Letter for: @Caradoc Browne

For her fourth letter, Airlia knew exactly who to write. This would be a thank you note for hard work and great leadership.

Her head of house Mr. Caradoc Browne was a kind man and a great adviser to the students in her house. He was always there when you needed him and while Airlia hadn't had too many interactions with the man other than bringing him some flowers once, she knew he would aid her if the need would ever arise.

While she began to write she smiled slightly, glad to give a professor some much needed praise and appreciation. Quite often people would forget to thank their amazing teachers that were like additional parents during their time in school.

Letter for: @Evelyn Moore
Her final letter before she would have to rush to her homework was for a girl she'd met in her first year. This fellow Hufflepuff was something special. So kind and caring. Dedicating so much of her time to those around her.

Evelyn Moore and Airlia had just clicked and become friends straight away. They shared a love for flowers and making others smile and while Airlia hadn't seen Evelyn in a while the girl was in her thoughts every so often.

She really wished to rekindle their friendship, but the girl was nowhere to be found.

And with her bright smile and happy laughter in mind Airlia's quill touched the parchment and began scribbling down words in a delicate cursive.

More than a few times Airlia stopped to think of something to scribble down. Truth be told most letters took time for her. She didn't know what to say or how serious to be. So she always ended up with letters that are quite bland. But she felt like she did okay with this one.

Mentions @Cecily Quinn

𝓐fter the heavy topics she touched on during her first two letters, Amadea was determined to make the next one much happier. Hopefully, it would improve her mood by doing so. She listed in her head the possible people she could write to, realizing that she had fallen out of touch with most of her friends from Hogwarts since she'd be gone. The friendly Hufflepuff she had been during her second year was gone, and with it, her friends had disappeared as well. Amadea shook her head, trying to rid herself of the depressing thoughts. She was supposed to be cheering herself up by writing these letters, not making herself more sad. What was wrong? The whole point of this errand was to make someone's day.

Shaking her head, Amadea sighed and picked up her quill again, ready to write.

April 26, 2020
Dear Cecily,
It must be quite odd that I'm writing you a handwritten letter when I see you often around school and I'll probably talk to you sometime before you even receive this. Today is apparently send a letter day, so here I am, sending you a letter!

To be honest, I kind of enjoy snail mail. It feels more personal and you can write as much as you want without being interrupted, which I'm kind of just accustomed to in everyday conversations. Anyway, I hope you're doing well!

On another note, I've been meaning to ask you this but I haven't quite found the time to do so. I was wondering if you'd be interested in helping me revamp the Gobstones club? It was such a fun activity in the past and I would love to be able to work on something like that. Let me know! Have a great day!

Your friend,
Amadea
Taking on another activity might not be the best idea, considering the amount of homework Amadea had piled up in her dorm, but she wanted to do this. Satisfied with her letter to Cecily, she stuck it on top of the growing pile she had created.

Damion was back here after receiving a letter from his best buddy Dylan. He was so happy to hear back from him. He had read the letter and was smiling very happily. He was happy to hear that Dyllie, Dylan's nickname given by Damion, had a younger sister Alys. He was also happy to read that Dyllie had been doing well in school. Damion had so much to tell Dyllie and so much to look forward to when the school wasn't going on. Damii had found himself busy with school work and other co-curricular activities. He still wanted to find time to write to Dyllie and hear from him. Being away from Wales was really hard but Damion was trying his best to write to his parents and his best bud when he got the time. He was still waiting to hear from his parents and Dyllie letter was here.

Damion found himself in the library again. He was somewhat looking forward to this. This time was his way of connecting with his Dyllie and reminiscing about the time he had spent with his bud back at home. He loved that he had that connection with his friend. His best friend.

Taking a paper and a quill Damion sat down in the available seat there. He was going to write letters probably. But first was to his bud before anything else.

Lucia looked around the library, trying to find the fiction section.
But then her eyes landed on a collection of large tables. Students from all houses were crowded around them, writing on pieces of parchment.
A sign was propped against one, and Lucia drew closer in order to read it.
#sendaletterday
Lucia took a few minutes to work out what people were actually doing, then decided she might as well write one.
But who to?
Grudgingly admitting to herself that it was a really nice idea, she made her way through the group of students.
Lucia sat down at one of the tables and picked up a quill and a piece of parchment.
After a few seconds, a thought came into her mind and she grinned slightly, then started to write.

Dear Professor Jensen,
I hope you are well.
I am writing to say that I think this is a wonderful idea and I'm glad that so many people are participating in it.
It's brilliant that we are spreading happiness throughout Hogwarts
Hopefully this (very short) letter brings a smile to your face - it did to me whilst I was writing it.
- A Secret Letter-Writer

Lucia smiled, then grabbed an envelope, folded up the parchment and slid the letter in. As a last-minute thought, she shook some golden glitter inside the envelope - hopefully when the Professor opened it she would be showered in the glitter. Lucia snorted at the thought, then sealed the letter and wrote on it in block letters:
Prof. Hjørdis Jensen
Pushing back her chair, she stood up and made her way to the exit. As she passed the Professor, Lucia flicked the envelope onto the table infront of her, smiled and walked out the library.

Scarlett looked up from her research (she wanted to use her spare time to just try and find out a little more about her dad and why he had left) to see a great cluster of tables and a few separate ones. Students were flocking to this intriguing area with a floating sign saying...

#SendALetterDay

Quite interested now, Scarlett sauntered over to the area where many students were getting comfortable in bean bags, joking with friends at large tables or in thoughtful contemplation by themselves. All of them were writing letters.

"Excuse me," whispered Scarlett to a random witch passing by. She didn't want to be given a firm lecture on quietness in the library. "What's going on?"

"It's amazing!" gushed the young witch, before dropping her voice. "Professor Jensen thought of it. We're writing letters to people to cheer up the mood!"

With that, she bustled away and left Scarlett deciding that she wanted to take part. It would be a nice break from research.

She got comfortable in one of the group tables (what could she say? Scarlett was an extrovert through and through) and picked up a quill and parchment. After some mulling about who to write to, she settled on the troop that would never let her down, the ones that were practically her first real family. Isolated mothers and run-away fathers didn't count for her.
To all of you amazing performers and friends (and, really, family!) at Godric's Troop,

What can I say? Just...thank you so so much for your friendship and how you gave me the family that I never had...

I'm sounding sappy now, aren't I? Okay, sorry, sorry Lainey! I know you don't like that heartfelt drone haha.

Anyway, did you guys miss me? I hope Arabella and Jones are taking care of you all. I'm having so much fun here at Hogwarts! I was sorted into Gryffindor, isn't that cool? I've met a few of the troop here as well, though we really only get together in the holidays, don't we? Fingers crossed we're still the 'sensation of the nation'!

I know, I know, short note...nothing much's happened here but I'm on my way to a big prank dediicated you all! I'll give you full details and then you can use it for yourself. I really do wish it's all going smoothly back home.

Now to mention you all! Lainey and Fiona, make sure little William is staying healthy. The triplets, Bobby, Bilius and Benjamin, take care of yourselves! Don't go jumping (and crashing) into roofs anytime soon. And Georgie, you're nearing Hogwarts age! Almost there...just one more year. Of course, the rest of the troop who are at Hogwarts are, well, here. And finally, hello there Symphony, Caden, Arabella, Jones and (possibly) Aalyah!

Sending hugs,

Your fellow Trooper and sister, Scarlett
Scarlett tucked her note into an envelope, quickly scrawled the address down and made to leave. On the way, she placed the letter on top of the swiftly growing mound on Professor Jensen's pile. Then she left, grinning inexplicably at her family's reaction. No, not her biological family.

The members of Godric's Troop were her real family. (Oh, and, of course, her friends here at Hogwarts)

Damion was back again in the library. It seemed to be his fave place a quiet and peaceful one. He knew this place gave him a feel of being at home surrounded by books and everything. Damion had been doing good in school. He had been regular in his classes and was enjoying his time here. Well that's what he had to tell his mum. He had his mum's letter in hand. He was trying to think what to reply to her. Something very happy and very nice so his mum wouldn't worry about her Eleven year old kid out of his comfort zone.

Damii was very grateful for this opportunity of being here. He was a little scared at time but none the less wanted to see what new adventures were there for him. He smiled at the letter that his mum had sent him and was planning what to write to her. He had been doing so many activities lately that he had busied himself. He had baked difficult cupcakes and sugar cookies. he had made French Knot hearts and a paper unicorn. Maybe his mum might be interested in listening to the activities that her son was doing in the new school.

Time to write another letter. Damii was ready to write a letter to his favorite uncle this time. He had not heard from Uncle Andy in a while now. There was so much to tell him and so much to hear about from him. He smiled as he read the letter in his hand from his Uncle Andy. He was his mother's oldest brother. He was very happy that Uncle Andy was proud of him and was looking forward to Damii spending his time with him when the vacations were going to start. Damii had so many plans of things to do when he was not at school.

He loved his uncle's family. He had not been able to meet them since his last birthday. He was planning to tell about how things were going around here. He wanted to keep the letter short and sweet at the same time. Damii had a lot thinking to do when it came to what he was wanting to write in the letter. His letter was going to be something that he would be looking forward to in the coming times. He had already started looking forward to Dyllie's letters and wanted to know how his best bud was doing in Wales. But right now he had his Uncle Andy's letter.

Serena pondered for some time, drumming her fingers on the table. She had more letters to write but honestly, she was not sure where to even begin or who to write them to. There were just too many people. Besides, she had already written four today. That was probably enough for the time being, to be fair.

Taking her finished letters, she folded each one carefully after waving them around in the air to give them plenty of time to dry. They had been decorated with glitter, after all. She was not ready to fold them all if the glitter glue had not fully dried. Folding them down and stuffing them into envelopes, Serena addressed each envelope to the appropriate recipients. She smiled at the results before reaching down for her bag. Leaning down under the table, Serena opened up her bag and shoved the letters into her satchel.

She blinked as she saw a crumpled letter not too far. Maybe someone had littered and left it there. Shaking her head, she got up and went to pick it up. It was near the Head of Slytherin, but had rolled maybe a metre or so away. Shrugging, she grabbed it and went to dispose of it. But the Hufflepuff was a seeker for a reason. She had pretty decent sight. She had the ability to see the smallest little golden snitch. So given she was holding the crumpled ball in her hand, it was pretty easy for her to spot the names of the two people who rescued her - and the other hufflepuffs - that night. Her curiosity got the better of her and she just shoved it into her bag too, instead of in the bin, before heading out of the library.

The time passed rather quickly as she wrote letters. Over forty students seemed to enter and leave the event, writing their own letters. Honestly, she had not anticipated that many arrivals but it was nice to see people were willing to write letters to their loved ones. Well, for the most part. Some of the letters might not have really been full of love but, they would do.

She took the letter the @Zahid al-Benghazi ibn Masoud had given her with a polite nod. Hearing about Dot always warmed her heart, she had to admit. She would reply to the letter when he was not sitting so close to her. Hjørdis could not help but smile a little as she read the end. Perhaps one day she ought to admit the truth to Zahid. It had been a while since she started this and... Caradoc had never seemed to admit the truth to the History of Magic professor... Maybe she ought to. One day, when it stopped being really fun. Mostly, she just wanted to see when Caradoc snapped at her. So far, he had the patience of a saint. Or maybe he was secretly enjoying all of the reading material that she was sending his way. Hell, did he even know that she was responsible for it? Who knew at this point...

Hjørdis spotted another envelope addressed to her. It had been from @Lucia Fox. She blinked a little, picking it up, not actually knowing where it had come from. Reading it brought a small smile to her face. Someone understood the point of exercise - spreading a little bit of love and happiness throughout the school in bleak times.

Checking the time, she recognised that she had to get back to work. There were, unfortunately, pressing matters to attend to. It was nice that this short break could benefit the students too though. She gathered her belongings together, tidying up.

Once everyone had left, she would return to tidy up the library and return it to its former glory. For now, however, she just took her own things and packed up. Hjørdis frowned a little as she went to pick up the crumpled page. It was not there...? Her eyes widened a little looking around. Did someone throw it away? Perhaps. She saw a house elf that worked in the library not too far. Maybe they went around cleaning. Hmm... Collecting her letters, she neatly tucked them into her handbag and made her exit.
