lenny will not be able to speak Parselmouth, only understand it, and you will also have to pick between Gobbledegook and Parselmouth

Evaline Valerie Hawthorne was born into the Hawthorne family at the height of its influence, a dynasty old enough that its wealth, estates, and political ties had long since stopped being counted. The Hawthornes were known for two things above all else: power, and secrecy. Their bloodlines were documented with obsessive precision. Every marriage, every inheritance, every heir was planned.

Which made the truth of Evaline’s ancestry all the more dangerous.

Centuries earlier, one Hawthorne heir vanished from public record. Officially, he died young. In reality, he had fallen in love with a vampire and fled the family entirely. When he returned years later, changed and bound by blood, the family erased the incident. The child born of that union was hidden, adopted into a distant branch of the family, and married strategically into human lines until the vampiric blood faded into rumor.

Or so they believed.

Generations passed without incident.

Then Evaline was born.

From the beginning, something about her unsettled the household. She was unnaturally quiet as an infant. She stared for long stretches without blinking. Her skin remained pale no matter the season, and servants complained of feeling watched when she was in the room, even as a toddler. When magical examinations were performed, they revealed an anomaly within her core: not corruption, not darkness, but something… foreign.

Old records were reopened.

The truth resurfaced.

Evaline carried one-quarter vampire blood.

Her parents, already advanced in age and politically cautious, reacted not with panic but calculation. The family convened in secrecy. This was not a curse to be destroyed, it was a legacy to be controlled. When Evaline was four, she was quietly relocated to live with her eldest brother, Hugh Hawthorne, and his wife Alara, both trusted, discreet, and loyal to the family’s interests.

Under their care, Evaline was raised with discipline and awareness.

She was taught restraint before she was taught spells.

Her dhampir traits manifested subtly. Her eyes darkened unnaturally in low light. Her senses sharpened without warning. Prolonged sunlight caused burning discomfort, though never lethal. On rare occasions, when startled or furious, her pupils expanded until her irises vanished entirely into black.

She frightened people without meaning to.

Animals avoided her.

Magic bent strangely around her emotions.

She does not require blood to survive and has never fed from another person. The family forbade it absolutely. Blood is treated not as nourishment, but as liability. At Hogwarts, the blood pops provided are a precaution — a safety measure — and she uses them sparingly, more out of discipline than desire.

Yet instinct remains.

Evaline possesses a predatory intuition she cannot fully suppress. She notices heartbeats in silence. She senses fear before it is spoken. When angered, her magic becomes unstable, overly forceful, and dangerously precise. Control is her greatest struggle.

Socially, her heritage is hidden.

Only her immediate family knows the truth.

To the world, she is merely an eccentric prodigy, pale, sharp-tongued, unsettling in ways no one can quite explain. Her fangs remain concealed, unsheathed only by reflex, and even then quickly hidden.

Evaline does not fear what she is.

She fears what might happen if she ever stops controlling it.

At Hogwarts, she intends to master both sides of herself — the witch, and the thing beneath — and ensure that whatever sleeps in her blood remains obedient.

Always.

Character Backstory:
Reducio
Evaline Valerie Hawthorne was born on a storm-softened summer night in the uppermost wing of the Hawthorne estate, a sprawling mansion tucked behind wrought-iron gates in the heart of London. The house had existed longer than most of the streets around it, its walls lined with portraits that watched new generations arrive with quiet judgment. She was the last child of two very old, very powerful parents, who had already lived most of their lives before she had taken her first breath. By the time Evaline was born, her mother’s hair was already silver, her father’s hands already trembling slightly when he held her.

She arrived small, sharp-eyed, and strangely alert. The healers said she barely cried. Instead, she stared.

Her seven brothers had been born across decades, raised half in splendor and half in expectation. By the time Evaline came along, the eldest were already nearly grown, some studying, some traveling, some fighting their own private wars with ambition and duty. To them, she was less a sister and more a miracle. A fragile, luminous thing in pink silk blankets, with their family’s name resting far too heavily on her tiny shoulders.

And they adored her.

From the moment she could walk, Evaline lived in a whirlwind of doting chaos. Each brother claimed a piece of her upbringing: one taught her languages before she could properly read, another snuck her into restricted areas, another showed her how to duel with toy wands that sparked too brightly for their age. They spoiled her shamelessly, gifts, gowns, enchanted trinkets, stories whispered past midnight about ancient magic and dangerous places.

But wealth, as it always does, came with distance.

Her parents loved her, yes—but gently, distantly, like one loves something precious and easily breakable. They were tired. Their world had slowed while hers was just beginning. Conversations were short. Touches rare. Responsibility heavy.

When Evaline was four, everything changed.

Her parents’ health worsened quietly, the kind of decline that happens behind closed doors and hushed corridors. Without ceremony, without drama, she was sent to live with her eldest brother, Hugh, and his wife, Alara. Not because she was unwanted, no, never that, but because they could no longer keep up with the storm she was becoming.

Hugh’s home was better. Warmer. Louder.

And there, Evaline truly grew.

Hugh raised her with discipline and indulgence in equal measure. Alara taught her elegance, posture, the art of smiling sweetly while planning three moves ahead. Her other brothers visited often, each leaving behind another lesson: spells too advanced for her age, habits too clever for a child, and a very particular worldview, one where power was protection, intelligence was survival, and affection was shown through vigilance.

They were fiercely protective.

No scraped knee went unanswered. No insult unremembered. Any child who made Evaline cry would, mysteriously, have their shoes transfigured into frogs or their homework combust into ash the next day.

Evaline learned early that she was… important.

Not just loved. Valued. Watched.

And with that came confidence, sharp, theatrical confidence. She learned to speak beautifully, to walk like she owned the room, to smile like she knew something you didn’t. In her community she became instantly popular: dazzling, strange, magnetic. She made friends easily, but only kept the ones who amused her, intrigued her, or challenged her.

She was generous with affection, ruthless with boredom.

Magic came to her early and violently. Toys levitated before she meant them to. Windows shattered when she cried.

By the time Hogwarts called her name, Evaline was already half legend among her family. A brilliant, unstable little jewel they had polished far too dangerously. She left for school with seven brothers’ warnings echoing in her ears, pockets stuffed with enchanted keepsakes, and the quiet certainty that the world was something she could bend, if she simply tried hard enough.

Under the glamour and arrogance, though, lived a child who had been raised by expectations and half-finished goodbyes. A girl who joked about chaos because stillness frightened her. Who chased danger because silence reminded her of empty hallways and aging parents and a mansion that had never quite felt like home.

And so Evaline became what she is now:

Brilliant. Reckless. Beloved. Slightly unhinged.

A child raised by power, wrapped in affection, and left just free enough to become dangerous.

Evaline was eight when it happened.
She had been sent to the corner shop by Alara, coins warm in her pocket, humming while she walked back down the street. It was quiet. Ordinary. The kind of afternoon that usually meant nothing interesting would happen.

Then she heard Cher.

Not crying. Just… tense.

Evaline slowed.

Around the corner stood three muggle boys. Older. Bigger. One of them had stepped in front of Cher, blocking her way.

“So you’re really a witch?” he said, laughing. “That’s stupid.”

Cher’s hands were shaking. “Leave me alone.”

Evaline stepped forward.

“Move,” she said.

The boy turned. Smirked. “Or what?”

Something inside her snapped.

She spoke fast. Sharp. Meaner than she meant to be. Words flew before she could stop them.

Her heart started racing.

The air felt wrong.

Heavy.

Windows nearby began to rattle. Dust lifted from the ground. Evaline felt heat rush through her hands.

Beside the wall, a small stack of stones rose.

Just… lifted.

Then scattered across the pavement.

One skidded to a stop inches from the boy’s foot.

Silence.

Nobody moved.

Evaline stared at the stones. At her hands. At Cher.

She wasn’t scared.

She was excited.

Of course.

Seven brothers. Strange accidents. Spells whispered at night.

She understood.

She was a witch.

There was a sharp crack.

A Ministry worker appeared. Quick wand movement. Quiet words.

The boy blinked.

Then wandered away, confused.

Evaline didn’t wait.

She ran.

All the way home.

She banged on the manor doors, breathless.

“HUGHHHH! IT HAPPENED!”

Hugh opened the door just in time for her to throw herself at him.

“I did magic,” she said. “Real magic.”

He laughed and hugged her tight.

“I’m so proud, Eva.”

And Evaline smiled.

She was going to Hogwarts.

Isabeau was born to parents Olivier and Celestine Nevara, the youngest child of three, as well as the only daughter. The family descends from French ancestors on both sides, and relocated to England ages before Isabeau's era.

She grew in Copley, England, within the walls of the quiet and safe family estate. The home is shielded and warded, isolating the family from muggles and unwanted visitors, protecting the safety of the family. The nearby temperatures were cold, and Isabeau often experienced freezing weather in the wintertime. Because of those conditions, Isabeau grew up adoring the snow and outdoor wintry activities, her favorite being figure skating, which she discovered one year when she accidentally slid on ice behind her home. After she kept sliding around on her shoes, no matter how many times she fell, her parents eventually bought her skates and hired an instructor. From being in the cold often as a child, Isabeau would often catch a cold and be forced to stay indoors until she recovered. Despite pitching fits, her parents never relented, and instead fostered other hobbies other than skating, such as playing the piano and drawing.

Growing up, Isabeau learnt about family history, academic skills, magic, and a few important lessons that shape her being. Her parents taught her the importance of the name she carried in a gentle, guiding way rather than through discipline and fear. Growing up, Isabeau and her brothers, Lucien and Théodore, were taught to observe before they react, and that the world doesn't forgive careless actions. They're also taught that repair means more than perfection. Olivier and Celestine teach their kids that everyone fails sometimes, and that it isn't about the mistake but how you move on and react to it. As children, they learned to notice, think, and act accordingly.

Since Isabeau is the family baby, she's well-loved and protected, especially by her two older brothers. Lucien, the oldest at 16 years old, acts as an overbearing second father on occasion, much to Isabeau's dismay, while 14-year-old Théodore has much more charm. Achieving top marks in his classes, Lucien is the serious one of the three, speaking with purpose and doing everything with intention. Witty in his own way, Théodore is a charmer, loved even though he's not perfect. He's more laid back, emotionally expressive, and adapts effortlessly when he messes up. With Lucien's steady presence and Théo's witty and free attitude, the two together were her rock growing up. And now, watching both of them succeed in different ways only sharpened her desire to desperately do things right.

First Instance of Magic:
Reducio
As a child born into a pureblooded home, Isabeau hated chores. Typically, one of the house elves would clean up after her as a child, so naturally, she hated making her bed, cleaning her room, or putting her toys away. At five years old, Isabeau's mother decided that she could take care of a few small responsibilities, such as cleaning up her own space. Five-year-old Isabeau heavily disagreed. After tears, a small tantrum, and a time-out, she reluctantly gave in. If one walked into the toy room on that day, they'd find a frustrated and quite peeved five-year-old Isabeau, ready to burst into tears again as some old blocks refused to stack. After falling multiple times and a couple of blocks thrown around the room, one would be surprised to see the toys levitating back to where they belong.

Ophelia was certainly not ready for this new life. This was what she was realizing just now, as she was saying her goodbyes to her parents and brother. She didn't know anything about magic, she didn't even believe it was real a year ago, how was she suddenly moving to an apparently overly huge castle to learn about it? She didn't want to leave anything valuable to her behind, hence having thought of bringing her phone with her, but her mother was quick to catch the feigned innocent look she'd given them when they were walking to the car, and took her phone. The witch who'd visited them, explaining the family about magic, had specifically told them that electronics weren't to be brought into the castle; that was what made Ophelia's parents a bit more hopeful about the new world: Ophelia could spend more time living her life instead of being on her phone all the time.

Walking in the Hogwarts Express, she felt uneasy. She'd never been away from her phone, or the TV, or her headphones, for more than a day. Oh, how could she survive months and years without them? That was for her to find out. She could find new friends and try out new hobbies. She could relax in the library and read (Hogwarts had a library, for sure, she'd thought). She could just do something.

She was sure, after some deep thinking, that learning to cast spells, making potions, hanging out with her friends, and doing her homework would take away all her free time; she wouldn't have time for playing on her phone anyway.

On the other hand, despite still feeling uneasy about leaving her stuff at home, she also felt excited. She was given the opportunity to discover a whole new world that not even her parents had believed in. And she was doing it all alone, for now; no parents, no brother, no family. Oh, now that she thought about it, it felt kind of sad. She wasn't allowed to even tell her friends about this! She was so excited she could've talked about it any time, but she controlled her mouth. They must've thought she was an unkind being because she didn't tell them the reason she was going to another school. She didn't like this one bit, but since she had to get used to it, she decided not to let it ruin her mood.

At least in summer, or any other holiday, she could go back and have fun with her family: movie nights, road trips, going to the cinema, and playing video games with her brother. She was looking forward to that as much as she was looking forward to the new school.

Character Backstory:
History:
Reducio
Ophelia grew up in a loving household; her parents loved to travel, and they made sure to show their first child the world she was going to grow up in. Traveling with a 2-year-old was certainly exhausting, but it was worth the fun they had, visiting the famous attractions in multiple countries, including their home-country. Ophelia had the attention of the whole family since she could remember. It was tiring for her, of course, being the oldest grandchild on her dad's side and the second-oldest on her mom's, but she couldn't deny the fact that she sometimes enjoyed being coddled. Her whole family lived in Iran, but she wasn't all that familiar with everyone in her family because she and her parents moved to England after she turned 2 years old, so the times when she could feel free of the hovering and visiting this and that person were on school days. Fortunately, since both her parents had to work, she was left in the kindergarten for hours, playing with the teachers and other children her age. Years later, when Ophelia was 7 years old, she started primary school. As much as she liked kindergarten and preschool, which she'd visited the previous year, she didn't want to leave her parents on her first day of primary school. It took lots of reassurance for her to at least try to go in the building and find new friends. At first, she found it difficult to make new friends because some of the children already knew each other from years ago, but after the first two weeks, she finally found two friends with whom she really got along.
Her brother, who was around three years younger than her, was the one who received most of the family's attention after he was born, and Ophelia was grateful for that. She loved her brother probably more than she loved her parents, feeling more protective of him as they grew up, but only just enough to not make him feel protected or hovered, like she had felt when she was his age with their parents. Their parents let her brother, Ilia, do things they were sceptical about her doing when she was his age, because he was the second child and they now had some experience with their first, knowing what to be concerned about and what not. Her brother grew up to be the opposite of her; while she was an introverted, calm, and collected person, Ilia proved to be a ball of energy who radiated rays of sunshine. Despite being opposites, they had a quite lovely relationship and protected each other emotionally, because none of them would dare stand up against their parents when they were frustrated and angry, but they would be with and comfort each other afterwards.

First Instance of magic:

She was just playing with her parents inside the flat. Her mother was blowing soap bubbles in the air, and she was jumping up with excitement, popping them one by one. One of the bigger bubbles floated over to her hand, but as it landed on her skin, it didn't pop. The 3-year-old Ophelia looked at the bubble with awe and poked it multiple times, trying to do so even with her nose and chin, but the bubble stayed firm. She tried to shake it off her arm, make it fall or slip on the floor, but the bubble stayed still. She sat down and held her arm a few centimeters above the ground, lowered it slowly, and as the bubble touched the floor, it popped. Her father, who, along with her mother, was looking at her in astonishment and was also speechless, picked her up and took a thorough look at her, checking for abnormalities. “No bubble would stay unpopped for 2 minutes when touching skin,” was what her mother had said. Ophelia didn’t understand the weird, concerned, and astonished looks her parents gave her; afterall, it was just a bubble. Years passed, and her parents decided to keep this a secret, telling themselves what Ophelia had thought: “It was just a bubble.” No, yes, maybe they were really just overreacting. Nothing was wrong with their daughter; something must’ve been wrong with that bubble, but not with their daughter. They wouldn’t accept that! It was just a bubble. They didn’t tell anyone about it, and they didn’t even tell Ophelia about it when she grew older. They didn’t want to think about it, to live with the knowledge that their daughter wasn’t normal.

Physical Description (Look):
Reducio
Ophelia has long, black hair that comes down to her mid-back. Her eyes are a dark brown, which would look lighter than they actually are if light is directly shone on them; if she's in normal lighting, her pupil would barely be visible. She has a tan-ish skin, which turns one or two shades lighter in the winter. She has an average build and is 145 centimeters. Ophelia likes to wear minimalist gold - or silver, if she likes to differ, but usually always gold - jewelry, such as small, round earrings, and a necklace with one or two small charms. She has a round but also oval-ish face shape, thick eyebrows, and long lashes. Her nose is flat, and her lips are medium-small. Her rest-face is usually bored or tired-looking, which she believes looks scary on her, so she usually keeps her eyebrows up and tries to have a facial expression, even if it includes just smiling or pursing her lips.

I have two brothers (John and Frederic) none of them is magical and my parents(Eileen and Karl). My mom is a witch and my dad’s a muggle. That is my family:Image I really love all of them although my big brother is sometimes very annoying. I’m a family guy… I live in a quite big house in Aberdeen and I have a cat and an owl. My house looks like this ImageMy owl‘s name is Charlotte and my cats name is lily and they’re both still very small. But sadly I can’t bring any of them to Hogwarts because my parents say that they are still to small and that they won’t resist under that stress in Hogwarts:(.

First Instance Of Accidental Magic:

On 12nd of June 2020, when I had a fight with my big brother because he took my favourite book and didn’t give it back I was unbelievable angry and screamed at him. I went into my room and threw my door shut. Then suddenly my lamp burst. I was very shocked and told my mum what happened so she told me that there are not just muggles but also wizards and that I’m a witch. I first didn’t believe her and thought that this was just a not very funny joke. But then she showed me what she could do and I just had to believe her. It looked like that when my lamp burst :

After that I started studying very much because I’m very interested in the magical world and I want to learn as much as possible.

Hobby’s and free time:

I love reading (because my grandparents in Aberdeen have their own library)and playing the Violine because it’s just fun and then I can relax and chill. I play the Violine since I’m four and I often play at concerts. I read since I can read which was also with four. Also I love to be creative and do something with my little brother.

Magical Life/Dreams:

I’m really happy that I’m now in Hogwarts because it was always my dream to do something like that. I’m really excited to learn more and I hope that after the ceremony I’m rawenclaw, because I think that I’m quite smart(this is not supposed to sound arrogant)

I’m also excited to learn flying. Because it is something which sounded impossible to me when I thought there’s nothing more than a muggle

My surname is a German surname because my father is German so I can speak German and English. My family lives in Aberdeenshire because my mom is from there. My grandparents also live here and we often visit them. My mom told me that my grandparents are both wizards. My aunt(moms sister) is a Squib but luckily she’s not jealous but happy for my mother and me. My other grandparents ( my dads parents) live in Germany and I have only seen them once when my little brother was born, but I don’t really remember. In Aberdeen we already had to shift once when I was 5, because our house was to small for all three kids. But I think that was good because the new house looks way better than the old one.

Mental Description:
I’m very funny and smart but I often feel alone because I don’t have many friends. I can be very furious but that’s very uncommon for me. Most of the time I’m relaxed and if there’s any problem I always think logical to solve that problem.

Application for metamaphorgus:
Reducio

It was actually a completely normal, quiet Saturday morning, except for one very important detail: it was my birthday. My very special birthday, because I had finally turned eight years old. I felt older, wiser, and a little bit braver already. The day itself was stunningly beautiful. Warm, golden sunlight streamed gently through my window, and its soft yellow rays tickled my sleepy face as I slowly opened my eyes. I had to blink several times because the light was surprisingly bright and cheerful.

With a long, lazy yawn, I stretched my arms and legs and then dramatically flung my fluffy featherbed cover aside. Full of excitement, I jumped out of bed and quickly slipped my feet into my cozy, worn slippers. The air in my room felt cool and slightly chilly, especially compared to the wonderful warmth that had been hiding under my blankets. The whole house was silent and calm. No one else was awake yet, since I was always the earliest riser in my family.

I padded softly across my room and stood in front of the mirror, wrestling stubbornly with my messy morning hair. I wanted to look especially beautiful today. After all, it was my birthday, and birthdays were important. With great care, I walked over to my big, old wooden wardrobe and opened its slightly creaking door. Inside, I pulled out my favorite dress, the one that made me feel happy and confident. Once I had put it on, I admired myself in the built-in mirror.

Suddenly, my heart skipped a beat. I froze. My nose looked like a pig’s nose. A pink, round, ridiculous pig’s nose stared back at me. I gasped. I must be dreaming. Quickly, I pinched myself hard on the arm. Ouch! That really hurt. So I wasn’t dreaming at all. This couldn’t be happening. Not today. Not on my birthday.

We were supposed to go to a nice, cozy restaurant later with my family. A wonderful Italian restaurant with warm lights, friendly waiters, and the most incredibly delicious lasagna in the world. But how was I supposed to go there looking like a pig? The thought was so absurd that I started to giggle. The whole situation felt unreal and strangely funny.

Curious, I stared at my reflection again. Maybe I could change something else. I focused very hard and imagined my hair turning bright blue. To my amazement, it worked. My hair shimmered like the sky. This was the best birthday present ever. Still, I wanted my normal nose back. I concentrated again, but suddenly I had an ugly, yellow, long, pointy beak instead. A beak! I tried to speak, but no sound came out. Frustrated, I tried once more.

Finally, my nose returned. My real nose. But it was green. Bright green, like fresh grass on a sunny day. Exhausted and annoyed, I plopped back onto my bed. Maybe it would go away if I relaxed. I snuggled into my blanket, turned on my small bedside light, and began reading my favorite book. After a few quiet minutes, I heard a soft popping sound. I rushed to the mirror. I was normal again. What a relief! 😅

Thomas was accepting as he was young and had no idea what that really meant. It changed his perspective on people. He was then kind to everyone he met because he knew that people could really be going through something and never to judge. His mom passed away when he was seven years old. She died from complications from a potion. It exploded in her face. He knew one thing he was going to change this world. He wanted to fix the stigma with half bloods and muggle borns. When he was seven and his brother and sister explained that to him he actually started crying. He stopped though once they told him not everyone thinks that. They always promised to bring him back sweets from Honeydukes but never did, which honestly made him quite frustrated. His mother met her father at a young age as she was born from a half blood as well who chose not to tell Thomas mother the truth. Hi Thomas! I'll be going through your index app to help you get registered. There's a few things I'll need you to take a look at first:

-You mention Thomas's mother in the backstory, but I see he also has a muggle father - could you give a bit more information there about who his father was, and maybe briefly how his mother met a muggle to marry?
- Please make sure that your history section is also copied into your encyclopedia
- You mention Thomas's name, and then you say his sibling was also named Thomas - was that a mistake?
- For the werewolf story, there's unfortunately one detail that will need to be amended. Werewolf bites are very dangerous and damaging, and if Thomas was bit, he would need medical attention (silver and dittany) to survive the wound...it isn't the kind of thing he could just walk away from. I know that does conflict a bit with your story of his mother being in denial, but can you work that in somehow, some way that he is able to survive the attack? Even if the werewolf did leave him alive, he would be in a bad condition after without magical intervention. Let me know if you have any question about this!
STATUS: Pending, Elena, February 02nd
Thank you for working with us and making the edits requested!! Just a few edits left and we'll be able to get you registered :
- As Jake mentioned above, please give us more information about his father! As your character is a halfblood, he needs to be a muggle, and we would need more details about who he is, as well as how Thomas' mother came to meet and marry him.
Has been edited for both of the pendings as of now! I’ve decided to not go for werewolf just plain old human.

Marvin is the middle child of four siblings. They were born on April 23, 2014, in Plymouth, England, where they spent their childhood years.

Their eldest siblings are boy-girl twins, Elaine and Vince, both born June 3, 2005, and have long graduated from Hogwarts. Their second-youngest, a girl named Adelynn, was born on December 9, 2019. And their youngest, a boy named Beau, was born on March 29, 2024, who has many years ahead of him until Hogwarts.

Marvin's parents are extremely busy, which is why every child they have is born so far apart. They don't have time to settle down for a couple of years and have kids; they have to plan around when they can be free. Marvin's mom, Edyth Howle (i. e. Ferlet), works as an Auror, and Marvin's other mom, Myrle Howle, works as a Curse-Breaker. They usually have kids through some magical supplements.

With the absence of their parents in the house, the kids are used to being solitary, and rely on themselves. There has been a nanny ever since the twins moved out, but she comes and goes when needed and is barely seen around the house otherwise when playing with Beau. Marvin has never minded how their family is, and their parents make the most of it when they are home for a week, or weekend.

With a built-in library in their house, reading had become a common hobby between all siblings, and they bonded most when talking about stories they’ve read or want to create. Their first instance of magic was during a reading night, the week their parents were home from work. Marvin was around seven, and got so absorbed in their book that their magic manifested like a Howler and blurted out everything they had been reading. That’s one of their most fond moments with their parents as they laughed so hard at it, but for Marvin’s siblings, they teased them till the ends of the earth about it.

First Instance of Magic:

Their first instance of magic is something they usually keep to themselves out of embarrassment, so if asked, they would avoid the question until you were closer friends. It happened around the age of seven when their parents were home for the week and decided to have a reading night. Whilst reading, Marvin got so absorbed in their story that their magic manifested like a Howler and blurted out everything in their chapter. Their parents found it awfully hilarious, but their older siblings teased them and called them 'Howler' for years.

I concentrated, but now I had an ugly, yellow, long, pointy beak. A beak! I tried to speak. Nothing. Man! It couldn't be that hard! I focused all my concentration on my nose, and suddenly I had my normal nose back, my nose! But something was strange. My nose, it was green! Green like an apple, no, green like grass. Frustrated, I plopped back down on my bed. Maybe it will go away if I relax, I thought, and snuggled into my blanket, turned on my light, and began to read my favorite book in the dim light. After a few minutes, I felt a soft popping sound and immediately looked in the mirror again. I looked normal again! What a relief! Just then, my mother knocked on the door. My hair turned yellow from all the excitement. I quickly climbed into bed and buried my head under the covers so my mother wouldn't see my sun-yellow hair. Then the door opened, and she began singing a lovely birthday song in my honor. "Thank you," I whispered, and she left my room with a smile to make breakfast. A short while later, I could smell the warm, freshly baked aroma of pancakes in my room, and I felt incredibly warm and cozy inside. My hair was finally back to its usual nutty brown color and had its normal curls again. I go downstairs to the dining table, hoping that nothing else will happen and that I can continue to enjoy my birthday as normal. Later in the day I told my mom what happens that morning and she told me that everything was fine as she could do that aswell. My grandma could also do that so my mom told me that this was coming from my genes. She also struggled with that talent and my mom also told me that she actually moved because of that talent. My grandma later told me that she could show me a bit how it worked .

From a young age, Iris never knew how to stay still. If she wasn't burying her hands in the damp earth of the clearing, she was asking too many questions for the patience of the adults accompanying her, connecting ideas that only made sense inside her head. Curiously, these ideas actually worked…sometimes! Her mind always seemed to function in rhythm with her body. She grew up always offering an easy and captivating laugh, even when situations were more complicated. But chaos always seemed to accompany her, and this, therefore, was already part of who she was and not necessarily a problem to be solved. She often justified disobeying rules with the need to exercise her compassion. Iris was always extremely intuitive but always sought answers, even answers that only she understood.

Often, even subtly, Iris heard other people in the village comment that her more eccentric personality was due to her somewhat questionable heritage. Sometimes these comments even had a friendly and appreciative tone, as something that somehow made her unique and singular. But for the most part, these sayings were accompanied by prejudice and disdain. Her father, Aruan Jurema, always told her and advised her not to pay attention to these kinds of comments, but Iris's questioning mind wouldn't allow her to ignore certain things she heard, things that often, surprisingly, made no sense to her.

Therefore, Iris always knew from a very young age that she was a little different from the people around her. But her father and family always encouraged her to forget about this and not give it importance, as there were things better left in the family's past. There was a certain sense of protection and some apprehension in the way her family looked at her and talked about this subject, making Iris increasingly curious about her heritage as she grew up and became aware of her true genetic identity.

It was only when her magic first emerged, at the age of seven, when her parents were certain she would eventually receive her letter to attend Castelobruxo, that Iris learned the whole truth about herself and her ancestry and finally got her answers!

Aruan Jurema sat with his little girl and finally revealed her goblin heritage. Aruan's great-grandfather, named Ícaro Nogueira, had been a goblin who married a witch almost a century and a quarter ago. From there, came the lineage of his mother, Iris's grandmother, Jaci Nogueira, making Iris one sixteenth part goblin.

From then on, Iris finally understood her roots and the reason for her peculiar characteristics, different from the people who surrounded her in the Clareira Verdenó, the village where she was born and raised in the Amazon rainforest. She got to understand why her ears were slightly more pointed, why her stature was shorter than the other children's, why her hands and feet seemed slightly disproportionate to her height and build.

It was also from that moment that she understood and realized how important it was to ignore certain comments directed at her and her family. It was important to protect herself and her loved ones. Especially once she entered Castelobruxo, it was essential that she hide as much as possible the features that made her a little different. It was here that she began to enjoy making her own hair accessories. Accessories that, besides being beautiful and reflecting her creativity and identity, also ensured that her hair stayed over her ears, covering their pointed shape. It was in this way that little Iris managed to attend and finish her studies at the famous South American school of magic.

Character Backstory:
Iris was born in Brazil in 2001, in the state of Manaus, near a place known as the “Terra das Cachoeiras”, Presidente Figueiredo. But Iris and her family lived in a more isolated place in the forest, known as Clareira Verdenó. It was located far from the Muggle population, a small wizarding community that has existed there for centuries, keeping the gaze of non-magical people away from its existence and their inhabitants’ antics.

Iris Jurema is the only child of a mother of Scottish origin named Indigo McCoire, but whose more recent roots are in the United States of America. It was there that she was born and studied, at Ilvermorny, until she became a Herbologist and, on her own initiative continued her studies at an Institute of Hybrid Herbology that led her to went to live in the Amazon, a place where there is so much to know, learn, and discover in this field. It is no coincidence that Castelobruxo is so famous for its specialization in Herbology and magic linked to the forces of nature.

It was there, amidst the dense and lush vegetation of the tropical forest, that Indigo met Aruan Jurema, who would become Iris's father. Indigo's passion for the forest and all its natural elements, combined with Aruan's knowledge of the place, was the bond that connected them and strengthened their partnership. They fell in love and formed a family, passing on to their daughter, from a very young age, that fascination, interest and respect for nature and its magic.

When the time was right, Iris received her acceptance letter to Castelobruxo, and so began her magical studies. Initially, Indigo and Aruan were worried about letting her go. Iris was very protected within her small family circle and friendly faces in the community, and the move to the school's location was not easy for her and her parents at first. But she soon adapted, her radiant and positive personality made all worries disappear after a while.

Iris finished her studies with good grades, especially in Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures, but this came as no surprise to her or those who knew her. Upon returning from Castelobruxo, Iris worked with her parents in the small reserve next to the village where they live. Along with her mother and other specialists, Iris’ job was to tend all the plants in the greenhouse and in the dedicated planting and care areas.

Due to her charisma and contagious personality, Iris also began working as a teacher at the small primary school in her area, helping the children begin their first steps in their learnings. Together with them, she created a small vegetable and mundane herbs garden next to the school, a small project that brought many joyful and educational moments to the young folks, and to her, obviously.

As soon as she heard, through her family in Scotland, that Hogwarts was hiring for the position of Herbology professor, Iris didn't hesitate to send her application. Who wouldn't want to visit one of the most famous schools in the world, live and work there, and take the opportunity for a new adventure?

First Instance of Magic:
It was a hot and humid day, and Iris, seven years old at the time, decided to follow her mother to one of the cooler places in the forest. Indigo walked with her daughter to one of the many waterfalls, hidden in a paradisiacal corner of the forest. The place was surrounded by trees and beautiful tropical flowers that dotted the scenery with beautiful and vibrant colors. Iris's mother had been to that place many times to find a serene and relaxing spot to catch up on her writings. She usually used that time to organize the notes she had made during that day's journey and occasionally to write and answer letters from relatives who lived further away.

While her mother was putting her writings into place, Iris played in the lake formed beneath the waterfall. There was a small natural rock formation that served as an excellent place to jump into the water. And Iris loved playing, jumping and striking new poses until she fell into the lake of fresh and comforting waters.

It was during one of these jumps that her magic also decided to leap to the surface of her being. Iris took her highest leap ever, followed by an acrobatic somersault in the air. Everything seemed more or less normal, or as normal as they could be in the presence of Iris Jurema. Everything looked as usual as always, until the moment the little girl struck and pierced the lake's waters. As her little body fell, the water cascaded and exploded around her in a much more pronounced way than one would expect for a child of her size and stature. It was as if the waters reflected the excitement and joy of the girl playing in them.

Her mother found her writings all smeared and soaked in water, but she gave her daughter the brightest smiles of all, so proud of her little flower that had achieved another phase in her young life. Iris was proud of herself too, happy that she would soon be able to perform magic like her mamãe and papai! (mom and dad).
