He leaned back, tilting his head back with a huff of a laugh, "how confident," he said stretching a leg as she slowly put her things away, "and cocky." It suited the other somehow, that type of confidence. It had annoyed him at first when they'd had that rough first meeting but part of him knew that it was also his fault for them getting into an argument like that.

"I had thought maybe you'd been avoiding me at first-" he admitted offhandedly.

It had drove him mad before he realized that the girl had actually just left altogether though he kept that to himself half out of embarrassment and half to avoid bringing up whatever had made the Hufflepuff so gloomy looking. Even he had limits when it came to his curiosity and he drew the line at very obviously personal matters.

"-revenge and all that for the library," he shrugged lightly, thinking about how he'd panicked when seeing her, "...you're nicer than I expected you'd be. So, sorry about avoiding you back then." he apologized.

Plucking at the grass on his sleeve he made a move to stand, pulling his bag over his head to rest against his side but ended up stopping when the stone almost fell out of his palm. Remembering the stone he slipped it into his pocket to avoid losing it mind wandering to the 'spell work' Willow had mostly done. This had been...fun? Interesting maybe was a better word for it, kinda like how he felt in potions when learning a new recipe. He may not really believe in any of this the way Willow did but obviously that didn't really matter to either of them if the way she spoke was anything to go by, so maybe he could stand to learn more.

It was just a bonus if she didn't have that sorry excuse of a smile on when he saw her again. Though maybe... He tended to not like sharing his spots but-

"...Not a lot of people come over here," he said giving her a pointed look.

He didn't outright say what he thought but it was obvious enough what he meant. 'Worried' peers wouldn't bug her here, no gossip to deal with. Just the breeze the grass and this tree. Just away enough from the more popular areas so that people didn't come over here.

"so you can come back here if you want, I won't mind."

She rolled her eyes as he called her out on her attitude about the whole thing. “Listen, if there’s anytime to be extra confident it’s when you’re trying to do a spell that’s supposed to bring some extra happiness.” She didn’t know if he necessarily needed it or if he had picked it because it seemed relatively easy with not a lot of opportunity for destruction to come out of it. Either way, she was still happy that he took a chance on her when he definitely didn’t have to.

She stopped packing up for a moment as he continued to speak, eyes fixating on him as he revealed a suspicion of hers that she hadn’t wanted to believe. “I’m not the kind of person to just uh... disappear like that. I promise that’s not a regular habit of mine.” She paused wondering if she should address him avoiding her. “I know I was a lot in the beginning, the whole adjustment has been weird and kind of a lot to deal with in the first semester. I honestly didn’t expect you to want to do this with me still. But thank you for not continuing to avoid me.

She finished packing all of the stuff up as he looked to be heading out. In a weird sort of goodbye he offered a continual welcome to the space, she hadn’t been expecting that at all. Maybe even after the rough start they had they could end up being friends after all. “I’ll definitely take you up on that, and I promise I’ll treat the space well.
