Sophia was reluctant to go after another flag after what'd happened to poor Rita, but the game was still on so she had little choice in the matter.

She had to be more careful, and if that meant being a bit slower, or a bit less assertive with her actions, then she would accept that. Purposeful or not, the last thing Sophia wanted was another unconscious person on her conscience, even if they were technically on the other teams.

Making it across the wheel puzzle wasn't much of a challenge due to her slow and steady caution, but once she finally boarded the ship of the Pink Parrots, she knew it was going to be quite a challenge to get the flag. There was a girl guarding it that was not only older, but she was also wielding a lasso like a cowgirl. Sophia felt more than a little helpless as she saw the girl wrangling fellow players like cattle, but still she went for the flag.

...only to feel the rope tangle itself around her wrist and catch the devilish smirk on the girl's face. After a sudden yank, she found herself spinning like a cartoon character and falling roughly onto her bottom.

"Ouch. A lasso? Really?" she asked rhetorically as she stood and rubbed her sore behind, but the real pain was in her pride.

Well, at least she hadn't knocked anyone out this time. Small victories.

Ayako was feeling her normal competitors' high from the previous capture, so it only made sense that she would make the rookie mistake of becoming overconfident.

As expected, the obstacle leading to the Sapphire Swashbucklers' ship was child's play. Her expertise when it came to footwork guided her steadily around the swinging dummies, allowing her to reach the ship without a single scratch.

Last time, she'd managed to avoid the defender with ease, grasping the jolly roger and returning to the ship, the only obstacle being an annoying Hogwarts student who'd happened to stand right in her way.

(Ayako made a mental note to look into that student. It had been quite a surprise that he'd not only spoken fluent Japanese, but he'd also seemed to have the same no-nonsense attitude as herself. He could prove to be a worthy ally in her pursuit of self-improvement.)

As she reached the ship this time, however, something felt off. It was just a nagging sensation at the base of her skull. A primal feeling that something wasn't right.

Trying her best to shake off her instinct - which would turn out to be a mistake - Ayako ran quickly to the target flag once more and reached out for it, only to see it escaping her grasp as she felt a collision from her left side.

"Damn it!"

Having studied Aikido for a decently long time, recovering her footing wasn't much of an issue, but now the defender saw her clearly and she was positive she'd have a nasty bruise on her left side. She offered the defending girl a nasty glare and tactically retreated to her own ship. This wasn't the end. She would get her revenge.

Louca looked around at his team, unsure of how to react to his failure. Though admittedly he didn't always win but still it was a bit of a downer. At least they had some flags. Shrugging as they discussed what to do next, he only put in his preference. After having beaten, he wanted to go back and try to get past that wall of water. Grinning with determination, he turned back to face the proper team, watching the wall of water as if it was alive. It soon took over his vision, the only thing he could focus on.

Once he was able to take off, he did so, zig zagging through the course, determined that no one would stop him. Approaching the wall of water, Louca took a big breath in, not hesitating even a little. The wall pounded down on him, and he became disorientated. Letting out the breath, he kept pushing through what he thought was the wall, straight to the flag, but alas, his foot soon hit air, and he slid right off the edge, once more entering the water. Popping up, he swung his head around to get his hair out of his eyes.

Grumbling, he began to swim back to home base, frustrated that he hadn't been able to get the flag and unsure if he wanted to go back out, or at least not back at the dang wall. But that would be up to their captain, who he was sure had a brilliant strategy.

Go to the Sapphire Swashbuckler's ship they said. It'll be fun they said. Bubba had to disagree with this most strenuously as he lay on the floor. Bubba had been sent over to the ship as a distraction, he would play the pawn so that they could get another flag. It wasn't ideal but he was a team player and he was always willing to help. Still, it had not gone according to plan by any stretch of the imagination. He wasn't sure how he should really distract. He could try to jump out and sing some show tunes but he wasn't a very good singer. He also thought about going for a scuttle like Doctor Zoidberg but he thought that would just be too ridiculous, they might think he was having a fit. Finally, he decided he would just go in and try to steal a flag, and if it worked, great. If it didn't, the defender's attention would be drawn. Bubba got past the first hurdle but was struck down in his prime (you hate to see it).

Of course, his luck meant that he and Greta would be drawn to the same ship again. Their interactions really weren't going how he would've liked. He wanted her to see him doing something really brave or heroic, or you know, at least not knocked to the floor. To add insult to injury Greta saw his fall from grace and ran over to check on him. She bent down and put a spell on him, the cuts and scrapes on his were now well covered. She asked him if he was alright now, "Tip top" he said with a wink and a smile as she set off again. He decided he would go for the Shawn Michaels-esque kip up to be extra impressive. He was as shocked as anyone to find that he'd actually pulled it off. He hoped Greta had turned back to see.

He beat a tactical retreat off the ship and started planning out his next attempt.

Starlee had gained quite the bit of confidence since the beginning of the game with her successful steal, and she wanted to keep that momentum going. Deciding that her last round's actions were good enough for then, she decided to try going after the Pink Parrots yet again, although this time with a slightly different tactic.

Again, she managed to cross the Pink Parrot's giant obstacle ring with little issue, but now she would have to contend with a defender. Starlee was the first to arrive, so they were fresh. Starlee, feeling quiet adept, would attempt to throw a punch in the girls way. She easily dodged, which meant Starlee would most likely have left an opening for the girl to strike. Realizing this, Starlee quickly dodged, grabbing a flag as she turned to run. She had managed to get a flag, but she had also almost managed to get hit. Perhaps she should stick with the more stealthy approach.

This thought was reinforced as when she tried to make it through the dummies that surrounded her own ship and team, she managed to get bonked by one someone else had accidentally pushed in her direction. She had a flag, but she had a choice. Should she get more flags and risk the one she has? Or should she head on back to her team, securing one flag for sure? Decisions, decisions.

Florian had felt quite proud after he punched that kid right in the gut. Florian wouldn't admit it, especially with any ladies around, but he could fool around just like the rest of the boys when he wasn't charming the ladies. He decided that with how well that plan had worked, it certainly couldn't fail now, so might as well do the whole thing again.

He would, quite easily make it across the strange wheel that made entrance to the Pink Parrots lair. This time, however, the boy he had punched wasn't there, and they were replaced with a girl. Now this Florian wasn't so sure of. Casting a spell at a girl, sure, but full on punching one? Perhaps not.

More than likely, this is what caused Florian's punch to miss, his arm hesitating as he almost hit her. Instead she dodged, and proceeded to attack him back, Florian managing to get out of the way, stealing not a Pink Parrot flag, but a sapphire flag. Well a flag is a flag is a flag, it will count either way.

He would make his way back to the Coral ship with no issue, seeing that they hadn't made any progress. Florian groaned. Perhaps they would start making real headway next round.

Kamila had failed the obstacle. She was almost over this stupid muggle game. Why was Kamila even doing this? Capture the Jolly Rodger did not have anything in common with things she enjoyed doing--attacking people with spells and bragging about herself. If something different did not happen soon, Kamila would probably leave and find something else to do, something worth her incredibly valuable time.

Kamila's grandma had once to her not to fight battles that she could not win. Kamila was beginning to wonder if this was a battle that she could win or if the Lilac Leviathan were hopeless and only going to crash down in flames. Kamila tried her best to get out of her own head. She was better than this and there was no way she or her team was going to go down without a fight.

It seemed like Kamila's team and another team were tied for last place. Well, that was pretty awful. There is no place worse than last. None. Kamila was definitely going to have to do better, because she did not want to be the one to drag her own team down. Now it was time to make her next move.

Sapphire Swashbucklers

One might've chalked the first flag as luck, but the second? No, Oliver had a certain knack for this. That was unfortunate for the Coral Crossbones who found themselves repeatedly in Oliver's scope. It wasn't anything personal. He just had the most fun hopping across to their ship. With a second flag in hand he leaped from their boat again.

Maybe I could be the first wizard pirate, he thought to himself amusingly.

There was always a time and place one could be absent minded, but in the middle of an intense game of capture of the flag wasn't one on them. Being in the moment wasn't a strong suite of his, and naturally the young badger knew no better. It was hard not to get caught up in the fantasy of living life as a pirate.

A swinging punching bag dressed as a pirate brought him back to reality. The impact knocked him off the plan and sent him downward. He would be lying if he said it didn't sting even just a little bit. The important thing was that he didn't lose the flag he just had managed to steal. It seemed he would face a choice when climbing up, return to base and secure the point, or push his limit and come back with another. Surely the later option would give him a surprise factor, but then he risked scoring zero points.

Well, Pirates always did like to go for the gold.
