For a heartbeat, Errol could feel Eris stiffen underneath her hand, but only for a heartbeat as the girl shortly relaxed inside of her hand. The common gesture in Errol's world taking her by surprise, which in turn surprised Errol slightly as her own hold on Eris's hand faltered in worry that she had once more crossed that invisible border of what was acceptable and what was not. Yet, when a smile was shot at her, Errol let out a tiny sigh of relief that blew away her uncertainty.
Licking her lips, which were not in need of being moistened it was just one out of the many habits Errol had, she noticed that a majority of the crowd was heading right, so instead of wanting to be caught up in the river of bodies, Errol's head snapped right. "Left it is then," she said as she pulled Eris along with her, their arms now chained together due to Errol's quick work. For a Hufflepuff, Errol acted a tidbit too much like a Gryffindor, but that is to be expected when one has been raised by them their whole life, surely if she hadn't been so open-minded and docile than her House would have been the one of Godric Gryffindor like the rest of her family, except for her cousin Rhys. Rhys who never failed to mention how he had ended up in Ravenclaw and, although never stated straight out, how he was so much better than everyone else in the family for being sorted into the house of knowledge. But for better, or for worst, Errol had found herself in the pleasant care of Hufflepuff, not that she minded, it had seemed like she had been born for that House, fitting into it like a puzzle piece.

Eris smiled pleasantly, happily linking her arms with the other girl. Was it okay to link arms? This was the most contact Eris had endured with another human for months! Sure, the girl had chained their arms together in the first place. It was too late to take it back now, so Eris kept her arm linked with the other girl, as she started to march to the left. Wait was that the left, or was the other side the left? Eris stopped walking, forgetting her arm was interlocked with Errol's arm as she frowned. Eris looked frantically from side to side, before finally letting Errol lead. "Sorry, I forget what left was." The girl amended, face flushing as she smiled sheepishly. Eris may of been 11 years old, but honestly, she still barely remembered her right from left on good days. Most days she didn't remember her directions. Maybe that was why she so often got lost in the massive halls of Hogwarts instead of finding her classes. Well, that was probably just one of the reasons.
Humming under her breath, the gyffindor girl turned fully to the hufflepuff, resisting the odd urge to start skipping or running. Something about wandering the halls with another girl felt so much like Eris's childhood adventures with her twin sister, and that made Eris extremely care-free and happy. Although, under that she felt the familiar pang of sadness and despair that she so often felt when thinking about her sister. Eris shrugged her shoulders, well as much as she could while her arm was interlinked with Eroll, and tried to think happy thoughts.
She was at school, not at home with Belladona. Errol and her were going on an adventure around a magic school, and were going to skip their first classes! Not only was Eris not going to have to do first day introductions, she was going to find her way around school so she wouldn't miss anymore lessons. And she would hopefully make a new friend out of this adventure.

Errol paused for a moment as she felt a slight pull on her arm as Eris paused, bringing the two of them to a stop. Caught off guard, Errol looked over her shoulder to see what had happened, her grey eyes falling upon Eris who's cheeks flushed a bold red from embarrassment. Rather than worrying, Errol just chuckled at how flustered her new friend was as she revealed how she had difficulty telling her lefts from rights. "Oh don't worry," she smiled. "I still struggle with tying a proper knot." she said honestly in a matter-of-fact way as she tried to make Eris feel less bad about her hesitation.
Taking the lead, Errol made a slight gesture in the direction she planned to go with a nod of her head, her curls bouncing ever so slightly making her steps seem light and playful. "We're going this way." she said pulling Eris along as they headed down the side that was less crowded. "So you're a Gryffindor," Errol asked as she glanced over her shoulder to watch Eris's response, her eyes gazing into Eris's. "right?" she ended the question with the rise of her eyebrows in an exaggerated gesture to help emphasize her question

Eris wasn't sure how to tie a knot either, but from the look on the other girl's face, she figured not to admit to that. It seemed like Errol truly thought that tying a knot was a skill one needed in life, although Eris didn't know why they would need to tie knots inside of Hogwarts, when they could do it by magic. Hopefully. Eris still couldn't even lift a feather with magic. Eris appreciated Errol's attempt of making her feel better though, and was cheered up from her feelings of embarrassment by the other girl's sweetness.
In no time, Eris was cheered up. She followed the other girl through the winding halls, letting Errol lead the way. She jumped up every other step, giggling as she did so. Her arm still linked with the other girl, she tried to bounce higher with every step. Finally, she started walking normally. "Yeah I'm a gyffindor. I don't know why though," the tiny girl shrugged. "I don't feel all that brave half of the time." She almost said that she was pretty sure she was going to end up as a hufflepuff, but stopped. The other girl might of taken offense at that. Errol was a hufflepuff. Maybe she knew that most people, like Eris's friend Avalon, thought that hufflepuffs were lame.
Eris didn't think Errol was lame though. She seemed really cool so far.

Errol chuckled before admitting her similar thoughts to Eris. "I thought I was going to be in Gryffindor," quickly she hurried on so that Eris didn't think badly of her as she explained her theory. "Most of my family were so I just figured." Laughing, she recalled the previous day when the Sorting Hat had hollered out Hufflepuff without hesitation as it laid on top of her nest of curls, the moment had taken Errol completely by surprise, her whole life she had been promised that she'd make a wonderful Gryffindor, but now she was a docile Hufflepuff. Errol still hadn't managed to get a letter out to her Maimeó, but she greatly believed that no one would mind, Hufflepuff wasn't too terrible, in fact, Errol was beginning to love it, then again she would've loved any House she was sorted into as long as it meant a place for her to belong. The only person who would mind her new affiliation was Rhys, her older cousin, but he had always been a tidbit dramatic.
Hurrying on alongside a skipping Eris, she made no effort to brush her roaming curls away as the hiked down the halls arm-in-arm. "I think the Sorting Hat knows what it's doing," she chirped out optimistically. "It must since it's been doing it for so long!" once more she was giggling with her new friend even though nothing she had said was a joke, the feeling of excitement and joy of knowing she made a new friend similar to her made Errol feel like she was walking on clouds and made her feel less worst about the situation they were both in, neither one having a clue about how to navigate through the school.
Tightening her grip, Errol's grey eyes travelled to the tall archway they were approaching at a rapid rate, just beyond it laid the Grand Staircase, Errol's greatest foe. At one point she had pinned down a flight of steps that was leading to the sixth floor, but once she started making her ascent, the ground rumbled and shifted, nearly tossing the girl over the edge as she grasped the railing for dear life and dropped onto her knees. The next thing she knew she was headed for the fourth floor, away from class. After that, she had made three more attempts before getting off on the floor Eris and she were both currently on, a floor she still didn't know what was. Scooting closer to Eris's side, she took comfort in the girl's proximity as they passed through the threshold, the murmuring of a thousand conversations reaching her ears.
