Why do you want to be a mentor? When I first joined hio, I had no idea how anything worked. The site being so vast, and especially as the aesthetic change in December happening right after I joined, I wasn't even sure where to start. After being directed to the mentorship program, though, the confusion I had quickly dissipated as I was steadily and efficiently guided through all the steps to get started. Until today, I will always value the patience and helpfulness of my amazing mentor, and now that I am more tenured myself, I would like to do as was done for me.

Why do you want to be a mentor? It is because when I first joined this site, I don't even know how it work, I first thought it's just like a video game site where you experience being a Hogwarts student, so I was so confused seeing what we call them rp and threads now. Let's ignore the part where I don't even know what a rp is So I just sat there, scrolling on my phone, looking at the different forums and literally went back to the games room cuz that's the only forum I actually know how it works. So, I don't really want any of the new users to be like me - wasting time and their brain cells just to figure out how the whole site work so I want to teach them, let them get used to this site and enjoy their hogwarts life here.

I remember how nervous I was to make any kind of post when I first started - I was so adamant about reading every rule and every piece of lore before I even allowed myself to roleplay. I think I can help people ease into the site more easily, guide them in forming an in-depth character, and help them feel confident while doing it. I know I can help make new students feel comfortable by having a friendly face around who has experienced all of the learning steps themselves

Why do you want to be a mentor? I think the mentorship program is a really important part of a new user's experience if they participate in it. Now that i've been on Hio for a few years, i'd love to be one of the friendly faces to mentor those new users and help them find their way around! Site was super confusing to me at first, and I was always super grateful that I had an amazing mentor. I think it's a wonderful experience for both the mentee and the mentor to connect with each other and with the community

I've been wanting to get a staff position for a long time, and I notice that all the applications ask if I've been a mentor, so I figured it would be good if I gained some experience. Why do you want to be a mentor? The reason I want to be a mentor is that I have been on this site before. And after my deactivation, there was more I knew about the site I didn't even know I knew. Many new first years had been asking for help. And I found myself being able to answer those questions. So I feel like I would be able to help mentees on the site

Why do you want to be a mentor? It was a bit hard to navigate through the site when I first joined. I didn't know where I should start. Many people helped me, and I even signed up for the mentorship program! It was really nice to know that I had someone who would reply to me and answer all my questions without ignoring me or thinking I'm an idiot for not knowing basic things on this site. Therefore, because I love this site so much and I really want our community to grow, I thought it'd be a good idea to offer help to the mentees.
