OOC Potions Q&A
Hello Professor, everyone,

I am sorry if this has already been asked somewhere, I am still quite new to Hogwarts.io.

If I understand correctly, the “?” mark in my homework / report card means, next lessons open after completing the one marked with “?” first.
But why do all other “?” marks shake, except the one for the potions class ?

Also, I understand teachers have quite busy life OOC, but how long does it usually take to have your homework graded?

Thank you.

Welcome to hogwarts.io @Verner Llf!
So there are four different symbols for homework.

The shaking "!" is a necessary class to access the ones coming after.

The not shaking "!" simply means, that you opened the lesson before, by accident maybe or read it.

The "?" means it's waiting to be graded but was submitted to a professor.

The "-" means that it is an optional class that you don't need to finish before doing the others.

When the lesson is done and graded, it will show your grade.

The time a professor needs for grading is individual, but it shouldn't take longer than 2 weeks normally, I think.

Does this answer your question?

What is a Potion exactly? How does it have magical effects? Is there a potion of death even?

To access the assignments, you have to be on the site for longer than 10 days, as well as made 20 posts. Those are all the requirements. Now that you have made 20 posts, you should be able to see the "Lectures" tab at the top of the page.

Are we allowed to make grammar mistakes IC? Not so much as to make it unreadable of course, but my character is a first year and as such her grammar won't be perfect. Obviously it's supposed to be anonymous but all people who do the first year homework will be first years anyway so it doesn't particularly matter

Hi!
The homework system is OOC. Meaning, if you are a non-native speaker with not so perfect grammar- such as myself- I would suggest you just inform the prof in a note at the top. Most professors will likely be less strict with your writing then.
