Nothing came from nothing, and Angellica wasn't about to stop someone from achieving one of their goals. The other girl was in Hufflepuff, this could work to her advantage. It wasn't like they were competing for a position, and it would be advantageous to both of them to know each other's weaknesses on the field. "I would definitely help you prepare, for whatever position you want to play. I'm not perfect by any means, or even that good by my own admission, but it'd be nice to have someone to practice with. Especially off season," Angellica was genuine in the statement. As manipulative and calculating as she could be, she saw it in her best interest to help others be their best. It wouldn't feel like real competition if she didn't.

Second year would be different. Angellica planned to branch out, to learn things outside of books. She couldn't live in the library after all. And knowing an upperclassmen never hurt anyone. If anything, it might be yet another advantage in her quest for knowledge. After all, Serena probably knew more than she did. Obviously she did. The other definitely looked like she would make a good chaser or seeker. She was light, probably would be quick. Definitely not a beater, but then again, she didn't fit the profile either. "Whatever you settle on, I'm sure you'll do great," she said encouragingly.

Serena seemed to care about the garden, and although Angellica hadn't had the best first go at plants and other such things, she had come to enjoy cultivating this garden, just as she did her own personal garden. Diderot wasn't required reading, but Candid had been one of her favorite the summer before her first year, and she was finally understanding its mean. "I could come back with you, if you'd like," she offered. It was best for them to stay in pairs, in fact it was sort of required when out and about, and this was a way from camp.

"I must have left my mind wander," she chuckled placing a few more zucchinis in her bushel. Some green beans and she'd probably have enough for there to be a good meal on the table later. "There are so many magical creatures, and most of them seem...dangerous..." she shrugged. "Of course some might be cute like pygmy puffs or kneazles...My parents don't really see the appeal of pets, so I can't say I've been near more than the random pet roaming through the castle." There was a hint of guilt and disappointment across her features, but she quickly muted them. This was a mask she had practiced often, not wanting to deal with the outrage of her family at such feelings.

Serena moved towards the courgettes, kneeling down beside them to examine them after clearing up her section of the garden. She peered at them closely, checking them one by one. Most of them seemed to need a few more days before they were ready, in her opinion. She nodded as she listened to Angellica, "Practice would definitely be appreciated, I'm totally game whenever you want," She replied. She loved playing Quidditch. It was one of the few 'dangerous' activities that was actually rather enjoyable.

Surprisingly, Serena was not actually thinking of practicing to beat Angellica or to help Hufflepuff win. She perhaps should have been. But she was not. She just wanted some company that also enjoyed the things that she liked. Playing Quidditch was always fun, regardless of the competition or not. Finding some people to play with off season was something she would welcome. The thirteen year old kind of just wanted to have some fun. That was the bottom line of it. She wanted to enjoy herself and just be a child. If she made some likeminded friends that did not betray her trust out of it, then that was even better. But she was not about to hold any expectations on this. It was far too early for her to do so.

She could not help the grin that fell onto her face as Angellica offered to return with her later.  "Sure, that would be great," Serena finished checking the courgette patch. They seemed to have been picked fairly recently as most of them were still growing. She managed to harvest two of them though. "Alright, I think I've done this bit," The Indian girl stood up to see that her partner had managed to get through so many patches in that time, "Woah, you're quick!" Angellica had probably done way more of the gardening than she had but she had tried.

The Hufflepuff frowned a little as she looked over to Angellica, speaking about the magical creatures. It was a little... Sad? Was that the right word? She smiled softly, "Well..." She said slowly, wondering how best to phrase this before giving up and just saying what she felt, "Your parents aren't here. So if you were to, say, join 'roam' or hang out with pets... They wouldn't know..." Serena replied honestly. She had learned that the hard way. After spending years listening to her parents, she finally decided to just do some things her own way.

Serena nodded to herself, as she affirmed her actions in her head. She would return at a later date. With that, the Hufflepuff female waved at the Ravenclaw, "I'll see you later! Bye!" She announced as she headed off to enjoy the rest of the day, till it was a bit less hot and she could return to water the plants.

Angellica had been building her schedule for the following year at night, though she'd been neglecting it of late. For once she was busier living than she was planning every second of her life and it was rather freeing if she were being honest. Though she had always obeyed and listened to her parents, Hogwarts was beginning to create a bit of a rebellious streak in the blonde. Not that she would admit to such a thing. "Come syllabi week, we can find a day that works for both of us," she told the other. "And if you want to do so before, we can always find some brooms and perhaps a few people and play a mock game of quidditch, she said allowing herself to improvise. Unplanned life was interesting.

It was honestly hard for Angellica to let go, to just allow herself to be a child, but perhaps more people like Serena in her life would allow her to do just that. Everything had an anterior motive, it had been instilled since her early childhood years. Once her father had made her jump off stairs with the promise of catching her, only to let her fall. It had been a lesson in trust, and that even those closest could never be trusted. One of many reasons that made it hard for her to just accept things for what they are, and yet left her with a desire to be trusting.

The blonde smiled as the other told her she was quick. "I learned to work things that are unpleasant quickly so I wouldn't have to linger," she bit her lower lip at the words she spoke. "I love potions, and Herbology has grown on me, but some of these plants are...tactile-y unpleasant. It was something she had issue admitting, that she didn't like something relating to school, when honestly she loved school. Deep down she loved getting dirty, mostly because she wasn't allowed to back home, but it was so hard to shed habits.

Serena made a good point though. Her mother and father were definitely not present at summer camp. If they had been, she'd have been shipped to a private school with stricter rules she was certain. "I guess it would be a shame to allow a stray pet to go...unpetted," she was opening up to the idea. Some days she considered getting a pet and just hiding them over summer. There'd been that one cat at the menagerie that just felt...right. Sadly it would require saving every sickle she could get her hands on without her parents noticing.
