Onward to Hogwarts!
She smirked when Pressy called her welcoming, but quickly replaced the smirk with a wide grin. Hufflepuff? Perfect. He would be useful...She could watch him better if he was in her house. Once she got rid of the Gryffindor idiot, now that he didn't seem to want to be anywhere near the Porcelain Palace, she could take him on as her newest prey boyfriend, and actually use her lovers for something good instead of just trying to get them to obey.
Lamik had been a poor choice, but she had been young. He was too rebellious, too inconsiderate, too unwilling to listen. Maybe, if she was lucky, she could get Pressy to beat him up in revenge.
"I see," she murmured, grin still affixed to her face. "I think you'll be quite happy there, of course. Let's hope...and then I can be your first Hufflepuff friend."
She stuck her tongue out at him, a habit she had seen her younger sister do with her boyfriend this summer. Mari didn't really understand what was flirtatious about this, but she had learned, through Lucy's great successes with boys, that it, for some reason, worked. And if it failed, she still had the inventory of questions to ask your crush that she had owled Lamik over the summer, when Lucy told her to "stop bothering me and look up your dumb questions on the internet."
It seemed that ignoring Lola had served its purpose, as the girl had gone silent out of nowhere. Mari closed her eyes as she eye-rolled, not wanting Pressy to see her judgment of the other 11-year-old. Girls could be so foolish, turning silent just because a more impressive woman had entered the room. Two could play at this game though; if Lola thought that Mari was intimidating, then she might as well capitalize on that fact. As she took the roast beef sandwich, she interjected, "If she doesn't want it, I'll take her share. I'm starving."
A silence engulfed the girl as she scarfed down her portion and looked expectantly at Pressy, but in traditional Mari fashion, a sense of discomfort overcame her, and she asked the first question from that survey she could think of, anything to fill the silence. She blurted, "So, are your parents as attractive as you?"
Her face reddened, but she wouldn't retract the question. If these two first years thought she was an intimidating and/or welcoming and/or confident girl, she wouldn't let them think otherwise.

Onward to Hogwarts!
Maya shouted at her mum to hurry up as she was running down the train station with all her belongings she was trying to find platform 9 3/4 as quickly as possible. Her Mum never got ready quickly and Maya was going to come alone, she did most things alone so this wouldn’t of been any different, but her mother insisted to come
“Here it’s here!” Maya said happily standing still and facing the platform 9 wall it was quite daunting to run straight into a wall, people must think she looked crazy just standing and staring at a wall
Her mum soon caught up “What are you waiting for? Hurry up you don’t want to miss the train” maya rolled her eyes, she had been ready for hours but her mum took forever to get dressed and then to get them here “You just need to run straight forward” her mum said like it was so simple, Maya had been raised as a muggle with knowledge of the wizarding world since her mum was also a witch but she chose not to be part of that world and to just be a muggle
Maya took a deep breath taking a few steps back so she had enough momentum to run through the wall, here goes nothing she thought to herself as she started to run and then suddenly she was on the other side of the wall
It wasn’t very busy there were just parents stood around but most of the other kids were probably already on the train
The Hogwarts Express it looked so amazing it was a dazzling red and gold so much nicer than those other muggle trains, she hugged her mother goodbye and stepped inside
Most of the seats were filled with students all in big groups she wondered if she would ever find space to sit, she walked past each cart peering inside looking for an empty seat to squeeze into
She finally found a quite empty cart it only had three people inside it "So, are your parents as attractive as you?" Yeah maybe not she wouldn’t want to interfere and go inside
But before she could go to another cart the train started to move, it was a sudden movement and it made Maya fumble into the cart, she almost fell over but steadied herself before she fell, she would be sitting in here after all then
She took a seat opposite a young redheaded boy and a young girl but she looked slightly older than the boy, Maya was sitting next to a brunette haired girl with one braid in her hair nice and neat and the other side was falling out of the braid “Hi” Maya said sweetly and with a smile

Onward to Hogwarts!
Scott sent a slightly stern look towards Mari only to have it soften once she started eating. She ate with such desperation that it almost looked like she was afraid it would be taken away from her. That still did not excuse her rude behavior towards the Lola though. Even if she was hungry or possibly sleep-deprived.
Chancing a quick glance at Lola, he noticed that she now was avoiding his gaze and looking out of the window. Concern curled up in his chest as he watched the previously energetic girl shy away from the duo. Perhaps.... she was not as excited to be around others as he first had thought. It couldn't have been anything that he or even Mari had done to cause such a change. Even if Mari had been a bit rude, it would not have explained the instant mood change. Scoot, for some reason, felt like it would have taken a lot more to make the other girl upset.
So if she wanted her space he was willing to give it to her, despite the disappointment he felt from it.
Glancing away from her, he politely opened his book to continue reading in the found silence. Mari didn't seem to like the silence too much, as he quickly found out, a sudden and unexpected question escaping her lips. "So, are your parents as attractive as you?" Blinking, he furrowed his eyebrows and repeated the question silently to himself. What? Looking up he found Mari's eyes gazing into his own, embarrassed but firm. So- so that was towards him.
Before he could think better of it, he openly snorted and covered his mouth as his chuckles turned into full-on laughter. He didn't know it was such a funny question to him but it was so out of nowhere that it came off as hilarious. No one in his entire life had ever even come close to asking him such a question. There was no way to actually answer it without coming to the conclusion that Mari must have read a teen magazine to think of a question like that. It took him a bit, but soon enough, through his giggles, he was able to offer up an answer.
"I would answer that but-" A chuckle rose up once more." "b-but then I would be worried if you were gonna try to ask them out. And I don't know if I would be ready for such a change." Grin large and playful, he wholeheartedly had to take deep breathes to calm down. "Though I appreciate the compliment---" The sound of the door opening drew his attention to the girl now sitting next to Mari. When did she-?
"Hi." The girl sweetly smiles at him, prompting his own grin to match her own in greeting. Just where were all these new kids coming from?? He swore they would have been moving by now. Weren't they. "Oh uh hello. Did you just get on the train too?" Right? "I swear the train would have been moving by now." Maybe they would move soon or everyone would be late getting to school.

The boy smiled back at Maya and he asked her if she had just got on the train as he thought they would be moving by now, "Yeah I just got on the train I was running a litte late" she shrugged her shoulders and nervously smiled again, she looked around at the other people in the cart they hadn't spoken yet, she looked back at the boy "I hope I wasn't interrupting anything when I came in" Maya said even though she had already overheard a little part of what seemed like a personal conversation that she didn't want to interfere in but since the train started moving she had no other choice but to sit in here
Maya felt a little awkward so she decided to just look out of the window and watch the trees and scenery pass them by as they made their way to Hogwarts, she was wearing some comfy black jeans, a graphic t-shirt and a dark green camouflage printed jacket and she was wearing a locket necklace and some black boots, Maya always usually wore the same types of outfits it was always a mixmatch of different styles, patterns and colours
As she was looking out the window Maya kept fiddling with the necklace twirling it around her finger, holding it in her hand, opening and closing it but once she realised it would probably be annoying to keep hearing the clicking sound of the locket opening and closing she stopped and placed her hands by her side "I'm Maya by the way" she said pulling heself back into reeality and stopping herself daydreaming

Mari noticed the uncomfortable way Pressy spoke, but she was used to this. Whether it be the awkward way she held herself or how...intimidated people sometimes acted around her, especially since everything happened. She was going to answer Pressy when a shrill noise interrupted their romantic moment with a "hi." Mari's eyes darkened as she turned to see who interrupted her moment of "romance." She had just gotten the other girl to shut up; she didn't need any more of an interference when trying to woo Pressy. In a short tone, she responded, "Hey."
Mari turned immediately back to Pressy, not wanting to give the other girl a platform to steal her beloved away from her, but Pressy was too good, far too good to ignore her. He was definitely a stereotypical Hufflepuff. Mari would have to work quite hard to woo him and get him to beat up Lamik for...existing. They conversed; Mari sighed but listened carefully.
Looking at the new girl, Mari inched closer to Pressy as she responded, "It happens to the best of us. My sister's going to be a first year, as well, which is really the only reason why my family was so early. But for some...it's less important."
There could be some undertones inferred from this statement, but Mari, for once, did not intend anything malicious by her statement. She was too busy getting closer and closer to Pressy, to the point where if she moved any further, they would be bound to brush hands. Not that she actually wanted to; for Mari, boyfriends were much more about the title than the actual romance. She still wasn't actually interested in dating. The only thing that appealed to her about it was the power that came behind having a lover.
"You weren't interrupting too much," Mari added coyly as she responded to the next statement. "I was just asking Pressy about...his family." Her eyes glinted suspiciously as she let out a small smile. "And your siblings, Prescott? I hope you don't mind me calling you Prescott. I love the name."
Finally, the girl added her name, and Mari, asserting her dominance, merely stated, "I'm Mari, Hufflepuff second year. Prefect. And this is Prescott, but you can call him Scott."

With a nod, he grinned encouragingly at Maya when she nervously answered his question. Her body screamed nervously and he would not have been shocked if she had left right then and there. But seeing how the train had started moving, she must have come to the conclusion that it would be best to stay where she is. Not like he really minded. Perhaps having another person would open Lola back up again. Or simply having someone else to speak with would calm Maya's nerves.
It seemed that Mari was also having the same idea, easily reassuring the other female that is normal for some kids to get on board late. Scott had almost been in the same boat himself if he hadn't walked ahead of his grandparents. He wondered if they had actually made it.
Too lost in his thoughts, Scott didn't even notice Mari slowly inching her body closer to his own. It wasn't until he felt her warmth radiating on his left side and the coy tone of her voice close to his ear did he actually noticed her close proximity. Jerking in his surprise, he glanced at the empty seat across from him where she had once been next to Maya.
When did she move? Wow. He was really blanking out if he wasn't noticing that. But that also must mean something is wrong if Mari just randomly decided to switched seats.
But, she wasn't acting any different from his knowledge. Glancing her over, he noted that his body was relaxed if not just close to his. There didn't seem to be anything off though, so he just ignored it for the time being. He didn't mind her being super close. He was used to having someone close to him whenever he was home or in the play yard during class. Even if he didn't have many friends, Scott learned quickly enough that the younger kids liked to be near anyone that was willing.
Something that did bother him somewhat was his full name being used, however. His grin strained a little bit, awkwardly biting the inside of his cheek as he thought it over. "I would prefer Scott honestly Mari." Not like he could stop her from using his actual name, but it did feel wrong hearing it. And he was more than willing to back down from anything else but with his name, he was going to be a bit more firm. Maybe he should have just said Scott off the bat. "Or Pressy if you want. Prescott just sounds a bit..... " Stupid? Dumb? Wrong? "weird for me."
For now, he ignored speaking about his siblings, turning his attention back to Maya. Of course, he didn't have the chance to greet her before Mari was doing that for him. And if he wasn't being too dense, it almost curt with how she greets Maya. Even though it slightly irritated him, he shook it off and smiled at Maya. "Nice to meet you, Maya. " At least she had included his preferred name. "I noticed you're a bit nervous, so I hope it's not because. I promise we don't bite." He gives a sideways glance to Mari and then Lola. "Well, I promise I don't bite." He grinned playfully, hoping that will calm her down before silently offering his lunch bag to Mari in case she was extra hungry. All the while, he was oblivious to the rough turbulence happening in the front area of the train as they moved out of the station.

Onward to Hogwarts!
The girl opposite Maya looked at her as she singled herself closer to the boy making Maya feel more uncomfortable but the train was already moving so she wasn’t about to leave now and she had finally found a seat in one of the many busy carts
The girl then said something about how she was early with her sister but that it’s not that important to others, aiming the slightly sly statement at Maya since she was so late she almost missed the train and usually Maya would snap back with a snarky comment but she wasn’t 100% sure the girl was even being rude so Maya thought it’s probably best not to say anything back until she was sure it was aimed in a rude way
The girl then answered Maya’s earlier statement when Maya was asking if she was interrupting the two of them, which she still thought that she was, but the girl said that Maya wasn’t interrupting so at least that’s good ... kind of
There was just something about this girl, something that didn’t seem friendly or welcoming at all. She seemed like all the fake friends Maya had back home, that just pretended to like you so they could get whatever they wanted, and this girl definitely seemed like that type of person but of course this was all just an assumption, not one that Maya would ever say out loud, but she still thought it to herself and maybe she’s thinking wrong of the girl, but who knows
After Maya introduced herself and looked back over to them, the boy looked a little awkward his smile straining slightly, but then the boy turned his attention to Maya and he looked like he was going to speak when the girl interrupted him. The girl introduced herself as Mari, she’s a second year Hufflepuff and a prefect and then the girl, Mari, introduced the boy next to her as Prescott and she said Maya could call him Scott
Maya found it a little weird that the girl was introducing the boy to her, and just the way she introduced him wasn’t entirely welcoming or sweet, it was just strange to Maya the boy was capable of speaking on his own, but it wasn’t her place to say her opinions right now she barely knew them
The boy, Scott then smiled at Maya and said it was nice to meet her, she smiled back he seemed much more kind than the girl who Maya could see right through she wasn’t fooling her with her nice act “It’s nice to meet you Scott”
Scott then pointed out that he noticed Maya seemed a little nervous, she was taken a bit by surprise, she wasn’t even aware he noticed her staring nervously out the window as they traveled further away from her home but she’s glad he did notice
“I promise we don't bite." He said slightly glancing to the two other girls, Mari and the girl who hadn’t spoke yet "Well, I promise I don't bite." He playfully grinned which made Maya smile brightly back at him she’s glad somebody in this cart could joke and take a joke
“Good to know” she said laughing slightly “And sorry if I seem a little nervous, you’ve been really nice though so I’m feeling a little better” Maya said aiming her conversation at the boy, she was nervous, not of the girl or meeting new people, she had always independent so talking to people was never an issue, but she had never been far from home, it was easy being on her own in a familiar place but Hogwarts wasn’t familiar to her and neither was anything magical
