Opeila just slightly tilted her head. "Neither do I. Didn't expect for a second that you would."
Opeila indeed thought, that this boy was nothing more than a half vampire who was talking a great amount of cryptical nonsense. She was sure that at least thirty percent of the short time they had been talking, he had just as much of a clue what he was talking about, as she had.
He asked if she could smell him, hear his heartbeat. Said, that he only resembled dhampirs because of his skin. Opeila leaned against the window sill, suddenly more relaxed. Those thoughts helped her fear. If she analyzed him like she did it with others, she felt like she was just standing here with a normal student.
"Uh, no, you're a little too far away for that. Yeah, indeed you look different, but that doesn't make you another species or race. I mean, if you deny being a dhampir, what are you then? How do you explain your reaction to my blood, your strong senses and all that."
She didn't even try to understand what he wanted to tell her with his next words.
From what she saw, this boy seemed to think of himself as quite the mysterious person. And slowly she started to find it ridiculous.

He was done. His aura of fear had clearly subsided along with his strong emotions and he felt no need to increase it. What use did he have in scaring the little girl? What use did he have in any of this?
"Reaction to your blood? You mean noticing it, commenting on it? Anyone can smell blood. Even someone like you. And just because your senses are dull as a post doesn't mean that applies to everyone."
What kind of conclusion hopping did she even do? There were students in Hogwarts who moved smoother than he did, who had sharper senses. There were students with amazing martial arts prowess, with unbelievable strength. And him? He was scary. He could burn holes of fear into whoever he glared at, assuming he was trying. He had a fear that you couldn't really get used to, a fear that threatened to freeze you in your tracks.
So he didn't take her seriously, had no reason to. She spat at him because he wasn't trying, she didn't take him seriously because no one ever did. Why would they? To them, he was crazy, disjointed. He was a weird monster on the outskirts of the public awareness. They spread rumors about him, moved away from wherever he was going, avoided him and mocked him when they were reasonably certain he was nowhere to be found.
He had come a long way from the little first year, drowning in a trophy in this very same room. A long, painful way that had nothing to do with a second-rate snake.
"We're done, then?"
He headed for the door, fully aware that she would fade form his memory by the morning.

The boy clearly had some knowledge gaps when it came to human anatomy. Humen could not smell blood.
"No. We can't. People like you can smell blood. Dhampirs can smell blood. Humen can't. And your reaction was what I meant. Have you looked in the mirror once? Or seen you reflection? Your eyes are red." She pointed at the window that was reflecting everything quite clearly.
And she slowly felt quite annoyed by this boy judging her like he did. He had no idea about her and he also suddenly seemed not as scary anymore. This was a skinny boy who looked like he should sleep for at least three days.
Annoyed she wiped the blood of her hand but the cut was still to fresh so new blood came out. She might go to the hospital wing tomorrow and have that looked at, if it wouldn't stop bleeding soon.
"Also maybe you should sleep as well, you don't look too good.", she said, looking at Kaegen's face again.
She would leave as well, but not before he had left. May she be annoyed, she was still aware that this was a dhampir and she was bleeding. Before he was gone, she wouldn't turn her back on him for a second.
