Duel Beta Match 9 - Hugh vs. Nico Finished

"Oh...OHH!" This spell did cast. The giant boy practically scared himself as the spell fired towards Nico. A large grimace appearing on his face as the charm hit somewhere at the bottom of the stage. Nowere near his opponent. His eyes would briefly flash over to the slytherin Head of House in an attempt at picking up a reaction. Alas, there was none. Perhaps she just felt utter disappointment and shame within just watchin the clumsy giant trying to get his wand to do anything.

"st-steleus..." It was more a mumble than anything else really.

Action: Mumble something that sounds like Steleus

Nico sighed and decided she'd try a different spell. She wasn't having any good luck with the Tickling Charm. Maybe it was because of her posture. She noticed that her back was abit curved so she straightened it. That looked better or it felt better atleast. She took a deep breath and aimed her wand at Hugh. No more Rictusempra... How big would the chance be that she'd miss this one or that he'd evade this. She was curious to find out...

'Flippendo'

The Round

Hjørdis pondered if she ought to sit down for the match. It seemed not be going very far, sadly. The tall boy succeeded in casting a spell, which pleased her. However, Nico was far too quick for him. She dodged his spell with easy. The par were very well matched, it seemed. The young Slytherin was fast enough to dodge his spells or maybe he seemed to be good at aiming it incorrectly. The Head of Slytherin was not sure which way around it was but either way, they were successfully dodging each other's attacks enough to be okay. .

Nico sighed and started to feel kind of impatient. Was there some force stopping them for hitting each other?... The Power of... Friendship? Odd. Right? She shook her head and straightened her back again aiming her wand at the Gryffindor, once again. Would she actually hit him this time? Her Head of House seemed unfazed. Was it getting to her that this could take quite some time? Nico didn't want to dissapoint her, at all. Locking her eyes at Hugh as if her life depended on it she spoke once more:

'FLIPENDO!'

Hugh scratched his head as Nico seemingly without effort dodged his attack. "Oh." The tall kid would exhale. He had hoped to have done something at this point. Though funnily enough the redhead had not managed to hit him either. Despite being a bigger target! Maybe he needed to get more agressive? He tried his best to put on a mean face. It wasn't really. More like the face he'd make when brushing his teeth before heading to bed. "Grrrrr..." He was trying, and honestly, he was doing a good job at standing his ground other than running from embarassment. "FLIPENDO!" he finally exclaim with a large swing of his arm.

Action: Flipendo. Don't count the mean face, ignore it...

The Round

Success! Hjørdis almost fistpumped as she watched both the students cast 'flipendo' towards each other. They were in attack mode, she loved it. That was what they were here for. No messing around, they were here to win. Nico's flipendo threw Hugh off his feet, knocking the wind right out of him. He had successfully cast his own attack in return but being thrown back ruined his aim. It gave the Slytherin Prefect a chance to evade his spell. 

In truth, Hjørdis still count this as successful for both. The rather tall boy had been struggling to even cast. This was definitely progress in her books. She just hoped that they could keep it up. Nodding, "There we go..." She said, "Let's keep this going." That was the most encouragement they would get out of her. It was aimed at both of them. They were doing well - well... as well as she could have hoped.

Nico grinned a little when she finally managed to hit the tall Scott. She straightened her back again and aims her wand again once more. She hit him, she could hit him again. He was a rather large opponent. It should be easy to hit him again, right? Unless he finds a way to distract her and weird her out.

Her eyes locked on him, she spoke: 'FLIPENDO!'

The Round

Hjørdis have never been so relieved to see students getting hurt. Whilst she did not like the idea of them getting hurt, she was thrilled to see both students had finally started to take the duel seriously it seemed. In a real situation, there was no time to mess around or fail to hit. It was do or do not. At least, they were starting to see success. That would, if nothing else, boost their self-esteem.

Hugh would find himself being flipped, yet again. He ought to get used to it but every time, it would still knock the wind of him. He would find himself a little more battered than before. Nico would start to sneeze, getting hit by the sneezing spell. She would struggle casting until it was gone... But nonetheless, they could both be glad that Hjørdis was likely rather proud of them at this very moment. That had to count for something right?

As soon as the spell hits, Nico starts to sneeze. Almost uncontrollably. Actually, uncontrollably. This was bad. Hugh was lucky to finally land a spell on her that could be a big disadvantage for her. She wouldn't give up though. Not yet. Not for a long shot. She hit him again which meant that everything was possible in this duel. Nico aimed her sneezes at the inside of her elbow, the way her mother told her was the best way to not infect anyone.

Quickly, after she sneezed once more, Nico had aimed her wand at the Scott again and spoke: 'SPONGIFY'.
