It seemed her call for help to retrieve the owls went unnoticed, as well as her question if anyone had lost an owl companion. She sighed as she wrapped up her bleeding hands, a bloodied handprint now on her top. 'Looks like I won't be wearing this shirt ever again...' she thought, happy that is wasn't one of her favorite shirts, but she still liked it at least.
After successfully bandaging her hands, she looked up at where the two birds were trapped. Neither of them looked very happy. 'Well... looks like it's up to me...' she thought, worried about if she could retrieve the birds safely. She watched as the Barn Owl bit the bars of it's cage, looking like it was desperate to be released. She wasn't sure if it could fly, but she would do what she could. The owner of the other bird had to be around somewhere anyway and, even if they weren't she was going to get them both out. Borvo was also knawing at his cage, but he seemed less exuberant, perhaps exhausted from the tumble.
She pulled her wand out of her pocket and said, as confidently as she could muster, "Wingardium Leviosa!" casting it at the Barn Owl's cage Flutters, so she could lift his cage from the wreckage and lower it down to her. She hoped that her spell casting was good for once. Otherwise, she would be ready to catch the owl if he fell.
Action: Casting Wingardium Leviosa on Flutter's cage to get him out from the compartment above.

The badnage popped into view and successfully furled around her arm cutting off any more stray blood that might be leaking out. Thank Merlin, that particular worry was taken care of but it didn't exactly help her with the ungodly amount that followed as an aftereffect due to having been flung from a pain. She waved off Scarlett's hasty apology, it wasn't her fault. Wait, where she had come from? "You wouldn't have happened to seen a brown barn owl anywhere, have ya?" Poor Flutters, he had to be somehwere in all this chaos, didn't he? Still. she had more pressing matters to attend to like Marshal, the boy had an entire train dropped on him and yet here she was moping about because of a few cuts and bruises. Elena Jangleton was a Gryffindor and that in itself should speak volumes.
Eyes glancing toward the crippled body and the boy who had been attending to Jackson, her eyes widened as she watched him crumple too blinking a few times. Why were they all falling like puppets? She had to get control of the situation and fast. "Let's try to fix them up." The girl said nodding towards the unconcious Marshal and the other Gryffindor who happened to be on fire. Oh, this was not good. With what was a massive amount of effort and perhaps a bit of motivation thrown in there, the Gryffindor stumbled to her feet making her way through the deep snow until finding herself crouching next to the boy who had in someway managed to light himself alight. Right, she needed to put that out and fast or he would be in a whole more pain as far as she was concerned.
Thankfully in all the mess, her Gryffindor robes torn as they were had remained intact and that meant the crimson tie she was wearing too. "Just stay still, you'll be fine." Elena wold say to Jackson, one hand reaching up to shake her tie loose of her uniform so that now it was nothing more than a loose dangling piece of fabric. Stretching it out, she would use the fabric to pat at the flames hoping the cloth was thick enough to take in the heat of the flames and at least extinguish them for the time being. It was an unorthdox method to say the very least but there wasn't exactly much she could do with the lack of water as it was.
Action: Using her tie as a piece of cloth to attempt to extinguish Jackson's flames

Xxxxx xx XxxxxFalling wasn’t a new sensation to him; indeed, he had fallen quite often both during his youth and during his time on the Quidditch team, be it from trees, climbing rocks, or recently, from brooms after being hit by people or by bludgers. He had already been blatched once in this season, having been caught by one of his teammates... but truth be told, there was a sensation of being weightless during the fall that caused the boy’s breath to catch in his throat as giddy excitement welled up and out of him. He wasn’t an adrenaline junkie; far from it. He just liked to feel like he was free from the earth... perhaps long enough to feel weightless before hitting the ground like a bird with shattered glass wings.
But in his dreams? He may not have had wings, but he could certainly fly. Flying into clouds in order to kiss the setting sun, migrating with several gulls or geese, chattering with starlings and wheeling with eagles. Divebombing with falcons at Mach speed, feeling the freezing wind whip by him effortlessly; he was an arrow flying straight and true.
This time was different. There was no excitement in the flying. This was not controlled, at least not by him.
This was truly falling. His wings had been clipped, leaving Icarus to fall into darkness, a pitch world so dark that one could not see where any tree rose, nor where hills fell. A pure, matte black, so dark that inscrutable details were invisible to even the keenly trained eye.
He kept thinking that he would hit the ground, kept thinking that as soon as he hit the pitch black earth his body would break, but instead of striking ground, he kept falling through it so that the once bleached white sky became slate, then grey, then onyx, and finally the same shade of black as the rest of the world he had seen while falling. There was no wind buffering him below, and his arms were numbly held just above his body, gravity having its way with Icarus as eyes slowly blinked open and closed, slow breathing which echoed in his ears along with an incessant heartbeat. The only sign of life in the wasteland.
And suddenly, he stopped.
There was no soft or gentle landing, nor was there a cacophonous thud as he was expecting. Then again, he didn’t know if he would have even made a sound in the dead silence. All of a sudden, he was laying down on coarse black ground, blades of black pseudo-grass prickling the palms of his hands and back, the nape of his neck, his bare feet. A heartbeat. His heartbeat.
In honesty, he didn’t want to move. He didn’t think that he could move. He felt paralyzed from the neck down, subjected to the confusing descent that he had experienced. So it seemed as if his body was moving by itself: his hands curling into the soft ground as he rolled onto his stomach; coughing quietly in response to a pain on his sternum, as if he had been struck there by something; dragging himself to his knees, and then to one knee, and finally, to his feet; a staggering step for balance, then another.
The air was... mostly lukewarm; though a biting chill would sometimes cause his elfin ears to fold down protectively as he let out a shiver. He couldn’t make anything out in the world around him, the blackness of the world around him confounding his eyes and making it impossible to perceive depth reliably. There was only a small glimmer of silver a ways away from him, something so bluntly different from the expressionless landscape all about him, and at a distance that he could not discern because of his disoriented mind.
Somehow, not knowing how much time had passed or how many steps he had taken, he drew close enough to see it— the thing that had attracted his attention, that was— and discovered that it was a smooth, placid surface, perhaps a pool, silver in hue, which bore not a ripple nor a wave. Pristine, a foil against the world. When he drew close enough, he saw another individual drawing close themselves; within the pool’s confines.
Green eyes, wild brown hair, a curious, young face who looked back at him. It looked shocked for a second, as if it hadn’t expected him to suddenly appear, opening its mouth as if to speak, though no words penetrated the thick air. He looked back at the boy in the pool, the boy who was just as confused and surprised as he was. There was still a heartbeat, but now there were two; an awkward symphony of a triplet followed by a quarter note. Then silence for a second before the triplet returned.
Ba-da-ba dum... Ba-da-ba dum...
Who was this? Was this his reflection? If it was, then why was it moving of its own accord, and why were its features slowly changing; the brown hair lengthening and fading to blonde and back again, the eyes briefly darkening to hazel and returning to merry green.
“You’re not supposed to be here.” It finally mused aloud, but its voice didn’t match the image of a young boy, even if a young boy’s voice was supposed to be higher pitched.

The coat was too small for sure, but it would hopefully keep him warm. The bleeding only worried her. Would he bleed out? Would Vladimir die here? Was he already dying? She was bleeding as well, she still felt it run down on the side of her face, but it was already drying. With slow movements she took off the thin sweater she was wearing on top of her t-shirt and attempted to cut off the seam. "Diffindo." Two stripes of fabric she would attempt to cut off, tie one around Vladimirs wounds and one around her own, before she put the remains of her sweater back on. Now she would be the one getting cold soon...
Opeila didn't hear the owl arrive- of course not, owls were silent when they flew. At least she heard that somewhere. Suddenly the white bird was next to her. Opeila recognized it quickly. "Crystal." She remembered Gris calling her owl by that name the other day in the owlery. "Crystal, where is Gris?" She felt like she was sleepwalking, as if this all was some horrific dream she would soon wake up from. Hopefully.
Gris arrived soon after her owl, Opeila heard her calling her name. "He is alive.", was all she said, very calmly. "He is alive." Gris would be greeted by a weird image. Vladimir wearing a coat, that was obviously to small for him, and both him and Opeila (possibly, depending on her success) had stripes of fabric tied around their wounds.
The little Slytherin looked almost peaceful now. She looked at the snow that was now sprinkled red and black almost fascinated, as if she had not realized really, in what situation they were in.
Action: Attempting to bandage Vlad and herself.

Grunts and gasping breaths left Raine as she did her best to drag the boy she had wrapped up through the snow and back toward the train. Was the train safe? Hell if she knew, but she did know that sitting or laying out in the snow was worse than being near a broken down train car. But damn it all if the kid wasn't heavy. She was a duelist! She didn't need much upper body strength. But she couldn't just leave him there in the snow. He would freeze to death. And she realized with dread that there were many others out there in the snow, hurt or unconcious, along with this AJ kid. She wouldn't be able to drag them all back.
And then...the thought clicked in her head and she smacked herself mentally.
"Are you a witch or not, Raine Sage?" she chided herself as she took out her wand and pointed it at the prone body before her. "Wingardium Leviosa" she would cast the spell at the boy and if it connected successfully, she would trudge through the snow, levitating the kid's body behind her and back into the safety, or semi safety, of broken train car. Once that was completed or she at least managed to secure the kid to a compartment, she would locate someone's owl and write to her Head of House. She couldn't be sure if anyone had heeded or even heard her advise the first time she had mentioned writing to the teachers at the school. But she definitely wasn't going to wait around for someone else to do the job anymore.
Another thought passed through the teen's head. Who were those idiot men and where did they disappear to? One minute they were there, then the train chaos happened and then they all disappeared. And what about that shadow she had seen passing over the train earlier? Were things about to get much worse for everyone?

Everything was still nestling in. That was why she hadn't much of a reaction to much of anything that happened. She wasn't numb to the world just yet, despite her lack of an expression on her surface. It was all so quick. Time hadn't slowed like in the movies- or like it had in the past. Xailah never got the time to think or reflect once that explosion was triggered. She wasn't yet aware that there had been an explosion- despite meeting it head on. As Xailah watched Meenauh bandage her bleeding hands, she would notice a small blob of movement coming from a compartment. Likely someone's pet, or... a someone. She wouldn't pay much mind to it. Once Xailah made sure that Meenauh had taken care of herself- not that Meenauh needed the extra coddling- she would begin to explore what was left of the trains innards. "I'll be right back."
Cloth-wrapped fingers, skimmed across the hanging doors, and splintered wo0d of the walls. A side-eye was sent towards the gaping hole in one end of the train; giving to view the chilly mouth of a lingering winter. Xailah would find someone nearby- two people actually. A girl, and a boy. She knew the boy. Not well- just well enough to know that he was the kings fool. Xailah could not help the boy. But she could help the girl, who was desperately trying to tend to him. It was a pathetic sight, truly. Yet, an endearing one all the same. The girl who was bent over the boy, smelt of iron- blood that was beginning to dry, and congeal. It was an incredibly faint scent, and Xailah wasn't entirely sure if it came from the girl, or someone else. But it was there. The young metamorph took a knee beside the girl, setting Schrödinger down temporarily.
Little would be said. "You're bleeding." The obvious would be whispered. "May I see?" Permission would be asked, but it was not necessarily needed. Xailah was no healer- a caretaker, protector, and occasional destroyer, but certainly no healer. Yet, the Ferula cast upon the girl with the teal streak in her hair, would prove to be very successful. It didn't matter if the girl refused the help, or if she tried to avoid it, the cub would get the healing that she needed. And that was it. Xailah would stand, and continue onward in her usual gracefully distant, and quaint way; with Schrödinger rolling along at her heels.
Glass, and wood splinters crunched beneath the metamorphs weight. She absentmindedly stooped, to pick up a shard. Her trek towards the exit would be put on pause. Delaying exits seemed to be a frequent theme today. A child, one that seemed incredibly familiar, would approach her. Xailah turned to face a young lion, that possessed a mop of blue hair for a mane. Crusted drool- an obvious remnant of sleep, took to one side of their face. They asked what happened, their tone touched with panic. What happened...? That was the question that needed to be asked. That was what Xailah needed to hear. She didn't have an immediate answer to the Azul-clad cub, because quite frankly she didn't have much of an idea of what exactly happened. The blue lions question pushed the older lioness into a brief state of pondering.
Now wasn't the time nor place for thinking, but the prefect desperately needed to think. "Sssome men in funny hats got into our car, and declared a heist." She said finally. Was it necessary to start from the beginning? Not really. But hopefully it would allow herself, and Blue Cub, to better understand what happened. "They were trying to take wands. We didn't like that, so we fought back." That was really all that Xailah understood. The events following the heist were a tangled mess. "And then-" She looked around, once again eyeing the large hole in the train. A dainty finger rose, pointing to the space. "The train blew up." Her arms floated and fell to her side, as if to say: thats it. That wasn't exactly it, but the cub didn't need the specifics.
Pushing past the young wix, Xailah would say one last thing before slipping into the vast winterlands that lay beyond the trains metal carcass. "Keep your wand close. Don't stray too far from the car, if you decide to leave. The men are gone now- or appear to be at the very least. But that doesn't mean anything." A shrug. Xailah would spy Meenauh from afar. She couldn't exactly tell what the other girl was doing. Undoubtedly something explosive brilliant. "However, if you ssstay inside, I would recommend taking cover." Whatever that was supposed to mean.

Light really was a welcome sight. With his wand held high he illuminated a decent amount of the once dark exterior. Hopefully it would do others just as much good as it would do the caster. Who's kidding, if it was helping Galton out, it was helping everyone else out. The boy was going to be some sort of a savior in the situation, right? Holding a small light over his head was really what would benefit the group of bleeding and bruised students. Not something like medical care, or trying to alert teachers, that was a silly idea when you could barely even see.
And so, with his mind weirdly fixated on becoming a street lamp, Galton would peer out into the emptiness. He would try to find something more worthy of his attention than a shiny light... Or to stall. He need to process the events, what he should do, what the valiant hero should be doing. And so he peering into the darkness around. Searching for friend or foe.
To fill the awkward silence coming from himself, he would call out again. "HEY! Everyone! Light good! Good light!" Ah, a true hero always knows what to say. He hoped that someone would atleast be drawn over, like Hugh. Or umm... Yeah, yeah, Hugh was about the only person Galton could nail down seeing ejected from the train. But maybe there were more.
Action: Search the newly lesser darkness for things.

Scarlett assessed the situation around them - two boys, mortally injured or on fire, and three girls including her, in decent shape except from a few cuts and bruises. But they were minor injuries, though some of the slashes felt like hell. Scarlett really didn't understand how everyone had such good pain tolerance. Gashes hurt. She also took in the fact that the girls had escaped relatively unharmed whilst the boys were...um, stuck in their not-so-pleasant situation. It definitely said something about how idiotic some boys were, but now wasn't the time to be preaching about feminism.
"I don't think so?" said Scarlett, in response to Elena's question about the owl. "There was so much going on when the train went cray-cray...I'm assuming it was your pet?"
Scarlett nodded at Elena's next comment, wincing a bit when Elena tried to stop the flames with cloth. "There is - um - a spell for this," said Scarlett, trying not to sound obnoxious. She cast a glance at Marshal, bloodied, broken, bruised, all of the bad things. He seemed to be faintly conscious but Scarlett didn't know any spell that could fix him up, except Ferula. But that was a third-year spell and she didn't have much confidence in that yet. Maybe after...
If they got the other boy to stop burning, then they would turn their sights onto doing something to help Marshal. Scarlett almost found herself hoping the poor guy would pass out - the pain seemed unbearable for someone like her, who found little cuts hurt quite a bit.
"Extinguo," Scarlett quickly attempted to cast the spell, before looking back at the other girl, the brunette first-year and calling out, "Hey, um, what's your name? And do you have any ideas on what to do?"

Before going after her owl, she noticed that Alan finally found his cat, he asked her to help him a bit to get out of the compartment, "Of course! Take my hand.", Griseldis would reach out her hand for Alan to hold and would try her best to pull him up despite still having some pain in her stomach. But helping a friend is more important than that. Once they're outside, she would place a hand on Alan's shoulder and tell him that her owl seemed to find Opeila and the others. She wasn't sure if Alan would follow her to meet them or not.Interacting with @Opeila Winters @Alan Vanes

Walking on snow certainly couldn't help her move faster towards Opeila, so it took a while for her to arrive. Crystal flapped her wings to greet her master. Griseldis was relieved to see that Opeila was alive, but when she looked at the young Slytherin girl closely, her pale face didn't look fine at all and then at the taller boy who was lying in front of her wearing a coat that was obviously too small for his body size. Opeila assured her that the boy was alive. However, it didn't make anything ok and anxiety slowly crept up on her. Griseldis became alarmed the moment she saw some red-stained snow beneath them which implied that they were both injured. "Oh my Merlin, You two are bleeding!" Her first instinct was to find something to help stop the bleeding before Opeila would pass out just like that poor Ravenclaw boy. But Opeila already was trying to bandage her own injury and Athanatos's injury as well.
Griseldis couldn't be sure if he had any internal injuries, so she had to be careful when handling his body. Griseldis reached out her hand to have her fingers touch his cheeks, she frowned when it felt like ice. Her grandfather taught her about first aid before and an unconscious person couldn't stay cold for too long because otherwise, their life would be in danger. Suddenly, she remembered something important, they need to inform the Professors at Hogwarts and ask them for help as soon as possible! Putting her hands into both of her robe pockets searching for anything. She was able to find a tiny wooden pencil and a small piece of paper. She had this habit to always bring these items with her whenever she went to travel just in case she needed to write something important. Griseldis wrote the following on the paper:
Due to the small size of the paper, Griseldis could only write this much. "Crystal, come here and take this.", she lifted her shoulder up for her owl to fly on her. "Hoo...hoo...", the arctic owl knew her master needed her to send a certain letter and bit the scrolled paper with her beak when it was given to her. "Please fly safely and bring the Professors to find us, Crystal.", Griseldis wished Crystal a safe journey to Hogwarts then watched her owl turned around and flew up into the sky.Professor Pendrast,
Students got attacked by cowboys on the Hogwarts Express. The car exploded and rolled off from the rails. There are a few with injuries and still in danger. We need help! My owl can guide you the way to us!!
Griseldis Edelhardt
Focusing back to Opeila and Athanatos, she must tell her that they couldn't continue to stay in the area and needed to find a better place to rest, "Opeila, do you still have the strength to walk? We can't let an unconscious person out in the cold like this. We need to go find a tree for him to lean on. I can try to carry him.", Griseldis said in a concerned tone and knelt down beside Athanatos. Sliding her left arm underneath his back and her right hand placed on his stomach so she could support his body to be pushed up into a sitting position carefully and slowly. "Can you help me support him to stand up a bit when I turn around? Then try to place him on my back so I could try to carry him like a backpack."

There was a lot of luggage that had come off of Piérre. Katrina didn’t want to think about what would have happened if her dueling teammate hadn’t seen him. Her and Piérre went back a while. He had saved her life when the ice covering the Great Lake had cracked last winter. It seemed she now had the opportunity to repay the favor. If only it could have happened another way. Another time. Another place. Somewhere with help readily available and with no one else that could use Katrina’s aid. Every second that slipped by Katrina knew she could be casting Ferula on a broken leg to splint it or Reparifors on the flames that she knew were there from the hint of smoke in the air. No. Piérre needed help first.
Katrina closed her eyes, imagining the blue light. Her eyes blinked open to see the blue circle encasing his unconscious body.. Piérre didn’t wake. Of course he didn’t. Reparifors wasn’t going to wake him up. The luggage was brute force, not a magical ailment. Katrina nearly smacked herself. A waste of time. She was wasting time.
Katrina slumped over for a moment, dearly hoping Calanthe’s eyes weren’t on her. Watching her be defeated. On the dueling pedestal Katrina could compose herself. Project herself as confidant and dangerous. But it was starting to be to much now. Everything was falling apart. Everyone needed her help, but she had no help to give. Katrina was trying to pull herself together but her thoughts were being tugged in every which way and she was emotionally and physically strained. How had she thought that she would be safe riding home from a poorly ended winter break?
She was loosing. Loosing a friend. Loosing her confidence. Loosing herself. It was the point at which most people would cry. Break down. But Katrina felt the emotions suck right out of her. It would have been healthier to cry. Katrina noticed someone kneel down beside her, her eyes still on Piérre’s unmoving body. A whisper, a statement really, Katrina was bleeding. Katrina didn’t remember bleeding, she didn’t know where, maybe it wasn’t her but Cal? Katrina turned, glancing up a bit to see a girl who Katrina didn’t remember her name. They had met, perhaps at a SWAG club game, or a ball, or an errand, but not enough words were exchanged that Katrina remembered her name. Katrina’s gaze was hollow now, with no more emotions to give. A wand was tapped against her chin, her jaw area, clean white bandages wrapped snugly around it. Katrina gingerly touched her chin, fingers tracing a sticky wet something down her neck. The girl was gone by the time Katrina looked back, possibly to thank.
When Katrina’s hand came back, she saw bright red on it. Flashes of memories. The mosp stings. The cut on Anastasia’s arm in the shack. The crimson color on Liam’s leg. The red from an owl talon. Katrina saw her hand shaking, she pushed it down into her lap. Suddenly, the train car started to spin, swaying from side to side dangerously. Katrina knew it was in her head, but she still felt nauseous. Katrina forced her breaths to stay even and controlled, although they were trying to spasm. For a moment, Katrina could see herself, kneeling on the floor. She was looking down at herself, somehow. Trembling oh so slightly. Then she blinked and she was back.
“Calanthe?” Katrina’s voice was slower than usual, “I think I need to… have a moment? I’ll be right back” Katrina slowly got to her feet, pressing her trembling hands together tightly and pressing them against her forehead. She turned away from Piérre and Calanthe and took a few steps away. She screwed her eyes shut, forcing herself to take a deep breath. For the first moment, all she saw were the memories of the cowboys and walking past her peers, things that happened only moments ago, she acknowledged the thoughts as they passed, trying her hardest to let them go. Then her thoughts stilled. The whole ordeal took only a moment, thirty seconds at the most, but she knew if she didn’t process anything she was just going to collapse sooner.
Katrina pivoted on her heels and turned back to Cal and Piérre. “Okay, we need to get Piérre somewhere safer. At first I was thinking outside, but it’s probably too cold. If we can push him away from the fallen luggage to somewhere safer then I think that will be better. If we can get him on his side that will be best, keep airway from getting clogged and will be better when he wakes up,” Katrina looked at Cal as she talked, she knew if she dwelled on Piérre's unconscious face she wouldn't be able to stay composed.
“Do you- Do you think you can stay by his side? I know some first aid and Ferula and there is a lot of use for that right now. I’ll stay in earshot so you can call if you need me or if he wakes up. Is that okay?” Katrina would gently push Piérre away from the luggage to somewhere hopefully safer, away from any windows or broken glass but out of the way of the walkway with students (hopefully with Calanthe’s help?). Before righting herself and searching for someone with a need (so long as Calanthe doesn’t prevent her or ask her to stay).
TLTR; Katrina has her bleeding bandaged by Xailah, takes a moment to process some and not have a mental breakdown, attempts to push Piérre to a safer spot, looks for anyone she can help with her epic magical powers of healing

Action: Casually pushes aside mental breakdown for later as one does, attempts to push Piérre's unconscious body to a safer spot, looks for the next person to help so long as Cal doesn't ask her to stay
Abilities: Perfectionist [Crit-Fail Zone reduced by 1] | Healing Sage [+25% on all magical healing] | Charmer [-1 acc for all opponents]
Stats: Stamina 9 | Evasion 8 | Strength 3 | Wisdom 11 | Arcane Power 9 | Accuracy 5
Interacting With: @Piérre Marchonné @Calanthe Choi and @Xailah Alptraum
Mentioning: Everyone I mentioned earlier and basically everyone else in the thread too.
Kind of Open to Interactions: Please feel free to do/say anything to make Kat feel more guilty (call out to her even though she can't help, you know, whatever really) I'm planning an even more epic breakdown later so anything to add to that is appreciated![]()
