Quidditch Durmstrang vs Beauxbâtons-Tenūsa - Summer 2026

Kit squinted against the rain, looking over the team with its mix of familiar and unfamiliar faces. Beauxbatons often worked with other schools during the summer so the almost Seventh Year (oh no) had high hopes, even as she missed having Raphael around. At least Quentin hadn't left her, giving him a smile as he moved to introduce the Tenusa student to the rest of the team. As much as she wanted to make introductions, the intention wasn't to overwhelm so Kit would wait to huddle up all of the Chasers, providing a round of introductions and some general signals they might use. "There's no other games this summer, so let's give it our all. Keep an eye out for each other, fill the gaps, and have fun! You got this." She winked, hoping it sounded somewhat inspiring (that was the job of a Seventh Year, right?) before stepping back with a nod to continue the last bits of prep on her own.

In the role of Seeker when you have found the snitch, if someone attempts to use Alley Oop to help you find the snitch, you will not have disadvantage. However, with this broom you do not gain the +1 chance to grab the snitch for rounds that the Alley Oop is used. To clarify, each round someone attempts to grab a snitch they get a +1 to the attempt and this stacks. There is no bonus (or stack from this round's attempt to grab) to grabbing the snitch.

In the role of Beater, if you hit an opponent with a bludger the bludger will then ricochet off that user and target a second opponent of choice at disadvantage (must be declared, if not declared the target will be random and can be an ally but not yourself). Ricochet damage is 75% of the original hit.

In the role of Chaser, as a free action if the user of this broom is successful in the quafflegrab they can as a free action pass the Quaffle to another user in an attempt to score. There is a chance of the quaffle being intercepted, however due to the fact that the user is "so fast" with the quaffle this would be considered "surprising" and the attempt to score would be done at +3 accuracy by the player it was passed to in an attempt to score.

Note: The attempt to score would be an automatic attempt by the user that catches the passed quaffle.

Vilhelm found himself standing between his teammates, minutes before the game. Felix was currently giving a speech which he was half listening to. This was his first Summer Camp Game experience and while ‘nervous’ wasn’t something he considered a true emotion, he could feel his heart thumping just a little differently. Though, as the benched Beater, he didn’t particularly expect to play today, therefore this would be a good learning opportunity. Just to see how the team interacted in an actual game.

Aryaan Shamsi walked out into the middle of pitch, spreading out his hands and taking in the feel. The scent of the grass, the sound of the crowd, the sight of the spectators, who would soon be small as ants once they flew up into the air.
Sure it was a bit odd not to have the faces of @Sara Kohana, @Ginyami Midorimori, or even @Chiaki Hiroi around, but then he had new faces to work with and new strengths to consider. He knew, for instance, that Kit was no slouch when it came to Quidditch, and the Beauxbatons beaters were quite something. That was something, ar least. And even in these strange circumstances, all he had to do was create half a chance, and trust in those around him to take it and run.

Perhaps he should stir the pot. Just a little. There was nothing like trying to get into the heads of the brains of the opponent after all. Having them waste their brain cells trying to estimate him at all would make this all the more interesting.

"Yo, Felix!" Aryaan throws an arm out, but stops short as he realizes that multiple people actually share that name on the field. His mouth stays open for a beat, eyes darting back and forth between them (@Felix Kolbeck and @Katherine Felix) before his brain catches up to his tongue.

He flinches, dropping his volume to a mortified whisper. "Ah. Not you, ma poule my hen. You'll get yours later." He clears his throat, his ears turning bright red as he snaps back to English and glares across the pitch.

"Anyway. I remember the Durmstrang Chasers from last two years, Kolbeck. Absolute legends in the air, they were. I got to learn a lot watching them. Let’s see if the pip-squeaks you’ve got running with you this season can actually keep up with the plays and ideas I picked up from watching their predecessors."

Valeriya is a little terrified as they make their way to the Quidditch pitch. It’s their first ever international game, and while they’re starting off on the bench, that doesn’t make it much less scary. Their eyes dart from one thing to another, trying to take in as much of their surroundings as possible, but there are so many people and so much is happening that they just get overwhelmed.

Luckily, they’re pulled out of it by the sound of one of their captains’ voices telling them all to gather around. Valeriy obediently falls into place, listening attentively, eyes fixed firmly on the speaker, almost unblinkingly. They appreciate his speech, even when he stumbles over his words — it’s real, and that unpolished quality just makes it more reassuring to them. After the pair of captains finish speaking, Valeriy nods once at each of them — approval and encouragement, silent but sure — and offer a slightly nervous, small smile to all of their teammates, lingering on their year-mate, Alexios. They lift both hands curled in loose fists, their index and middle fingers fluttering against their thumbs as they say good luck in Russian Sign Language to the team in general before making their way to the bench.

Peter Smith headed towards the misty field, Nimbus in hand. Perhaps one day he would get a better broom. Until then, the Welsh boy would have to perform his violent Beater maneuvers on this Nimbus 1700. He still had some of the same teammates as last year, Kit, Quentin and Akarrah, which was pretty nice. Peter joined them as he wondered how long this match would take, brushing grime off his sleek broom handle. He had no idea how it got so dirty; the broom was always tucked neatly inside his baggage.

Gripping his treasured bat, Peter’s gaze turned to the Beauxbâtons-Tenūsa bench. The team had one second-string Chaser and one substitute Beater, the Chaser a second year with long inky hair and the Beater a tall Tenūsa boy. He would have offered a word or two but Quentin had already beat him to it and Peter kept his mouth shut.

The air around him felt terribly chilly, but Peter let the drizzle seep into his clothing, his expression already turning grim despite his love for water. Getting into place, the boy glanced up to the Hogwarts moderator with shell-pink hair in the commentary podium, waiting for the match to start.
