Quidditch Ravenclaw vs Hufflepuff - Spring 2025

“Thanks, Sage!” Daphne exclaimed as she was directed towards the snitch with an alley oop, a determined look on her face despite the boos. As she headed towards the snitch she was bludgered, wincing in pain but still managing to hold on as she steadied her broom and refocused on her goal.

Abilities: Alluring: A Part-Veela is incredibly beautiful, the magic creates an "entranced" effect, wherein those that would be an attraction where they lose sight of their surroundings and focus more than necessary on the Part-Veela's movements or appearance. Viewers are also prone to experiencing thoughts of a strong desire to impress or be with the Part-Veela in question, some are strongly attracted romantically.

Prodigal DADA Learner: Able to learn Defense Against the Dark Arts 1 year ahead of their actual school year. You may only choose a spell taught in DADA classes. At end game they learn 1 restricted spell. This can also serve as an alternative means to learning spells besides earning them through DADA class.

Scream: The scream can be disorienting (-1 accuracy and -1 evasion), requiring a full action to perform but does not require a wand. This can stack indefinitely and persist until the end of the encounter. This scream can target a single user or it can target up to five users (as an AOE attack). Alternatively, this spell can be used to temporarily deafen an opponent. So rather than cause the player to become disoriented, they would become deafened (unable to hear) for the next 5 rounds.

Showing off with the quaffle was an absolute blast for Lavinia. Typically she didn’t get an opportunity to score this much in a match and she was loving it! Lavinia loved snatching the quaffle out of the air, flying over to the hoops, and then throwing the quaffle so fast any defender didn’t stand a chance. Being able to show the crowd and all of Hogwarts how good of a chaser she was, was genuinely so fun. At this rate she would have professional teams begging for her to join them.

Even though Lavinia had scored a ton, the job was not done yet. They needed to score enough to block the potential of a Hufflepuff win with the snitch. Since Aly hadn't caught the snitch yet, Lavinia knew what needed to be done to ensure a match victory and a house cup victory.

Quinn frowned as she finally finished her penalty lap. It had taken wayyy to long to fly around a pitch and she was ready to get back into the game! She readied herself for the next round and smiled, quidditch was her favorite game after all and even a penalty lap couldn’t take that from her.

The Bench

Did the young eagles know how to do anything other than boo? What had happened to good sportsmanship? To compassionately cheering others on despite competing interests?

Well, whatever it was that had eroded good sportsmanship in Hogwarts's youths, it had certainly failed to erode the strength of their voices. Avis and Ophelia booed loudly at Daphne—hadn't the poor girl been through enough?

Hufflepuff was beginning to take notice that playing nice wasn't always worth it. Mamori took after the Ravenclaws in booing at Lavinia, while Landon and Callum continued in the pursuit of kindness and simply cheered for Daphne. Hopefully, hearing the loud excitement of her peers would alleviate any worries caused by the booing.

The Quaffle

The Quaffle would be contested by one Camilla Carter and one Winnie Harper, the two of whom would be followed by one Eugenia Karageorgiadi, who was... well, not exactly Shimmying. But not trying to score, either. It was a bit strange.

'OH, wow! Carter takes it right out from under Harper! But, but... the hell was that? Wow, didn't even score. And this is what the youths of Hogwarts are being taught?'

Then, Camilla fumbled the Quaffle; it looked as it must have landed roughly on her finger. 'And she seems to have hurt herself. Hm.'

The rather unkind commentary would be drowned out by the dinging of the scoreboard as Ravenclaw continued to rack up points. During the midst of that, though, it seemed as if Atlas had had enough, and she shot at the unguarded Ravenclaw hoops. 'Finally, Harper has some competition! Very nice shot from Reid...'

Winnie once again managed to get the Quaffle past Atlas. 'And that is 10 more points to Ravenclaw. We've got some quite impressive numbers up on the scoreboard; I'd take a look if I were you!'

The Snitch

Aly Salinger avoided the Snitch, leaving a prime opportunity for Daphne Sapphirus to attempt to catch the slippery thing. However, she did it in a very unconventional manner.

'What the HELL is she—oh by Merlin's hairy feet, Sapphirus has caught the Snitch!'

But she had leapt off of her broom and was now falling through the air.

'Er, Hufflepuff? Are you just going to let her fall?'

The scoreboard would update to the new score, and as Hufflepuff's numbers rose, quickly and then slowing down at 160, 170, 180, there were excited gasps and titters from members of the audience. Would there be a draw?

Alas, not this time.

'Is the scoreboard stuck?' As Daphne fell, the announcer glanced at her fingers and began to count. '...Nope. At least, I don't think so! That's a mighty close Quaffle win, in case you weren't aware—congrats to Ravenclaw!' It would certainly be a great send-off to star chaser Lavinia Cloven, except... where was she?

The Big, Bad Beaters

'Wow, twice? That's rude, Beckett. Just plain rude. She's literally falling already. Do you like to kick someone while they're down?'

With another crack of the bludger and whack of the bat, Aston sent a strong hit right at Daphne, who had very little chance of withstanding another hit. 'I mean, really, that's just got to be petty.'

She was hit square in the side, which almost certainly knocked her down as she continued to tumble to the ground. 'Well, at least she won't be awake to hit the ground...'

Jess would not get a chance to swoop in and catch Daphne; it would have been of no use.

A bludger swooshed through the air and near Sage, coming at the young Beater with surprising accuracy, but Sage, having just been flying around, was well-aware of her surroundings and managed to dodge well enough.



Aly Salinger was not the only dirty, dirty cheater, but when the object of her and Lavinia's cheating was already out cold, there was not really much cheating to be done. Lavinia and Aly had flown in the same direction, relatively towards one another.

'Oh, maybe they're going to hug? Makes sense. Once again, congratulations to Ravenclaw, and if you see her in the castle after this, make sure you give Lavinia a great send-off!'
