I'm writing a novel ooc and I have no idea how long it should be

To be considered a novel it must be 50k words, anything under that is a novella. That means about 165-200 book size pages and 100-125 full size pages!

Funny we’re talking about this, in the past 4 days I’ve written 10k on my own novel and I keep having to resist the urge to edit or delete scenes

It’s mainly centered around the quote ‘Villains are made, not born’ but essentially it’s a dystopian society where a rebellion rises up, the main character gets too involved and makes bad choices in the name of recovering her family. I think it’s going to be heavily rewritten once I write the first draft, but that’s what first drafts are for
