Either Lamik was really clueless or he was just playing dumb for her sake. Whatever the cause, it was much to her relief in a sense that he decided to drop the subject when she brought up the Blossomfest. Still though, she couldn't shake the butterfly feeling...she just felt...drawn to the boy and she couldn't quite place the feeling though from the replies she was getting, he felt no such emotion, either that or he was very good at hiding it. "Yeah, it was pretty bad. I wasn't present for the Blossom Ball but I heard a fire got started somehow..never really figured out who the arsonist was..if there was one."As if spiked punch wasn't enough, they had a budding arsonist roaming about the school as far as she was concerned..granted, there hadn't been any major injuries as far as she knew but the school's notorious reputation for events going badly seemed to be a common trend, she had noticed.
"The cabins though..that was something of its own. A part of me really regrets going there now."She had a gut feeling she was doing something wrong partaking in that little adventure with Elena Jones and that poor Gryffindor boy and her gut feeling had turned out to be right."To sum it up, we walked on what I think were a couple of older students messing around with two other students, a kidnapping or something. We scared them off though..after a little scuffle."That scene was forever embedded in her head. That poor, poor girl, her eyes practically pleading for help and some stupid part of Elena had decided it would be a great idea to charge the clearly larger kidnapper who wound up tossing her to the ground. "Somehow, I think this school is forever tainted. Every time any sort of event is hosted. something is bound to go wrong, its a pattern I've seen."Elena fell oddly quiet after that realizing how much she had talked in the past two minutes. That was new for her..maybe she was just really passionate about the converstation, either that or she felt oddly comfortable around this person. Whatever the reason, the fact she had managed to carve more than two sentences together was a miracle in itself altogether.

Lamik always had a hard time coming to terms with everything that happened at Hogwarts. Every month there seemed to be news of some new dangerous event or violent outburst, and it always made him question how safe he actually was. Of course, he had had the misfortune of being present during one of these events- a bombing- so it shouldn't have been much of a surprise to anyone that he was so worried for his safety. Still, it seemed like things kept happening, no matter how much effort Headmaster Lear and the staff kept putting into the schools safety.
Lamik was extremely surprised when he heard about the kidnapping attempt. The boy certainly hadn't caught word of that, and wondered who in their right mind would even try such a terrible thing. Still, he couldn't help but smile when Elena mentioned being partially responsible for the kidnapping attempts failing. She was definitely someone who Lamik would want to befriend. "Thats... thats really brave." He said, looking her dead in the eyes. "I doubt I would have had the nerve to confront them. I would have probably run off to call for help, and who knows what would have happened bu the time it arrived. You're really brave."

There was that butterfly feeling but stronger this time. Just what was it with this guy? The second-year couldn't exactly grasp the attraction she was feeling but she wasn't about to let it show, something she terribly failed in the coming five seconds. A deep red blush tinged her cheeks as Lamik complimented her actions. It didn't help that he had quite the gaze, it was hard to focus on something else, she found her gaze drawn to him in an almost automatic reflex as a smile broke out on her face as well. "T-Thanks."She didn't know what had caused her to charge in recklessly that day but she chalked it down to the stress of the situation.
"I guess, but it just seems like every time there's something major going on, something always tends to go wrong."He had actually called her brave..that was a first. "Everyone is brave in their own way, it doesn't always mean you have to be a hero always, I just did what I thought was right at the time." He was a pretty nice guy overall and she could see them being friends..or perhaps something greater if that was even a option. A part of her was roaring at herself to tell the guy how she felt but it seemed a bit too sudden at the time. They had literally just met, maybe give it some time."You seem like a pretty chill guy, we should hang out sometimes, maybe during a break or something?"She posed it in a form of a question maybe trying to gauge what his reaction would be.

"I dont think thats exactly true. There are tons of people in the world who I wouldn't call brave." Lamik said before quickly adding: "Not that not being brave makes you a bad person, of course. It's just not a feature that everyone has." Lamik briefly wondered if he was brave, and upon reviewing the unfortunate circumstances that led up to his meeting with Mari, decided that in at least some ways he was. Still- there was a difference between pulling somebody out of danger and stopping the danger yourself, and the gryffindor was genuinely impressed by what Elena had done. "I see what you mean about Hogwarts though. It has never been a quiet place, huh? There always has to be somebody who's intent on hurting others."
His thoughts were cut short when he noticed that Elena's face had reddened. "Say..." He said softly. "Are you feeling alright? You seem sort of feverish, if I'm being honest." The last thing that Lamik wanted was to keep Elena here if she was sick and needed rest or medicine. "If you want we can go to the medical wing. I'm sure they'll have something that could make you feel better there."

"Well, not being brave isn't necessarily a con as you said. Some people just tend to do what comes naturally to them and I guess that was my thing."She was half-paying attention to Lamik, the other half of her brain attempting to focus on not completely turning into a stuttering mess in front of the boy. Well, that was until he made the remark about her supposed fever. At this point, she was convinced he was just clearly oblivious to the very obvious hints she had been giving all along and decided in a sense, that was for the better. She didn't know how she would react if Lamik got the slightest suspicion. "I-I-I'm fine, it's just..uh been a long day. Not everyday I end my day off by inhaling a column of smoke."Elena said laughing slightly trying to veer off the topic of her reddening cheeks.
"Do you want to head back up to the common room? We can talk on the way there." She was half-expecting a Professor's face to come leering out of the shadowy dungeon corridors any second now. Granted, they weren't doing anything wrong rather than filling classrooms full of fumes which wasn't even her fault, the odor of smoke still lingered in her nostrils. She really just wanted to keep this conversation going as long as she could, Elena just felt a..pull towards the person standing in front of her. Great. Amazing. She had actually fallen for him..now the question was, should she just confess all her inner thoughts now or let it simmer?

"No, I think not being brave is definitely a con. Its just that everyone has downsides." Though Lamik wasnt completely convinced by Elenas excuse, he supposed that it did make some sort of sense. Besides, he still felt at least a bit bad for catching her by suprise, and so thr bou decided not to push too much. "Ya, that is a good point." He said, grinning sheepishly. "Ill try my best to not do that again. No promises though." Lamik was extremely relieved to have stumbled upon somebody so calm, as the boy was well aware that most other people would have gotten at least somewhat angry.
To his suprise, Elena asked if he wanted to go back to the common room with her. Taking it as a good sign, Lamik nodded. "Sure! Honestly- its probably best if we left anyways. My lungs still hurt a bit, and I doubt that the professors would be too happy seeing us standing by a room full of smoke." Turning from Elena, to the classrooms doorway, and back to Elena, Lamik shrugged. "Lets go then." Wothout another word, Lamik started walking towards the dungeons exit.

She nodded in agreement chuckling slightly at the thought."No, I don't think any Professor would be happy to see what we've done to their beautiful classrooms. Of course, we wouldn't know anything about that though."She said jokingly glancing around at the vast remants of the smoke that were slowly evaporating. "No one said you have to promise, it was just unexpected, that's all so pardon my reaction."The girl tended to show more of her true side in situations of stress which was an interesting factor. Otherwise, she was quiet as a mouse which both worked for and against her in certain situations.
She followed the boy to the exitway leaving behind the room and it's smoke-filled contents for any other poor soul to discover. She was secretly sort of pleased he had agreed to walk back with her, maybe she could get to know him better. See what sort of person he was.Why are you so interested in him?Her internal thoughts kept planting doubts in her mind about why she was doing what she was but she just kept on going. Time would tell where this would lead. As far she was concerned, Elena Jangleton had made a new friend in Gryffindor House and that for her was a huge step. Making friends.
