A Shy Meeting
"Um..." Serena stuttered as she tried to answer his question, thinking to herself, "How am I suppose to answer this?! I can't tell this kid everything, that'd completely ruin his childhood forever, but I can't just not tell him something. Dang it how could answer this...?" She took a deep breath as she said, "Sorry for answer a question with a question but didn't your parents teach you this stuff already? I'm sorry for putting you on the spot like this but its just that my parents told me almost everything I know, and the rest came from books."
Serena wasn't use to asking such direct questions like that. She never brought up stuff like that, she knew her parents had taught her everything at a young age, but was she really the only one? And the books she read definitely taught her a lot about relationships, which in some cases, probably wasn't a good thing. It made her wonder if she was the only First year in Hogwarts that knew this stuff. "I mean I know I haven't met that many people, but I don't think any of them knew this stuff either. Is that going to set me apart from everyone? Am I going to become and outcast because of this?" She thought to herself, suddenly fearing what might happen.

Jake blushed and stared downward. "No..." he said, shaking his head. He hadn't learned very much about this sort of thing from his parents at all. Part of it was his fault - when his dad had tried to mention it Jake had covered his ears - no interest in hearing about things like kissing. His mum had said that he could learn when he was older - he was just a little boy. And he certainly wasn't allowed any books about kissing - not that he would want them. He looked up again blankly at Serena, wondering how much she knew that he didn't, but now it was obvious...he was SUPPOSED to know. And now she knew that he didn't.
"C-can we um....I-I don't wanna um...I think I gotta go," Jake mumbled, beginning to hastily bundle up his books he'd been reading to take out for later. Now embarrassed, he wanted to make a quick exit. He hoped that she would never tell anybody about the talk they'd had and that he'd actually asked questions about kissing. But since he didn't know if she would he mumbled. "Please don't tell anybody about this...?" The boy nervously flickered his eyes around to see if anybody was looking. He looked like he wanted to say more, but then turned around to leave.

Seeing him blush and look down made Serena feel guilty, she didn't want to make him feel better. "Shraak Serena! Why did you have to ask that question?! Couldn't you just keep your flipping mouth shut! Now he's probably going to run from us...just like everyone else.." Her heart dropped as she heard him mumble he had to go. She looked down, trying to hide the fact that her eyes were filling up with tears. "Don't cry Serena...you promised yourself you wouldn't cry again...oh God I hope he can't see my face. I don't want him to think I'm a cry baby.."
Hearing his question, Serena responded with a quivering voice, "O-of course I won't tell anyone..." She quickly moved out of her chair, quickly walking towards an exit, her shoulder's visibly shaking from her crying beginning to start. "Why can't I make any friends? What is it I'm missing? I don't understand why its so hard to just get someone to like me...they all just want to run from me. It use to be so easy to make friends, and now I just can't do it anymore." she thought to herself, and unless stopped she walked right out, making sure her face wasn't seen by anyone.

Jake didn't see the way Serena looked when he said he wanted to leave...not at first. But when she spoke next Jake heard something in her voice that he knew very well. Was she...crying? Jake's heart sank. He didn't know what had happened or why she had started. What was she crying about...? Was it something he said? He hadn't said anything mean...had he?
"A-Are you ok?" Jake blinked, reaching out a hand to touch the girl's arm as she passed him by. He hadn't meant to make her cry or anything...he never wanted to do that. He looked up at her and wondered if she was going to be alright. He hated to see somebody cry and he just wanted to make her feel better. "I...I..." he stammered, thinking about what he'd said. "I'm not mad or anythin'," he said, hoping that wasn't what she thought. He hoped she wouldn't go away like that in tears...
Jake looked down at the floor feeling bad. He didn't know if it was his fault or not but he began to feel very guilty all the same. It might have been his fault...or something he'd said to her without knowing that it was wrong.

When Serena felt Jake touch her arm she froze, not knowing how to answer him, or what to do in general. Out of the corner of her eye she saw that he looked down, making her feel guilty. She turned to face him directly, her eyes flowing with tears as she says to him, "Its...its not your fault. Its my fault. There's something wrong with me." She stopped for a few seconds, choking on a lump in the back of her throat. She swallowed before continuing to say, E-everyone runs from me, no one likes me, I can't even get the people I want to protect to stay with me. I just...I just can't take this anymore..."
Serena completely fell into tears slowly moving to sit back in her chair, covering her face in her hands, her entire body shaking from how much she was crying. "Why, did you just tell him that? Now he knows. No one should know. Why would you open up to him?" She thought to herself as she just let her tears from freely. All of the people in the library were looking over at them now due to the echoing sound of Serena crying.
