There truly was a sort of kinship between the two Ravens. Something deeper than just a couple of classmates who happened to be sorted in the same house. Returning James' hug, Lark felt much of the worry she had been clinging to the past couple of weeks melt away.

Lark snorted down a laugh as James brought up the possibility of being close to Savannah. "Not likely!" She shook her head, silvery tendrils swaying against her shoulders. She doubted they could have ever been close... and if James had been sorted into somewhere else... well..

"Do you believe in stuff like fate-"

Exactly. There was no way. As much as Logan had made a jab at Fate and the actual probability of something like that... Lark knew deep down it was a real entity. Something at least pulling people together or apart. Placing people right where they needed to be and no sooner or later in life.

"I can't picture how things would be if you hadn't sat next ta me." She thought back to the Sorting Ceremony. Had things gone different she was sure they might still have become friends but possibly under different circumstances..

Lark stared at James as he spoke, her eyes watching him and taking in every detail of the boy's face. She couldnt imagine her time here without her friend.

"I think you're right James McMurtrie." Lark's attention was pulled away for a moment as it seemed their peers were rushing to return brooms as class came to a close.
