A Book-Filled Experience
Nick listened to Astoria explain herself, and a bunch of thoughts came around from her commenting of "Wizarding Fairytales", he wondered if Wizarding Fairytales were more imaginative than common people's fairytales, they shouldn't right? Imagination was the same for Wizards and Commoners, right? What did Wizards fantasize about anyways? As far as he was concerned, the sky was (literally) the limit for them and their magic. He didn't voice any of these thoughts however, fearing they were dumb.
Astoria's giggles made Nick smile, and he himself giggled a bit when she said she was slightly fearful of them, "You don't have to worry, it's just a book right? Books don't bite" (Oh how much he didn't know). Next he answered Bert's question, "Oh... Well, it went less than ideal", he laughed a bit awkwardly, "I tried like 8 different wands", he wished he was exaggerating, but no, "Halfway I already thought the letter was wrong, but hey, that nice oldman didn't lose faith, and he proved right", he smiled, it was really nice seeing the wand flicker with light, showing him he was indeed magical.
Next was introducing himself, just like Bert, Astoria and Lyra now, "I'm Nick, Nick Kingsman", Lyra's introduction made him wonder two things, first, what the heck an Auror was, it definitely was something important, since she was sure they may've heard of her father, and her comments on it made it seem like it was maybe a magical police officer, he then wondered how a magical police officer would operate. The second row of thoughts was a tad more serious, what his own father was on the Wizard World, he really hoped he wasn't one of the bad guys, he would be fine if he was just some common wizard guy, just not one of the bad guys.
He was brought out of his own thoughts from Lyra's cry, his reflexes only allowed him to slightly help her fall, and slightly meant that he indeed break her fall to some degree, but he fell next to her, his bottom hurting a fair bit, "Ouch...", he said, but it wasn't a big deal, afterall, playing football for some time, falling and hurting his knees and/or legs was common.

A Book-Filled Experience
The four of them were all gathered together and she heard the names of Bert, the boy who was helping others, Nick, the one who finds fantastic beasts to be fantastic and Lyra, the one searching for Magical Theory.
Nick smiled at Astoria, but what he had mentioned that the books don't bite made her still smile. "Well, if books did bite, I wouldn't have them in my room. I'd have them bound and locked away. I don't need to wake up with a missing finger or something." But she did clarify her fear of beasts. "I heard that later on in our schooling, we will be taking a Care of Magical Creatures class. Now that will be scary for me. The idea of being feet away from creatures that are looking at you with scary eyes, sharp teeth and claws ready to pounce!" She shivered at the thought.
Astoria had listened to Bert and found out that he too knew of a location to find them but they looked to be in a different part of the store. "Oh perhaps Magical Theory books are over there. Well, let's look up on that shelf up there first since we have our ladder and then we can check the section that Bert had mentioned."
Lyra was up on the ladder as she was struggling to reach a book. She had informed the group of her last name, Hardwick, and that they may know of her father from the Ministry. "Hmm, the name doesn't ring a bell but maybe my father knows of that name? He use to work as an Auror in the Ministry but now he works in the Department of Mysteries." Astoria felt as though she had some sort of disconnection with her father. Working with the Department of Mysteries, it was against the law for Matthias to speak anything about his job and department. It was difficult for Astoria to know about what he did for a living because he could never talk about what he did. Oh well, she loved him dearly.
Astoria watched as Lyra was up on the ladder and she had apparently found what she had needed because she was waving it down at them. Suddenly though, there was a loss of balance. The ladder came out from under her and down went Lyra from above. Nick had cut through and tried to help her with landing but it looks like he too fell. "Oh no! Are you both okay?" Astoria asked as she approached them. She turned to Bert "Bert, could you help me get them back on their feet?" Astoria reached out a hand to Nick.

Bert was not used to trying to have a conversation with so many people back and forth like this. It was very hard to keep track where the discussion was. Apparently they were now talking about fathers. He decided to opt out f this part of the exchange because well... he loves his father but does not... necessarily like him. Morton Jones is a high ranking official in the (muggle) military and is a bit of a bruiser. He uses his position as a way to showcase his power over people. He is a good man, takes care of his family but does not understand his only child. Bert is lanky and thin where Morton is built and muscular. Bert likes to be alone; Morton is always the center of the party. If there is no party, Morton makes one. Bert just didn’t want to get into the wavy feelings he has about his Father. He needed to stop thinking about the ‘going away’ party his Father was throwing for Bert right before School starts. His chest was starting to feel very heavy. He just needed to breathe. That’s what the books all said to do, breathe.
"Bert, could you help me get them back on their feet?
Bert was forced out if his head when he noticed that Nick and Lyra were on the floor. “OH! Okay”
He put out his hand to help them up.
But his anxious feelings didn’t go away completely. “Umm I just need some fresh air,” He said as he had already pushed passed and started walking out into the street of Diagon Alley.

Nick's eyes would lit up at the mention of Care of Magical Creatures, he would look off to the distance and scratch his chin, thousands of images going through his head. The idea didn't scare him, it interested him. Walking up to a unicorn, or a pegasus, brushing it's hair, maybe ride one, feel the warmth of a phoenix's body. It would probably become one of his favorite classes.
Back to the present and Nick on the floor, "Yeah...", he'd mutter, starting to stand up on his own, not being accostumed to someone helping him off the floor, but just as soon as he started to stand up, he'd notice Astoria's hand, stopping mid motion to grab it. Once on his feet yet again, he'd look at Astoria, giving her a heartfelt smile, he really wished some of this kids would stick and maybe become friends once they all went to Hogwarts, "Thanks", he'd say before letting go.
Nick's attention would soon switch though, since Bert just exited the shop, looking like they annoyed him in some way. Nick would look at both Lyra and Astoria, "Do you think he's mad?", he asked them both, deciding if he would follow him outside or not. "Excuse me, children?", another voice could be heard then, a woman, not that old, but not that young, with gray-ish hair and round glasses stood there, looking at them with a slightly worried glare, "Is everything alright? I heard a loud noise, like someone falling".

Lyra was clearly embarrassed. Her face was red, she avoided the eyes of the other kids, and above that, her bum hurt! This was the worst way to introduce herself to people she didn't know very well, falling off a ladder...Wait, hold on...she couldn't feel her arm! Well, no, that wasn't it: her arm hurt so badly all she could feel was pain, and so much of it.
Lyra tried to lift her arm. "Ouch!" It hurt to even move the skin, she felt like. Her arm was most likely broken, or if it was sprained, it hurt like crazy. Looking up at the other kids, especially Astoria, Lyra groaned, "I...I think I might've broken something—well, not something, I know it's my arm." She shook her head at the helping hands. "I can help myself..."
A hot tear fell down her cheek, but she turned away. Hopefully no one had seen it. A nice lady had came over, probably noticing the small pile of books on the floor and the jumble of students. Lyra felt stupid for attempting to grab that book, she'd known it was dangerous, but she sort of wanted to impress those kids, even though that was definitely not the best way.
She watched Bert leave in a sort of rushed manner, he looked uncomfortable. She wondered what that was about. Besides her arm being broken, Lyra had a severe headache and she felt a bump on her forehead, too. She groaned loudly and gave a feeble smile to the other kids. "I have to go...I know, I don't look that much in pain but I'm tougher than I look." Lyra turned and awkwardly walked away, cradling her arm.
When she reached her family her mother shrieked and raced over to her daughter. Some other people looked over in curiosity but Lyra was just thinking about how dumb she felt leaving to look for a book and coming back with a broken arm. She scolded herself, burying her heated face in her mom's embrace, hoping she didn't have to see those kids again, or anyone at Hogwarts, she wondered if she'd be the talk of the school in her very first year, for a bad reason.

Hopefully meeting new students at Hogwarts won't be like this encounter that Astoria had but she didn't mind. She was always there to provide a helping hand when others would need help. Astoria's grandmother Matilda was a healer so she always taught Astoria to help others even if they don't want it.
Nick took hold of Astoria's hand and she helped him up. He gave her a thankful smile and said 'thanks'. "You're welcome! I just hope you guys didn't get bruised too badly or anything." Bert had came over to assist Lyra. Lyra seemed to have been in the most pain compared to Nick. "We need to get you checked out. Is there a healer nearby that could have a look at your arm?" The girl dismissed help from Bert and got up on her own.
A woman of the bookstore came over to the four of them and asked what had happened. Astoria wasn't sure if she should speak up or if Lyra or Nick should have said something since it was them who got hurt, especially Lyra. Soon, there was a change in the group and Bert had to excuse himself for fresh air. "Bert?" Astoria asked but he was already gone. Lyra then spoke up that she too had to go and that she was tough to be in any pain. Astoria gave her a worried look "Are you sure Lyra? I'm sure someone can help you..." but in moments, the girl disappeared.
It was just then, Nick and Astoria with a pile of books on the floor. She knelt down to pick up the books, doing her best to cradle them in her arms. She loved books and even after an accident, they should never be left on the dirty floor. "Umm, Nick? Would you mind helping me put these back on their shelves?" Astoria asked "The bookshop owner shouldn't be held responsible for putting books that we took off the shelves or that fell at least..."

"It's okay ma'am", Nick spoke up since none of his other peers seemed to plan on doing so, "Lyra here just fell, but she should be fi-", Nick stopped talking once noticing how poorly his try at saving Lyra some amount of pain had gone, now he could barely say anything, he was shocked seeing her in such a poor state, "Oh my god!", the woman gasped, "We need to get you to a healer right now!", she declared, following after Lyra, and probably entering a conversation with her mother, apologizing for any damage that ocurred to Lyria on the shop.
Nick was now lost on his thoughts, worried that everything went downhill in such a short amount of time. Bert was annoyed by something they did and he left, Lyra fell and broke an arm apparently, and Astoria... Astoria remained, she actually called Nick, which brought him out of his mind, looking at the lady outside, talking to Lyra's mother. He would turn his head towards her suddenly, "Huh?! O-Oh, Astoria... You're still here", he said. He'd start picking up books and helping Astoria then, "I'm sorry all this went downhill so fast...", he'd apologize, even whe nothing that had happened was his fault, maybe talking to Bert in the first place, which caught the attention of Astoria, which led to Lyria talking to them aswell... But he didn't know any of what happened would go that way, "I'm surprised you stuck around... I still need to buy some books, but I think books just gained a new creep factor for me", he laughed a bit sadly.

Astoria picked up some of the books and placed them upon a table that was before them. She did a quick flip through of the books to ensure none of the pages were bent. She hated when people would use corners of book pages as book marks. The world invented bookmarks for books for a reason! Finding that the books were all good, Nick seemed to have popped out of a thought he might have been having. He had apologized for the events that had occurred. "Oh don't worry about it Nick, it wasn't your fault." Astoria said, reassuring him in a gentle and warm voice, "Think of it this way, you made acquaintances... or even a friend!" She gave him a beaming smile. She was always an optimistic child.
She giggled once again at him and now that he had his new found creep of books. "Well, how about this to calm your nerves..." Astoria took out a black ribbon that she carried with her to tie her hair up. She always had two ribbons with her in case something happened to another. The books that she was organizing actually were the books that Nick still needed. Or she assumed that he still needed. Piling them up, bigger on the bottom and smaller at the top, she tied the ribbon around the books so they didn't fall all over the place again. "Ta-da! All the books you will need, or potentially need are right here! The books were actually relatively close by so I just snuck them in for you. Everything you need from your fantastic beasts to your magical theory."
There was a tap on the window outside and it was Astoria's parents awaiting for her with ice cream. Apparently she had been in here for quite some time. Looking back at Nick, she handed the pile of books to him. "And about your 'creep factor' of books, let's make a deal..." Astoria said quickly "When we get to Hogwarts, I'll help you get over this creep factor of books, if you help me get over my fear of fantastic beasts. Deal?" She started to back up and walked to the front of the shop. Before leaving, Astoria smiled brightly at Nick "Hope to see you soon!" and she was then reunited with her parents with a double chocolate ice cream cone with sprinkles. She waved once more through the window, her father tipping his hat to Nick like a gentleman and her mother giving the same beaming smile Astoria gave.

A Book-Filled Experience
Nick started picking up books himself, though he didn't think of checking the pages like Astoria did, even when he had read some cool books, reading wasn't his cup of tea. However, he did understand how she could get angry for that, the few books he had and really liked, he had them in pristine conditions, no bent pages, no name/addess written on the first page, nothing like that. He smiled at Astoria's positivity, someone giving him support was just what he needed, so he wasn't feeling as bad about the whole debackle now.
When she started grabbing her ribbon, he looked at her with curiosity, observing as she organized some books and tied them up, when she explained the books were his school books, he tilted his head for a second, but then it shot upwards in realization, "Ohhh!", he smiled then, "I see, I see, thank you!", he grabbed the books, eyeing them up a bit, confirming they were indeed on the list, "You didn't miss one! Thank you... Though you didn't need to add the ribbon", he laughed, feeling a bit nervous.
He almost didn't heard the tap on the window, but he turned just as Astoria turned. He didn't understand fully what was happening as she spoke about the deal, he smiled while blushing, his voice stuttered, "I-It's a Deal th-then!".
He stayed looking at the window with a smile, almost with stars in his eyes. He didn't move until another employee there at the shop, a much younger woman, came up to him and asked, "You gonna pay for that hun?". Coming back to reality, he payed for the books, and looked for his mother on the rest of the building, but nothing, she wasn't there.
Nick went out of the store, looking around, worried that his mother went away to some place and he was lost, but she was right there in front of the store, sitting on a bench, eating some ice cream herself. He approached her with a worried smile, "Mum, I thought you were gone!", she laughed, standing up and giving him a slight hug, "Don't worry dear, I was searching for your books, but I saw you were interacting a bit! I didn't want to intervine", Nick laughed with a hand on the back of his head, "Oh! You saw that?", Julia smiled at his boy, "Yeah! I was so proud!", she then raised a brow, "And what do you say? You made some friends?", she looked at the shop again, keeping quiet for a second. He then looked at the ribbon on his books, "I hope so...", he answered.
