Floating Beasts and Where to Find Them
"Yes Professor" Jade replied, she accepted the boys help in standing up and stood aside while he put his cloak on.
"Do you need help walking at all?" the boy asked. "No, I'll be fine thanks" Jade replied, she turned and started out the door when she realised she didn't know how to get to the Hospital wing.
"I don't suppose you know how to get to the hospital wing?" Jade asked the boy who's name she still didn't know.
Jade was surprised at how many people she had met in Hogwarts that reminded her of other people. At this moment the boy reminded her of an old friend she had had, well, actually the only friend she had ever had. She supposed it was the hair and how he was standing. Jade knew she ought to stop comparing people to people she had already met but she couldn't help it.
"Not to be rude but I still don't know your name. It just might come in handy as I think we're still a ways from the Hospital wing." Jade asked hoping that the boy knew the way to the Hospital Wing.

"I don't suppose you know how to get to the hospital wing?" the girl asked.
Fenix thought for a moment. He'd remembered passing it before on his way to Charms class. "I believe it's on the third floor. Just around the corner from Charms class." Fenix said hoping his memory served him well.
"Not to be rude but I still don't know your name. It just might come in handy as I think we're still a ways from the Hospital wing."
"I'm Fenix. Fenix Black. What about you?" he asked her, "Or should I just call you the girl with the wicked knock back jinx?" Fenix said rubbing his shoulder. He must have landed on it pretty hard because it hurt a bit still. He'd never been hit with a knock back jinx before but he'd watched his father use them on troublesome garden gnomes. Gnomes had made a home in his mother's rose bushes one autumn giving Fenix's muggle mother quite a start when she went to trim the bushes.
Fenix lead the way out of the hallway and up the stairs toward the Hospital Wing. He wondered if the girl had used the jinx before or if it was a heat of the moment sort of ordeal. He supposed he'd ask on the way...

Jade giggled "My name is Jade Murphy, and I'm surprised my jinx worked. Does your shoulder hurt? We should probably have the nurse look at it." Jade asked hoping she didn't hurt the boy who'd saved her.
"That was really brave of you, to help me instead of helping yourself. A bit foolish, but brave. I suppose that's why you're in Gryffindor. At least we know you can produce a lot of smoke, that'l be sure to distract anyone who try's to harm you." Jade said following Fenix up the stairs.
I wonder how he managed to drag me, he would have had to been standing which means he would have been breathing smoke. I guess he has a bit more insurance that me. Jade thought, pondering the whole ordeal.
"Well, I've got to admit, out of all the ways I've met people so far, that was the craziest. I mean we could have died, not likely but we could have........ I think I'm going to leave this out of my letter to my parents, they do tend to worry" Jade remarked partly to herself.

Fenix's face flushed at the mention of his bravery.
"Oh I... I mean I couldn't have just left you there. By the time I'd have found someone you could have been dead... I think they expel students for that sort of thing now," Fenix said with a smirk, attempting to deflect from his sheepishness.
"Well, I've got to admit, out of all the ways I've met people so far, that was the craziest. I mean we could have died, not likely but we could have........ I think I'm going to leave this out of my letter to my parents, they do tend to worry."
"Yeah it's probably best to say we just met in class," Fenix said. His parents wouldn't be too thrilled to hear about him nearly killing a classmate either. He tried not to think of how things would have gone if he hadn't dragged her from the classroom that still emanated smoke behind them.
"I'm sorry I almost killed you. Though in my defense I tend to be a bit of a prat," he said smiling, "So what do you plan to do once you get that clean bill of health? Would you mind showing me how to do that jinx?"

Jade smiled at the boy "It's ok, I shouldn't have barged in on your practicing like that. I'm not sure I'll still be able to preform the spell but I can try to teach you." Jade said.
"Though I wonder how the nurse will fix my headache. I know that muggles would merely use medicine, but I don't know what Wizards use. My town didn't have that many Wizards you see, just my parents and four others." Jade said. It was true she had seen healing charms, but those had all been on cuts. She had never see anything used for headaches or other similar things. As Jade thought about this she wondered what it would be like to be a nurse at Hogwarts, to see all those injuries.
At that moment they rounded a corner and Jade was blasted with direct sunlight "Oww!" Jade yelped jumping back and cradling her head in her hands. "Right, well, I'd better cover my eyes. I just wish I had my sunglasses. Oh well. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me." Jade said standing up and putting a hand over to top of the eyes so she could only see the floor.

"I imagine the nurse will have a potion of some kind considering a headache is to do with an organ. Although the thought of wand magic fixing a headache seems a bit interesting considering the brain's complexity." Fenix said, placing his hands on her shoulders, "If you want to keep your eyes closed I can guide you through the hallway so you don't stumble."
He began to walk forward gently guiding her further into the hallway, "You know my dad is a Hufflepuff as well..." Fenix said trying to make conversation. He wasn't very good at socializing with new people. "'Hufflepuffs make the best of friends!'" He said letting go of her and imitating a tall, proud and bearded Lincoln Black. He suddenly remembered that she had her eyes closed and he fumbled back behind her again returning his hands to her shoulders. "Sorry, sorry. Forgot you were blind, haha.." he laughed awkwardly.
"My dad is pretty cool. He had hoped I'd get into Hufflepuff house. He wanted to have a big house party. I overheard him talking about it to my mum one morning before we left for King's Cross station." Fenix knew his father would love him no matter what, but he did feel bad about not making Hufflepuff house. He continued to gently guide her down the hallway...
