Alan would nod whenever Quinn mentioned another thing; getting more and more curious and excited to actually visit him in Dublin by every statement and place the taller boy named. Alan was grinning by the end and shook his head in amusement, when Quinn began to apologize for talking too much.

"No. No seriously, go ahead and talk! There is no reason you would have to apologize", he mentioned stretching a bit. "Do you like chocolate? I couldn't possibly eat this amount alone giving my size and all; always buy too much of it and my aunt will confiscate it, if I bring home too many sweets!", he explained pointing to the mountain of wrapped up Chocolate Frogs that he had dropped on the table between them earlier. Specks of yellow blending into orange danced in his light green eyes, and if Quinn would have stared at him careful enough over the period of time they had been talking, he would have noticed that those specks had not been there before.

But Alan was just happy and Quinn's cheerful and open personality affected Alan in a way that made the young Gryffindor more cheerful and open as well. Sure Alan was usually a happy person, but it often depended on the person he was speaking to, whether he would open up or back down and retreat. Alan was just glad that Quinn and himself were getting along just fine.

"So.... donut shops, hm?", he asked, smiling at the half giant, before leaning back into his seat, staring at the other, "Which kinda donuts are your favorites?", he asked curiously, crossing his arms and looking at Quinn as if this was a tough question to answer. But in all honesty the metamorphmagus was just curious, not even having noticed the change in his appearance or let's say his eyes.

"Jelly filled of course." The response was immediate. Quinn did not need any time to think about his answer because he already knew it and for him it was an absolute no contest. Was that a jab at him or something? Was a bit hard to tell but that was the feeling he got. "...Ye kiddin ah love chocolate." An here Quinn thought the tiny boy before him was nothing but pure pure kindness. So he could be sassy too. How interesting...most interesting indeed.

Smirking the young Hufflepuff did not wait for any response. "Take eit ye were 'pectin me to 'ave troeuble answerin dat question huh? Well 'ough luck ah'm much simpler then ye moeght think." A small deep laugh elicited itself from within Quinn. Hardy and full of life it was so unlike the way he had been feeling the last few months. The tiny Gryffindor sure was unique in that aspect. Then again even though they were strange, Quinn had to admit that he was one to be calling someone strange considering how he was.

"Anyway how bout ye? What's ye fav flavor o donut?" A simple yet important question. Donuts were afterall a good way to determine someones intentions. Because well...he didn't really know why but it sounded cool and he loved donuts so yeah it made perfect sense!

Alan grinned, nodding at the half giant sitting across from him. That was a quick answer and one that Alan deemed worthy.  Quinn was a nice guy, a fact Alan had only taken seconds to notice. His heart was at the right spot and he seemed upright with the way he acted and talked, which was quite refreshing if he was being honest.

"But what about the sugarcoating?", Alan asked suddenly, as if it was an important question to answer. He loved the ones filled with jelly but sometimes the simple ones were just fine. But ohhhhh the combination of it was pure sugar heaven! The specks of yellow in his eyes seemed to stretch out, leaving his irises in a yellowish amber color with specks of his natural light green color. Excitement and content. "You just gotta love those, don't you think?", he exclaimed.  With every second passing Alan would get more used to talking to the Hufflepuff. That may be because the Gryffindor actually enjoyed talking to him.

"I guess that answered your question!", he said, chuckling lightly, shaking his head as a bit of nervousness noticeable in his voice. But his mood and behavior still seemed relaxed and calm, so it would not have been worth worrying about.

"Sugarcoatin 'oehh? Yeah you 'ave an excellent point dere. Can't really argue wit you dere." It was the truth simple as that. Quinn would take one hand running it through his curly, thick locks of hair. For a brief moment his attention would be turned to the outside looking at the fast moving terrain outside the train. It was beautiful and serene, very calming for him really.

After a few moments of the calmness Quinn's attention was brought back to Alan. "Sahrry abooeht dat i gaht a lettle bet destracted. Weird sence i dahn't usually get destracted when talkin abooeht sweets wit anahther persahn who lahves dem as moehch as me. " He found a kindred person in this Gryffindor. It was relieving and fantastic all at the same time, oh how curious it was. But even more so was now that they looked closer Alan's eyes color changed to something unique. Could it be?

"Dahn't take dis as rude. Are you a metamahrph by chance?" That was the only way he could think of someone so young being able to change their appearance like that. It had to be the answer right? If it was this train ride just got so much more interesting.

Alan grinned at the half giant, when he mentioned that he could not argue with the point Alan made. But who in their right mind could? Sugarcoating was and will always be delicious! He let his eyes wander over the Hufflepuff for a moment, before he also let himself be distracted by the scenery they were passing by; it just was so pretty and Alan could not help but wonder how many magical creatures they would be passing on the train ride without him actually seeing them. Alan could not help for the next year to start, when he would actually be able to visit the Care of Magical Creatures classes.

His head snapped back as he stared at Quinn with wide eyes. Had he messed up somehow? Alan must have let his guard down, but he usually never had it up anyway. He was surprised the half giant pointed it out though, as most people would just talk about this behind his back. "I am! What made you notice? Were it the eyes?",Alan asked as he tried to see his reflection in the glass of the train window. Indeed it must have been his eyes that betrayed him. "That's not weird for you, is it? I can try to control it, but I cannot promise to mess that up sometimes...", he muttered a bit rattled. He would not initially assume that it bothered the taller guy, but he could not help himself but to ask the question anyway, hoping he would assure him that his worries were not necessary.

"It's a part of ye ain't it? No since hidin what ye are? Ah think it makes ye rather unique, don't ye?" Was the truth that casually slipped past his slightly chapped lips and thick accent. No sense sugarcoating what was true. In truth Alan was rather fascinating, the scientist in him was absolutely astounded. He'd never met a Metamorph before and to be getting to know one well how interesting that would most certainly be.

Quinn flashed a big goofy grin, "Shite, this train ride feels forever but ah'm glad ah have ye to taelk tae to make it go faster." Quinn admitted chuckling, and indeed, should Alan reciprocate. He ended up talking about all sorts of things he had seen and heard with them. The time zooming by faster then a golden snitch. Before either of the two would know it the train would finally reach it's destination and Quinn would have to bid farewell to a new and very intriguing friend. Perhaps his life at Hogwarts wouldn't be such a drab drag afterall. Oh how he looked forward to the next year. So many things planned. Whatever happened he would enjoy it to its fullest. Quinn wanted to make sure that his years at hogwarts going forward would be enjoyable as possible.

The young Gryffindor stared at the taller Hufflepuff, a smile making it to his lip as he had to think a few seconds about what the half giant was saying. In some way a part of him wanted to fight that logic, what if it made someone else uncomfortable the way his appearance changed. Especially around Muggles he had to be careful, concentrate and try not to stand out by the way his hair would change like the letters those muggles labelled their stores with. But he also liked the way Quinn was thinking, that he did not have to hide who he was since it was a part of him.

The both of them would chat some more as the train ride went on, as the Gryffindor felt happy to have someone to talk to. During the end of the train ride he found Tiger sound asleep next to his seat and picked him up, careful as to not to disturb him in any way. When they finally arrived at Kingscross station however, Alan happily said his goodbye to the freckled boy, wishing him a happy summer break and safe journey, before he went to find his parents. He could not wait to see them again and tell them about his year!
