Well, Katie, for one, found herself deeply enjoying the knowledge share. “That explains a lot of hog warts: a history.” She said, as she received the information. But then she asked about school.

“Yeah, you have to learn geography somehow, right? Wait. You’ve never gone to school before? Can you read?” Or maybe Luna was like her in another way. They might both be homeschooled.

“Yeah, we build them inside the ceilings, so they don’t fall out. And then they’re connected with wires that transmit electricity through the lightbulb so it can light up.” Oh, how she wished the had some of those wires, mini-lightbulbs, and batteries from home to show her new friend. She clearly had no frame of reference for this. “If we meet again I’ll show you, I have one in my trunk.”

Wait. Dushwashers were new? She’d almost been kidding. What the heck was a house elf? “A house elf?” She asked, almost concerned. “No, we have this machine that you rinse your dish in the sink and place it inside. It sprays high-powered water and soap on all the dishes like a rainstorm and gets it all clean. We have another machine I like that called a washer for our clothes. But then you need to move clothes from the washer to the dryer and then fold them. It’s not really much work at all.”

"Geography? Of course, I have, but only the places that are in the wizarding world..." Luna sighed, she didn't know much things about Muggles world...

"Of course I can read, my mother is a Ravenclaw after all, and I learned stuff at home" She gave Katie a smile. Her mother was good in a lot of stuff, so she taught her a lot too. One of the reasons why she liked reading was that of her mother.

Luna looked at her awkwardly when her new friend told her about the stuff about electric lights. She couldn't really understand about the things that her new friend just told but she still nodded. The little snake still tried to remember, since she felt it was quite interesting, and maybe her future self would need it too.

After hearing Katie said that she would bring it the next time they met, Luna smiled happily. She didn't know if she felt like that because of the new things that she would know, or because she could meet Katie again.

"Ah... So it's for washing clothes" The Slytherin girl's ears turned red. She was pretty embarrassed that she guessed wrong, but Katie seemed like she didn't mind about that. Luna nodded after hearing Katie explained about the dishwashers. In addition, she realized that she forgot to answer the little Raven's question.

"House-elves..." Luna remembered what she just read about them, and she decided to say only some simple things about them, " They are magical creatures. They are really loyal and powerful. They serve wizards and witches and are usually found under the employment of old wizarding families. And... ah right, house-elves can only be freed when their master presents them with clothes. You might think that is good for them but... they will feel like you are torturing them. Ah right, I think there are some House-elves in Hogwarts too, but I'm not pretty sure since I haven't seen one here..."

“So wizards are homeschooled. Thats when you don’t go to a real school building every day, you just learn from home. I was homeschooled too, so we have that in common.” She smiled, a little happy she was able to find something that connected her to her new friend. “My brother kaden taught me to read. He’s the oldest.” Kaden was her partner in everything, the sibling she was closest too. He’d practically raised her, just due to the fact that with nine Kids her parents were stretched too thin to really put their whole heart into any one kid. They were all loved, but the kids helped each other make food, do schoolwork, and play outside safely. It was how the Williams household ran.

“Well, the clothes washer is for washing clothes. The dishwasher is for washing dishes. The dryer is for clothes too.” She smiled, easily. Luna looked sad she hadn’t gotten it right, but she really had.

“What?” Katie asked, when house elves were explained. “So they’re like housekeeping. Okay. How much do you pay them?” She asked. “Do they like working there? Are they like... SUPER magic?” Now Katie was the one with all the questions, and she didn’t really care.

"That's nice. Actually, I don't really know how about the other Wizard-born's life before Hogwarts... But most of the people that I know before coming here are homeschooled." Luna didn't think that they would have something similar, so she was quite happy to know about it. "I am an older brother too. His name is Alexander... He didn't teach me much, because he was quite busy" In addition, the relationship between them wasn't really good, because he couldn't spend time with her. She usually spent time with her mother and her little sister.

The little snake nodded again, Muggles'stuff was kind of hard to understand... However, she would still try to remember them since she wanted to understand the Muggles more.

Housekeeping? Not really right, but it was kind of like that... "Well... we don't pay them. I actually have never seen them wanting to get money from us..." Thought about that, Luna was kind of impressed of them. They were powerful, but they chose to work for a wizard's families. They didn't want to have money, but they were really loyal to their master. "I think they do? And right, you have to choose words very carefully in front of them." She remembered about the time she treated nicely to them... After that, she tried to act cold in front of them, but she still tried to be nice with them. It was... really hard "Super magic? I think so... Because they can do a lot of amazing things if their owners tell them to do it."

"really? we both have brothers too?" she asked. "I have lots of siblings. Kaden he's the oldest. he's a tailor now. Kamden is studying to be a doctor. Kai likes to go hiking, he's a senior in high school. there's Kaelin, she wants to be a fashion designer, Kacen, he cant wait to get his driver's liscence, Karl, he's a huge nerd, and the twins. Karter and Kayla, they're 13. they like acting and swimming. we're a pretty big family. But mom and dad are lawyers, so we're okay, money wise. but we all kind of have to help each other stay on track with schoolwork because there's only two of them and nine of us, you know?"

katie suddenly blushed. "I'm rambling. i can stop." and back to Katie the carrot she was.

"well, maybe your parents pay them and you just havent seen it?" she suggested, eventually recalling herself to listen to the second half of what the other had to stay. "i've never seen my dad get paid before." she shrugged. she really did miss her parents and siblings a lot. having friends was a new novelty but it was only a matter of time before homesickness set in.

"T-That's quite a lot, eleven people live in the same house... But all of your names start with a K, right? It's quite interesting..." In addition, she heard more words that she couldn't understand from Katie, and she was quite impressed with her big family. Of course, her family was quite big too, but most of them were in the pictures..."Yeah, I understand what you mean, and it's good that you guys are helping your parents like that... And you can talk more about your family, I don't mind you know" Luna giggled, "I only have a big brother, Alexander, and a little brother named Oliver. Our family is quite funny, my father is a Gryffindor, and as I told you, his wife is a Ravenclaw. However, my brother Alex, I prefer calling him like that, he is a Slytherin. Oliver hasn't been in Hogwarts, but I think he will be a perfect Hufflepuff. Ah right, I have a picture of him here, do you want to take a look?" Little Slytherin knew that she was opened more than usual, but she didn't mind about that.

"I don't think so... I just read a book about them, and if I'm not wrong, they don't get the money..."
Luna knew that sounded ridiculous, sometimes she couldn't understand them too. Being so loyal... Well, they are house-elves after all.

“Yeah. I share a room with Kayla.” She affirmed. There was no disputing she came from a large family. “Four rooms with two beds each. That’s our basement, and mom and dad are upstairs.” They’d adopted the American names for their parents after Kaden has latched onto them as a kid. Something about everything being so much cooler in America. It had just been what Katie called her. Of course, the oldest two rarely used their rooms, so they were paired with the oldest permanent residents of the house, so he didn’t have a room. When he came over for cristmas, Kaden snuggled in with Katie.

“We all start with K-A.” She said. “Mom and dad didn’t think they’d have more than two of us, when they started. But they couldn’t stop doing it when the first three matched, you know?” It was their funny family story, how the names got more absurd as they went on. “Olivier. Shortens to Ollie?” She asked. That was a cute nickname, and he sounded like a cute kid. “How old are they?” She was asking questions to avoid house elves. That seemed like a semi-problematic topic. She didn’t want to unpack that right now.

Luna nodded when she heard about Katie's family, "I understand... It must be fun to have a roommate... Our manor is quite big, so each of us has a different room." She sighed, and continued talking, "And it is nice that your names related to one another. You see, Oliver, Alexander, and Luna don't have anything similar" She didn't really mind about that, however, she thought it would be fun if their names related too.

"His name is actually Oliver, and yes, shortens to Ollie" Luna looked brighter when she talked about her little brother, "He is still young, a nine-year-old boy. Alex is sixteen years old, maybe you can see him somewhere in Hogwarts..." She took a picture from her coat and showed it to Katie.

There was a young boy in the picture, he had the same hair color and eyes color like Luna. He was smiling happily and waving at them, while still hugging a white cat. "Here. This is Ollie, and this cat is Christina. I was going to bring her to Hogwarts, but because my little brother likes her a lot, so I let her stay at the Choi manor with him. And I believe he could take care of her."

“It kinda is. I share in hog warts too, so it doesn’t feel too different.” Granted, there were more of them in the dorm and FAR more space, but when she lay in bed homesick she could convince herself it was almost the same. “Yeah, they don’t, do they?” She asked. “But that’s okay. I think they’re all very pretty.” And really they were. “Do you see your brother a lot around here?” Maybe it would be helpful for luna’s Own homesickness to see her siblings. Actually, that statement implied the assumption that Luna even GOT homesick, a fact Katie didn’t know. She was a heck of a lot more brave than Katie. That was for sure.

She looked at the picture, smiling at the description of the cat. “He’s so cute.” His hair was perfect for messing up, and he had big round cheeks. “Here...” She Fisher in her robe’s pocket to find the picture of her whole family, standing in three rows. The kids all looked identical, or very close to it, at different ages. They were wearing white and light blue dresses on the girls, white and blue suits on the boy. It had been taken last Easter.

“There, this is me and my siblings.” She smiled as she took the time to point them each out, before giving Luna the picture to hold for a bit.

"Same to me, I share in here too. It is quite weird, but I don't think that I hate it." She sure felt uncomfortable at first, but after getting used to it, she kind of like the feeling of having a roommate.

"Thanks, my mother was the one who named us, and I think they are good names too. Alex? Not really, but I'm used to it." Even when they were living in the same house, they didn't speak with each other too much. However, she was okay with it. Not because she didn't like him, the true reason was that she knew that their relationship couldn't be worse because of such small things.

"You must be homesick," Luna said when she saw the way Katie looked at the picture of her and her siblings. Since she had to learn to do a lot of things by herself, she didn't really miss her family. However, it didn't mean that she didn't love them. "Don't be, you can still talk with her by using the school owl and send them some letters."

"You guys sure look alike one another but... why aren't they moving?" Luna surprisingly looked at the picture after hearing Katie pointed at each of them and told her their name. She had never seen a picture that people inside it couldn't move. "Are all the pictures in Muggles world like this?"
