The room was tense. Tense with so many emotions that Donny was confused out of his wits. A psychopathic freak had managed to blow up a toilet, causing him and some other girl to collapse, him swimming in his own puddle of blood while people watched him, still and breathing hard. The one boy Rowan seemed to be in a mixture of raw emotions and humor, was he befriending him? While the prefect girl who hadn't in fact mentioned her name yet, was dumbstruck and furious with the situation. She came over to help him up. Donny flinched at the mention and stood against the wall, refusing to leave this quickly.

"Who are you!" he yelled at Mr. Psycho, clutching as many places as he could cover from seeping with blood. He knew nothing about who this boy was, or what he was known for, but he seemed to have a reputation for something. He was angry, and hurt, sad and mislead with the lack of information. His head throbbed with frustration, he was actually furious with the thought of the boy. He was absolutely, positively getting busted for this, and with a prefect in the room, he was most definitely expelled!

"Who would do something as horrid and evil as this!" he yelled at the boy, sweat wiping some of the dry blood off his face. And who were the monsters he spoke of? The only monster in the room was him! The freakin' bathroom terrorist! Donny fell to his knees, moaning with the wounds that stretched as he moved. What an awkward situation! What was everyone supposed to do. He glared, pained tears in his eyes as he set a piercing stare on the Psycho. He couldn't help but be upset, angry, but who could blame him. The girl with the blue hair seemed a bit uptight, and more interested in the kid with a small gash in his head, who's if she didn't know-was his own fault. Meanwhile Donny was becoming lightheaded...

Too many people, too many sounds. Elena closed her eyes, just for a moment, to sort through everything she was seeing and hearing.

Rowan was here, that was a bit of good luck, she trusted Rowan enough to treat him as some form of backup, although it was another thing to worry about, which was less good. Aurelia had come storming in, that was a lot more bad, luckily she ignored Elena and focused on her job as prefect. Maybe the girl did deserve the position. If this went well Elena would send her a sincere thank you letter.

There was a girl, injured, and a boy, also injured. They needed to be removed from the situation soon, some kid who thought he was hilarious showed up too, ridiculous how many people ran towards an explosion. He should leave, get his ass out of here before something bad happens. Not that Elena would.

Elena opened her eyes with a plan. Then the boy lying in a pool of his own blood started screaming, at Kaegen. Bad idea, bad plan. That would set off an already clearly unstable boy like a second bomb going off, defusing the situation would likely be impossible. Her plan went out the damn window. This kid was either stupid or had never been in a crisis situation. Probably both, seeing as he decided prodding the laughing child was a good idea.

"Stop talking." Elena said coldly to the boy who'd just gotten up, then turned her attention back to Kaegen.

"Kaegen Deathmote." There we go, start off by using his full name, not the one he introduced himself with, he called Rowan nameless, so it must mean something big, right? Hopefully this gambit would pay off, "It's Elena Jones, Jonesy, the um..." Think Elena, think! "Angel of the alleyways." There we go, that's a lot nicer, a lot more trustworthy. "You need to seal up that head wound. I don't know what you mean by monsters but you're no use against them with a concussion or worse, an infection."

A gambit she'd only ever read in a book, almost every part of her body was buzzing with adrenaline. Screaming at her to get out of there, but she couldn't leave just yet. She needed to save this kid, the others would be fine because this one needed more help than they did.

Prefects took care of the innocent, the angel of the alleyways could save the guilty and the mad.

The raised voices, resonating through the very abandoned toilets, all fighting to be louder than the other. Shouts, cries of distressed, yells, they were obstructing her want to be focused, clouding her thoughts, stressing her out. All the new prefect wanted was for everything to stop. If the Gryffindor was not a prefect, if she hadn’t the responsibilities and duty to the school on her shoulders, she would have cared less about this situation, she would not have entered he bathroom in the first place when she heard the deafening boom. But that was an entirely different thing now for Aurelia had a simple pink badge pined onto her robes at the left breast pocket. She was a prefect but one who had barely a a few weeks of experience. First she had to call off a party the other day and now she had to deal with this.

Snap out of it. You knew you these things would happen when you sent your prefect application in. You signed up for this. Aurelia told herself as she took a calming breath in and exhaled. She had to focus. Students were hurt. The boy she was helping was yelling at Kaegen, of course he would, he (Kaegen) had caused this. Crazy Boy. He would have to be dealt with later. First, help. Deal later.

I know you’re angry. Calm down, he would have to face the consequence later. You to go to the hospital wing now. You need help.” She told him as sternly as she could, praying that this boy would come to his senses.

Aurelia noticed that another girl, a girl with familiar hair whom she had met briefly in the party the other day, was hurt as well, a crimson red line of blood dripping from her leg. Mari. She needed help too. At least there was a Gryffindor boy asking if she was okay, which was literally no use at all since she obviously wasn’t.

You, She called the Gryffindor boy aiding Mari.

Help Mari to the hospital Wing. Get some students down the halls to assist you if you have trouble doing so.” She instructed.

Then turned her head towards Rowan. He was like Elena, dealing the imbecile, Kaegen but she doubt it’ll have any effect on him. Prefects, those with authority were the ones that dealt with such a boy.

Rowan, help this boy to the hospital wing. Elena and I will deal with Kaegen. the Gryffindor prefect said. The two boys helping the injured to the hospital wing were Gryffindors, those she could trust. Elena however, though she was more experienced than her, she was a someone she didn’t trust.

“I think it would be best if a more... abled bodied person assisted the injured boy, yes Ms. Prefect?”

He almost snarled on the word prefect. Of course! The girl dismissed him out of hand, almost insulted him, and then decided she was to take care of the situation, because she was all high and mighty with her title.

The male infront of him ignored her the first time around. Actually talked to him. Payed attention to him. Thought him to be rational, maybe, unlike her. He obviously despised authoritarian figures. He was more likely to talk among misfits and mischief makers. Hence, him and Elena. Angel of the streets and a boy who back talked prefects. Lovely.

So he was to play the bad guy.

“Why doesn’t that abled body person be you, hmm? Go run off to the professors. I think this is just a bit above your pay grade, yes? Do you even get payed? Do you even do anything other than boss people around?”

He laughed softly, the little sadistic grin growing on his face. He turned his head away from Crazy eyes for just a moment, winking and flicking his finger slightly, trying his best to make a ‘I got this’ movement, without him noticing.

“Elena, angel darling, would you like to guard the door to make sure no other idiotic children come wandering in to something their little minds can’t handle?”

Again, he turned just a little more, mouthing ‘go’, trying to convey his message best he could before he turned back to Crazy eyes again, still offering the water bottle.

Donny wasn't going to allow this. He was bleeding rapidly, while people just stood around, telling each other what to do and what not to do like a band at the circus. Donny reluctantly shuffled up, looking at Rowan with a painful frown for his stubbornness and soon back to The Crazy Boy. His head was spinning, spinning rapidly as he stood there for quite a long time. He took hold of the Prefect girl's arm, and whimpered slightly, but shrugged it off trying to seem like a braver lad than he was. He was tired of all this 'angel' and 'monsters' nonsense, it was time for some action. Someone needed to speak up. Why were they so afraid of this seemingly frail boy with a wild grin on his face?

Donny began to stare at the ground thinking about all the possible places he could be besides here. Certainly any place would be more ideal than standing in his own puddle of blood. He looked up at the Prefect girl. "Can someone just do something about this rubbish?" he whispered to her, still clutching her arm quite firmly. He'd only known one crazy person like he'd just witnessed, and that was on a weird muggle horror movie he saw with his somewhat amusing uncle. It was called 'The Shining' or whatever, but it certainly reminded him of this situation...

The boy in the wheeling chair introduced himself as... Rowan. Said that he wouldn't want Kaegen to think that he didn't have a name. Well, considering how clear it was that he didn't have a name to speak of, the ravenclaw could only assume what he meant was that he didn't want Kaegen to know the truth about him not having a name because he was trying to keep it a secret or something. He didn't acknowledge the boy's name, but did decide to give his own with as much pride and force as his raspy, quiet little voice could muster.

"Kaegen Deathmote, Fens-Born Scarf-Wielder, he who was called fat tadpole as a babe, suicidal idjit as a toddler and he who earned the name Eeh before arriving at Hogwarts. He who lost two and kept one. He whose names are given authority by Grandfather, whose names were given authority by the conqueror of the 14th dark place."

What did they have that could compare with that? Nothing, they had nothing. Just sounds that meant nothing and were only used to differentiate them. He didn't care who was who, he knew only two of the faces here, not enough, not by most people's standards. But for Kaegen, it didn't matter who the weak puddles on the ground were. They were useless. Nothing. Just bloo- just students.

"What monsters? You are alive now because no one had the time to kill you, and I see no reason to change that."

The boy's eyes narrowed at the water. For a boy afraid of everything, even now when his fear was having trouble getting out, there was a lot of caution. Fear was who he was, the habits remained even when foolhardy courage took over. And a stranger giving him water was not his idea of a safe time. It was his idea of an obvious trap with poison, stoppered death or a paralysis.

"That's it? That's the best you came up with?"

Another boy was asking a girl who literally just collapsed if she was fine. She was fine, her heart was pumping blood a bit fast, but it's not like she was in critical danger. It's not like the wound was doing much else but slightly bleed. She was faking, for a reason he couldn't fathom. Maybe pretending to be weak so he'd attack, and then be surprised? He couldn't know, but he could guess, and file away that guess with the other possible outcomes to watch out for. At this point, he had a whole file cabinet full.

"Who am I? I'm one of the few people with a name in this School, I'm one of the few people who actually have a chance. I would love to say that when I'm done I would find you and tell you that I told you so but you're not significant enough to remember.

And I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean? If you're talking about the explosion, then I would very much like to see the person who saw me set it off. I think a witness would be helpful, don't you? It turns little sacks of nothing into little sacks of nothing with a valid argument."

He didn't know why he was talking this much. It hurt his throat, he didn't like it. The quiet little voice was being smothered, his eyes were dark and his blood was pumping ferociously. He was growing impatient, upset. Ready to act. The blood still smelled so, so good. But he would have to take out these people first, make them go away or simply kill them. He was stronger than they were, he could feel it. Sense it, almost.

The girl with blue hair told the other to stop talking, and introduced herself with several names. But for some reason, he could indeed remember her name, what she had first introduced herself as. It was not as some angel, and he knew it.

"Puck the Wicked. Tricky. Jones. Names don't just change, names are slowly changed."

He ignored her offer of help, it went without saying that he had no intention of letting her mess around with him, or in general get near him unless he was coming at her with intent to harm. Sometimes, people could be very, very dumb. All of these people were being dumb, and the little scared voice screamed that that was a problem, that this was a trap, screamed to run. But it wasn't loud enough. Not by a long shot.

And then, the prefect, who was very, very familiar spoke up. He didn't care about most of it but what did stick was that she said Elena and her would deal with him. Would deal with him? Really? Just announced that in front of everyone here, then? A smile started to spread across his lips again as a small cough marked where a small chuckle would have been. So those two were going to deal with him? Those two were his targets? Elena the wicked and...

Then it clicked. Lights. Level 2 death witch. He knew her, he had interacted with her in the past, she had a page in his book. In a flash, his arms disappeared into his robes, leaving his sleeves limp and loose by his sides. In another flash, they were back. One hand holding a knife, and the other holding his wand.

But that wasn't all. The boy in the Wheeling chair was apparently stronger? So strong that he was telling lights that this fight was above her pay grade, that she should run get the bigger monsters. So that was how this hierarchy was set up, then? Wheelchair at the top, then the wicked, then lights.

The boy had a good nose, and he had very good ears. Always had. It wasn't hard to hear the whisper of the bleeding boy. Asking someone to take care of this... rubbish? Who was rubbish here? Kaegen's lips rose in a honestly rather pathetic and hoarse snarl, baring fangs too large to be natural.

"Do something about this? Yes, I think I should."

Perhaps they didn't know exactly who they were fighting, perhaps if he just scared them off there wouldn't be that big of an issue. Yeah, that seemed about right. A good plan, but one that he was very willing to abandon in favor of all-out violence.

"Well, then."

He raised his wand in a flash, and in another flash cast a spell the bite of which he knew too well. Straight for lights, the death witch who had been so prideful as to think that she could deal with him. Deal with him? He had fought professors before, what could a level 2 do to him?

"Diffindo"

And then he leaped to the side, into a bathroom stall. Best to not give them a clear target to fire back at.

"Let me help you up."

Well aware that disobeying the prefects was not the optimal idea at the moment, Lamik tugged lightly on the injured girl's sleeve. He did his best to not pay attention to his surroundings and only focus on the task at hand but that was not such an easy feat to accomplish given the situation. As the prefects started arguing, the boy groaned.

"You could get hurt. Well- more hurt than you already are. We need to do what the prefects say."

Suddenly he heard the strange boy speak. Introduce himself as Kaegen Deathmote. A melodramatic name for a melodramatic person. He spoke of things that really did not fit the context of the conversation: Scarves, tadpoles, subtraction. Kaegen was scary, but Lamik couldn't help but feel the urge to get to know him sometime, maybe figure out what he wanted and why he did what he did. Turning towards Kaegen, the first year started asking:

"Do I have a na-"

Before he could finish the sentence (and probably get scolded by the prefects) Lamik heard a first spell being discharged. He quickly ducked his head to avoid getting hit, not that he entirely sure where it was coming from or where it was headed.

"Yup! We should go. Help injured girl now, ask strange boy questions later."

The mask of laughter and hatred for the prefect broke in an instant. The boy raised his wand, and he got out of the way. He didn’t care what direction he went, but it needed to be not in the kid’s line of sight.

Although because of this rash movement... he nearly fell over. Thankfully he didn’t, but he definitely slammed his head back against the wall.

His vision blurred for a moment.

Still, no fear, but instead thinking of the next course of action. How to fix this. Talking was out of the question. The kid was armed and dangerous, as well as going off. However he had cornered himself in the stall. But... there were two injured and maybe more after that spell. He didn’t have the skill, nor enough hands to deal with this.

“Get the injured out!”

He roared. Those were just going to be a safety hazard. A breeze clipped at his ear.

And an idea sparked to life.

“Prefect! Verdimillious! Use it down the hall!”

He stuck his hand out, feeling for the window. Which turned out, to already be shattered. That would explain both the temperature in this room, and the amount of shattered glass on the floor. He pulled out his wand and pointed out the window in one swipe, before he yelled.

“Verdimillious!”

The room was ablaze with red light for a moment, before the spark streaked outside, alerting any professor in the area.

Donny hadn't any time to think. All he saw as he was gripping the prefect girls robes was a bright red flash, and a few yells. He was petrified at the thought of another attack. He knew the boy had aimed at someone or something, and he just wanted to get as far away from him as possible. "We need to leave! Alert someone!" he yelled to no one in particular. He got up, running towards the door when he slipped again. He yelled in agony and took his wand out hopelessly, ready for anything that might come his way. Everyone was running and diving, he was worried about the blue haired girl, but he was fearful to look up.

He stood on his knees, his vision blurry for he had lost his glasses. He only knew one defensive spell, but it would be completely silly to use it in this serious time. But should he try it? It could distract some people, and maybe have someone falling. He mustered up strength, pointed his wand into the stall and said, "Tarantallegra!" he heard a little bit of slipping but he didn't dare stay anywhere near this place any longer. He ran for it, crying with even more pain and stress, waiting for some professor to calm the situation. "Not so intimidating now are you?" he said to himself, referring to the crazy boy who he hoped had got the worst of the spell.

So much had happened after Mari had sunk to the floor in pain that she didn't know what to make of all of it. Some students introduced themselves; Mari struggled to remember all of their names: Rowan. He was the wheelchair one. Kaegan. He was the...the...monster. Elena, with the blue hair, confusedly introduced herself as an angel. Mari wasn't too sure what that was about. She instantly recognized, as the figures all came to focus, the prefect from the party she had abandoned so quickly, fearful to get in trouble. Mari still only knew her as Bezu-something. Bezu it is, she thought, until she gets off of her prefect high-horse to tell us plebians her name. The other boy who had been on the floor started yelling angrily at Monster Kaegan. He seemed much more injured than her; while he yelled, Mari closed her eyes and thanked all the celestial bodies above that she had chosen to cry in a stall instead of out in the open, like this boy must have been.

"Are you ok?"

Mari smiled weakly at the boy and nodded. "Nothing a little healing won't fix." Lucy, she thought with a jolt, would be more interested in this knight in shining armor than her injuries. Boys took precedence in her mind. Never mind the fact that Mari was in quite a bit of pain.

Bezu directed the Gryffindor boy to help her, and while Mari greatly appreciated her concern for her well-being, to her surprise, she muttered, "No."

Eyes widening, shocked at her own response, her mind, seemingly without Mari's permission, continued loudly, "No! I want to know why...this monster... did this. I'm sorry, but I did not ask to be hurt, and I deserve to know why this boy decided to interrupt my moment of peace to brutally attack me!" She eyed the prefect and, gaining her control back, added hastily, "...if that's okay, ma'am."

She reddened. This prefect was only a year or two older than her, not really a "ma'am." Mari knew she would probably be more preoccupied with her blatant disregard for the instructions more than anything. Thankfully, though, Mari's subconscious had seemed to get her wish, as crazy Kaegan declared, "Who am I? I'm one of the few people with a name in this School, I'm one of the few people who actually have a chance. I would love to say that when I'm done I would find you and tell you that I told you so but you're not significant enough to remember. And I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean? If you're talking about the explosion, then I would very much like to see the person who saw me set it off. I think a witness would be helpful, don't you? It turns little sacks of nothing into little sacks of nothing with a valid argument."

Surely he's possessed, Mari thought to herself. But honestly, he seems to be quite lucid to me. Her blood was boiling. The fact that he was just looking at these injured students without any regard for their well-being drove her mad. She knew that what he said was correct, though; she had been too "in her feelings" to realize what was going on until the damage had been done. She was no witness. She was just Mari, weak, loser Hufflepuff Mari, who had been sitting in a stall grieving all of the potential that she could have had at Hogwarts, instead just letting her family down. Now, all these students knew she was just a pathetic fool. Monster Kaegan had done more damage than he had realized, and it was igniting a new, undiscovered feeling inside of her.

The Gryffindor boy had offered to help her up, and Mari accepted his offer with a greater smile. (Lucy would say he was cute, and I would say Lucy was insane for thinking about boys at this moment, she thought.) Almost instantaneously as the Gryffindor kept talking, Mari heard the spell emit from crazy Kaegan's lips: "Diffindo."

Mari heard Rowan utter another spell, Gryffindor say that they should go, injured boy yell yet another spell, but her mind controlled her body once more. She was acting in a way she had never done before; gone were her normal concerns of getting in trouble as she leapt towards crazy Kaegan with a bonfire in her chest, anger controlling her every movement. She was small, too small to be fighting anyone, but her mind told her go, go, go as she reached the boy, his forehead still bleeding, and she was suddenly unaware of the pain in her legs as she started to slap him with all her force, forgetting that she had a wand (though she knew few spells, so it would have been useless either way), and the slaps turned to punches and she was screaming wild screams, as if she too was possessed, much like this Kaegan daemon. "You - don't - hurt - anyone - else!" she bellowed in a voice much louder than any she had used before, surprisingly strong for a girl who only reached the daemon's chest. "You - owe - us - an - explanation - you - MANIAC! Why? Why? WHY?"

Mari aimed a punch straight to his nose and something pulled her back; completely lost of control, she wasn't sure if it was herself, another student, or the spells that her body so surprisingly dodged. Unaware of her screams that still came, echoing throughout the bathroom, she continued. Unaware of the fact that her punches were no longer even close to a target, instead flinging her arms in the space around her, she continued. Unaware that her body was lowering once more, not from pain but from emotion suffocating her, she continued. Her breaths hastened, but she kept moving, and as her screams continued, she weakly thought, This must be what a panic attack is...
