@Ginger Crowdy You need to upload it to an image hosting site like imgur, then get the direct link to the image (I get it by right clicking on the image and selecting "Copy Image Location"), and then you can post it by using the tags.
So if I want to post this picture, I copy the image location and put it in the image tags like
this, and then it will show up in my post like this:

The link you used is not a direct image link! You need the url that leads only to the picture, not to imgur itself. https://i.imgur.com/OuyyTpV.jpg is the link you want, can you see the difference when you open it compared to yours?
