Beasting after Beauty PV. Dinara, Marla Closed

[quote]Okay, maybe, just maybe, this was an extremely grave mistake she had just made. What the hell was she doing?! Pretending to be a husband to some Hufflepuff she barely knew... Nevertheless, as much as she wanted to just walk away and pretend like her secret identity "Patty" had vanished into thin air, that was no way to go about this situation. If Dinara had ever found out it was her who was her imposter 'hubba dub dub', Marla doubted that she'd ever be forgiven. And to say things between them would be awkward was an understatement. So no, there was no escaping this. Marla had already dug herself in a deep hole that not even the biggest shovel could dig her out of at this point.

Dinara, seemingly desperate, had decided to play along with the disgustingly romantic act, blowing a slobbery kiss Patty's way. She lowered her glasses and winked with one hand, catching the kiss with another and kissing the middle of her palm. "Oh, Dindin, you shouldn't have, I can't wait to take you on another ride by the beach in my bright red sports car like we did every Friday at sundown on our honeymoon," Her voice cracked an almost unsettling amount of times, resembling a short and stubby boy at her prep school talent show that made ten kids cry with his singing. To be fair, Marla was quite freaked out at Dinara's kiss, lipstick now smeared around her already extremely cakey makeup.

Except, the girl seemed to have gotten into more than she had signed up for: a love triangle because the boy next to Dinara... Did not seem content at all to hear about her eloping Patty. In fact, after hearing his screech of terror about Marla's nickname for Dinara, she was quite convinced that she went a little bit deaf. And.. He proceeded to start slapping his chest. Was this guy having a stroke or something? Holy shit, if she was trying to make this guy jealous... She had to give it to Dinara, she had a horrendous taste in men. "Yeah, Dinnykins, you got a problem widdit?" She asked, mocking the Slytherin and shoving her hands into her robes. Going to put an arm around Dinara, she recalls that she's an inch smaller than the girl. Pretending that she was just stretching her arm instead, she then went on her tippy toes and put an arm around Dinara once again, fixing up her sunglasses. It was tragic, really, that Marla was so short. Practically couldn't do anything without being called a gremlin or asking somebody to get something from an out of reach surface for her.

In other affairs, Marla's real question was why in the world Dinara had done this to herself. To impress some lanky, crabby little boy? Thinking about it to herself, she snorted without realizing, but quickly covered it up with a cough. Though she did sound more like a pig bleeding out than having a small cold, it was better than nothing. Having the boy thinking that she were laughing at him which she was, would escalate the situation and possibly blow her cover. And, by all means, she couldn't afford that, not this far into it.

A sneer creeped across her face as the boy proclaimed Marla as Fatty Patty. Was that really all he had? Fatty Patty? In all honesty, she was a bit disappointed. Slytherins were supposed to have quick wit. He just had... Quick. To be dumb. In her defense, his statement was completely inaccurate. Marla was actually unhealthily skinny for her size, even being so short. Her arms resembling small twigs, if she rubbed them together, the Gryffindor wouldn't be surprised if she were able to make a small campfire. And speaking of fires, one sparked within the girl when Mr. Ratman decided that he all of a sudden hated sports and motercycles. Not being too quick witted herself, especially with a whole two months to do anything else in the entire world except read, her mind kind of blanked on what to say.

"W-well, I don't think y' could pull off sports anyways! Ya look like a floating shet in the toilet, ay." Was all she could come up with, through several falters in her voice in a poor attempt to sound like a manly man.

And before she knew it, the boy was trying to fight. Of course he was. But if he wanted to play that game, Marla had a critter of her own. Sliding her arm off of 'Dinnykins', the girl cupped her hands around her mouth to project her voice more and screamed, "ICKYYYYY!" Like a fat little baby with it's bum out for the whole great hall to hear, and did more than a few heads turn. But it was somewhat successful, because in swooped her white, ginormous great white owl, plopping its fat body on the tippy top of Marla's head. She almost toppled over from the sudden dead weight on her head, but caught herself on Dinara's awful clothing. Now, ready for combat, she balled her fists and bent her knees, moving back and forth, trying to look intimidating. Instead she resembled an old squirt that threw his back out trying to signal to his nurses that he needed help, but Marla didn't need to be informed of that. All she knew was that if this boy was going to fight to the death, she was... Somewhat ready.

And hopefully somewhat ready was enough.

If Dinara were to be quite frank, the whole situation was somewhat starting to get to her. She hadn't expected an actual 'Timmy Patty' to somehow magically appear out of thin air, even if it was rather difficult to explain many of the strange occurences at Hogwarts. Still, the short, squeaky male somehow made Dinara feel so... uncomfortable. His voice cracking somehow sounded worse than Dinara's howls at a karaoke as she cracked out terrible renditions of 'Frozen 2' songs, and that awkward, tip-toed arm sling around her shoulders made her (quite visibly) gag as she struggled to maintain her composure.

Twitching the corner of her lip up into an awkward smile, she nodded uncertainly. It was quite a rare moment for the Hufflepuff -- for the first time in her life, she might have felt regretful. She had only meant to get under the Slytherin's skin, not get herself embroiled in some odd child-marriage thing with a guy that she was utterly horrified by!

Sniffling, she casually brushed Timmy's arm off her, her eyebrow quirking haughtily. Her initial shock and confusion had caused her to lose her cool, but she was quickly reminded of her status as Hogwarts' reigning beauty queen/resident beauty guru/all around Most Desirable Second Year Hufflepuff Female Prefect. Who were these gremlins vying for her attention?

Had Dinara somehow been able to look into Marla's brain, she'd have screeched at her and perhaps clawed her fiery red locks out. She did not have terribad taste in men. Who would even like the stupid, lanky Slytherin male? Definitely not Hogwarts' reigning beauty guru, that's for sure. She saw him as a rival and nothing more; this was something that Dinara Lucey had firmly convinced herself upon. Of course, she could just be going through the usual 12-year-old girl phase of avoiding boys and cooties like the plague.

She had been busy pretending that the two boys were rather beneath her, and had even took to squeezing herself in between two rather disgruntled looking Third Year students as she watched Remy launch poor Shannon at Timmy. It was quite a sight, really, and Dinara had to make a conscious effort in holding Dunkin back from lunging at the flying fat rat treat.

The exchange of insults have been nothing more than mere juvenile play. With a flying rat involved, things were really getting heated up. Another shrill yell (with another awkward, raspy voice crack) from Timmy Patty had sent a large white owl, rather similar in appearance to Dunkin, flying across the hall and nestling itself quite comfortably in Timmy's nest of a hair. At this, Dunkin perked up and stomped over, seemingly excited and ready to join the fray in what seemed like the most ridiculous Pokemon battle to be ever held.

Dinara bit her lip, once again anxious at this unexpected turn of events. She wasn't about to get herself embroiled in some animal fighting ring, but she quickly pulled her tiara out from her mess of noodle curls in preparation for a brawl. If anyone were to come by her direction, she'd at least have a makeshift shiny boomerang thing to distract them with before she made a quick escape, right? Before that, she'd also have to ensure the safety of her beloved owl, who seemed all to ready to peck the souls out of the two boys who seemed ready to brawl to the death.

Dinara might have been rather flattered by this turn of events had it not been so ridiculous.

"Dunkin, if they fight, eat the rat first!" The girl called out to the massive owl that was encircling the 2 boys. She wasn't quite sure if he was eyeing the other animals present, or the two boys who were starting to look like actors from a B-Grade, knock-off 'Fight Club' movie.

It almost seemed as though a brawling ring would have started in the Great Hall then and there. The girl quickly ripped her Prefect Badge off and stuffed it in the inner pocket of her pink mink coat, lest someone identified her and got her into trouble for being part of this absolute mess. In a bid to strengthen her disguise, Dinara flipped her noodle looking hair forward to create a weird center parting of sorts. A poor disguise, but a disguise nonetheless.

The Escape Artist was ready to run.
