Homework Blues Closed

Leo watched as a few more people seemed to walk into his direction. He was screaming on the inside. He hadn't expected such an influx of students heading towards his table. The feeling was overwhelming. It made him feel warm inside, though. Despite having been away fora little while, he felt like he was finally being included around school. Deep down, Leo was glad people kept joining his little party. It was keeping him away from homework for the time being. It was just the distraction he needed.

Leo smiled at the growing group of people in front of him, trying to hide his overexcitement. "My name is Vivi. It's a pleasure to meet you." Leo shook her extended hand, smiling brightly. "Hey,'m Bast, by the way. I'm in Gryffindor, too." One of the boys said. He had short, dark brown hair and blue eyes. Leo smiled at Bast warmly, glad he was meeting someone from his house also. "Nice to meet you, Bast." Leo wasn't sure if he'd seen Bast around the common room or not, but he was sure he'd bump into him again. When Bast asked about looking for anything particular in their walk, Leo simply shook his head. "I think we might have to walk somewhere else, especially if more people show up." He noted, chuckling softly to himself.

Leo turned to face his mountain of parchment, scratching the back of his head and trying to work out how he was going to get all of it into his bag again. He heard another set of footsteps behind him and turned around to find yet another student joining their little group. How were they all supposed to walk around the library without drawing attention to themselves, he thought to himself. Leo felt like he was attracting a bunch of Ravenclaws to his table as this boy, who he now knew as Alan, was also a Ravenclaw. Good way to mingle with other houses, he thought to himself, giving Alan a warm smile. He could tell he was very nervous approaching them. "Hey, Alan. Nice to meet you." Leo smiled again, trying to show Alan that he was surrounded by good people. "I'd love some help with my homework. I need a bit of a break now, when I get back would you still like to work together?" He tilted his head to the side as a couple more people walked over to them.

When Jax introduced himself, Leo smiled at him, nodding his head as a gesture of recognition. Then Jax began to ramble a bit. Leo could tell he was nervous as he often rambled when he was nervous. He looked at the other three students in front of him. They all seemed to be in the same position as he was. Looking for someone to call a friend. It seemed Leo's sadness about homework brought people together. "Heya! I've seen you around the dorm, but I never caught your name!" Leo jumped a little when his voice grew. "Uh, Jax, maybe you should-" Leo stopped when an older student approached them.

"Dun' mean to interrupt you lot, but could you keep it down a little? It's pickin' up an' I'm startin' to hear it from over there." Leo smiled apologetically to the older student and nodded, speaking quieter now. "Sorry. We got a bit too excited. We'll keep it down. Sorry again." Leo reassured him, smiling sadly.

Almost no time had passed when a loud thud could be heard. Leo noticed the shelf in front of him had a book missing on one of the middle shelves. He looked towards the bottom of the shelf and noticed the book that must've fallen. He watched a girl from behind the shelf walked over to them, a sorry look in her eyes."I-I'm sorry. I couldn't get the book into the shelf, so I pushed and... right. Sorry." Leo shook his head, still smiling. He'd definitely seen this girl around school before. Her face was somewhat familiar to him. "It's alright." He said softly, trying to keep his voice down so he wouldn't annoy the older student. "No one was hurt, so you're all good."

While this large group of students was just what Leo needed, he couldn't help but feel somewhat sorry for all the other students who were trying to study. He looked around the library before making a quiet shush sound, trying to get everyone's attention. "I'm really please everyone here wanted to hang out. But we're in the library and I feel really bad for everyone else who's trying to study." He spoke in the quietest of voices; it was barely a whisper. Almost completely lost with what to do, Leo looked around the library again. "Okay-" He began, almost whispering again. "I'm extremely pleased there is such a big turn out of people here. I didn't think anyone would noticed my little meltdown." He laughed softly, shaking his head. He thought he sounded ridiculous. "I would love to get to know you all better, I really would. But I need to start on this monster." Leo waved his hand behind him, gesturing to the parchment on the table. "If anyone would like to join me while I study, I have no problem there." He smiled at everyone.

Before he finished, Leo turned to Jax, whispering to him. "We can go for a walk around the courtyard after this." He gestured his head to his homework. "My dad gave me a new set of cards I'm excited about." He smiled. With that, Leo sat in his chair again, turning to face his homework. He wasn't ready to be beaten by this beast. He picked up his quill and the closest piece of parchment and began reading through what looked like his Astronomy homework.

As more people showed up around the Library. Alan never once seeing this many people congregate in the same spot since it was a place to study and relax. The anxiety in the back of the young lad's mind began to creep into Alan's mind once more as the thought of this much people was way too out of hand for the boy to handle. Looking over towards the first-year Jackson he offered a nervous smile swiftly replying to his fellow Ravenclaw, unsure if it was an insult or not as he stuttered slowly "R-R-R-Really? I-I-I don't know if that's for me...you have to be f-f-funny for that." Slowly backing away the first year Leo caught his attention, introducing himself and exchanging pleasantries. Wanting to help his fellow peer, but something was holding the young lad back, as he replied: "S-S-Sure I'd be happy to help you out besides that work l-looks familiar so i-it'll be a cinch". In the back of Alan's mind, his thoughts spoke to the boy "Red Alert, Abandon the Library too many people! Quickly! Run! get his name and run!"

Alan starting to huff when a student popped their head into hush the group down causing the young lad to spout out "S-Sorry sorry sorry...umm". Looking for an excuse to leave this group, looking around to see if his friend was around when she really wasn't. Alan hyperventilating pulled out his pocket watch and uttered "W-Well l-look at the time I-I forgot I had to send an l-l-letter to my Nan w-we should c-continue this soon! u-um if you need help with the homework I-I'm usually by the lake!" He looked towards Leo explicitly as he was saying it

In that instant, Alan went back to his table, grabbing his stuff and pacing quickly out of the Library, saving himself from being nagged at by the librarian. Unbeknownst to Alan during his high levels of anxiety left a notebook if one were to pick it up they'd find small doodles and sketches as well as some rough drafts of potions and ideas within it, his name correctly embroidered on the cover.

Alan Noble as left the thread but whoever grabs the notebook will find that there is a lot of ninja turtles in it fighting crime

Leo watched as slowly slowly, the group began to disappear. He couldn't concentrate with all the whispers around him. He was pleased to see so many people arrive, but this was getting crazy. He could barely hear the boy he now knew as Alan. "S-S-Sure I'd be happy to help you out besides that work l-looks familiar so i-it'll be a cinch" Leo could just hear Alan amongst all the noise and smiled brightly at him. This was perfect. He would finally be able to finish his homework and catch up with the rest of his year. "Thanks, Alan!" Leo whispered, hoping he heard.

His eyes followed the older student who walked back to his seat. Leo was secretly happy he didn't yell at them. His eyes wandered over to Alan, who seemed to look quite uncomfortable. Before Leo could ask if he was alright, Alan quickly muttered something. "W-Well l-look at the time I-I forgot I had to send an l-l-letter to my Nan w-we should c-continue this soon! u-um if you need help with the homework I-I'm usually by the lake!" Leo stood up from his seat, trying to catch Alan before he disappeared. But it was too late. Sighing to himself, Leo let his head fall. He felt like he and Alan had something in common.

With his head down, Leo tilted his head to the side. He noticed something on the floor near where Alan stood. Looking around, he quickly picked up the object; it was a notebook with Alan's name on it. Curiosity getting the best of him, Leo flipped through the notebook. He couldn't help but laugh softly. Holding the book tightly, Leo walked back to his table and put the notebook in his bag. He would return it to Alan the next time they met.
