Defense Against the Dark Arts
As he sat down for the class he saw Marcus and everybody else has always he was fascinated in these creatures of the shadows and how they haunted fellow wizards. He took out his notebook and looked around he was pretty sure the only guy that cared for this class. As he wrote notes he was hallucinating things like ghosts roaming around the class it was weird as "he looks around the room for more ghost to appear out of the abyss". Nah I bet some lame trick somebody's pulling with their wand or something like that. Which he knew wasn't exactly true because that will be amazing but nobody has that level capacity yet. Only if they were like him smart and they can make something blow up in seconds. As he wrote down some more stuff he noticed a Owl on the window. Weird he says to himself, I wish I had one like that or any animal as a pet as he started missing his home and his cat Nastros. Well he started reading out of the text book of the dark arts and also reading a little bit more on the fantastic beast's and were to find them which he liked and wanted to find these beast's like some did before him.

Defense Against the Dark Arts
Oliver walked into class with a brisk pace, books stacked in his arms. He looked around class with a sharp eye, approaching an empty seat and placing his books on the desk. He sat down, back straight as he went to work, opening a book at getting to reading. He gave a side eye to everyone else who was there, severely wishing Innis was there. He had so much gossip he wanted to spill, and she was his favorite gossip-sharer. Oliver closed his books, taking his quill and scrawling on a spare scroll. "Frankly." He scoffed to himself, eyeing the kids around him. He thought for a moment, staring out the window. He couldn't help but think about going outside. If being an Auror or professor didn't work out for him, he could be an adventurer. Not the best plan money-wise, but as long as he got a fair wife or Husband, father wouldn't mind setting him up with money for most his life. However, he wouldn't particularly like the idea of being dependent of his father his whole life. He wasn't certain his future spouse would like it, but there was a bigger problem; he wouldn't want a partner. He was a lone ranger. Suddenly, he was thrown back to reality. Right: Class. What were they doing, again? No matter, he went back to writing on his scroll, writing basic things he remembered about this. Merlin, how would he be able to keep up when he was do daft?

Innis practically tripped over her self getting in. She sat down beside Oliver, and glanced around, interested. "Cool, right? We actually get to practice magic here." She set her pack on her lap, and straightened her shoulders. She looked like a fresh person that day, eyes glowing, chin up, hair neatly done. Innis stretched, and took in more detail of the room. She glanced warily at every student, then looked around for a specific one. "Do you think Kendra will be here? I can't tell. I hope she is- or I'd be only with.." She smiled in a teasing way. "You. No, I'm kidding- it's just nice to have a new person around, you know? Well- you probably don't know, actually."
Being her usual chatterbox self, she glanced around for anything to take notes on. She then shrugged, and pulled out "Fantastic beats and where to find Them". She wrote down the name, description, then a pretty good sketch of what the creature looked like in her journal. She slammed the journal shut, and glared at Oliver.
"Have you taken any notes yet? You should, it's important. I've gotten a lot of notes from the Fungus book, but now I'm on beasts. I'm not lying, it'll help out later on." Innis warned him, eyebrows raising.

Oliver listened to his close friend ramble, an eyebrow raised
"Yes, It is pretty cool we get to practice here. You think we'll do any," He leaned in close. "Curses?" He grinned devishly.
"Anyways, of course Kendra won't be here. I haven't seen her yet, and I'm very observant." He drawled, looking at Innis with a side eye.
"You see these kids? They're all total flunks. Dumb or barely have a trace of magic in their blood. Luckily you have me, so you're neither." He followed suit, opening a book and reading it for a bit.
"Of course I've been studying, duh." Oliver said without taking her eyes off the notes. "I've been writing some things down for a few minutes, but that's just observations about everyone here and my rambles. You see that kid over there? Horrible hair. It's not that hard to get it cut, Merlin! It looks like its gonna leap off his head." Oliver teased under his breath, grinning at Innis wildly.
"I don't need to try too hard on notes, they come naturally. Plus, father could just pay for a tutor at home." Oliver shrugged, scrawling down some notes.
"Are you even writing or reading anything about Defense Against The Dark Arts?" Oliver scoffed, raising his eyebrow. "Do your work, woman! I won't have your back when you fail-- what's the Hogwarts version of grades? Curses? You get the death curse for flunking." Oliver snickered loudly at his own joke, he found it very hilarious for some reason.

Lisabetta walked into the classroom, seeing that most of the other students had already paired up and were either busy taking notes, talking, or both in some cases. She sat behind two students who were eagerly chattering away in front of her, seeming to be part apart the class and part about someone needing a haircut. Lisabetta smiled slightly to herself, sounded just like her outgoing and loud best friend. She knew that most people shouldn't go through life with only one friend, but if that one friend was Elvira, they might be able to make it.
Lisabetta took out her copy of The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection placing it in front of her, along with some parchment, quill and ink. She was, by no means, behind on Defense Against the Dark Arts, but she didn't feel as comfortable in this class as her others and if she actually wanted to make something of herself and come out from her family's shadow, then she needed to excel at everything, or at least until she figured out what she wanted to do with her life.
Being just the Duchess of Florence, marrying some other royal or pureblood elite that was probably boring, and having children to live on the family legacy was not what Lisabetta wanted for herself. So she put her head to her book and began taking as many notes as she could, hopefully she would have enough ink.

Innis stuck out her tongue at him. "I'll take notes when there is any notes I need to take. Also, don't go discriminating everyone. You're gonna gain some enemies, and I won't always be there to be behind your back. So just.." She hesitated. "Stay out of trouble."
Innis pulled down her robe sleeves to cover her hands. "Anyway, curses are horrible, you little devil! Can you really live with the guilt that you cursed someone? Honestly, Oliver, you have a snake in your soul!" She laughed breezily, leaning back. She took her wand from her pocket, and studied it. "Chestnut wood, phoenix feather. 26,2 centimeters. Attracted to energic and quick to think people." Innis's tone was brisk, and she set it in her lap. "Rather bendy, too."
Reaching forward, she suddenly flicked Oliver's ear. " 1, 2, 3, process. What now?" Her expression went placid, but a smile was tugging at the corners of her mouth. "..Pft, sorry. Quick question, what do you think a Blast-Ended Skrewt is? Give me a description and what they do." She snatched up her beasts journal, and hid it. "No looking at anything. Just guess, if your lost, I suppose. But it's rather famous- you should know, maybe your pure-blood parents have told you it as a horror story or whatever."

Lex nodded at the answer and seemed to be satisfied with it. For now. 'Send wands or people flying, huh? Wonder how strong it can be. I have to test it out someday if I EVER get the hang of it.'
When he was accused for stalling, he couldn't help grumble a little. "I'm not stalling..." he quietly defended himself, though maybe it did seem like he was. But wasn't Arceus stalling too? He's been asking him to do the spell more instead of practicing himself. He supposed the other was just considerate of his abilities. Perhaps after this, the Prefect himself should give it a go. Arceus then cheered Lex on, making him smile a little before he returned stoic.
After a short moment, Lex got himself into a small stance with his wand held at level with his chest. 'a clockwise swirl, and a swish to the upper left.' he recalled as he did the gestures a bit more smoothly and faster. "Expelliarmus!" he said in a voice not too loud, but still much more audible than his usual tone. A small flash of white light struck the floor, causing no effect. Lex felt the spell worked though, and he didn't blink or flinch this time. That was a victory itself by his standards.
He looked over to Arceus "I don't know whether that's correct or just a flashy light show, but you should practice now. I'm sure I did enough practice for now." He'd admit it was quite challenging and fun to cast spells, though. "You should have a go at it." Sidestepping, he gave Arceus some space for practice. He rubbed his eyes, feeling tired "I'm going to leave class soon, so give it your best shot I suppose."

"Merlin, Innis. You ask too many questions." Oliver snickered, leaning over to Innis. "And of course I wouldn't curse anyone. Just 'cause my father would and probably has, doesn't mean I will. It skips a generation. Plus, I'm almost never rude up-front. Granted, back at home I have nobody to be rude to, but I'm not an idiot to know I can make dangerous enemies by being honest."
Oliver began reading up on his books, scrawling down more and more information on his scroll. Oliver furrowed his brow, smacking Innis's hand away with a grunt.
"Eh? What do you want, woman?" He looked at Innis and frowned when she asked her question.
"Oh. Aren't they, like, big scorpions? They can blast themselves at enemies." Oliver listed slowly. "Yeah, I did a study on them!" He stuck out his tongue. "I'm no gryffindor, Innis, I can read."
He turned back to his book, reading calmly. "Have you ever thought about how some wizardborns and purebloods don't know about a thermos? Utterly the smallest little thing, they don't know about them. The only reason why my father didn't raise me in the wizard world is because my uncle-- his brother, is a doctor or some other stupid thing. I mean, he's a pureblood! Why would he just throw that all away to be a doctor?" He put the quill to his chin. "Are you a pureblood? I always forget." He shrugged, leaning back a bit as he studied the room once more.

Juliana is sitting alone she realized that she could not just practice by herself. So she looked around the room, she saw a lone student with no partner but he does seem to be correcting another student. Hmm... He does look like trouble. She walks up to him. "Hi. Wanna be partners? I'm really bored. And I might look like a Slytherin but I'm not. Call me Puppet since I hate my first name" Juliana said standing next to the boy. "What's your name?" She asked. Juliana seemed to talk to Slytherins more than she would talk to her own house: Griffindor. But it was no surprise, she wanted to be in Slytherin, she did not think Griffindor was her house, she thought it was stupid. She looked at her book, reading the lesson

Horace peeks into the class "I guess i will be studying here for a while..." he sighs as he walks in and gets a seat at the corner mostly to avoid the noise and chaos of first years trying out new spells. He avoided the class for so long because he thought it to be a waste of time to learn the minor spells he has already mastered and he didn't want to brag about it instead he found the time valuable to read some new stuff in the house dormitory and learn about the castle but alas he was caught by a prefect while he was roaming in the hallways and therefore he was finally sent to attend his class.
He was quite used to be studying in a noisy environment thanks to his cousins but he was still not able to focus mostly because he was amused by the students casting spells and wanted to join in but then again whenever he tried to have fun with spells or teach others about them he was seen as bragging about his expertise but instead it was his passion about magic that made him teach others or show off his skills. He was not sure how he became so good at it maybe its the countless nights he spent reading spell books or maybe that his family has given him a private tutor since...as long as he can remember.
As he tried his best to concentrate he saw a couple of boys trying spells on each other they seemed especially odd to him. He watched as lex (thats what the other boy was calling him as) tries to cast the disarming charm but fails by just a bit he stands up as if he feels the urge to go and show him how its done for the perfectionist he was but then again he didn't want to be bragging again. 'Ok i will just go there and tell them how to do it its like reading out of a book its not like i am doing the spell....yeah.....that will work....maybe?' he thought to himself as he walked upto the the boys and told lex "You were just lacking a bit of confidence and willpower the wand movement and incantation was good enough for a minor disarming charm! Do you mind trying again?"
