This was going a lot worse than expected. For starters, the kid Harvey had been too focused on whatever he was thinking to realize that there was a flaming spell coming right for him. If Dylan wasn't his teammate, he would have been happy the kid finally got a taste of his own medicine, but then again Harvey was his teammate and he could not afford to lose him.

Dylan then focused in on his own target. A fourth year barely older than him. The satisfaction of hitting the guy with his spell was enough to satisfy his hunger to just fight his own teammate if he wouldn't keep his mouth shut for five minutes.

"Can you ever be quiet and just focus on the duel? You were hit once. Want to bet you'll be hit again next round?"

The distraction caught Dylan off guard. In a moment, his sight was gone. Replaced by a tight covering over his eyes. Letting out a huff of frustration, Dylan now had no idea where the spells were coming from. This was not good. He had to thank Harvey's distracting and destructive nature for that.

Duels were really fast. He knew this, and yet he wasn't quite ready for it, his spellwork starting a second after everyone else. Somehow this seemed to be a good thing, because the two boys on the other team were busy communicating in English he only caught snatches of, too busy focusing on his incantation to decipher. He could tell from the tone, though, that they weren't saying anything nice, and while they argued, his blindfold settled neatly over the Ilvermorny boy's eyes. Alejandros breathed out. Good, that was good.

He'd been lucky enough not to be targeted yet, or the Ilvermorny-Durmstrang team just didn't see him as a threat. His teammates had been both slowed, movements reduced to a pace unfitting of this sport. « Ça va ?» You okay? He didn't like the way the Durmstrang boy had called Violette princess, it didn't sound like he'd meant it in a nice way. Phelan seemed okay, shooting back with a confident but mostly unknown slew of words.

Her gaze moved around the duel, as spells were thrown at each other; it had started strongly but had slowly yet significantly narrowed to spells being cast and evaded. Phelan seemed keen on targeting the blindfolded Dylan, who was busy removing his blindfold, but from the side were both of Dylan's allies, Emmeline and Harvey, casting spells on Phelan.

Was the teamwork great? Yes. Did it help much? Not at all, as Phelan easily evaded the spells without much effort, all while the Beauxbaton team was using another tactic, as Alejandros helped Violette with her Impedimenta's effect. Elisa personally found the move extremely clever; the spell was one hell to deal with, especially left unattended to.

It didn't take much time before Elisa heard a Rictusempra as the spell moved from Violette's wand to Dylan, who had been the common target of the match, well after Phelan but without the evasion as the spell hit him, tickling the boy while in his attempts of removing the blindfold; at least him removing it in the end was a plus point?

Elisa observed the exchange among them; definitely some of them were more words than action with how big they spoke and how barely they could aim, but then again, stuck-ups are the same, from Hogwarts or abroad, all the same.

As the duel went on, Dylan was convinced that these guys had a personal offense that he was in the duel. First off, he was teamed up with his enemy that had tried to kill him, second he was completely blinded and oblivious to the world, and third? Well, he was smacked with yet another spell. This sucked.

He nearly laughed at the younger girl who he now knew did have a spirit when aggravated. Little did she knew what lay beneath the quips and jabs between the two guys. Little did she know that the history lay far deeper in a time before Harvey had been expelled from Ilvermony. But, right now was not the time for the tale. That would have to wait for later.

Well, he was glad Violette was okay. Alejandros didn't really know how to respond to what she said -- sophistication and superior stature? -- so he just nodded, very slightly. It was the sort of thing Violette would say, sometimes. He wasn't sure if she was referring to their team or only to herself and didn't intend to find out.

Though she may be fine, by her own declaration, Violette was visibly slowing. Impedimenta existed beyond knowledge covered in the lessons he'd had so far at Beauxbâtons, but he knew a little from duelling, and that little contained two essential facts. First, that the spell would worsen. Second, that he knew the spell to fix it. He spared his opponents a nervous glance and found them busy with blindfolds and Phelan, then turned his wand on his teammate. "Finite." This would be a horrible spell to mess up; evidently the fear of embarrassment constituted enough concentration that it worked just fine. Ros smiled a tiny smile, happy with his nonviolent handiwork. Now Violette was more than fine and free to keep pelting the Durmstrang-Ilvermorny team with her sophisticated magic.

Targeting Harvey after throwing insults at him would’ve been too predictable. Phelan turned his back on the Durmstrang boy and instead shot a spell Dylan’s way. It hit.

It appeared Phelan was not the only one annoyed with Harvey. Phelan watched, slightly amused as the other two boys went at each other.

Though Phelan dodged the two spells sent his way, they put him on his guard. The game was certainly beginning to heat up.
