Finding a Theory
Dahlia snorted a laugh. She didn't mean to, really, and she didn't mean it in an offensive type of way, it just sort of came out. It's just that she couldn't possibly imagine herself as Muggle-born, nor had she ever been subject to anyone perceiving her as such. Magic had been so integral to her upbringing, and had always encompassed every inch of her surroundings. Besides, a Muggle-born in Slytherin? She knew it wasn't impossible exactly, but still, extremely rare.
"Sorry," she quickly interjected. "But, yeah, no. Pure-blood here." She brushed a few stray locks of her hair from her eyes. "Down to the roots of the ol' family tree." This was true, and something Dahlia was quite proud of. Not in a snobbish sort of way, of course, or so she hoped-- her family wasn't one of those kinds. She did know the type that Maggie had referred to, of course, and it dawned on her that she herself was probably sharing a House with any students here who may happen to think that way.
Dahlia looked to Hailey inquisitively, waiting to hear her response. Still a bit confused as to how she'd never heard of Azkaban before, she was quite intrigued to hear more about her background.
