Just adding to this as I’m part of the committee, you can attend both but not at the same time as your character cannot be in two places at once.
Example: Meiyu is currently in the main ball, so she cannot post in the garden as she literally cannot be in two places at once. Should she wish to leave, action must be stated she is leaving the main all for the garden and then can begin posting in the garden.
