Sitting Upon Stilts
Well, maybe his heartbeat was levelling out high because of exercise now, but still.
Rowan simply pushed himself faster. He had spent around a year in this contraption now, and could go pretty fast in this thing, surprisingly. Most people didn't understand that. Didn't notice that. Even if he did notice the intentional speeding up, he didn't comment on it, he simply adapted, not complaining or anything of the sort. He also noticed the annoyance following the male. He didn't mean to annoy him, but eh if that's what it takes, that's what it takes.
"True. A house but not a home. I can understand that. What kind of pets? I have this little guy here but that's it."
Tripod poked his head out of Rowan's robes, staring Kae down from his perch on Rowan's legs. The beast's heartbeat was fast, and he was on high alert, but seemed generally un-bothered on surface level, save for the sight raise of hair and dilating of pupils. Most people wouldn't notice this though, or understand what it ment unless they had animals themselves or were around the creatures alot. Rowan himself noticed, but knew that there was nothing he could do about it.
Often lying, but not to you.

Sitting Upon Stilts
"Vortigern, Pendragon, some ants..."
He was more than a little surprised that his quickened pace hadn't caused the wheelchair bound boy following him to have to stand up. The chariot contraption was a lot faster than he had reckoned. Who knew wheels could move that fast when you were sitting on top of them, no wonder the boy was lazy, if he could move just fine without standing, why stand? Aside from the clear advantage of maneuverability, that is. Maybe he wasn't just lazy, but also stupid and nearsighted and lazy.
But whatever, that was none of his business. He was going to head to dunner, grab food and then head to the grounds where he was going to find a nice bush to hide in while he ate the fine plate of whatever edibles he managed to grab in the under a minute time limit he gave himself for the task. Dangers were everywhere, you couldn't just stand around in the main hall like that for long and expect to come out the other end fine.
He sped up again, heading for the dining hall, moving surprisingly fast considering his odd sideways gait. No backstabbing today, if he had anything to say about it.
